"You said he would arrive soon, usually I would be asleep by now." A black hair man yawns, sitting on a couch.
"Ease yourself Aizawa, to train the next generation of heroes. We're gonna need the best of the best, including the dangerous ones," Nezu says.
"Yeah I haven't forgotten, it makes me tremble when I see him in person. He's not merciful, I'll tell you what gave me this scar right here," Aizawa says, pointing under his right eye.
"Really, so you don't really have a good relationship with him?" Nezu asks.
"More like a respectable one," Aizawa says.
They wait for a while, as hours pass with no confirmation. Both being very sleepy, drinking some coffee to energize them. Thinking nothing will happen, a white portal appears in the room. Waking them from their sleepiness, on their guard and someone appears through the portal. Kane emerges, Nezu excited to see him and gestures to him to sit down. He pulls up the chair, sitting down and puts one of his foot on his knees as he listens to Nezu's proposal.
"Glad you were able to at least come by, well let's get started. Firstly, I would ask you to join the U.A staff," Nezu asks.
"Reason?" Kane asks.
"See, you would understand what's happening in this world. And we need to train the next generation of heroes, that's why I would ask you to join in to train the next generation," Nezu explains.
"I'll have to agree with the world part, training on the other hand needs a different term. And some negotiating will have to be made in order for both of us to have what we want." Kane says, lounging in the chair.
Discussing the pros and cons of him joining U.A, public eye, trust, way of training, etc. Nezu is surprised how knowledgeable Kane is, making him want to join U.A. more than ever. When Nezu brings up something, Kane counters back with his knowledge on how he can change it or how that'll affect him. Eventually this goes on for some hours, agreeing with what they got. Kane would join the U.A staff, however would be able to do his mercenary job and let him make important choices at U.A. Aizawa was sleeping, Kane bowing towards Nezu and leaving through a portal as it disappeared.
"Phew, that went ok." Nezu sighs, and Aizawa wakes up.
"Is it over?" Aizawa asks Nezu.
"Yes, but he made good arguments for my proposal. So Technically, he's having authority over basically what he does." Nezu says looking at his notes of Lunar, mostly requirements from him. "It's a lot of requirements, but it'll be worth it in the end."
-Days later-
"Where is he, he should be here," Aizawa says.
"Who? All Might? Haven't seen him either," A woman says, all of them at a window.
"No, someone else," Aizawa says.
"It was explained to us during that press conference, do you remember Midnight?" All Might says, in a skinny business suit.
"Oh yeah, the special guest that'll join us in U.A. It wasn't said who, wasn't it?" Midnight questions.
"It wasn't explained, just wait until he gets here," Nezu says, sipping his cup of tea.
"Ohh, a man I see. Fair enough," Midnight says as she shrugs.
They all stand near a glass window, giving a huge scenery of sectors and tv screens that show each sector. They're here to assess, watch the students at the entrance exam and see. A white portal appears behind all of them, turning around to see who it was. Kane appears from the portal, most of them on guard immediately.
"Settle down, settle down, he's with us now. Or technically, we're with him right now," Nezu explains, going between them.
"What do you mean Nezu, he's a killer. And he's right here, we can take him into custody," All Might says, already trying to punch Lunar.
He creates a portal, All Might's fist going into the portal and another portal appearing to the side of him. Punching himself in the face, sending him across the room and smashing into the wall.
"Easy, Easy. We've been negotiating, he'll be here to train the next generation, All Might!" Nezu says, helping him up and slapping him in the face.
"What do you mean negotiation Nezu, what did you do that he's here," One cement block says, easing knowing how he's not harming them.
"To basically explain, I got a hold on him to discuss with him. In the end, we both got what we wanted to do. I get him to train the next generation of heroes to protect the ever changing world, in exchange to let him have access to all file case of heroes and gets to keep his mercenary job,"
"What!" All Might says, rubbing the part that he was slapped. "Why would you allow him to access such files?"
"It was an investment, it'll be worth it to train the next heroes more than the files." Nezu sadly staring off into space, all of them realizing what he's trying to get at.
All of them go to the window, the entrance exam is about to start in a couple of minutes. Kane walked beside them, intensely watching the small students all crowding at the entrance of the big door. As Present Mic announces the start of the Entrance Exam, getting the attention of everyone. He explains what'll happen and what notes will be taken when examining their test, noting everything will matter. He slams a button on a panel, opening all of the doors and announcing there's no countdown. Everyone rushing through the doors, starting their mass murder of robots using their quirks. Time ticks by, most of the students noting a lot of the students. Nezu looks up at Lunar, seeing him staring into one of the monitors.
