Chapter Three…
(Netherworld Tower.)
23rd of June x782 - Netherworld Tower, Throne Room:
Natsu found himself, alongside Happy and Gnarl, slowly being floated down towards a lake of lava, where the floor was to be. Natsu panicked internally for a moment, until he saw the majority of the lava being covered with stone, making a smooth platform. Around the platform, there were fifteen Minions, cheering, ten browns, and three greens. Separating the platforms, from Natsu, were streams of lava. Leading or leaving, from what appeared to be a throne room.
The throne room itself was full of little besides that which was meant to enhance the atmosphere. Pillars, made of a dull, grey stone, and shining, luminescent silvers. The silver, etched in runes, blanketed the bottom and top of the pillars, connecting the floor and the ceiling. Flanking the pillars were carved stone walls. Covering two walls, close to the throne were crimson red banners, held by pieces of metal. "We will have to fill this place out" thought Natsu.
In front of Natsu, was a slightly elevated platform, made entirely of silver. The majority of which was a tad bit dull. Beside the platform, were two braziers that served the purpose of summoning Minions. Below the platform, steps began, covered with a light red rug. The steps, themselves, were made of a lighter-looking silver, which ceased to continue at the throne - near the backdrop of the platform. The throne itself was made of a bright, faintly luminescent silver. The silver 'branched' or extended outwards, in a circular fashion, presumably there, for when the overlord desired to rest his arms. The throne had a crimson, cushy material covering the back and the bottom of the throne, to stimulate comfort. Silver seemed to puncture the red material at the back of the throne, which was also where intricate designs meant to enhance the visual aesthetics were. The peak of the throne - a silver triangle, with the base being part of the red material - was surrounded by pointed, triangle-like silver extensions, two of which had holes in the center.
Flanking the steps, leading to the throne, were additional staircases, which would put one between two corridors, and a contraption that spewed lava in droves, keeping the streams full aplenty. The awe-inspiring 'contraption' worked, in part, due to gravity. Above the throne, were layers of dark metal, made to allow lava to flow, in a stunning visual display. The design retained its practicality, and usefulness, by way of the layers seemingly condensing, in order to focus the lava to travel from behind the throne, to elsewhere within the throne room.
As Natsu looked above him, he saw the portal gate, which hung from the ceiling as a chandelier would. Beneath his feet, was the trap door, which would drop any who opposed him to their fiery death.
Now as Natsu followed Gnarl still holding the still crying Happy to the throne, He realized that the place had seen better days. Not only did the place look wrecked, but it looked neglected too.
"What happened to this place?" asked Natsu.
"Sadly heroes and time happened," Gnarl said darkly, "when heroes attacked this place and stole and damaged the place. And over time, without an Overlord, the Minions got less motivated to do much unless it involved staying alive and finding the next overlord, and so the place went to the dumps sadly. I'm sorry Sire."
"No worries Gnarl, I'm here now and we can start to rebuild the place." Natsu said as he frowned down at Happy who was quietly crying into his chest, "I just need to figure out a way to help my little buddy first," Natsu said with a worried tone.
as Gnarl scowled at Happy and said to Natsu, " Master if you would like I could take care of that cat for you," Gnarl said while not hiding his annoyance at the pesky Kitty.
Natsu immediately seemed to somewhat Trust Gnarl as he gently patted Happy's head and pulled him off his chest and was moving towards Gnarl, who thought for a few seconds of taking the cat away and either snapping Happy's neck or sending him down into the minion burrows playroom, either thought put Gnarl in a dark mood making him eager to put an end to this fluffy creature, but before he could get his hands on Happy, Natsu made sure he was one step away from Gnarl and gave him the darkest and most fearsome look he could give and said, "I am your overlord now as I'm getting what this whole job entails correctly that means I'm the one in charge but this is my son, he might not be of My Blood but he is my adopted son and I will not allow anything to happen to him so I want you to swear that you and the minions would put your life on the line and die for happy to keep him safe or I swear there will not be one dark corner in this or any world that I will not hunt you down and show you the Rage of a fire dragon slayer!" Natsu said in a very intimidating tone.
Natsu expected to see Gnarl shivering in fear but what he saw was the opposite as Gnarl grimaced for a second before nodding and saluting, saying. "Whatever the master says the minions will do, even if we don't like it, " Gnarl said as he walked the remaining step forward and lifted his hand up picking up happy gently and cradling him in his arms, "what I originally had planned would have only taken a few minutes Master but if you truly care for this creature then he will be delivered to you tomorrow at the latest not perfect but better, Ricket take the overlord to the forging room and get him measured then get him a proper meal from our new kitchen and show him his private room so he can rest for the night we will do the introductions and tour tomorrow, I need to take care of this one... The son of the overlord happy," Gnarl said in a commanding tone.
