Long time no see.

Been chaotic the past couple of years. A Lot has happened.

We had to move 4 times.

Twice in one year, I had to look for work a couple of times because of the move and now I'm a bit settled.

This story will be done in the next fall weeks/months.

I found it and read it all over again and can't stop thinking about it so just wait a little bit longer.

Ps. Im sorry for the long as wait.

Voices could be heard as Raven struggled to regain her composure. She almost lost it and needed to calm down. But, she couldn't; her emotions were all over the place all day. It didn't help that Robin was currently yelling. Turning to the leader, she made a face.

"Can you find him?"

"I don't know?" she replied. Azar hoped she could. Starfire grabbed Robin, pulling him away from Raven.

"You must focus," she told him.

"What did you do?" Robin yelled at Mumbo.

"Let me go and you can have him back," Mumbo laughed in return.

"Don't mess with me!" Robin responded, Star still holding him back.

"Nice try, traffic light. But, you don't scare me."

"Just tell me...where did you send him?" Robin Demand.

Mambo shrugged, glancing around - he was already done with the conversation. Robin replayed the previous moments in his mind, trying to see if there were any clues. Beastboy was taken off the stage. He had been running towards Raven after he had gotten the hostage out; she hadn't seen Mumbo's magic rope coming from behind her. Beastboy had shoved her out of the way and grabbed the rope. He had been taken into Mumbo's hat.

Enraged, Raven had yelled Beastboy's name before slamming Mumbo into the floor and then the wall. With Starfire, Robin had been able to stop her from continuing further. When calmer, Raven lifted Mumbo's hat and looked inside - it was empty.

"Where is he?" she said, her tone demanding. Mumbo smiled, his legs shaking. He was starting to get scared.

"I'm not sure." Raven narrowed her eyes. "Look, you damage the hat so he can be anywhere at this point. Next time let me finish my trick."

She closed her eyes and went to the corner that Beastboy had been in. She focused, trying to sense anything. He had to have been sent to another dimension. She would have been fine with that if her magic was similar to Mumbo's. But, it wasn't.

Why are you always in front of anything heading my way?

"You can't find him, can you?" Mumbo laughed. Even as Raven focused, picturing pulling an animal from the hat, nothing happened. "All that power and you can't find your ugly elf."

"I need him to shut up so I can focus, Robin!" Raven yelled.

"Answer us, now!" Robin said, striking the villain. Mumbo continued to laugh.

"I don't remember your question?" he teased. Robin lifted his gloved hand, ready to strike again. He stopped, knowing that he had to be better. Starfire seemed happy that he stopped. Robin sighed, taking a step back and checking on the hostage.

"Don't think you can escape me, Mumbo," Raven said, lifting a hand of glowing black energy. Red sparks started to flicker in the darkness. "If you won't tell me where he is, I will take a look in your head." Light bulbs cracked, ready to explode. The ground shook slightly as Mumbo started to quiver, fearing for his life. "Hope you're not so weak-minded. I might just destroy you from the inside out first." She smiled, her eyes turning blood red.

"Come on, kid. You know a magician can't reveal their secrets," he replied, trying to reason with her. He backed up against the wall, unable to wiggle any further.

"Oh but you must tell me now. I'm dying to know," Raven said, her voice getting darker. "Or, better, you will be."

"Raven, let's talk about this. We can strike a deal!" Mumbo said, his voice shaking. She tilted her head, getting closer to him. She was playing with the mage. Every time he tried to shove himself further into the wall, she simply moved closer.

"Raven, please. Please…"

"You know, fear is a good look on you."

"Raven, please. He's not hurt at all. I promise you!"

"Hush. I'll take all the information I need. Don't worry, you won't even remember yourself after this."

"Raven!" Starfire shouted. She had noticed objects had begun to float. Starfire rushed to her friend's side. "You mustn't, Raven. Please, calm yourself." She held her arm, remaining close to her. Raven breathed, feeling the rage still there.

"Thank you, Star."

"Please go to the tower. Robin and I will take care of things from here."

"No. I need information and he has it," Raven said. She turned to a panicked Mumbo, "Are you willing to talk or should I send you to another dimension?"

"He's in my coat pocket!" the mage said, whimpering. Raven arched his brow. "Please, I swear I'm not lying to you. Just take him!"

Starfire grabbed Mumbo's coat off the floor and dug into the pocket. Beastboy came flying out, thudding onto the ground.

"Ow! What happened?"

"Beastboy, are you OK?" Starfire asked. She dropped the coat, approaching him.

"Well, yeah. But, what happened?" he asked. He looked over at Raven and gave a warm smile.

