(Charlie's POV):

"Matilda, no!" I yell.

We burst into the room and skid to a halt to see Matilda high up on a sort of pedestal.

"You're too late," Wonka cackles.
"The elixirs are coursing through her veins as we speak. And already, the world is becoming as we wish it to be!"

We hear a beep and all of a sudden, a TV screen turns on to reveal a colorful candy world.

"How is that going to help you take over the world?" Billie calls out.

"Why, my deary, dreary, ditzy darling," he purrs.
"Just watch."

We look at the screen to see someone approach what looks to be a peppermint-colored Venus flytrap. The plant opens and sprays me red mist into their face. All of a sudden their eyes glaze over and turn into rainbow swirls.

"All hail Wonka," they drone.

"All hail the Sweet One," drones another.

All over the great city are these peppermint-colored plants and everyone is getting near them and building statues and buildings out of candy. Wonka's turning them into zombie workers. Grandpa Joe's stories aren't fiction after all.

"You monster!" I yell.

"Oh, Charlie, my boy. I haven't even revealed the best part. You'll get to help us."

I'm taken aback by this.

"What makes you think I'm going to help you?"

"Because I have compensation for you, one. And two, if you don't—"

He presses another button, opening a wall to reveal-

"Mother?" Augustus and Violet exclaim in shock.

"Dad?" Mike gasps.

"Grandpa Joe?" I gasp.

They're trapped inside of a vat of some sort of liquid.

"If you don't agree to help, all of these adults will be obliterated."

"What's the consensus?"

"You get to marry the Sweet One."

I'm taken far from aback.

"M-marriage?"

"Yes, Charlie. Come here, my boy."

I run up to him and look at Matilda. Her eyes are also rainbow swirls, but not as glazed over. I look over her to see that she has two IVs in her arm.

"I even have a ring for you to give her," Wonka exclaims excitedly.

He begins to check his pockets.

"Blast it all! Where did I put the ring? Perhaps I left it in the other room. Wait here one second. Dizzy Flower and Sunshine, come with me."

Leaving he shuts the door behind him. Now's my chance. Carefully I pull out the left needle. Quietly I tiptoe over to the other IV and pull that out. Then I go to the tiara and yank it out of her. I notice there are needle points on it. I check her scalp, and sure enough, it's bleeding slightly. But no matter to me.

(Matilda's POV)

I begin to feel myself come back to reality.

"Wha—what the? What in the name of sanity happened?"

"Matilda?" I hear a voice beside me ask.

"You okay?"

"I'm not sure. W-why do I feel so dazed? Who are you?"

My vision clears up once again. I look to my side to see Charlie attempting to untie my bonds. Once he succeeds on the wrist, ankle, and torso straps, I take a few moments before standing back up. When I do, I nearly stumble down the stairs, but Charlie manages to catch me.

"Steady now," he tells me.

"Where's Wonka?" I ask.

"He went to get a ring of some sort. I'll tell you why later."

We reach the bottom of the steps and I gasp. Not only have the others escaped Wonka and the squirrels were returned back to normal, but there's an extra person there. One that I recognize almost immediately.

"D-dad?" I gasp.
"I-is it really you?"

He smiles lovingly at me and nods.

Tears begin to fill my eyes. The others make a pathway as I run up to him and embrace him.

"Oh my goodness! Dad, you're alive! You're alive!" I cry.

"Matilda! My Mati. You've grown into such an intelligent and imaginative young woman."

"Hey!" I hear James exclaim.
"How come you never let me call you that?"

"That's because that's my dad's nickname for me, you dodo!" I explain through tears.

All of a sudden, I feel a tug on my dress. I turn around to see Daisy Bloom with something familiar in her hands.

"I think this belongs to you, Matilda," she tells me.

Taking it from her, I gasp.

"My candy notebook! Where was it? How did you get it?"

"I snuck it from Wonka's room when he was giving the tour."

I smile and shake my head as I embrace her as well.

"Wait a second," James pipes up.
"This feels too much like a happy ending. Something doesn't feel right."

"You would be right, right, right," a completely insane voice growls.

Jumping we all turn to find a smiling, deranged man, armed with a real sword.

"Here's Wonka!"