As a green looking minion girl ran up to Natsu and started pulling him down a different path, don't worry master this isn't the first time Gnarl had to break in a new Overlord, but it is the first time that the new Overlord already had a child, she said as she led him down a different path as Natsu tried to keep his eyes on Happy for as long as he could before they disappeared down the path that Gnarl took happy.
Netherworld: unknown location
As Gnarl walk down the path still holding happy gently like a child he looked over the kitty and frowned for more than one reason, with that horrid name and what I have seen this child was brought up in the disgusting light, if it wasn't for the fact that our Overlord ordered me to take care of him, he would be suffering a horror unlike any other he has yet but now I have to break him in and corrupt the light in him like I have done with countless other children overlords... Technically I don't have to be thorough with this one, I just have to play that I'm helping him for the time being unless he shows real potential for evil he might make a more useful offering at a later time when the master gets bored of this disgusting creature.
As Gnarl grabbed a few things off the shelf with one hand and started pouring them in a jar together while happy was still hugging his chest crying, once the ingredients were fully mixed Gnarl got the second thing he needed what was a minion in a Jester's hat, as soon as he brought them to a wide open space he grabbed the formula he made and immediately grabbed Happy by the back of his neck and pulled him off him making him have to stare at Happy's sad face before Happy's eyes grew wide as something was forced into his mouth making him choke and gag before he was able to knock it away but he accidentally swallowed some of it.
As Happy moved away from Gnarl asking him what did he just force him to drink, right before Happy's eyes started to water for a whole different reason and he started to cough and scream as he jumped from foot to foot waving air into his mouth saying, "hot hot hot hot!"
It's an evil family recipe to force young overlords out of their funk, nothing much just a couple of ghost peppers mixed in with some hellhound blood and a pinch of brimstone, guaranteed to make sure your mouth burn for the next week," he said with an evil smile as the minion jester started to laugh and point at happy.
"Looky there, the little blue kitty who was blue and sad just got the minion burn and now it's red hopping hot." the minion Jester said.
As Happy wasn't happy that he was forced to drink something that tasted horrible and was burning his mouth and saw red as he was being laughed at by this Joker, "shut up! You jerk." happy said angrily.
As the Jester just kept on laughing and said, "my name is Quaver, don't you forget it because if you do you'll regret it when I paint you black and blue," Quaver said, still laughing and joking.
As Happy just got angrier and said, "I don't want to hear this now I just lost my mother, I accidentally killed someone who was trying to kill my dad and everyone in Fairy Tail are jerks!," happy sad letting his emotions run wild.
As Gnarl smirked evilly as he walked over to the side of the room and grabbed a handful of beatles out of a bag and started munching on them watching the show.
As Quaver just laughed even more as he heard Happy yell at him, "oh so little kitty blue so sad because he lost his little mommy, it's so cute and it's so pathetic, crying for Mommy when Mommy is Six Feet Under." Quaver said, still laughing and joking around as Happy unfolded his wings and shot off like a bullet crashing right into Quaver sending him flying and hitting the back of the wall.
"Don't you dare say that about my mother, Sh.. she was the only one nice to me and my dad," Happy screamed out while being angry and upset at this minion who was insulting his mother.
as Quaver got back up on his feet like nothing happened, still hopping around and laughing.
Happy and Quaver kept this up for the next three hours of combat until happy could no longer form his wings and he was breathing heavily sitting on his butt glaring angrily at the still laughing jester, at this point Gnarl walked over and grabbed a big bat and smacked Quaver away, "get out of here you served your purpose now, and for you I've had to deal with many overlords in my time some were born into this lifestyle some were Heroes who fell into it and some were born from the darkness and earned the right to become Overlord but you are one of the most pathetic excuses that I have ever seen, if it wasn't for the fact that the tower has recognized Natsu as the overlord you would not be here, your combat skills were pathetic the anger was good but unfocused, but overall you're whining over two minor matters, so your mother had passed away there is not much you can do about that you and the master were not strong enough to go on that mission and she ended up dead because of a foolish child, what is crying going to do? Nothing but make you weak and pathetic become stronger and take this as a lesson that your weakness is a hindrance and for the other reason you killed a man today so what would you rather of had him kill your father instead?" Gnarl said in a Stern tone.
Happy looked exhausted and shook his head saying in a tired voice, "N.. NO I didn't want to kill him, I just wanted to protect my dad." happy said.