Raven wasn't sure how to feel but the emotions hit her hard. She feared losing Beastboy but was happy he was back. She was angry that he was an idiot but thankful he was okay. She walked to him as Starfire took Mumbo out. She raised her hand and Beastboy flinched, ready for a slap. Instead, Raven stood still, her hand raised and her eyes on the ground. Beastboy opened his eyes, wondering where the slap was. She slowly put her hands down.

"Please don't do something like that ever again."

"I can't help it," he said. He figured she was talking about Mumbo's last attack, "I'm a hero. It's kinda what I do."

"Idiot."

"I know," he said, laughing, "But I'll do it again."

Raven froze.

"I have to go," she said. Instantly, she warped herself out of the bank. Beastboy stood, scratching his head.

He scratched his head. "Uhh…What happened?"

Raven appeared in her room and quickly sat on the bed. She almost lost it and needed an answer. She looked at the music box and sighed. Just moments ago she was seeking comfort in Beastboy. She needed to relax. Raven allowed herself to float, going into the Nevermore.

Beastboy had stepped out of the bank to see the truck drive off. Robin was talking to the police and Starfire was dealing with some fans. He made his way to Starfire but was stopped by his fangirls.

"Beastboy! Beastboy! What happened? Why did it take so long for you to get out? Can you sign my shirt, please? Can you take a picture with me? Can I have your autograph, please? I'm your biggest fan! Sign here!"

"Sorry, girls. But I'm needed elsewhere right now. I have to fly."

"Aw, come on! At least give us something. Let me give you my number!"

Beastboy didn't bother to reply, he had much more important things to do. He knew something was wrong with Raven and he needed answers. Becoming a bird, he flew to a nearby rooftop. Starfire was still in the spotlight, speaking to fans; he wasn't sure how she could do it for so long.

Once the crowd dispersed, he dropped down and joined Robin to be driven home.

"You OK?" Robin asked, eyeing Beastboy in the back seat.

"Yeah. But, what happened when I was gone?"

"I don't know. I was dealing with Mumbo. I had to leave before I broke a bone."

Starfire knew what he was asking about but didn't want to say something Raven would not approve of. With Robin involved, it would only be harder for Beastboy to help Raven. She was going to wait for the right time to speak.

When they arrived at the tower, Robin took Beastboy for the day. They were in the training room and went at it nonstop. Star tried to go to Raven but the empath wouldn't open her door.

She was sure, after waiting quite a while. Robin and Beastboy had lost track of time at some point. Starfire was unsure what to do but she was sure that Beastboy would be able to help Raven somehow.

After waiting past the usual lunchtime, Starfire finally went towards the training room to see what they were up to. She walked past Raven's room, feeling useless.

Robin was training with Beastboy, helping him adapt more with his beast side. He was pushing him further but the results were lackluster at best. He wasn't sure if Beastboy was doing it on purpose or not but he was getting frustrated. It didn't take long for Robin to give up.

"Come on, Beastboy. Go all out like yesterday," Robin said, drawing out his staff. He wasn't playing around anymore.

"Why?" Beastboy asked, sighing.

"No reason. I just want a rematch." Everyone knows about Robin's competitive side.

"Really? Cause if you do, you're going to have a bad time," Beastboy said. He smirked, tucking his hands behind his back.

"I wasn't sure what I was getting into before."

"So you really wanna make it 2 and 0, huh?"

Robin said nothing but he braced himself to fight. He needed to see what Beastboy could do if he used his powers as he did before. He knew it was strong and fast. But he wasn't sure how long Beastboy could keep it up or how far he pushed himself. Would it make him look like a jerk maybe? But more importantly, he needed to understand how this affected Beastboy.

Was it something he could rely on when in combat against a villain or is it too much of a wild card?

But, most of all, Robin needed to win. He saw this as a challenge that he was excited to take on. Beastboy was always easy to read and he was a joker. He was like a little brother to Robin. But now, he was strong, clever, and becoming a true hero. He had seen Beastboy shine with the brotherhood and grow into a man.

Beastboy closed his eyes and found it funny. He feared showing this side of him ever since the beast first came out. Of course, it was justified. With a breath, he opened his eyes and focused on his friend. Robin felt a sinking feeling; he was now prey. It already felt like he was being backed into a corner. Beastboy hadn't even moved yet but the air felt dense. Beastboy charged towards Robin and Robin followed in.

"Beastboy! I need to speak with you," Starfire said. Instantly, the focus was lost. Both boys looked over, disappointment clear in their faces.

"Star, can't it wait?" Robin asked.

"No! I must speak with him."

"But, like...five more minutes and I'll be yours," Beastboy said. He turned back to Robin. Starfire floated over, standing between them.

"We speak now!" she said, her tone serious. Robin straightened himself, approaching her.

"What's wrong?" He signed. Just when things were getting good.

