After saying goodbye to Albus and Scorpius again, Harry heads over to his car to go home. But when he spots Draco sitting on a bench, clearly waiting for someone or something, he can't resist going over to him - even if only to have a better goodbye than the hurried 'I'll see you later' from that morning.

"Are you driving home with…," he begins, but when he realises that everyone has already left, and that it's just the boys who are left, he quickly changes his question. "How are you getting home?"

"The bus," Draco sighs, "I don't actually have a car."

"You're taking the bus all the way back to London?"

"Three buses, actually." Draco smiles, a little embarrassed. "It's fine. It really wasn't so bad to get here, so…"

"Come on, I'm driving you home." Harry grabs Draco's suitcase, not willing to give him a chance to reject his offer. "I insist."

"You don't have to do this, Harry."

"I do." Harry smiles. Even though London isn't exactly on the way for him, he's not going to let Draco sit here, waiting for the bus, is he? Especially not in his condition. "I was heading that way anyway."

"No, you weren't," Draco laughs, but he follows him to his car anyway. "But thank you."

After spending half the night kissing and touching, it feels a little awkward to have to sit next to each other for a few hours now, especially as it's obvious that they are both thinking about it but not wanting to bring it up because it will just lead to another discussion on why it cannot and should not happen again. It means that there is a clear tension in the car though, and even though Harry turns up the volume of the radio to break through the silence, it does absolutely nothing to help.

"The wedding was nice, wasn't it?" Draco finally tries.

"It was." Harry nods, trying hard not to mention that what had happened after the wedding was nice too. "They looked great too."

"They did…"

"The brooch Scorpius was wearing…"

"It was Astoria's," Draco says. His tone of voice changes, and when Harry looks over to him, he can't help but notice the tears in his eyes.

"I'm sorry she wasn't there to see them get married."

"Me too," Draco sighs. He stares out of the window, his thoughts clearly on Astoria, and even though Harry wants to ask about her, he doesn't want to upset him any more. It makes him feel useless though, because he has no idea what to say - his initial instinct being to grab Draco's hand or to park the car so he can take him into his arms. He doesn't want to cross the line though, so instead, all he can do is show him a sympathetic smile before looking back at the road.

"It's going to be weird, having to return to real life, isn't it?" Harry asks, still trying to make small talk when they are stuck in traffic hours later.

"I don't have much to return to," Draco chuckles awkwardly. "I am having to start over, so I'm not entirely sure what real life looks like at the moment."

"It's going to be a few exciting months for you, though."

"What?" Draco laughs, "Trying to find work… finding a place to live… I'm not sure that qualifies as exciting, exactly."

"I meant the baby," Harry points out, but from the smile on Draco's face he can tell that he knew exactly what he meant. "It's exciting, even if… you know…"

"I wasn't exactly planning on becoming a father again at my age?" Draco sighs. "But you're right. I can't wait for the day that she's here, and I can hold her in my arms… but that is still months away."

"It's going to be alright, you know?"

"Is it? I still have to tell Scorp. He is going to be…"

"Disappointed?" Harry guesses. "I'm sure that's not true."

Harry had never seen Draco and Scorpius together before that week, but as soon as he had seen them, it was obvious how much they care about each other. Draco had told him that they used to have their issues, but from the way Scorpius looked at him - from the proud look on his face, it was clear that all of that was long in the past. So Harry can't imagine that this could ruin things between them again, but he knows that it's easy for him to think so, as he's not the one who is pregnant, and he's not the one going through it all.

"Right!" Draco scoffs, and from the way he turns away from him to stare out of the window, it's clear that the conversation is over for him.

"I haven't been back here in years," Harry says, feeling anxious as soon as they drive into London. They had lived in different cities, some of them feeling even more crowded and rushed than London, but Harry could never get used to it. He only ever felt like he could breathe once they moved back to the countryside, where there was at least some peace and quiet - even with his marriage falling apart. Being back in the city makes him feel anxious, and if he were alone, he would have immediately turned around to go home. But he can't exactly drop Draco off here in the middle of the city with his things and make him walk the rest of the way, can he?

"I hate it," Draco admits. "I wanted a change after I lost my parents, and I enjoy that I get to be anonymous here. But it's just too…" He searches for the word to describe it, but he doesn't have to explain, because Harry understands how stressful London can be. "It was nice, starting over, but now that I have to find somewhere else to live…" He shrugs. "I can't imagine myself raising a child here, you know? I want to live somewhere where she can play outside, and where…" He seems to realise what he is saying, because he quickly stops himself. "Well, I'll be lucky if we have anywhere to live, so I can't really be making demands, can I?"

Harry almost brings up his offer to move in with him again, but he knows that Draco can't have forgotten about it. If he is still convinced that he is about to end up on the street - if he would rather choose that option, then it's clear that he's not interested. So he keeps quiet as he manoeuvres his car through the busy streets of London - his thoughts wandering off to what it would be like to have Draco living with him. To be able to see what he is like as a father, to be there to see his daughter grow up. To help him, and to be a part of his family.

It makes him feel even worse to have to say goodbye though, and by the time they reach Draco's flat, he feels like there are so many mixed emotions inside of him that he could just burst.

"Thank you," Draco says, a blush forming on his face. "For everything."

"You too." Harry nods. He wants to go in for a final kiss, just in case he never gets the chance again, but Draco seems to notice, because he flashes an apologetic smile before opening the car door - avoiding any chance of Harry kissing him.

Harry knows that the polite thing to do would be to get out too, and to help him carry his suitcase up the stairs, but he is hurt, and he fears that if he were to walk him to his flat, he would tell him everything that he is feeling right now. So he stays in his car, and he waits until Draco has gotten his suitcase before starting the car to drive off.

But just as he is about to leave, Draco steps out in front of the car. So Harry jumps out, his heart nearly beating out of his chest.

"What the hell! I could have hit you!" he yells at him, not because he's angry, but because he is still hurt, and the fact that Draco was stupid enough to jump out in front of a car - the thought of almost hitting him - makes him want to both punch him and take him in his arms to keep him safe.

"I'm sorry!" Draco quickly says, looking almost as panicked as Harry. But then he flashes a nervous smile, "The ehm… what you said, about me coming to live with you?"

"Yes?"

"Does the offer still stand?"

"Of course," Harry laughs, the situation so absurd that he isn't sure how he should react. Because Draco has had hours to bring this up, yet he chose to do it now? To jump in front of his car for it?

"It's a terrible idea though, isn't it?" Draco asks. "Us living together."

"It is." Harry agrees, unable to keep the smile from forming on his face when he sees the excited grin on the other man's face. "So, when are you moving in?"