"and look at that you did protect him you saved him from an attack that would either have killed him or crippled him, it wasn't you sitting on your butt crying that saved him it was you deciding that you weren't going to let something happen and using your strength to take action," as Gnarl got close to happy looking him in the face and said, "as minions we serve the overlord, whatever the overlord says is what we do, if he wants revenge against someone or someone is his enemy then we will fight and die for him that is our way but we serve the overlord only, if he ever gets tired of you and wants to throw you away we wouldn't hesitate to remove you from his presence." Gnarl said in a gruff tone.
as Happy's eyes grew wide and he stammered out, "Natsu is my father he would never abandon me like that!" happy Cried Out indignantly.
as Gnarl said three words that chilled Happy to the bone, "we will see." before Happy's Vision started to blur and he passed out from exhaustion.
Elsewhere in the tower.
Natsu thought that living with the most horrible monster in the world was a tough experience, thought getting trained by his dad was a grueling chore but right now he felt like he was facing his most fearsome challenge yet, "no I do not want to wear that kind of armor! I don't care if the other Overlords walked around in full plate armor and looked intimidating. That stuff would hinder my movement and I wouldn't be able to fight properly in that." Natsu said as he was in a very awkward position stripped down to his skivvies and being touched and measured every inch of his body to make a custom set armor for him which he constantly kept on refusing.
"But master, it's kind of the whole thing about the overlord wearing very heavy and intimidating armor; it's like a staple of who the overlord is." Ricket said in a proud tone as she kept on showing him this dark black and red armor with multiple Spikes all over it, but if black isn't your color we got it in crimson and pink!" she said in a proud tone but gave him a look after he raised an eyebrow at that, "Master I wouldn't say anything the pink pretty Overlord of damnation would not like, she was a magnificent Overlord," Ricket said with an admiring tone, "she conquered and slaughtered everyone who called her a girly girl just because she wanted to wear pink the body count was so immense she even had this unicorn with a pink bow on it but it wouldn't stay pink for long it always ended up turning red for some reason especially after he rammed his horn right through the chest of everyone who called him girly, what was a strange thing since it was actually a stallion."
"I don't care, I'm not wearing armor, especially since it wouldn't help me at all," he said as he reached out and put his hand on the armor which immediately started to turn red as it heated up and started to melt, "my dragon slayer Magic can melt through armor I'm not so sure on what the whole plan on Fireproofing equipment which is understandable given the circumstance so unless you had something that's Fireproof it wouldn't be effective on me." Natsu said.
"well Master until we have the Reds we can't really do anything about fire proofing your clothes, so you're going to have to stay in those ones for now but I'm sure over the time we can come up with a design that you would like and wouldn't Hinder your movements and your attack," Ricket said, " but we've been here for 2 and 1/2 hours and you still need to get something proper to eat, now that we have your measurements we can easily make some designs for you and you can tell us what you like, she said as she handed him all of his clothes then started to lead him to the kitchen that was still being set up with new appliances and a few of the minions looked like they got burnt and some other appliances look like they were already damaged as they try to figure out how to use them properly, but regardless Natsu was able to get a nice and big meal but when he looked around he still didn't see happy anywhere and he started to get worried and asked.
"Where is Happy? Shouldn't he be here too?" Natsu asked, getting worried about his little friend.
"you don't need to worry master, Gnarl is great at taking care of kids he would never let anything come to them if they have potential for being the next Overlord or in his case the overlord ordered it, I would actually feel sorry for any Minion or enemy who would be foolish enough to try and take the child from him during one of his lessons," Ricket said shivering in fear at the very thought, " I mean he is the one who raised and trains all the other minions and trained and raised most of the Overlords he definitely was the one who guided them and helped them during their Journeys," she said in a reassuring tone.
And with that said Natsu reluctantly started to eat his meal what he basically pigged out on thanks to the fact that he burned up so much of his energy fighting Everlue so it took him quite some time to finish up his meal and by the time he was done Gnarl came into the room alone without happy.
"GNARL WHERE IS HAPPY!" Natsu said in a threatening tone what made every minion shiver at the fearsomeness that their new Overlord seemed to emit from himself almost like a dragon roaring terrifying all of those around him, except for the minions who just looked at their new Overlord with awe.
"Do not worry, master Young Master, Happy is safe and sound. What I had him do tired him out so I put him to bed if you would like I can take you to him right now and show you your room,"Gnarl Said to the new Overlord.
With that said Natsu didn't waste a second and followed Gnarl to the private quarters not even bothering to look at any of the rooms yet as he quickly found happy smelling his scent and after doing a quick check to see if he was okay but just in a deep sleep he was happy and curled up with his son and the two of them fell asleep on a comfy bed.
While that was going on Gnarl had watched the display and thought to himself, this new Overlord had potential but I'm not so sure about the cat I'll have to watch and see if he is going to be a problem or not only time will tell, And with that said he left the room to continue his business elsewhere.
The next morning, Netherworld: private rooms.
W.. Wak... Wake up masters...