"Go wait for me in my room," Starfire said, turning to Robin. Her tone was serious and it shook him. Her eyes were devilish; he knew.

"But, Star. You can whisper."

She blinked a few times, trying to keep her composure. Robin rarely denied her. She got closer and whispered, "Robin?"

"But we were going to," he stopped as Starfire placed a finger over his lips. She winked once.

Curse alien mating season! Curse hot alien princesses!

"Whatever you desire."

She stepped back and smiled.

"Beastboy, let's do this some other time. I have to go to my office and look at some files," Robin said. He was quick to leave, giving Starfire her time.

"But...What? Ugh, fine!" Beastboy said. He pouted, wondering what Starfire had said to their leader. "So, what is it, Star? Is it Raven?" The look in her eyes was enough.

"It is when you were captured by Mumbo."

"What happened then, Star?"

"I was hoping to speak to her about it but Raven has not answered her door. I wish for you to speak with her."

"Ok, I will. But, will you tell me what happened?"

"I fear that explaining things will only make everything worse."

He nodded, understanding her reasoning. He knew that if she was this concerned, then there was a good reason.

"Okay. Should I go to her now or give her some time to process everything? Also, if she still doesn't answer me, I will need some details from you." He was picking up his shirt and water bottle.

"I agree."

"I'm not sure if she will let me into her head right now," Beastboy said, glancing at the time. He scratched the back of his head. "She might not come out anytime soon so better lure her out with some tea. Maybe offer her some lunch, too."

At that point, Beastboy was talking to himself. Starfire watched the levels of thought he put into helping her close friend. She found it cute and it reminded her of Robin when they first became friends. He was always prepared and detailed with all plans. It showed how much care he had for Raven.

"Beastboy, if you would be so kind, please have lunch with me as well."

"Huh? Sure. I can make it for the whole team."

Beastboy left to his room first, being quick to clean himself up. He wondered if Raven would even speak to him about earlier. He needed some information and Raven was the one with the answers. He hoped it wouldn't take her a day or two to tell him what was going on.

As he sat on his bed for a few moments, he reminded himself of a night a few years back. He had opened up to Raven then, initially just staying up in the commons. He wasn't playing a video game or watching something on the TV. He simply stayed up, watching the crescent moon playing behind the clouds.

Raven had come by but he didn't turn to see her. At that time, she had been more distant. Cyborg knew it affected him but didn't say anything. He was just the beginning of a crush back then.

Although then she didn't say anything, Raven kept her eye on him. He wasn't sure what to do but she had looked lonely as of late.

"Want to sit down and watch the moon if you can't sleep?" he offered. Raven didn't respond. She made her tea and was quick to leave. It didn't surprise him at all. Asking Raven to spend time with him was a shot in the dark. He continued to stay there for another 10-15 minutes before the door opened. Honestly, by then, he thought it was Cyborg or Robin.

But then he didn't hear any footsteps and assumed it was Starfire. He was wrong; Raven sat down next to him. She had changed into pajamas, cloak still on her shoulders. He wasn't sure what to say and opted to stay silent, watching the moon. Raven seemed to be troubled. He knew that. Raven was always troubled.

"You know most nights I sneak out of the tower for a little fresh air."

Raven remained silent, watching her green friend.

"I go around and I guess I kinda patrol? I usually go to the forest."

"..."

"There is an old man that used to live in the forest. Did you know that?"

Raven nodded. She had heard of the story of the hermit in the woods.

"I didn't go to see him or anything. Most of the time I didn't even see him. He found me and we just talked...about everything. He told me about his life. How the world drove him nuts and he was working crap jobs. I guess it was all just stuff normal people go through."

"..."

"He almost forgot his name and no one said it in 28 years. A while back he told me something that I never thought I would hear."

"What?" Raven asked, speaking softly.

"He told me that I was lonely."

Raven glanced over, confused. Beastboy was the most outgoing of the group besides Cyborg.

"I know, it's weird. I asked him how since I have so many fans, best friends and I'm always smiling. He laughed and told me, "Kid, I've been out here for 46 years now. I may not know much about this new world anymore but I know the face you have, is the same as mine when I visit my wife's grave. You look at the moon as if you're missing your other half. Like a wolf calling out for his lost partner."

Raven remained quiet, eyes slighter wider.

"He took me to his wife's grave and it was near a lake. You know...the big one next to the mountains. He spoke to her about his day and how much he missed her. He was smiling but you could just see the sadness. It was in his eyes. He was lonely without her. And after all of that, he offered me coffee and it was too black. He gave me tea that was OK...Not the best but not too bad either."

"Why are you telling me this?" Raven finally asked.

"Cause you have the same look in your eyes. You're lonely like me and we have no one to talk to most of the time. So at least talk to each other."

