The group had only been working two days, and already things were not going well.
The deli that Tei worked at wanted to fire her, but everyone was too scared to approach her. The one time they had attempted to tell her she needed to leave, she looked at them with a huge grin, laughing, not even pausing in her task of slicing a ham for a customer who looked as if she may need to receive therapy following this.
Kaito hadn't been the same since he'd been fired. He was very upset, locking himself in his room and eating ice cream. God only knows where that stuff was coming from. It was like there was a truck full of it following him around. Luka had no idea why he was so upset. He had only worked in the ice cream parlor for a half hour before he was fired. He didn't even get paid.
The Car wash-slash-lemonade stand was going well, although Rin's marketing strategy of selling tomato juice as "the blood of her enemies" wasn't really helping. There were also some annoyed customers who had their cars washed. When they were nasty, James pooped on their cars, annoying them to no end when they found it. Len had almost had enough of people asking him how much a car wash was, or teenage girls asking for his number. It was enough to drive anyone insane.
Speaking of insanity, Miku's job was slowly driving her into madness. Luka had no idea what was wrong with it, but she came back every night thoroughly disturbed and humming a song under her breath. The one time Luka had dared ask her how she was faring in the pizzeria, Miku looked at her like she was the crazy one.
"THE CHICKEN." She screamed, making Luka jump. "IT WON'T STOP CAMPING MY DOORS!"
Luka had no idea what this meant. She made a mental note to ask Tei about good therapists in the near future.
Luka and Teto seemed to be the only ones doing well in their jobs. Luka had gotten a job in a fish and chips shop, and the manager was very pleased by her performance. Teto was still shocking the entire staff of the bakery with her expertise of every type of bread that exists. It looked as if they were both going to get raises soon, while the others looked like they were slowly spiraling into insanity.
On this particular night, Luka was sitting on the couch, watching the news on TV. Rin and Len were making some mixture of bananas and oranges in the blender, Oliver was playing with James, and Miku was rocking back and forth in the corner mumbling about bears and phones. At this point, Luka was seriously concerned.
"Alright!" Rin shouted, standing up. "It's a big day tomorrow! It's Thursday, and we all get the weekends off!"
Everyone sighed in relief, while Miku mumbled something about overtime and the number eighty-seven.
"So, Let's all get some sleep tonight!" Rin turned to Miku. "Uh, sorry Miku. You're gonna have to leave for work in just a minute."
"Oh, don't worry. I'm ready." Miku stood up and pulled on a jacket. "I am ready for Freddy." She said, more to herself than anyone else, and walked out the front door.
"I'm starting to worry about her." Teto said.
There was a mumble of agreement as everyone went off to bed. The one thing Luka liked about Miku's night job was that she got the room to herself.
Luka changed into some silky pajamas and shut off the light, crawling under the covers. She sighed and closed her eyes.
"Len," Oliver whined. "It's dark over here. Why do you get the window bed?"
"What, afraid of the dark?" Len said.
"No! It's just not fair! Why do you get the better bed?"
"Because I'm older than you, and also just generally better." Len replied. "Go to sleep."
Oliver made an annoyed sounding noise, but rolled over and closed his eyes.
Len looked out the window, past the tree directly outside. Some neighbors still had their lights on, despite it being almost midnight. He groaned and re-adjusted his blankets, looking out the window again.
"AUGH!" Len screamed, bolting up in bed and screaming again. Tei was staring right through the window at him, her red eyes glowing brightly in the dark.
"What, afraid of the dark?" Oliver mocked, sitting up on his bed and turning to Len.
"NO! IT'S TEI!"
"What?" Oliver climbed out of his bed and looked out the window. "Augh! What is she doing there?!"
"I don't know, probably watching me sleep!"
"What should we do?!"
"How should I know?!"
Tei climbed closer to the window, causing both boys to scream and cling to each other as she slowly opened it and started to climb inside.
Luka opened her eyes. How many times was she going to be woken up by screaming? This was ridiculous. Kaito probably found a spider or something.
She climbed out of bed, hearing faint voices down the hall before the screaming started again. Luka rushed into the hall, tearing open Len and Oliver's door.
Tei was standing above the screaming blondes, smiling ear to ear. "Leeeen~" She sang.
"Tei, get out!" Luka yelled. "How did you even get in here?"
"Window!" Len screamed, backing up farther.
"Oh for the love of- Hold on, I'll get Rin. Tei, sit on the bed." The yandere obeyed and Luka made her way out of the room and knocked on the closet door. "Rin? I'm coming in." She called, opening the door.
"Oh my god." She managed, staring at the huge room. A king sized stood in the middle with what looked like very expensive sheets. The floors were carpeted, and there was a chandelier hanging from the ceiling. It even looked like there was a bathroom attached. "Closet" indeed.
Luka walked up to the sleeping figure in the bed. "RIN!" She yelled.
"WHAT?!" Rin shot up, looking at Luka. "Oh, hey Luka. Whad'ya think of the place?"
"You told us this was a closet!"
Rin shrugged. "You should know by now not to trust me."
Luka groaned. "Come on, Tei found a way into Len and Oliver's room and they're both freaking out."
"Jeez. I knew this would happen. Tei always finds a way in." Rin got out of bed, shoved on some slippers, and followed Luka into the other room.
"Hey Len!" Rin said. "Is Tei bothering you?"
"She broke in!" Len sputtered.
Tei smiled. "Mmm hmm."
"Okay, Tei, go back to sleep." Tei reluctantly left the room. "Len, lock your doors from now on." Rin said.
Len nodded.
"Okay, that settles that. I need my beauty sleep, so I'm going back to bed. Night." Rin left the room and Luka heard the "closet" door slam shut.
She sighed. "Good night Len. Oliver." Luka mumbled and made her way back to her bed, immediately passing out on top of it.
Len locked the door and turned to Oliver. "You take the window bed."
"No way."
That took less time than the last chapter! My writer's block is going away! :D Also, I think this is one of the longer chapters... It's got over 1000 words. Also, I put in a FNAF reference a few chapters ago, and people actually kind of liked it? I don't really know, but I kind of know where I'm going with this. No, this isn't going to turn into a crossover fanfic. I will keep the genres apart, I promise.
I meant to have this up yesterday, but my router died and I had to wait. Sorry about that.
Thank you to all of the reviewers! You guys are awesome!
Thanks for reading!