Both Natsu & happy we're having a nice dream until they started to hear someone trying to wake them up, both of them started to stir wondering where they were because they did not remember having bed sheets this soft or a bed this comfortable and as soon as they opened when eye each both Natsu & happy screamed!
"OH MY GOD THERE IS A MONSTER IN OUR HOME!" you would normally assume that they were talking about Gnarl but what they were staring at were four of the most ugliest Maids ever trying to wake them up and making the two of them jump out of bed horrified and ready to fight before they started to look around noticing that they were not in their room before all the memories started to come back to them, as Natsu calmed down trying to not focus too much on his precious Lisanna dying and how Fairy Tail betrayed him. Happy was a different story as the adrenaline started to wear off. He licked his lips as he noticed something weird on his tongue and as he started to focus on it he let out another painful scream, "OH MY GOD HOT HOT!" what immediately got Natsu to grab him and try to see what was wrong.
That was until they heard a new voice coming from behind the maids, "Master you don't need to worry about Happy that's just a side effect of the minion burn I gave him last night, also I know the maids are not the most prettiest of females but they do have proper training but if you aren't satisfied with them I'm sure we can get them to clean the minion boroughs instead of your room." Gnarl said in an evil tone what made the four girls look shocked and horrified.
"Sure whatever I don't care, I just don't want them waking me up anymore," Natsu said in a distracted tone as he looked at his Son, " happy are you sure you're going to be okay?" Natsu asked in a concerned tone.
"Aye sir!" happy said still blowing on his tongue trying to cool it off and failing, before letting out a loud yawn, "I'm just very tired Gnarl made me blow off a lot of my energy and I guess I'm kind of in a stoop right now," he said in a tired tone after the adrenaline ran its course and he lowered himself down onto the floor looking tired.
"That's okay little buddy we'll go and get something to eat then we'll explore this place and figure out what's going to happen next," Natsu said in a reassuring tone.
At the same time all of the maids looked horrified and cried out, " NO PLEASE!" but before they could say anything more Gnarl had a few of the minion gag them and dragged three of them downstairs while the fourth one was held still and Gnarl ordered her somewhere else, "not that one that one actually knows how to cook send her to the kitchens," he said what made the skinny one smile happily knowing that she would not suffer the same fate as the others, after the four of them were gone Gnarl walked forward and said, "don't worry master we have all of that planned out for you right now, first we're going to give you a large meal for breakfast to judge how much you actually eat you ate quite a bit yesterday but we do not know if that was because you missed lunch or anything to know how much you normally eat will help us judge how much we need to teach you and how much we need to train you to burn off the calories, an Overlord cannot be fat and lazy, after that we'll send you to the main hall for you can learn about the more important things about being an Overlord finish it up with a tour then we'll start our studies the sooner we find out what you know the better we can train you and teach you." Gnarl said with an evil smile thinking of all the things they can do to train this new potential Overlord.
as Natsu held out a hand to stop Gnarl, "I still want to know why I was chosen to be Overlord in the first place I mean before yesterday I was a good guy protecting as many people as I could, sure I broke a lot of buildings but I really don't see that as a crime when they were all accidents." Natsu stated with a confused look.
"Ah yes I did promise that we'll make it part of the tour then I'll show you that room last that way we can figure it out and move on to your studies, and no master accidentally breaking something is not an evil Act evil must be conscious it cannot be forced or accidental because if it is it's not true evil and that is not the purpose of the overlord." Gnarl stated as he ushered the two of them down into the dining room and said, "this is the dining room thanks to the upgrades we got from that fat halfling we are able to make much more fancier meals then before at a much quicker pace, once we know what you like and how much you can eat we'll have your breakfast lunch and dinners made for you here and make sure that they're filled with enough nutrients and protein to help you grow into a powerful Overlord."
as Gnarl led the two of them into a massive kitchen where some of the appliances that they got from the halfling were either trying to be adapted to the new area or the minions were cooking with old modern stoves using the lava to heat up the food and cook it over a open flame to make it nice and juicy, making this place smell Heavenly to both happy and Natsu when they went to the dining room to both of their surprises it wasn't as big and fancy as they would have assumed, it was actually a small rounded table with two chairs.
"Gnarl, I would have thought that the overlord would have a large fancy dining room table?" Natsu asked in curiosity.
"Yes that is somewhat true and so much false, you see master us minions do not need to eat and most of us don't have what you humans would call table manners for the most part most minion would rip the table legs off the table and use it to bash each other's brains in that's a more effective way how to use a table, but for the overlord and his guest or mistresses they eat at the table what usually there isn't that many that come down here of their free will," Gnarl said to Natsu who sat down with happy and the two of them started to stuff their faces where Natsu thought the food was amazing and even tasted better than yesterday but for happy he let out a cry of anguish as soon as he bit into a fish and could only taste the minion burn making him not able to taste his favorite food.