"So you can make me mad again?" Raven replied, tilting her head over to him.

"Yeah...I'm bad at keeping conversations with you. But, I want to talk to you like I do with the others. I'm sick of the fights. I just want to get to know the girl that sent me through another dimension."

He could tell her mind was starting to race. He wasn't sure if she was going to take his options since she was so quiet.

"Tell me more about the old man."

He gave a soft smile Raven knew that smile was false but he began to tell her everything he knew. They went on for quite a while. He told her what the old man did to survive in the forest. How he fished and how he went to the nearby town to get a small cake for his wife's birthday. Everything was fine till he came to a sudden stop.

"What's wrong?"

"He died about a week ago," he answered. Raven looked as if she was hurt, as if she lost a friend, "I found him in his bed where he passed away. I buried him next to his wife."

"Is that why you shut yourself in the room last Monday?"

"Yeah...He always said it was nice to talk to someone when I came to visit. That's why I would like to talk to you. I don't want you to be lonely like he was. I guess it's nice for me, too. I need someone to talk to now and then."

"It would be nice to have someone other than Star to talk to," he continued. Raven stood up, still as silent. It was so small but he cherished this moment with her.

Beastboy hopped off his bed and made his way towards Raven's room. He knocked at her door, waiting for a response."

"Hey, Rae. It's time for lunch! Are you coming?"

When he didn't get a response he wasn't so surprised. He pressed his ear against the door, listening to her move on the bed.

"Raven, come on. I know you're in there."

The door opened and Beastboy walked in. He spotted the lit candles and Raven nearby, sitting in her lotus pose. She had sadness written all over.

"What is it?"

"Lunch. Come on, let's go. We didn't get to eat in the morning thanks to Mumbo."

She remained still.

"I know you're hungry."

"I need to meditate."

"Don't make me bring out the big guns," he warned. He flexed and she started to flush.

"What are you going to do?"

"Two options," he started, holding up two fingers, "If you come willingly I will make your tea and lunch. If not then I'll pick you up and take you myself. But you won't get any tea."

"You wouldn't dare."

"Do you really want to find out?" he asked. He walked up to her and leaned forward, dipping to her eye level. Raven didn't buy his bluff and closed her eyes. A minute passed and Beastboy was still in the room. She felt her bed move and saw a small green kitten walking around her legs. She didn't seem to mind this as much; it helped with her mental turmoil.

Beastboy waited a bit longer. He wanted her to adjust and get comfortable with him up close. Once he was behind her, he turned back to his normal self and lifted her bridal style. She started to kick and scream, taken completely by surprise.

"What are you doing?" she yelped. She kicks and pushes away from him, her fists against his chest. He found it absolutely adorable.

"Wow calm down, Rae. I don't want to drop you. You know you have the cutest face on right now, right?"

She covered her face, her blush dark against her skin.

"Fine. Just put me down and I'll go!"

"Why are you so embarrassed? I did warn you that this would happen," he said. He was careful getting out the door, Raven still in his arms.

"Put me down, now!"

If anyone were to see her, she was sure she would die. With a shrug, he put her down gently.

"Looks like you're feeling better."

"More annoyed than anything. I need my cloak," she said. She wondered how he was easily able to flush away all her worries. After getting her cloak, Raven joined Beastboy in the hall.

When did he get so cool?

"He's always been cool! Just a little goofy but cool always!" Happy said, sighing in Raven's head. She submerged herself in the conversation and Beastboy was quick to notice.

Wow. That worked. I can't believe I lived after that.

As they entered the common room, Beastboy expected the rest of the team. He was met by an empty room.

"Guess it's just us then. What would you like to eat?" He asked, putting on an apron.

"Anything would do, honestly. I would just like for you to make me some tea."

"Sure thing. Come here and I'll show you how to do it," he said. He saw her eyes narrow instantly, "If you want to, that is?"

"Sure," she said. She leaned over the counter and watched him bring the ingredients. "Sundried, please."

"It would be my pleasure," Beastboy said as he set the water to boil. He made note that Raven was looking out at the nearby window; she still had a lot on her mind. He just didn't know how to ask. Maybe she just needed some time. He also knew that Starfire wouldn't have to come to him for this if it wasn't serious.

"What?"

"Hm?"

"You're staring at me."

"Oh. Sorry," Beastboy said, turning around. His next words were spoken very softly, "You're just so beautiful. It's hard not to."

It was so soft but Raven heard it. Her face turned crimson and she rushed to cover herself. She couldn't even contain the silly smile on her face. With her hood on, she hoped she was covering herself enough.

Why does he affect me this much? Aqualad doesn't. Redstar doesn't either. Much less even Speedy so why him?

She looked over at him and thanked Azarath that Beastboy's suit was skin tight.

