Now that I have that figured out, there's still one problem; how am I going to manage to get out while he's still here? That's when I remember the thing I heard fall off of me. I reach around and feel my head. The tiara's not there!

"Father," I gasp sweetly.
"The tiara! It's missing. It must have fallen off my head."

He perks up.

"Really? Indeed it must've!"

"I think it fell off at the elevator."

"Of course, of course, of course. Stay right here, my dear. Once I have the tiara, we'll be ready, ready, ready!"

He steps through the door and his footsteps recede. Once they're out of earshot, with some strain, I shut the door. I hear the click of the lock, and because of how long it took him to unlock the door last time, I know I have at least a good 5 minutes. Now's my chance! But I still need to be quick.

First thing's first, I begin to tear off the frills and poofy things, and soon I'm only left with a rainbow-striped nightgown; it makes me feel like an adventurer. I strip off the gloves, the socks, take the shoes in case, and throw off the hair bows. My hair immediately returns to its natural wavy shape. I still keep a close hold on my notebook and I scurry over to the vents. Straining once again, I lift up the bottom flap and sure enough, it's big enough for me to squeeze through. Shutting it behind me, I find a ladder in front. Placing my notebook in my mouth, I quickly climb up the ladder. Down below I hear beeps and clicks and I know he's returned. I climb as fast as I can. I don't dare look below me. The only way to go from here is up.

I'm a good five hundred feet above when I hear the clambering of footsteps on the ladder below me. There's only one person it could be. My heart beating faster and faster, I scurry further up while trying to be careful. One wrong step and I'd fall to my death. But at this point, I don't entirely care. I was about to become a mere power source for a man who I used to look up to. At such a fast acceleration rate, the chances of him being able to catch me are extremely low. But even then, death isn't an ideal option for me.

I begin to climb even faster and the figure below me speeds up as well; I also begin to hear maniacal laughter below.

"You won't get away from me so easily!" Wonka giggles from the shadows.
"You're in my territory, Matilda!"

I don't dare talk back. Otherwise I'd drop my notebook and there'd be no chance of getting it back for sure. All I can do is climb even higher.

How high does this ladder even go?

My arms begin to ache slightly when I spy a hatch getting closer and closer. Motivated I practically sprint upwards and burst through. Pushing myself up and onto the surface before slamming the door shut, I find myself in a strange room full of various plants. But before I admire them, I need to make sure Wonka doesn't get up here. I look around and soon spy a large crate nearby. Quickly I dash to it and push on it. Thankfully it's rather heavy, and with every bit of strength I have, I push it over to the hatch and make sure it covers the entire thing.

Once that's done, I begin to look at the room I'm in more closely. Originally it seemed like a green house, but as I take a better look, I find that it's actually an arboretum of sorts, a rather large greenhouse, if you would, even a large jungle. Nearby I spy a bucket, a safari hat, a hacking blade, some gloves, some bags and a marker, and some lawn clippers. I take my notebook from my mouth and wipe it on the gown.

"Goodness, this looks dense," I remark as I grab them, placing the gloves and hat on; now I feel even more like an adventurer.
"All the more reason to explore it!"

And in good timing too. I hear a thud coming from the crate-covered hatch and I take off running into tall grasses and through tons of branches.

As I walk for what feels like a good ten minutes, hiding every so often, the sounds of various creatures, snakes, birds, bugs, and the like, all ring in my ear. All around me, I see various kinds of plants, all of them with labels on them; the labels are difficult to see, however, because of the tall grass. I hack away at it to get a better look at the first label.

Speeding Snap Leaves:

Used for increasing one's speed for up to five minutes at a time. The seeds contain pure ghost pepper, which are naturally infused within the leaves. Do not ingest without proper dilution unless absolutely necessary.

Status: Ripe.

"These certainly could come in handy," I say.

I snip away at several, letting them fall in the bucket before quickly placing them into a bag and scribbling down the name. I cut away at the grass to see the next plant.

Map-le Syrup Sap:

Gives the taster a mental map of their current location up to a 10 mile radius.

I notice some sap in a tapping cup and pour it into a bag.

"This is more like it," I smile.

And indeed it is. This was what I had hoped when I said I wished to be Wonka's daughter: experimenting with, growing, mixing, testing various candies and candy ingredients, not being a power source for world domination. I move on to the next one.

Mesmeric Mint Pods:

Used for placing enemies and/or victims under trances for up to ten minutes per mint. Dilution recommended, but not entirely necessary.

I cut off and bag a few of those. All of a sudden, I hear a crash and footsteps just off in the distance and my heart jumps.

No. Not now!

Desperately I search the jungle for somewhere to hide when to my right, I see an open cave. Diving into it, my nose is immediately hit with the smell of chocolate, and my eyes are transfixed by the crystals. Curiously, I pick off a couple and sniff them. Sure enough, they're rock candy crystals. I pick off a few and bag them before running deeper into the cave, lit by various lamps placed on the walls.