After about an hour of Natsu & happy putting down quite a bit of food where Natsu looked satisfied while happy looked disappointed the two of them were led to the main hall where they saw the throne room.
"Okay master you can sit down here with your son on the arm rest and we'll call in the Minion staff introduce you to them and then we can get down to evil business." Gnarl shouted out some orders in the Minion language, in which all the Minions started to scramble around what Natsu & Happy noticed that the room looked as if it was much cleaner than before and made a guess that they were trying to clean up the area while they slept. Then Gnarl walked to stand next to the right side of the throne, the old Minions place as the Overlord's adviser and was getting the Minions ready.
With Happy sitting on the arm rest, Natsu watched as most of the Minions rushed about, cleaning and fixing the tower up. Out of all of the Minions, Six of them came up to the throne, "The first one you have already met sire," Gnarl said pointing at the first Minion in a hard hat and holding a pickaxe, "Grubby, the Minion digger, he will be able to expand the tunnel network and reopen old ones that were blocked by the heroes so many years ago and make new ones as long as we have enough power and know where you want it to be, so we can send more portal gates out"
Grubby bowed, his hard hat almost falling off, and said "Master, I am happy to dig for you."
Then two more Minions stepped up, one was a male and the other was a female, they were both more muscular than any of the normal Minions, the male had a metal helmet that covered his face and thick gloves, and the female was green, with patches of brown and she had red hair unlike the other Minions.
"This is Giblet and Ricket, they are the Forgemasters, Giblet is somewhat of a robust fellow, having been around almost as long as I have. But like most of the Minions here, he isn't a great conversationalist." Gnarl explained to Natsu, "Ricket, you've met her before yesterday when she was getting you fitted, whilst it doesn't look like it, she is a Brown Minion, but due to some accidents in forging, most of her skin became green. She's one of the few like me that can give you a good conversation. She is fairly cheerful and friendly. Both of them will help you create new weapons and armor."
"Greetings Overlord," Ricket greeted the new Overlord, "Giblet and I are glad to have a new Overlord to serve. But right now, we are unable to, we don't have a Smelter to craft you magnificent armor at the moment. But once the forge is up and running we will make great weapons and armor, spiky armor."
Gnarl nodded at Giblet and Ricket then turned to the Overlord "Ricket and Giblet along with the help of Grubby, are in charge of renovating the tower and the rest of Netherworld, and will put the Minions to work on it right away." The three Minions in question bowed then went off to get to work, this left another three Minions to be introduced.
"and finally the last three," Gnarl said as a blue green and red minion were left standing in front of both happy and Natsu, as the green minion came up to them Natsu looked at him, and started to look sick as he covered his nose," you have met Shadow before and his ride night, night right now is in the minion pins we're all the other minion mounts are, but shadow isn't much for talking but is very good at staying hidden and tracking his prey and capturing and Gathering up loot."
As Happy looked at Natsu and asked quietly while Gnarl I was talking about Shadow and night, "Natsu are you okay?" Happy asked in a tired but caring tone.
"yeah I'm fine happy it's just that green minion stinks to high hell..." but before happy could reply to what Natsu said, Gnarl spoke up and interrupted the two, "yes that would be the green effect, all of the green have a foul odor amongst themselves but are some of our best stealth Strikers you just have to get used to their repulsive stank, but don't worry master most of the overlords get over it within the first month."
as both happy and Natsu said at the same time, "great." as both of them didn't look thrilled at the prospect.
"Well to continue on he's not much of a conversationalist he's more of someone to listen to your problems and give you some way to vent, he'll never tell your secrets so you can trust in him, the next minion is one that I believe will be very interesting to you master."
as Natsu looked at the red minion that was coming towards him and bowing, Natsu could immediately feel the heat coming from him and before Natsu could say anything both happy and Natsu watched as he lit his hand on fire and tossed a fireball right at Natsu, Natsu was caught off guard for a second as he was hit by the fire and set aflame before inhaling the fire making Natsu look at the red minion with narrowed eyes before the flavor and texture of the fire caught up with him then he raised an eyebrow and said, " that fire tasted really potent I think that was some of the strongest fire I have ever tasted other than my old man's it kind of had a sweet but bitter aftertaste," Natsu said as he saw that happy was floating above him away from the chair and the fire before sitting back down.
"Oh yes it looks like our little experiment was a success, once you told me that you could use Dragon Slayer art Fire magic I figured you could eat fire and wanted to see if you could eat Minion fire and if it would flavor your meals, " Gnarl said, as Natsu remember the back to the meal that he had just a few minutes ago and realize that it almost taste it similar to it.