Oh. No no no.

She needed to focus on anything else. She needed a book to help keep her mind off of him. The tea kettle started to shriek and Beastboy went over to it. He turned over to her, smiling.

"Ok. Let's begin," he said. She nodded and removed her hood, finally calm enough. "What you want to do first is put a little sugar in the water and then a hint of caramel. If you don't like it too sweet then two teaspoons of sugar and a pinch of caramel is enough."

She didn't pay attention as much. Her focus was solely on Beastboy but anything but the tea he was prepping. He was smiling and his fang was out. The fan-girls always seemed to love it. It also worked on Raven and she was sure Starfire knew (and kept it a secret!). The tips of his ears were red and she knew from the color that he was enjoying himself. His eyes were large and his pupils seemed to grow; she was getting lost in them easily.

"And that's how you make it!" he finished, handing her a cup.

"Thank you," she said. She sipped at her tea while he made lunch. Raven returned her gaze to the window. She never thought she would see the day where Beastboy would sit next to her and drink tea. He had placed a small plate of waffles and fruits next to her. He had an even small plate of toast with a few jams. She was surprised by the amount of food but it was his gesture of kindness; she needed it after this morning. Rage had gained too much power so quickly that she had lost it. Sure, she could blame this all on Rage but at the end of the day, this was still Raven. She was about to destroy a man's mind with ease.

Lunch was silent and Beastboy could tell that was what Raven needed. Robin and Starfire didn't show but it didn't seem to matter so much to him. Beastboy wanted to focus on Raven. He cleaned up after they finished eating and let her soak up the peace for a bit longer. Raven went up and he figured it was time to do it in her mind again. the walk together but in the crossway, Raven Spoke.

"Sorry. We're skipping today," she said, her face emotionless.

"Why?" he asked. Raven making her way toward her room. He stopped it. "Raven."

With a rush of magic, she pushed him out of the way.

"Beastboy, I need to be alone."

He watched the door in disbelief. Everything seemed to be going on so well.

"I'm missing something," he said. Sighing, Beastboy left for his room. Without much to do, he sat on his bed. Beastboy left Starfire a message and then started to play his guitar. He was hoping time would fly.

Starfire woke up around five, shifting in bed. Robin was quick to wake up, turning to kiss her on the forehead.

"I'll be in the commons," he said, slowly getting out of bed. He paused in his first step, rubbing his messy hair, "I won't belong."

Starfire giggled, enjoying seeing him so relaxed. Rarely did he just relax and this was something he sorely needed. She jumped into the shower, happy that she was the first one to use it this time. When drying her hair, Starfire saw the message from Beastboy.

"Oh, I hoped everything went well," she mumbled. Starfire put on her uniform and went to his room. Beastboy rarely locked his door. Still, she knocked and waited for an answer. When she didn't get a response, she went to the common room to join Robin. He was still, watching the news from the big screen. The main computer was up and running, scanning for crimes for the Titans. She floated behind him, hugging the male.

"Did you sleep well?" he asked her.

"I did, thanks to you."

"So, what do you want to eat? I know we skipped lunch."

"I'm not sure. Have you eaten yet, Robin?"

"No. I was waiting for you."

Starfire smiled, happy that he waited for her. But, she needed to find Beastboy first.

"I will return soon. I must locate Beastboy," she said, stepping back.

"He's on the roof, I think."

"Thank you, my love," she said. Starfire blew him a kiss before flying out of the room. Robin watched her leave, a meaningful look in his eyes.

"I need to get that ring."

Starfire flew up to the roof, feeling fantastic. She saw Beastboy at the edge, sitting with a bag of chips and a guitar on him.

"Hey, Star. How did you sleep?"

"Wonderfully," Starfire answered, blushing. That one-word response was enough for Beastboy to understand. He stopped strumming his guitar and looked out to the bay.

"Can you tell me what happened?"

"I am sorry, Beastboy. It is not my intention to keep you in the dark. Let us begin," she said. telling him what she saw. From her reaction to Beastboy being taken by Mumbo to what could have happened to the villain. After she explained it, he remained silent; she started to worry. "What are you going to do, friend?"

"I don't know. Raven asked for space and I want to give it to her. But, I want to talk to her about it, too."

"It is a difficult choice, yes."

"The promise," he mumbled.

"What promise?"

"I know what to do. Just try to talk to her again, please."

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah. Just do it before you go to sleep."

The two split. Beastboy went to his room and Starfire went to eat with Robin. Raven never came down for dinner and Beastboy expected this. He was relaxing on the sofa like always with Robin and Starfire nearby, chatting away. Time seemed to fly and soon enough it was late. The team dispersed into their rooms; Starfire made a pit stop to Raven's room. She was nervous but wanted to help Beastboy. She had faith in him.

