Chapter 49: New Semester

Author's Note: A bit of a shorter chapter this time, but that's because I'm preparing myself for the long chapters to come. Originally, this chapter was supposed to include a lot more, but I decided to separate it into this chapter and the next. I am still quite busy with College and other things so updates won't be too frequent, but I'll still try to update the story regularly. I hope you still enjoy, though!

Also, to that one guy who keeps asking, no I won't make a One Piece x Pokemon crossover because I have not seen One Piece lol.

After their fight, All Might brought both Izuku and Katsuki to Aizawa where he promptly scolded them. He was ready to give them a harsh punishment, but after All Might spoke to him and explained the situation, he settled on giving them a few days of suspension. This meant that they'd be unable to go to school and would have to miss out on school for the next few days, so Izuku took this time to strategize a bit more with his Pokemon.

Meanwhile, the rest of the students were headed back to their first days of class after taking their license exam. They were pretty pleased overall with the results. Yes, two of their classmates failed, but having 18 out of 20 pass isn't bad at all.

As they were headed to the front grounds of the school for an announcement, 1-A ran into none other than… Neito Monoma. They all collectively groaned when they saw him cackling.

"So, two people failed the exam, huh?!" He laughed loudly. Eijiro laughed back and looked at the boy right in the eyes. "Lemme guess, you're the only one who failed the exam. Just like the finals." He said, but it only caused Neito to laugh louder.

"We all passed!" He said, stretching out his arms and proudly showcasing the rest of his class. The members of 1-A were stunned. Every single member of class B had managed to pass the license exam… even Neito.

Most of all, Shoto felt a lot of shame and guilt. The rivalry between the two classes didn't even get by him and the fact that he caused them to fall behind, in this case, was very embarrassing for him. "I-I'm sorry, everyone…" He said, but the class didn't take it too harshly.

"Hey, don't worry man. The guy's just obsessed with competition and stuff." Eijiro reassured him.

One shorter girl with blond hair from class B walked up to the other class and smiled. "According to Mr. Vlad, we'll be having our classes together this semester! I'm looking forward to it!" She said in broken Japanese. Everyone knew that this girl, Pony Tsunotori, was a foreigner from America. She practically couldn't speak Japanese when she initially got here, but she's improved a lot since then. She still couldn't really understand Japanese too well, but she was fortunate that she had classmates who could translate for her.

That being said, what she said piqued their interest. Nobody from either class cared quite as much about the competition between the two classes as Neito, but they did feel a sense of rivalry with each other. The fact that they'd be taking some classes together was an exciting prospect as it would let them learn more about each other while encouraging more friendly competition.

"Hey, we're stuck back here!" One of the students behind them called out. They had been talking for quite a while that they didn't even realize they were blocking the way for the other students. However, they did take note of the student who called them out.

"Shinso…" Fumikage pointed out. "Ah, the one with the Hypno? The one who fought Midoriya?" Kyoka asked. "I wonder what he's up to…"

Once they were at the assembly grounds, Principle Togedemaru climbed up on the stadium and began giving his announcements. "Hello, everyone! Recently, my steel fur, which is my pride and joy mind you, has deteriorated. Taking care of it can be quite the hassle, though the same can be said of humans. Even if you get a good diet and maintain a good sleep schedule…"

This part of the speech went on for… a while. Well, that's not entirely true. It didn't last for anything longer than a few minutes, but it felt like hours. It was an incredibly boring speech about how hard it is to take care of fur… so do with that what you will.

Eventually, Togedemaru reached the point of his speech that actually mattered. "Moving on, the reason my fur has reached such a state was because my lifestyle had been impacted by recent incidents… including the loss of our pillar." All Might stood there embarrassed, but he also understood that this was an important thing for the students to know.

"The effects of such an incident have begun springing up much sooner than I had anticipated. From now on, great chaos awaits us in this world. It will be especially apparent to those of you in the Hero Course, though this still applies to every student here regardless of course. You must take great care when doing your schoolwork. Take them even more seriously. This includes your Hero Internships. This used to only be available to those in their second and third years, but we've had to change some things."

The first-year students were rather confused at the last part. Hero Internships? They had done something like internships in the past, but this was clearly different. Because of recent circumstances, they've had to change some things to allow freshmen now too? It was a bit confusing.

"Dark topics like this always liven up the party, eh?" Togedemaru laughed. "Anyway, the adults are hard at work to do something about the situation. Learn from their handwork and take everything to heart. Every one of you, whatever the course, do not forget that you are the next generation the world is depending on."

Togedemaru… bowed? Well, he tried to despite his practically spherical body then moved off the platform. Vlad King moved on and grabbed the microphone while looking at his clipboard. "Thank you, Principle Togedemaru. To close, we have a few warnings. Mr. Hound Dog, our guidance counselor, will be the one to give them."

Hound Dog, a large man with blonde hair, stepped up to the podium and grabbed the mic. His presence was… intimidating, to say the least. "I'll make this brief. Last night, some students got into a fight. We understand that you are still getting used to life in your dorms, but let us try to live together in moderation." He said in a shockingly relaxed and kind voice.

Momo pinched the bridge of her nose and let out a sigh. "Midoriya and Bakugo are gonna be treated as problem children now, aren't they?" Class A was, of course, familiar with the rivalry between Katsuki and Izuku. They knew that Katsuki hated Izuku for… some reason, but not everybody knew the ferocity of their relationship. To Class A, the fight was pretty much inevitable, but to the rest of the school, they were now pretty much delinquents.