"hum well the fire didn't hurt me and it does taste good but don't ever do that again without warning me first especially with happy next to me he is not fireproof like I am and if he ever got hurt by this I don't care how tasty your food is or how powerful Your Flames are I'll BBQ you!" Natsu said in a threatening tone what made the red minion take a step back while Gnarl just smiled.
"let me introduce you this is Jeff the chef he is a red minion meaning he is a fire user, they like to set everything on fire and watch it burn, it just happens to be that this one is good at cooking too so he will be making most of your meals with some assistance with the maid that woke you up before, he's not much on conversations... Unless you can get past his personality quirk." Gnarl said.
"It's nice to burn you master," Jeff said in an eager tone.
"don't you mean meat?" Happy said, trying to correct the minion.
"No, Jeff Burns things, Jeff set things on fire, Jeff likes to watch the world burn, so Jeff does not like to meet people, Jeff likes to burn people," Jeff said in a third-person accent as he smiled wickedly at the two.
as Natsu said with a smile of his own, "I think I'm going to like this one Gnarl."
as Gnarl just grimaced and shook his head and said, sometimes evil has bad taste in jokes and humor, my poor black heart, well at least he's better than the last cook that one consciously kept on blowing up the kitchen, it was something like bard what was very weird given that he didn't play any musical instruments except for the exploding kitchen instrument, of course after the fourth kitchen explosion happened the overlord grabbed him and stuffed so much explosive materials down his throat and charged him with so much magic that when he threw him at the enemy structure he made a good BOOOM! That will show those Sheeps that, that Barn didn't stand a chance against the overlord."
As Natsu and Happy looked at the last Minion, unlike the rest of the Minions they had seen so far, he didn't have big ears like the Browns, but had a tail which the Browns don't. His skin was a pale bluish gray, he had gills on his neck and webbed feet, hands and frills where his ears should be. He was wearing a black hooded robe and carrying a scythe twice the size of him, he looked like a Minion grim reaper, the Minion bowed and in a gurgling voice said "Master."
Natsu looked at Gnarl as the old Minion started to speak "This is Mortis, he is in charge of the Minion Burrows, that is to say he facilitates your decisions about them. The Minion Burrows are the home of the Minions and where we keep the hives, their playroom and lastly the place where they keep their mount's, Mortis makes sure the Minions come into the world and leave the world properly. He can also bring Minions back from the dead so we don't have to worry about losing your strongest of Minions."
"Wait, Mortis can bring minions back from the dead? Can he do that to others!" asked Natsu.
Just then, running up from some stairs at the side of the room, came a Brown Minion, he was holding a cane with a skull and bells on it, and he wore a jester's hat and had white markings on him. "Sire, Sire sorry I'm late…" began the Minion. If Natsu listened he would hear that like Gnarl, he was the one of the few Minions who spoke clearly. But the problem was that Natsu heard something interesting, a Minion that could bring the dead back, and his first thought was Lisanna. So with this Minion barging into the room, and interrupting things, he threw his strongest fireball at him which threw the jester against the wall.
"Be quiet!" Natsu hissed at the Minion, fire alight in his eyes, putting some fear into the Minion.
"I'm impressed, sire," Gnarl said with an evil smile, "sometimes there's no stopping Quaver, believe me I've tried. For you to do so, so soon, it says a lot about you."
"Tell me Gnarl, can Mortis only bring Minions back from the dead, or can he bring humans back too?" Natsu asked in a firm tone to the old Minion, ignoring what Gnarl said about Quaver. Not knowing if Mortis could actually talk and wanting to know the full capabilities, not someone boasting.
When Happy heard what his father asked, he paid attention, as he knew what his father was going to ask, and he thought, 'Is it possible, can Mortis bring mom back from the dead?'
Mortis spoke up at that "Yes Master I can, but do know, there is always a price, life for death and death for life. You will have to use the life force of the lesser Minions to bring them back other stronger Minions, but for others I would need to examine them first, master Some Humans can be brought back quite easily while others are more difficult but I need the help of the overlord to do so properly, by myself it takes a lot of power and life force to do so and must be done quickly or the soul starts to deteriorate and becomes unusable, safely this can be done once without too many side effects other than the person becoming evil and having a compulsion to want to serve the overlord or become the next Overlord.
"Natsu nodded thoughtfully at this, taking all the information in, whilst he didn't like the idea that much, he could understand the reason for it, he would have to think about this at a later date about the minions, but he needed to focus now on this very important information about his beloved Lisanna, and if it would be right to bring her back or not.
Gnarl admittedly was starting to like this young man; he had great potential at evil, but he was worried about this, this could be a turning point for the young man, this could be the point that he would turn away from being the Overlord.