"Raven," Starfire said, knocking at her friend's door, "I wish to speak with you." She knocked a few more times, waiting for some response, "Please, my friend. I am worried and fear something may have happened to you."

"I'm fine, Starfire. Thank you but don't worry."

"Can I at least see you? This would calm my worries and Beastboy's as well."

"Tell him I'm fine," Raven said, opening the door, "Thank you for the space." She looked tired, Starfire noted. It looked like she had been meditating for a while; her skin was a bit paler than usual.

"Raven, you must at least eat," Starfire said. She didn't dare say anything about her friend's appearance. Raven knew that Starfire was right - she needed food and it sounded amazing. With a little more convincing, Starfire managed to bring her friend to the kitchen. Raven made herself some tea whilst Starfire waited for her friend to speak.

"Beastboy made you dinner."

"He did?"

"Yes. He made jasmine rice with pork and some greens," Starfire replied, taking out a plate.

"He cooked meat again?"

"Oh yes. It was delicious. Robin and I asked him to go get you but you said you needed some space. We did not want to disturb you."

Raven eyed the full plate that Starfire prepped for her. She would have loved to be there. The plate that Starfire had even had a small note attached to the side.

If you're going to reheat the meat, just put it on the frying pan with a bit of oil. Or just use the microwave.

Raven turned to Starfire who had found Silkie and began to play with the bug.

Taking the challenge, Raven grabbed a frying pan and began. She put the rice in the microwave, not wanting to mess that up at least. When the pan was hot enough, she added in a bit too much oil and then the pork. It seemed a bit much but she was focused.

"Raven, are you sure you can?"

"Star, I'm focusing," she replied. Raven could already smell the delicious pork and she wanted to get it right. Just by the smell alone, she knew this would be delicious.

"I believe it is time to flip the meat," Starfire said, handing Raven a spatula.

"Oh, Azar. I forgot I had to do the other side."

"If you don't, the other side will be cold. I do not think that's how it should be done."

I defeated my father. This should be nothing.

With a burst of courage, Raven flipped the meat and saw only a small burn on the heated other side; she sighed in relief.

"I'm doing it," she mumbled. Raven seemed to ease up and rest was natural to her. Setting the heated up meat next to the cooked rice, she felt proud. With a fork, she finally dug in, savoring the flavors.

"Would you like to speak about this morning now, friend?" Starfire offered. Raven paused with the next bite. Sadness was quick to wash over.

"I don't know if I should tell Beastboy how I feel after today."

"Do you trust him?"

"I do."

"Then you should have no fear. I believe you should speak with him soon, Raven. For he is the only one that can calm your mind."

Starfire stood, setting Silkie down. Raven was about to speak but Starfire shook her head, turning to leave. When she was gone, Raven returned to her dinner.

"Why did she have to say it like that?"

After eating, she lingered for a little bit longer to finish her tea. With everything cleaned up, Raven went to her room. She was deep in thought, thinking about Beastboy.

But is he even awake?

Raven stopped walking, spotting him by her door.

"Hey. Are you feeling better?" he asked, smiling at her. She found it beautiful.

"Uh? What are you doing here?"

"I was going to do something stupid," he said, looking down in shame. She opened her door and leaned against the frame, waiting for an explanation. He didn't seem to want to speak about it.

"Beastboy, what is it?"

"Well, I was kinda thinking of slipping into Nevermore while you were with Star."

"Are you crazy?"

"I know, I know," he responded, holding his hands up in defeat, "But I needed to know what happened and you didn't want to talk. So I figured the next bet was speaking to your emotions. I mean Happy or Knowledge. They would have told me how to make you feel better."

"Why would you tell me all this?" she asked.

"I...I just want you to know that I trust and respect you. I don't want to ruin the friendship we have. It's important to me."

Her face softened at his words.

"I know I can't help with the magic side of things. But I'm good at listening when it comes to that. I'm just not sure what to say anymore and I'm sorry about this morning. But, I will never stop taking hits for you. I just can't."

She wasn't angry anymore. She felt better knowing that Beastboy held their friendship so close. He trusted her enough to tell her what he was planning. Soon, he stood and started to leave, his ears down and expression sad.

"Do you trust me?"

He paused, looking back.

"As much as Cy."

only as much as Cy." Envy spoke.

"Do you still want to go?"

"What?" he asked, confused.

"Nevermore, of course. I only have two to get my month of peace." His eyes lit up and his ears returned to normal.

"Are you sure? Isn't it late?

"Beastboy…"

"And tomorrow I have an early morning patrol." He said walking in.

"Beastboy?"

"I might just end up falling asleep in the training room from fatigue…" he stood by the dresser.

"Shut up and pick up the mirror."