In the back, one third-year girl with blue hair walked up to her classmate and whispered something. "Hey, I heard about the fight last night. I know who the two kids who fought were." She said, causing the boy she whispered to to smile. "Oh?"

The classes later returned back to their classrooms to finally resume classes. 1-A had other matters running around in their heads though, with the most notable one being the fact that they'd have to run off to new internships soon.

"Alright, we'll be continuing our classes," Aizawa said. "I know a lot of things have been happening and your lives have been hectic, but you'll need to switch gears and focus on your duties as students. We'll keep everything in the classroom for today, but training is gonna be a lot harder this semester."

"Excuse me, sir. Can I ask a question?" Tsuyu raised her hand. Aizawa nodded, giving her the go signal. "Can you tell us about the internships the principal mentioned this morning?"

Aizawa let out a sigh and rubbed the back of his neck. "I was gonna tell you all about this another time but I guess it makes sense to tell you about it now. Basically, it's just Hero activities outside of the school. It's similar to those internships you did before after the sports festival, but this one is more 'real' so to say."

That… made some sense? It wasn't exactly clear, but Ochako herself had a question. "Th-Then why did we work so hard at the festival?!" She shouted. They had all worked double-time and pushed themselves to the limit to impress the Heroes there after all.

"It's true," Tenya said. "Even if we had those internships, then the opportunities we had during the festival aren't as important. Everyone's gonna get the same opportunities anyway."

"Not quite," Aizawa said. "In these internships, you'll use the scouting process from the sports festival as connections. Unlike those, these won't be part of your regular classes. It's up to you individually. For those who didn't receive any invitations at the festival, this'll be pretty difficult. What we used to do before was have individual agencies recruit students, but UA kids were difficult to find agencies for, so we settled on a system like this. Hope that answers your question, Uraraka."

Ochako nodded embarrassingly and sat back down. "S-Sorry for interrupting you like that, sir." Aizawa simply shrugged and continued. "Since most of you have your provisional licenses, you can assist in Hero Activities in more real ways. That being said, it's pretty rare for students as young as you to receive their licenses. Given the recent increase in crime rate, we're being very careful with how we're handling your activities."

He cleared his throat and stretched his arms. "That's all for now. You'll probably hear more about this at a later date when we've finalized all the details, but give us a little time. We're dealing with a lot of things too. Class dismissed."

Later that day, all the students returned home to find Izuku and Katsuki cleaning around the house. This was one of their duties as suspended students, and it wasn't exactly… the coolest thing they could be doing. Some of the students even teased Katsuki about missing spots, only for him to naturally redirect the insults back at Izuku.

Eventually, the students got to talking about some of their lessons that day, and Izuku overheard it. They even mentioned the hero internships, and that was certainly a shocking thing to hear. It was then that he realized how much he had missed out just from one day. One day. That's all it took for him to slowly be left behind.

"What are you doing dawdling around, Mr. House Arrest?!" Tenya walked up to Izuku, shocking him. "Ah, I-Iida… what are… hero internships?"

"Sorry, but we were forbidden by the teachers to relay any of our classes' content to you or Bakugo. You two will really have to fully experience the consequences of your actions. You hear that, Bakugo?!"

"Shut up! I hear ya, motherf- agh!" Katsuki threw the trash bag down in anger, causing it to pop and spill out all its contents, filling both problem students with dread.

Later that day, Izuku was carrying out the trash with the help of his Pokemon. There were quite a lot of trash bags, but he was lucky enough to have some pretty strong members. Eevee and Riolu were each able to carry around two, with the former having to hold them with her mouth, while Blaziken was able to hold around six, three in each hand. Golisopod was quite impressive though, able to hold two in each of his four hands while also holding two more on each claw on his upper claws.

Izuku himself held two trash bags, one in each hand, and he began talking to his Pokemon. "Man, we've missed so much! We're being left behind…" He said. His anxiety was honestly worrying for them. Eevee tried to comfort her trainer, but he was too deep in his own head at this point.

"It's the same for regular classes. Damn… these three days of suspensions are gonna be really bad… there's Hero training tomorrow too and everyone's gonna be improving…" He then looked to his partners who were clearly concerned and smiled. "Okay, we're gonna work three times as hard to catch up!"

That determination was just what they wanted to hear and all four of them smiled back. They nodded in agreement, just as determined as him.

Suddenly, as they turned a corner, one man was standing there, right at the corner. He remained there, very still for some odd reason. Izuku and the others just stared at him in confusion. The man had short blonde hair. He was fairly tall and he had what seemed like an everlasting smile on his face.

"You can throw away the trash with the food trays and stuff over there." The boy pointed to one of the garbage cans, but Izuku was more concerned by the fact that this random man was standing behind their dorm. "A-Ah… right…"

Izuku turned back to walk towards the garbage cans, but he quickly looked back after hearing Eevee shout in fear. Suddenly, the man was standing right in front of them, still smiling, causing Izuku to scream from the sudden appearance.

"Ah, you're that energetic first-year I heard of!" He began laughing. "I must've scared you, right? Sorry 'bout that! Though, I did want to scare you a little." He continued laughing, though it was really starting to freak all of them out.

"W-Who are you?!" Izuku asked, but the boy simply laughed. "Ah, I sometimes wonder that myself! Anyway, I'm glad you're so energetic. I wanted to come to see if the rumors were true. You'll learn about me soon enough." He said before turning away. "Anyway, I'll be seeing you!" He said before running off.

The confused Izuku, along with his Pokemon, simply stood there in bewilderment, completely stunned at what they had just witnessed. That's when Izuku looked down and came back to his senses. "I… I think I've seen that guy somewhere before."