As Mortis continued to speak, saying, "Master, we Minions, we live, we serve and we die for the Overlord. It is what we are and what we will always be.
Natsu and Happy looked at each other at this news, and both were thinking the same thing, they could bring back Lisanna but she wouldn't be the same. She wouldn't be the same sweet girl that they knew and cared for, but she would be evil, and they wouldn't be sure what she would be like. But both of them could see the look in each other's eyes, one of hope and wanting nothing more for Lisanna to come back no matter the cost, they knew at that moment both of them felt the same, to have Lisanna come back to them.
Gnarl continued talking "That's right Mortis but don't worry sire Minions will happily die for their Overlord, several times if necessary, hehe. But you need to resurrect a fallen Minion, you'll need to sacrifice Minions of the same colour. Why go about training newborns when you can easily resurrect a well trained one." Gnarl said then waited as he saw the look between the two something that they said resonated with each other most likely over the mother that the cat had just recently lost what happened to be at the overlord's mistress.
So with a look of determination in their eyes, both Natsu and Happy node as Natsu said, "I understand and I want to try it."
"Try what? Master." Gnarl asked but actually having a good idea of what was coming next and smiling internally, 'either he's going to accept to bring his mistress back, accept to get revenge on Fairy Tail for what happened to her or give up the overlord title not wanting to give into the darkness for her, but by the look in their eyes I highly doubt that.
"Mortis & Gnarl I want to resurrect a human Lisanna can you do it?" asked Natsu, with Happy in hope this was true.
"It is difficult but it is possible," Mortis admitted, his voice was rough as he spoke, "but unlike minions, I would need the body of the human that you want brought back to life. And not only that, but I would need a few lifeforce of at least five humans with magic at minimum, to do so. Then there would be a ritual to bring them back, the last time it was done was about four hundred years ago when we brought back the Netherghuls. But I must warn you though, unless the person was evil to start with, when they are brought back they are different, darker Master, and they would be loyal to you."
"I understand that, but as long as we can bring Lisanna back, I don't care how she turns out." Natsu told the Grim Reaper Minion, with Happy saying 'Aye' in agreement.
"Good Master," Mortis told his new Master, "tell me where the body is, and I'll send some Browns to retrieve the body."
And with that Natsu informed the Blue Minion where to find Lisanna, but then gave a warning, "So you know, should the Browns harm the body in any way, I'll be using them as training dummies and I won't be easy on them."
"I understand Master, I'll make sure that they don't hurt her." Mortis informed the new Overlord, "it will take me and the Minions less then a week to find her," Mortis said as he left to get a few minions to get the body that his Master wanted.
With Mortis gone, Gnarl said, "Whilst we wait for Mortis to return, let's start the basic tour of this place?"
"I would like that Gnarl," Natsu said with a smile, "I would like to know the basic area I'm now living in."
"Aye, I would like to know too." Happy told Gnarl in an excited and happy Tone hoping that his mother could be brought back, as he flew onto Natsu's shoulder.
It was a few hours after Mortis left to get Lisanna's body, over that time Natsu visited three places, Minion Burrows, Private Quarters and the Foundations which was where the Forge was. To get to these places, they had to use floating platforms, which to Natsu's shock he didn't get sick on, Gnarl told him that was because of the magic on the platforms. On the platform, Natsu and Happy saw the Netherworld Tower for the first time, and it looked like some kind of upside down castle.
The first stop was the Minion Burrows, where the Minion Barracks were, which was in one of the huge floating rocks that were going around the tower. The rock had four caverns within it, one for each race of minion. One cavern was like a forest, where Gnarl told Natsu and Happy that this was where the Greens meant to be. Then there was a cavern which was full of mainly water with little land there, it also had a waterfall too, this was the place where the Blue Minions were meant to be at. Another place, which was Natsu's favorite place, was full of fire and lava, where the Reds were meant to live if they were there. The last cavern was of the Browns, where their cavern was full of ruined buildings, where they were fighting with each other.
Gnarl told Natsu and Happy that the Brown Minions were the toughest of all the Minions. That they never shy away from a fight, and once they start to fight, it was quite difficult to get them to stop unless you were the Overlord. Such is their dedication to the fight that Browns can also use many different objects as weapons. In the middle of this cavern, there was what looked like a huge brown hive of some kind, where Gnarl explained that the Browns come from and like the other Minions once they got the other hives.
During the tour, Happy asked where the other hives were, in which the old Minion explained that he didn't know. The Minion Master told them that as much as he hated to admit it, it wasn't the first time that they lost the other Minions, as they often disappear without an Overlord there to command them.
After visiting the Minion Burrows, they went to visit the Foundations, which was the place where the Forges were. At the moment Natsu and Happy saw Giblet and Ricket with a few Minions fixing the place up, Gnarl explained that in the last attacks the place got damaged too.