"Are you coming Rae?" he asked.

"Don't call me That. Let's go," she said. She knew how dangerous Rage could be right now. She didn't want to leave him alone and she wanted more time with him today.

Quickly enough, the two were in the Nevermore. The emotions were nearby, wondering why Raven never told Beastboy to wear his standard uniform. He was there in his grey t-shirt and sweatpants. Then again, they were not ones to complain; they liked seeing him in it.

"Beastboy!" Happy yelled, running over to him.

"Hey, Happy."

"I'm so happy to see you!" she said, jumping into his arms. Soon, more hello and hugs were exchanged between the others. Lust held herself back but Timid did approach him for a hug with Envy. Beastboy glanced around, seeing 9 out of the 10 emotions.

"Where's Rage?" he asked.

"Well, it is supposed to be her day today," Love said, "But it might be best if we hang out instead." Brave nodded in agreement.

"Wait...why?"

"She became too strong when Raven was fighting Mumbo. We need time to calm her down," Knowledge explained.

"Is she OK?"

"Yes, she is alright Beastboy. But it might be best if we stay away regardless."

"Beastboy, just let it go. We are going to hang out for a bit tonight and then you can get some sleep, alright?" Raven said, walking away.

Is she still angry about something?

"So, where are we going?"

"We are going to Knowledge's world for a little bit to read and relax."

He hoped it would be something more fun than reading but when he was with so many Ravens, it wasn't so bad. As the group started the talk, Beastboy bumped into Love and flashed a smirk. She flushed instantly and bumped back. He loved to mess around with the Ravens, especially with Happy, Brave, Envy, a little bit of Lust, and even Wisdom. Raven herself was quick to notice how happy everyone was.

Earlier they feared me breaking the deal with them. And now it's like this idea never came up.

As they continued their walk, Beastboy spotted a larch archway.

"What realm is that?"

"Oh, that's mine," Envy replied, "But you can't go in there. You're not allowed."

"Ok, I guess," Beastboy said. He did understand; he didn't want anyone to see what he was jealous about. "Can't we just teleport to your realm, Knowledge?"

"You idiot. We like walking with you," Rude replied.

"Wait," he said, pausing and turning to Raven. His face lit up, "You do?"

"Yeah. You're entertaining to watch at least," she said, blushing.

As the group walked down Beastboy asked questions regarding the Nevermore. Raven didn't seem to mind answering them as long as it wasn't too personal. As she thought about it, she knew that he basically knew her info; her birth, her history, her powers, and even some of her fears.

As they approached the entrance to Knowledge's realm, they spotted Rage blocking the way.

"What are you doing?" Raven asked.

"I have a question…"

"You need to calm down, Rage. Your eyes haven't gone back to normal," Knowledge said.

"I have a question!"

"No!" Raven yelled. Happy and Timid were already pushing Beastboy back as the others took a combative stance. Rage stood still, allowing the others to corner her.

"Does this always happen?" Beastboy asked, concerned.

"Rage doesn't like going down without a fight," Happy answered.

"But she isn't fighting," Timid said. They all stood, waiting for Rage to do anything.

"Go back to your realm or I will restrain you."

Rage never replied. She had her four eyes on Beastboy, blood red and narrow. Wisdom stepped up, knowing there was more to Rage. Just by the stance Rage had, he knew that the emotion wasn't there to fight.

"Rage, you need to speak. We need to know why you're here."

"I can't," she said, flashing a deadly smirk. She was struggling to hold herself back. It was just like this morning with Beastboy.

"Raven, I think we should…."

"No."

Raven was still on her guard, barely registering Beastboy standing next to her.

"Rae?" he asked.

"Beastboy, get back. You're in danger."

"Rae, all she wants is an answer to her question. It's only fair."

"But, what if…"

"She's part of you. I trust her," he said, his tone serious. Raven didn't like the idea. She couldn't understand how Beastboy trusted Rage so easily. She was the evilest side of Raven; quick to lose it and destroy.

"Beastboy, I can't."

"Rae?" is all he said. The look in his eyes was enough to tell her that everything would be alright. She didn't understand why he started smiling but it was warm and put her at ease.

"Don't worry." She listened to him and she couldn't understand why. Yet her feet moved; she gave him space to walk forward. The emotions stood still as he approached Rage. He stopped at arm's length, following his animal instincts to an extent. His instinct told him to back away more but he knew better.

"You are an idiot," Rage said, slapping him across the face.

"Yeah...I had that coming."

"What's your question?" he asked. She clenched her hands, nails digging into the palms of her hands.

"What would you do if Raven lost it? If she lost herself to her demon side?"

She asked the one true fear Raven had. Beastboy didn't know how to react to the question.

