Author's Note:
Just a heads up, this is not a D/V story! This one is dedicated to Jonas Quinn (love you man!).
I was recently re-watching season 10 of SG-1 (research) and then I wanted to watch SGU and noticed that Langara (Kelowna) was mentioned in Counterstrike (season 10 of SG-1) and in Seizure (SGU) and in both these instances, I kept wondering 'Where is Jonas? He wouldn't allow this.' And this story was born.
Please be warned - this is a sad one folks.

Prologue
"Look at him," General Jack O'Neill said to the small group comprised of the original SG-1, "all grown up," he added almost sadly.
Colonel Samantha Carter smiled. "With all due respect, sir," she began, "he grew over a year ago...roughly the same time he and Kianna began dating."
"And now look at him," Jack continued to argue, "all married and whatnot. Grown up, I say!"
"How does marriage to another make one grown up?" Teal'c questioned.
Jack shot him an annoyed look. "It just does!"
"I think we all can agree that Jonas has grown since we first met him," Dr. Daniel Jackson interjected diplomatically, "and I don't know about you but I wouldn't want the people I view as family to be bickering on my wedding day."
Sam winced. "Daniel's right," she agreed, "Jonas doesn't have family outside of us and we should be celebrating this day with him, not arguing."
Jack's eyes shifted to her. "Every wedding has family drama, Carter," he told her matter of factly.
"Jack," Daniel said warningly
The General's face scrunched in discontented. "Fine, have it your way!"
"General O'Neill surrendering? I never thought I'd see the day," Jonas Quinn's teasing voice asked as he came up to them, dressed to the nines. As usual, he had a huge grin on his face.
"Jonas!" Jack exclaimed, "Me, surrender? Never! Just a tactful retreat."
Jonas chuckled. "Whatever you say, General."
"It was a lovely ceremony," Sam complimented with a soft smile.
"Thank you," he replied graciously, "I know it's different than most of Earth's own ceremonies."
"I found it fascinating," Daniel interjected.
Jack rolled his eyes. "Of course you did, space monkey," he said in a bored voice.
Teal'c tool a step forward. "Please accept my most heart-felt congratulations on your nuptials, Jonas Quinn," he offered sincerely.
Jonas' grin grew. "Thanks, Teal'c," he looked at all of them, "Thank you all for coming."
"Like we would miss it!" Sam retorted.
"I know you're all busy – "
"Like Carter said," Jack interrupted, "We wouldn't miss. You're a member of my team, Jonas, you're one of us; once a member of SG-1, always a member of SG-1. It doesn't matter that you're no longer on Earth."
The groom did his best not to show the moisture that gathered in his eyes. He blinked it away before they could become a problem and cleared his throat. "Thank you," he said gruffly, "that means a lot."
"We're always here for you," Sam told him, "you know that, right? Whatever you need."
An announcement came over the speakers from Langara's version of a DJ and Jonas looked over for a moment. "Do you truly mean that?" he asked once the announcement ended.
"Of course we do," Jack told him gently.
"Then would you two do me a favor?" he asked Jack and Sam.
The pair looked at each other. "Sure," they said together.
"Both Kianna and I no longer have any natural family left," he began, "and this dance is sort of like the father/daughter and mother/son dance that presides at Earth weddings. Generally, when a mother or father couldn't be present for the dance, another relative would take their place. General O'Neill, would you mind filling in for Kianna's father as a…brother of sorts?"
Jack stared at him with a soft expression. "It would be my honor," he replied sincerely.
Jonas gave Sam a hopeful look. "Would you dance with me as a sister in my place of my mother?" he asked hesitantly.
Sam smiled at him. "As the General said, it would be my honor," she told him earnestly, "I'd like nothing more."
As the three left the group, Daniel and Teal'c watched as they dancing to the music.
"They all look so happy," Daniel mused aloud.
"Indeed," Teal'c concurred.
"Long time coming," Daniel commented further, referring to the fact that Jack and Sam had finally bit the bullet and decided to be together.
Their team fishing trip a few weeks ago had pretty much sealed the deal. Jack's plan had been to retire, but General Hammond's own retirement had proceeded his own and Jack found himself promoted into Hammond's position, but watching the two this last week, Daniel knew they weren't going to let it get in the way.
A spontaneous ceremony during their fishing trip had seen to that.
Daniel didn't know what was waiting for them, but he knew things wouldn't be staying the same. "Things are about to change drastically," he voiced his thoughts aloud.
"They are, indeed, Daniel Jackson," Teal'c agreed.
How could they not? The galaxy was finally at relative peace after the destruction of Anubis and the Replicators; only minor Goa'uld remained, and they were easily dealt with now. Jack and Sam were finally together. Jack would be heading for Washington D.C and who knows where that would leave Sam. The Free Jaffa had finally gained the upper hand and took back Dakara and Daniel knew Teal'c was itching to help his people establish the Free Jaffa as a nation and it was only a matter of time before he left. Jonas was now married and Daniel suspected the man would be starting a family soon. And Daniel, well now that everything seemed settled in the Milky Way, maybe he could finally go to Atlantis and be of some help there. SG-1 didn't need him as they once did.
Earth didn't need SG-1 as it once did.
He would miss them all, but it was time to move onto the next chapter of their lives. It made Daniel a little sad that this probably be one of the last times all of them would be together like this for a while, but he was also excited to see what laid ahead.
But for now, he would enjoy Jonas' wedding, enjoying the family they all had created from scratch.