After the Foundations, they went to the Private Quarters, where two Minions were cleaning the area. Gnarl informed Natsu and Happy that this would be the place that they would be sleeping in when it was fixed, and later on should Natsu find anyone to be among his mistresses. Natsu's face went red at the thought of this.
Once the tour was over, Natsu, Happy and Gnarl were returning from the Private Quarters, Natsu walked over and sat down in his throne with happy sitting on the arm rest right next to his father, "okay now that we know the area a little bit better and obviously need to get it repaired a lot what's the next thing we need to do?"
"well now that you have looked around and sent Mortis off, I would suggest that we get down to your training and education, I do not wish to offend but you asked us if we could help you with that the first thing we need to know is your level in both along with your overall health if you would like we can do this to your son too... But I do need to mention that we do not have much power right at the moment." Gnarl said to the overlord.
"What?" Natsu said.
"But I thought that when we got the Nether Heart we would have this place all powered up?" Happy said in a much more cheerful tone but still panting a bit from the minion burn.
"Well that might be true yes but it seems that the Nether Heart has lost quite a bit of its power over the four centuries that it was lost to us so it needs time to recharge and regain its former power, quite a lot of time actually as it stands we're still kind of on backup power we're able to do a little bit more now that we have it but not much, I believe if we do a scan on You two we should still have a little bit of power leftover and if my idea is correct we might be able to give it some more power while training you at the same time. And to be honest, I would like to know myself. Please follow me." Gnarl asked.
And with that Natsu and Happy followed Gnarl to the balcony and onto one of the platforms where it took them all the way to the top of the Tower, above the Foundations. The room that they got was a room full of pipes, which was connected to the Nether Heart. The only thing other than the pipes and the Nether Heart, was a huge test tube, with a seat in it. Upon entering the room, Gnarl told Natsu to sit in the tube and the Nether Heart would do a scan to let them see what is what.
Natsu was in the tube for about ten minutes, he came out of it, to see a shocked Gnarl and a worried Happy looking at him. It was mixed with awe and fear. And so it was no surprise that he asked, "What's wrong Gnarl?"
"Why didn't you tell me sire that you were E.N.D, the younger brother of Zeref." Gnarl asked Natsu with a new respect for the young Overlord.
But Natsu had no idea as to what the old Minion Master was talking about, he was what and how could he be the younger brother of the most evil Dark Mage that anyone ever knew about? So it was once again no surprise that Natsu could only ask one thing, "I'm what now?"

There's going to be a time skip in the next chapter, of about three years, and so I would like a few ideas as to how I should write how Fairy Tail has been over the last few months. I hope you can all help me.

Overlord Items:
Spell Stones: Got a few spell from Overlord that I'll use, but Keep in mind that some of the spells are similar to each other so I will be removing or keeping only the stronger one and just because he has it doesn't mean he's going to use it, but I could use some other ideas on spells here.
Mana Pillars: Instead of giving the user magic it's going to give him a slow regeneration of Mana allowing him to regenerate his magic at a much faster Pace than normal, allowing him to use much more spells.
Health Pillars: Is going to be used as a regeneration ability slowly healing our Overlord overtime instead of increasing his health.
Minion Totems: Not going to appear in the story, Because I don't like the idea that a overlord what do you limited on how many followers he could command at what time, but at the same time I'm not going to have him controlling hundreds of hundreds of minions he's going to have to build up to those numbers over time as he gets stronger better at controlling his power and the minions.
Tower Heart: To follow the Fellowship of Evil, the Heart will now be called Nether Heart.
Tower Smelters: Unlike the games, the first Smelter will still be at the tower.
Minion Hives:
Brown Hive: Like in the game it'll be in the tower.
Red Hive: Like the game not in the tower.
Green Hive: Like the game not in the tower.
Blue Hive: Like the game not in the tower.
so like I said in the last chapter we're going to have a Time skip and I was hoping that some people might have some ideas for what could happen in the future content and might have some interesting suggestions, to let you all know where we going next we're going to follow up a story from this point on of fairy tale starting off with.

Galuna Island Arc.
Phantom Lord arc.
Tower of Heaven arc.
Oración Seis arc.
And hopefully by this point I have a few more ideas and readers to help me find out what to do for the next 7-year jump after a few more arcs, now you might notice there's a few arcs missing and there is I'm going to be a few more added onto this, this is just what our characters are going to at least run into so far in our schedule planning, how they get there and what they do differently we'll have to see, I'm still open to listen to other people suggestions, but if you're going to suggest other girls or boys to join Natsu or Happy's Harem please answer explain why they should let said person into their harem as well as explain why they should show up sooner or later in the timeline.