"Anything you like to share about the students, perhaps a lot of flaws?" Nezu asks.
"The green hair one, he hasn't gained any points yet. Most likely not qualifying at this point, and most of the other kids aren't using their full potential power. Note that you'll have to train their quirks and physical physics, otherwise they won't be heroes," Chris says, continuing to watch.
Nezu takes that for granted, writing it down on his clipboard and continuing watching. More time passes, taking more notes of all of the kids' flaws and strengths. Time is nearly finished, about five minutes left of robot killing. Kane noted a lot more students' flaws during the Entrance Exam, four more clipboards were already written. The last five minutes kinda surprised all of them, a big robot emerges from each section. A big zero pointer emerges, everyone running away from the huge robot. Except for a kid, jumping towards the giant robot and charging his power. It's the same green haired kid, punching the robot and making a giant huge hole into the robot. Surprising all of them, seeing the green hair kid fall and being saved by a brown hair girl. Then taking notes, Nezu asks Kane for more opinion.
"Well, what about that kid now?" Nezu looks at Kane.
"He proved me wrong slightly, if you were watching closely. He fractured his leg and arm, injuring himself at full power. Still not enough to pass, although he had more control of his quirk. He surely will be able to be a hero, probably not the best," Kane says, All Might listening in and being disappointed in himself.
"Well, there are a lot of things to remember, looking at all of these clipboards," Nezu says, turning around to see a small pile of them.
"I'll be taking my leave now," Kane says.
"Wait before going, do you mind helping assess all the files and points?" Nezu requests.
"Fine."
Kane is looking through the files and tallying up the points for each one, putting them away on a pile. Grabbing the next one and inspecting, the rest are doing the same as well. Inspecting, putting it away and grabbing the next file, time ticks away. Hours passed, he was free from this dawning task. Everyone else finishes it up too, relieved that they're finished as well. Nezu walks by, realizes they finished it up and brought them all tea. Handing one cup to each person, and finally giving it to Kane. Kane looks at the tea and looks back at Nezu, he realizes and takes the cup of tea back and leaves. Kane gets up, about to take his leave through a portal he creates, but Nezu stops him.
"Wait, do you remember the deal that we made?" Nezu asks him.
"Did you finish my request that I wanted?" He asks.
"Yes, right here," Nezu says, pointing at Aizawa holding something.
He takes off the cover, revealing a full mask. A white futuristic mask, with technology that he'll be able to use fairly easily. Taking the mask, he turns around to switch his mask to test it out. He puts it on for the first time, making a perfect fit and attaching itself with a strap. Letting it go, it's light and comfortable to wear. He tested the technology of the mask, seeing identities and projection on the eyes. They watch, hearing a door being opened behind them. They turn to see a brown haired girl walk in, stopping beside the door.
"Umm, excuse me? Can I ask something?" She says.
"What's your name girl," Midnight says, bending down to her level.
"Um, Uraraka, Miss," Uraraka says.
"Tell me, why are you here? Is it something to do with the Entrance Exam?"
"Yes, it's about the zero pointer. You see, when that green haired kid saved me. Do you think you can add my points to his?"
"No worries, we took note of that. Trust me, he's alright to pass."
"Thank you, sorry for bothering you. I'll leave right now," She says, leaving through the door and the door closes.
While that happened, Kane already left through the portal and back to his apartment. Nezu turns to see him disappear, ecstatic to see what he would do during the 1st day. Kane appears in his apartment, readying for his patrol for tonight. Packing supplies and snacks, seeing the moonrise and leaving through his window. Flying out and falling through the portal, appearing on another building. Running through roof to roof, unshieving his new blade to test it out. Slicing through the air and making a portal, going through and appearing at another building. He stops, smiling at the blade, continuing his patrol.