"What would you do if you had to fight her?" Rage continued.

"I wouldn't know what to do," he answered. Rage sighed. "I don't have an answer and that makes me feel...conflicted. I guess I'll bring her back."

"And if you can't?"

"I'll try to stay close?" he replied. Raven's eyes widened. "I'm useless when it comes to magic and I would never want to fight Raven. But I will try to save her...even if it costs me everything."

"And if that's not enough?" Rage roared, tears forming in her eyes. Raven understood her angered form now. All these emotions and feelings she never wanted to tell Beastboy, everything that she had locked away.

"I don't know! Okay? I don't know but I'll do anything and everything to save her. I'll learn every damn spell I can find if that's what it takes to save her. But, if I can't….If I can't then I'll fight her…

"I know that she wouldn't want to be some demonic monster like her father. She wouldn't want to destroy any city. The Raven I know wouldn't let any of that happen. So I won't let her either. I'll take her down if I need to. And if she can't come back I'll stay by her."

He has the resolve to fight me if he has to…

This was what she needed to hear. He would stop her if he needed to. No matter how sad reality was, she was happy to hear it.

Rage remained silent; her eyes returned to normal. She looked sad but satisfied.

"How can you make up your mind like that?"

"Because if I ever lost myself to my Beast I would want the same thing," he answered.

"Thank you," Rage said. All the emotions were shocked and she showed no gratitude. She turned to leave but Beastboy stopped her.

"Is there anything you want to do before you go? It is your day."

Raven watched Rage step closer to Beastboy. She held her hand up and formed a dome around herself and Beastboy. Raven and her emotions were not sure what to make of it.

"Should we stop her?" Envy asked.

"No. We can let this one slide," Raven said. She had to believe in herself. If Beastboy did, she could too.

It felt weird being in the dome to Beastboy. It felt like he was being watched from all sides. He wasn't sure what Rage wanted to do at this point.

"I want to see him."

"What?"

"Your Beast. That's all I want."

"Uhh," he mumbled. He wasn't sure he could give her what she wanted.

"Can you do it?

YES, WE CAN.

Closing his eyes, Beastboy started to focus. Strangely enough, this was one of those rare times where the Beast didn't want to fight. He didn't want to roar to prove his strength. Beastboy opened his eyes and felt his Beast form.

"You're still there," she said.

"What…?"

"I want to speak to the Beast."

LET ME, PLEASE.

There was a change in the air as the Beast took control. He loomed over Rage, breathing deeply. She smiled, leaning into his fur. She could feel him purr in content as he sat down. Rage took a seat in his lap.

"We are the same, you and I," she said, "They fear the powers we have. What fools they are." Rage found it impressive how well Beastboy and the Beast are connected, they are close to one unit. She wonders if Beastboy really let the beast take over.

She stayed like that for a moment, savoring the feeling. Slowly, she started to stand, getting ready to leave. She knew he didn't want to leave just yet.

"What fools they are, what fool we are."

She backed away, feeling the change as Beastboy took control again. He returned to his normal form, looking calm. She wondered if he knew what happened.

"You good?" he asked her. Her eyes narrowed as she felt anger again.

"No, you idiot. But," she softened her expression "That was enough."

The dome disappeared and once more, Rage and Beastboy were spotted by the emotions. Rage turned, walking away without another word.

"What happened?" Timid asked. Beastboy didn't answer. This was something private between himself and Rage.

"I don't know," he lied, "But she called me an idiot."

It was an odd answer but they could never have an explanation with Rage involved. It didn't seem to matter to Raven; her mind was clear. Beastboy had given her the answer she didn't know she wanted. She respected him more.

In Knowledge's realm, Raven sat nearby as Beastboy talked and had a good time with her emotions. She wondered what they would do after the deal was over with. Would they go back to normal? In the last couple of days, it had been so eventful and somewhat...fun? Was fun the right word she thought? With Beastboy so close as of late, she had learned much more about himself. He told her things no one knew and she learned more of herself.

Envy and Happy chatted away with Beastboy, discussing games. Rude, Lust, and TImid had long dozed off, napping nearby. Knowledge and Wisdom remained close, reading peacefully. Brave had leaned back in her chair, watching comfortably.

"It's funny," Love said.

"What is?" Asked the Raven's

"I never thought Beastboy would be coming here for fun." Love explains.

"Yeah. It's really enjoyable," said Wisdom.

"What are you going to do after tomorrow?" Knowledge asks.

"I don't know.."

"Raven, you know he has great affection for you, yes?" Love needed Raven to believe that.

"And if it's not what it seems?"

"You don't even think that anymore. You have more reason to try now than ever before," Love said. She stood from her seat, going to Beastboy. Looking at the scene before her, Raven felt happy.

"Just one more day…"
