It took them another fifteen minutes to catch their breath and get ready to hunt down the demon.

"Okay, if you see the eyes, say 'lethargic cows,' and then we shine our light on them. Got it?" Miku said.

"Yup!" Len replied.

"lethargic cows?" Luka asked skeptically, crossing her arms.

"Well, it's not like the phrase 'lethargic cows' is going to come up often in conversation." The teal haired singer responded, checking the batteries in her flashlight.

"Whatever." Luka rolled her eyes. There was no winning in this.

As soon as Miku had confirmed that the flashlight was in working order, they set off through the woods, Luka leading the group and Miku in the back. Len insisted in being in between them, probably because he was terrified of being suddenly snatched. Branches and dried leaves crunched under their feet, the only other noise being cicadas and some other animals. Luka's eyes were starting to adjust to the dark surroundings, and she took a quick glance around. The tents were nowhere to be found. Where the heck were they?

It was another five minutes of walking before they spotted the red eyes.

"D-LETHARGIC COWS!" Len screamed, pointing into the woods at the approaching red orbs. It would be at this point that Miku shone her light at the trees, if it weren't for her panicking and dropping the light.

Because the plan working would be too easy, right?

Luka scrambled to pick up the flashlight, hands fumbling over the ground in search of the teal object. Len screamed again and Luka's hand finally found the cool surface of the flashlight. She picked it up and flicked it on, pointing the beam at the red orbs.

"Tei?"

Standing there in the darkness, shielding her eyes from the bright glow of the flashlight, was the white haired Utauloid herself, Sukone Tei.

"Could you stop shining that in my eyes?"

Luka lowered the flashlight. "What are you doing here?"

"I was following Len, and then you all started freaking out."

"Following meaning stalking." Len muttered under his breath.

"So... So what were those red eyes?" Miku stuttered.

"Tei..." Luka started, "Do your eyes glow in the dark?"

"Yeah, don't everyone's eyes do that?"

"No, Tei. I'm pretty sure you're the only one." Luka shivered. This girl was the very definition of creepy.

"Wait, so this entire time we thought we were running from a demon, but it was just Tei being creepy?" Len said.

"It would appear so." Luka groaned.

Tei smiled. "Can I have a hug, Len?"

"Sure, whatev-" Len was cut off when Tei glomped him with a huge grin on her face. The blonde sighed and accepted his fate.

"Okay, now that we've established there's no danger, can we go sleep? It's almost ten thirty." Luka said, checking her watch.

"Sure. Which way back to the camp?" Miku asked.

There was a long silence as everyone realized that they were lost.

"ARE YOU KIDDING?!" Luka screamed to the heavens.

"Well, we should probably just try to walk back the way we came."

"Which way was that?" Tei asked, still refusing to remove herself from Len.

"I think that way." Miku said, pointing off into the darkness.

"No, I think it was that way." Said Len, pointing in the opposite direction.

"Are you sure? I came from over there." Tei chimed in.

"Oh for the love of- let's just go this way, we're bound to come out of the woods at some point." Luka finally said.

"Okay!" Miku agreed, taking her flashlight back and using it to illuminate the path ahead of them.

The four set off, Miku leading with the only flashlight, Tei holding Len's hand in the middle, the blonde having finally given up, and Luka in the back trying to see if anything looked remotely familiar. They had been walking for what felt like an hour (but had probably only been a few minutes) when it started to rain. Well, pour was more accurate.

"Rain!" Miku yelled.

"No, really?!" Luka responded as the group started to jog. There was a clap of thunder and Len screamed.

This was the worst night ever.

"I think there's a house up there!" Miku yelled.

"Well, let's go!" Tei screamed, picking up Len.

"Put me down!" Len yelled, kicking but giving up pretty quickly.

Finally, Luka caught a glimpse of the house. It looked like a haunted house out of a ghost story- Victorian design, windows boarded up, shingles missing, overgrown lawn. The only thing missing was- oh, no, there's the creepy shadow in the window.

"We are not going in there." Just as these words left Luka's mouth, lightning struck about ten yards away. "Never mind."

They ran onto the porch, wringing out their hair as Len knocked on the door. It swung open on the second knock, revealing a suspiciously Victorian interior.

"Hello?" Miku called nervously, stepping into the threshold of the house. There was no answer except the pitter-patter of rain and creak of the floorboards.

"I... I guess no one lives here." Len said nervously.

"Great, we can stay out of the rain in here!" Miku said cheerfully, walking further into the house, Tei and Len following. Luka stayed resolutely outside the door.

"No." She said. "We are not doing this."

"Why?" Tei asked, looking over her shoulder.

"This place screams 'haunted mansion.' We are not spending the night here."

Lightning once again hit very close.

"Never mind." Luka stepped into the house, cursing whatever deity may be doing this to her as the door shut behind her.

Make it out of the creepy woods, find your way into a haunted mansion.
So I finished the camping trip! Now onto the next part of this disaster... Thinking about this story, the title doesn't really make sense at this point. Oh well. I should post the next chapter sometime this week. Thanks for reading!
