~With Rose~
Walking out of the greenhouse together, "So Ritsu, do you know the way out of here…I got lost and was just lucky to find this," glancing at him then back at the hedges. "Yeah, come on," Ritsu strode faster as he led the way out. I sprinted to catch up and fall into step with him. "Thanks, so why are you out here instead of getting lunch?" I swung my arms as we weaved through the maze.
Ritsu glanced at me with his mean look. "I could ask you the same thing…" causing silence to come over us. Ritsu grumbled. "Well, I was checking on the plants… I'm part of the gardening club" he abruptly stops. "Well, are you going to laugh!" blinking at the abrupt swing of emotions. "Why would I laugh at you? I'm not one to judge…plus I'm jealous of you being able to handle plants. Mine tends to die or get eaten by squirrels…" frowning at my shit luck of a green thumb.
"Also, my reason for being out here is because I think almost every girl hates me for some reason, plus this maze caught my curiosity…" turning to catch Ritsu's eyes. "Oh, well, it can't be that bad, right?" he scratched the back of his head, causing me to snort. "Believe me, it's bad…the poor plants don't have a chance. With the girls, I feel constant daggers in my back," crossing my arms pouting.
The exit came into view, causing a smile to grow as I jogged over. As we passed through it, I began to jump around celebrating "Yeah, no more wandering forever in that green horror house!" turning to Ritsu, I threw my arms around his neck, hugging him. Not noticing that his face contorted into a tomato but felt that he became statue-like the hug. Letting go, I backed away with my cheeks turning pink.
"Sorry about that" Ritsu turned his face away from me. "N…n…no problem. I have to go…goodbye" then took off running back to the maze, tripping a bit. Tilting my head, I watched his retreating figure, "Oh um goodbye, Ritsu?" pulling out my phone to see lunch ending *Oh maybe that is why he left in a hurry…hmm I should find a place to sit and eat still* glancing up from the phone screen to the scenery around.
Noticing a significant tree all by itself *There!* as I sauntered over to it. At the base, I plopped my bag next to it, then myself leaning on it. "So peaceful…" closing my eyes to rest. Upon opening them, two orange-haired boys bent in front of me, jumping at the sight. I rammed my head to the one on my left "Oww…what was that for!" he yelled, gripping the hit spot.
"Well, maybe if you didn't have your face close to mine, I wouldn't have it hit!" rebutting with annoyance laced in my voice glaring at him as we both rubbed our heads before he stomps off steaming *Well, isn't he lovely…how the hell does he work as a host?* turning to the remaining orange-haired boy who looked at me as his gaze softened. "You okay?" he leaned in to touch the spot where his brother and I collided.
"In a bit of pain, but I'll live…so why were you guys so close to me in the first place" eyeing the amber-eyed boy with a smile. He returned the grin. "Oh, milord asked us that if we see you then to give you this envelope" pulling out an orange envelope from his pocket and laid it in my lap. "Oh…yeah, why am I getting these today? So far, I have collected from Kyoya, Takashi, Blondie, Hunny, and now yours…well, also, your brother, if we didn't yell at each other like that," Counting the names on my fingers, then looked back at him.
"Blondie?" He raised a brow in amusement at the name "Well, milord wanted you to come to the Host Club. Since you are new, plus he wanted to talk to you…" then sat next to me, looking up to the sky, while I pulled out my lunch, opening it. "Yep, that is my nickname for him, and yes, I know I'm blonde too, but he fits it better…Ah, I guess this is the thing with Haruhi, right? I figured it was what happened yesterday," opening a bag of chips. "Hey, want one?" leaning the bag in his direction as I ate some.
Grinning, he took some "Eh, yeah, but it was pretty funny yesterday. I have never seen him freak out like that other than when Haruhi does it to him. Um, sorry about Hikaru back there…he" as he went to defend his brother. "Yeah, Blondie seems like an easy target. Also, no worries, he has a temper, right? Plus, it's just as my fault as his. I could've not yelled. So if he is Hikaru, then you are?" pulling a cookie out and biting it.
Holding out his hand, "Kaoru Hitachiin," grabbing it, I shook it. "Rose Night, nice to meet you, Kaoru" looking around to see if anyone was by us. "Uh, I have no problem if you want to stay and hang out," pulling out my thick math textbook. "But I should try and catch up on my math work…" glaring as the bane of my existence than to Kaoru.
"Well, I could try to help you…though I am a year younger than you" Kaoru's amber eyes scanned my face as it turned pink. "Sure, plus another brain may be able to see something that I cant…you sure you don't have to be anywhere?" trying to read his facial features.
Kaoru took my book. "Nah, it looks like you need me more" as he opened it. Shoving his shoulder with a smile, "Right then, my knight and shining armor, please help me with this wicked assignment!" jokingly pleaded as I got out my purple notebook.
Bowing his head, "Of course, my lady" Kaoru and I busted out in laughter, leaning on one another for support. Calming down, I looked up to catch his amber eyes looking into mine.
Our faces were close enough that our lips could touch with a small movement. Our eyes widen and quickly retreat, turning our heads in the opposite direction. My face burnt up as my heart began to beat faster than normal *Um…wow…* hiding behind my hair, I chose to peek through to steal a glance at Kaoru, who cleared his throat.
"R…right so…where did you leave off?" Kaoru flips open the math book finding it incredibly interesting. "Oh…um, I…left off here" leaning over, I point at the last problem that I was on *Why do I feel so awkward now?* as Kaoru began to explain how to solve the problem, I softly smile at him.
~With Kaoru~
My cheeks burned up quickly as I turned away from Rose *M…my heart is racing from* thinking back to what just happened to cause my face to become a darker shade. *Though she won't be able to tell the difference between Hikaru and me…but why do I…want her to* side glancing at her turned form and smiled *She's beautiful…* my eyes widen, realizing what I thought.
I cleared my throat to organize my thoughts, but I caught Rose's attention "R…right so…where did you leave off?" as I flipped open the math book and focused on the problems across the page. *Shit, I stuttered…I hope she missed that* when a finger came into view pointing at a question. "Oh…um, I…left off here," Rose answered softly. Nodding, I began to explain what she needed to do to solve the problem.
