Whilst Len was pounding on the door and screaming, Oliver and Rin were huddled on the couch, watching an old movie on TV.
"OHH, BURN!" Rin screamed, standing up and clapping her hands. Oliver sighed.
"Rin, I understand this is exciting, but can you try to calm down?"
"That was the sickest burn I've ever seen in an old movie like this." Rin said, turning around and grinning.
Oliver opened his mouth to sigh again, and suddenly they were in the dark.
Oliver yelled and Rin laughed. From upstairs, Miku screamed something about a tablet battery and ran down the stairs, diving under the kitchen table.
"Come and get me, Freddy!" She screamed.
Kaito ran into the room and fell onto the couch on top of Oliver. "What is this?" He asked.
"It's me, you dolt!" Oliver yelled, pushing Kaito off of him. The blunette fell to the floor unceremoniously with a dull thud.
"Oomph." Kaito grunted, pushing himself off the floor. "Where am I?"
"Living room." Rin said. "I think the power went out."
"No, really?" Miku said sarcastically from under the table. "Anyway, get down. Freddy'll be here soon."
Rin shook her head and turned back to Oliver. "My eyes are adjusting, but it's probably a good idea to get some flashlights."
"Yeah. Do we have any of those?"
A clap of thunder shook the house and Kaito screamed, clinging to Oliver's leg.
"Get off!" The Engloid yelled, shaking his leg and trying to throw him off. Kaito clung on for dear life as he was jerked around the living room.
"What is even happening?!" Miku shouted, poking her head out from under the table. "Do we have flashlights or not?!"
Rin walked to the broom closet and opened the door. "I don't think we- oh wait! I found one!" Rin reached into the closet and resurfaced with one dusty, ancient- looking lamp.
Oliver eyed the lamp skeptically. "Are you sure that's gonna work?"
"We can give it a go!" Rin said. "Wait- do you think there's a genie in here?"
"Genie?!" Kaito asked, looking up.
"Hold on." Rin rubbed some of the dust off the lamp.
Nothing happened. "Oh well, it would've been nice to have three wishes."
"Who cares? Just turn on the lamp." Miku said, crawling out from under the table.
"Okay, Miku. Calm down." Rin said, searching for the on button. She found it on the bottom of the light and pressed it. The light flickered on weakly, but casting enough light to actually see around without straining your eyes too much.
"Success!" Rin fist pumped the air. "We got light!" The blonde set the light on the coffee table and plopped down next to Oliver.
"Does this place have a generator?" Kaito asked.
"Nope."
"My ice cream will melt!"
"Not my problem." Rin turned to Miku, who was sitting down on an armchair. "What should we do now?"
The teal haired girl shrugged. "Do we have any board games?"
"I think there might be a few in the closet." Rin stood up and looked into the same closet she had gotten the lamp from and peeked in. "Yeah, we've got Monopoly, Checkers, and an Ouija board."
"Okay, we can rule out the Ouija board." Oliver said from the couch. "I've had enough ghosts for the next century or so."
Rin nodded. "'Kay. So how about Monopoly?"
"Sure." Miku grinned. "I'm actually pretty good at this game!"
"I HATE THIS GAME!" Miku screamed, falling back onto the cushions of her armchair. As it turned out, Oliver was really good at Monopoly. So good, in fact, that he owned almost all of the board.
"Pay up." Oliver said, holding out his hand to Miku. "You owe…" He checked the board. "Five hundred dollars."
"I don't have that much!" Miku cried, flipping through her bills. "You took everything I had from your other hotels!"
Oliver shrugged. "Looks like you're out."
MIku screamed angrily and threw her three bills down on the board. Oliver picked the all up and added them to his own stack. "Who's next?" He asked.
Rin laughed nervously. "I'm actually getting kind of bored with this game… Is there anything else we can do?"
Kaito looked up from his position on the floor, where he had fallen when he'd lost to Oliver. "I dunno. I think there was a checkers board…"
"Yeah, but there's four people here." Miku said.
"Well, there's also an Ouija board-"
"I already said we aren't doing that!" Oliver said, starting to clean up the board.
"Wait…" Miku started, looking as if she had suddenly just realized something. "Four people?" She looked around. "Where's Len?!"
Rin shot up from her chair. "I forgot!" She screamed, running to the door and throwing it open. "LEEEN!"
"What?"
Rin looked around, puzzled. Where did that voice come from?
"I'm under the porch!"
Rin leaned down and peeked underneath the stairs. Sure enough, there was Len, holding a PS Vita and looking rather annoyed.
"Oh my gosh, Len! I'm so sorry!" Rin cried.
"I'm going to freeze to death."
"Come on!" Rin pulled him into the house and shoved him down onto the couch. "Are you okay?!"
"Yeah, I'm fine. Thanks for locking me out." Len unpaused his game and looked down at the screen. "You owe me a hot chocolate. Go get me one."
Rin nodded and ran off.
Len sighed and shivered. "I'm freezing."
Oliver tossed a blanket at him. "Here."
"Thanks." Len wrapped the blanket around his shoulders and resumed his game. "Now stop bothering me, I'm in a Class Trial."
Oliver was about to ask what a "class trial' was, but decided not to. Len seemed pretty ticked off.
From the kitchen, Kaito screamed. "HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT!"
"SORRY!" Rin yelled.
Kaito ran into the room screaming with a brownish stain on his chest.
"Rin, did you just spill hot chocolate on Kaito?" Miku asked.
"Maybe…" She responded, poking her head out of the kitchen. "It's gonna be a few more minutes, Len."
I have returned! Thank you for not abandoning me!
I actually wrote this chapter in the line for Space Mountain. It was great.
Just a note- I'm not sure if the correct grammar is "an ouija board" or "a ouija board" because of the pronunciation, so let me know if I'm wrong!
Thank you to the reviewers, and thank you for reading!
