Draco had decided not to go to breakfast this morning, as he wasn't sure if it was going to be awkward to see Harry and Ginny pretending to be a married couple again. Especially after he and Harry had spent the night together, and they had kissed.

He ended up going to a little coffee shop in town instead, and even though it's a big day, and they have a lot to do, it was nice to be able to sit down and have some time on his own to think about what had happened. Not that trying to gather his thoughts had done any good though, as he was still as confused as before by the time he had to run back to get ready for the wedding.

Even though the boys were staying in the same cabin, and they had clearly already seen each other the night and morning before the wedding, they did want to spend some time apart while they were getting ready to still have that element of surprise when they were to see each other again at the wedding.

Albus was getting ready at James and Teddy's cabin, but Scorpius had asked Draco to come over to help him get ready.

Draco is still not feeling like himself, what with losing his job, being pregnant and whatever you can call it that is happening between Harry and him. But Scorpius wanting to spend this moment with him on the day of his wedding means the absolute world to him, so he pushes aside his own worries for the moment as he heads over to the boys' cabin.

"Oh, wow!" Scorpius smiles broadly when he opens the door. "That suit…"

Draco feels a little embarrassed, because none of his good suits fit anymore, and he only found this dark gray suit the other week - the print of it helping to cover up his bump. It's not fancy enough for a Winter Wonderland Wedding though, and he almost apologises for embarrassing his son by showing up to his wedding dressed like that.

"I love it!" Scorpius exclaims, before pulling him into a hug. The words take a moment to get through to Draco, but when they do, he hugs his son back, relieved to not have let him down.

When they let go of each other, Scorpius glances down at his stomach-area for just a split-second, and Draco can tell that he has felt something - that he is suspecting something. A small smile forms on his son's lips, but he doesn't mention anything as he lets him into the cabin.

He wasn't planning on telling Scorpius about the pregnancy yet though, especially not on the day of his wedding, and when he changes the subject by bringing up how lucky they are that the weather is nice today, he is happy enough to play along. He knows they will have to talk about it soon, but today is not the day for that conversation.

"What do you think?" Scorpius asks, a proud smile on his face as he shows his father his suit. "I know it's not very traditional, but…"

"It's perfect," Draco interrupts. "I'm not sure this will go with it though, but…"

"What will go with it?"

Scorpius is checking himself out in the mirror, holding the suit up in front of himself, so he doesn't notice that Draco is taking a little black box out of his pocket.

"This." Draco smiles to himself, and Scorpius' curiosity finally makes him turn around to see what his father is talking about.

He practically throws his suit down on the bed, before sitting down next to Draco on the other side of the bed, his eyes gleaming with excitement.

"You don't have to wear this today," Draco says, before handing the box over to his son. "But this was your mother's, and I know she would have wanted you to have it." He sighs, choking up thinking about her. It's been years, and most days there is a lingering pain that has now become such a part of his life that he's not always aware of it anymore. But it's moments like these when the pain feels as raw as the day she died. When they get faced with the things she is missing out on - the moments where she is missed the most.

Scorpius opens the black box, and when he finds his mother's brooch in there - the one she was most proud of - the tears start streaming down his face.

"Are you sure you want me to have it?" he asks through his tears. "I know that mum…"

"It's yours, Scorp." Draco smiles, before pulling his son into his arms for another hug.

Astoria had always worn the brooch - which is embedded with a large red diamond - with pride, and when she had worn it while pregnant, she had once mentioned how she hoped to pass it on to her daughter on the day of her wedding. However, when Scorpius was born, she hadn't mentioned this again, but Draco had always remembered the comment, and he knows how much it would mean to her to know that her brooch was passed down to their child on their wedding day - even if not exactly in the way she had imagined it.

"I wish mum was here," Scorpius says as he wipes the tears from his face - his eyes still glued to the shiny red brooch.

"Me too." Draco nods, and no matter his current situation and whatever may be happening between Harry and him, he would give anything to have Astoria here today. "She would have loved Albus."

"Do you really think so?" Scorpius asks, his face lighting up at the name of his soon-to-be husband.

"I know so."

"Do you like him?"

"Why?" Draco asks. "You're not having second thoughts about the wedding, are you?"

"No, of course not!" Scorpius chuckles, but then his smile fades. "It's just that you've been quieter than usual this week, and you seem… I'm not sure. You seem upset. Are you upset that I'm getting married?"

"I'm not," Draco sighs.

"But?"

"But nothing," Draco reassures him, and he gives his hand a tight squeeze. "I'm just a little emotional, that's all."

"You'd tell me, right? If something was wrong?"

Draco can't help but notice his son glancing down at his belly again, and he wishes he could tell him everything - from the fact that he is pregnant, to what is going on between him and Harry - but from the look on Scorpius' face he can tell that he doesn't have to say anything, because he already knows.

"I'm okay," he reassures him again. "And I am happy for you, Scorp."

"Even though I'm marrying Harry's son?"

"Why would you say that?" Draco chuckles, a little awkwardly.

"You used to hate him, right? When you were at Hogwarts."

Draco can't help but smile, especially after how much things have changed between Harry and him over these last few days.

"We were not exactly friends, no, but I don't hate the man," he laughs. "It's actually been nice to see him again."

"Oh, yeah?" Scorpius grins. "How nice?"

"Scorp!" Draco laughs, recognising that look on his face all too well.

"I know that he stayed with you last night."

"How?"

"I saw him sneak out of your cabin." Scorpius grins. "So?"

"Don't even go there!" Draco laughs. "He's married, remember? And he's the father of your fiancé."

"Oh, please." Scorpius rolls his eyes, and Draco can't help but wonder how much he and Albus know about Harry and Ginny's issues, and whether this whole act Harry and Ginny are putting up for the wedding is necessary at all. He's not going to bring it up though, nor is he going to answer any of Scorpius' questions, as he's not even sure himself as to what exactly happened last night.

"I think it's time for you to get ready, don't you?"

Draco feels himself choke up again when Scorpius has changed, and he is pinning his mother's brooch to his suit. The red diamond clashes with the colour of his suit, but even though Draco reassured him he didn't have to, he insisted on wearing it today.

He still remembers his own wedding, but it had been nothing like this. There had been no family to support them and no suits or wedding dresses, as they had snuck off together. He didn't mind, because all that mattered to him was that they were married, but he could tell that it always stayed painful to Astoria, because it was far from the wedding she had always dreamed of. So it means a lot to know that Scorpius will get his big Winter Wonderland Wedding, and he knows that it would have meant a lot to Astoria too.

"How does it look?" Scorpius asks, an excited, but nervous smile on his face. "I hope Al will like it."

"You look great, Scorp," Draco tells him, wanting nothing more than to wrap his arms around him and hug for at least an hour. But his suit looks so crisp - so expensive - and he doesn't want to do anything to ruin that.

Scorpius doesn't seem to care about his suit though, because he lets himself fall into his father's arms, unable to hold back the nervous laughter now that he's less than an hour away from marrying Albus.