Bodies fall and heads hit the concrete ground, blood spilling everywhere. Some people's bodies split open from Kane's blade, not from its sharp edge. Walking from the alleyway and cleaning the blood off the blade. Looking to his right to see some people go to an alleyway, covered by the hoodies. He teleports to the roof to look over, watching them carefully. A person hands them a box full of drugs, which one he can't see from here. Until he hears something from the other end of the alleyway, seeing a figure standing there. Firing a ball of energy from on top of her towards the group, all of them dodging. They walk out from the shadow, Kane instantly knowing who she is. Kasli, also known as the Grandchild of the Ouroboros, well known for the three years that she's been doing. Kane watches more carefully, seeing the group rev up their quirk and fight. Rushing in through the energy surge, they skillfully maneuver around the small alleyway. Kasli makes more surges around her, trying to hit them through the small alleyway. Both of them get closer, Kasli stancing with her staff and blocking an attack with her staff. Kicking one of them away, ducking and hitting the other one away from her. Pushing them back, repeating this over and over again. They get frustrated, grabbing one of the glass bottles from the box and drinking everything inside. Veins from their body sprouted out, their quirks being more enchanted as they ran quicker and hit harder. Kasli couldn't parry them back this time, getting hit by one of them and kept getting hit more. She's bleeding as she is about to be slammed to the ground, before a portal opens up and she goes through.
Kane walks through the portal, making another portal to not get hit by one of them. The other one bounced from the wall and charged his punch towards him, but his fist went through a portal and punched the other one. He unsheathes his pure wight blade of his quirk, slicing one of them and making a portal inside. He throws a dagger through the portal, appearing through a portal that appears underneath the other one. Piercing through the heart, both falling to the ground and bleeding. He cleans the blade, sheathing it back and walking to the other dead body that he killed. Inspecting the box full of mottles, seeing more drug enhancing in the box. He tosses it through the portal, sending it to the police station to let them get it. He teleports to the roof where Kasli is, seeing her passed out on the roof. He picks her up, Kane getting a closer look at her. She has really long messy black hair, light pale skin, and really tattered clothing. Taking her through a portal and appearing in his apartment, putting her on the couch. He inspected the wounds, being a fractured bone on the left forearm and scratches. Getting some bandages and alcohol for everything, dosing some of the big wounds with alcohol. Then wrapping everything with bandages, finishing up and leaving through the portal that was still there. Kasli was pretending to be knocked out, blushing as she took a nap.
Kane lands on top of a rooftop, receiving a call from Nezu. He looks at it and calls him while he sat down at the edge of the roof.
"How's your night going?" Nezu asks.
"It's alright, but you wouldn't call me just for that. What do you want?" Kane says.
"I see, yes I'll get to the point. I negotiated with another person to help with you in training, another known one. The thing is, I don't know If I should mention. Just in case, I'll keep it low until the first day starts," Nezu explains, looking at their file case.
"I see, when is it?"
"A week from now, anything to train the next generation, I don't mind," Nezu says.
"Good, they'll be going through hell. However, I rather know who's on my side, so if they turn. I'll kill them on the spot, or kick them out," He says, ending the call and putting his phone away.
He sits there, wondering who the other person is. Putting it off the side and continuing his trek from rooftop to rooftop. Continuing his slaughter, giving the reason why he got the name, Lunar.
Kane teleports back to his apartment, putting his weapon back before seeing Kasli awake. Putting away his weapons and straps on the armor locker.
"How was your nap?" He asks him.
"Was ok, thanks for the medical attention," She says.
"Sure, I thought you would be gone after you woke up?"
"I need a place to stay, I hope you don't mind." She says, with a snap changing clothes where she's more neat.
"Oh, you were that lady that I saved, interesting. Don't interact with to many things, it's best to not pry on everything."
"So, are you gonna show me your public identity since I showed you mine?"
"It's a mutual understanding, I will once I'm done putting away my stuff."
Kasli giggles, seeing Kane put away his stuff. Taking off his cloak and mask, putting his stuff on the armor stand. Kasli sees his face, covering her face from embarrassment. Blushing and quickly dismissing the whole thing, thinking of something. She ponders a question she should ask, but not right now. She has something to do in a week, looking over as he sits next to her.
"You ran into those dudes that I was facing? What were they doing?" Kasli asks.
"They were receiving drug enhancing quirks, gave it to the police to keep," He says, putting his arms behind his head.
"Really, so that's why they were so strong," Kasli says, putting her finger on her chin.
"WE COULD'VE WON WITHOUT YOUR HELP!" A shadow says, appearing above her head.
"Shut up Oro, I was holding back. We could have destroyed the building around us if we were to go all out." Kasli punches the shadow, going back in her hair.
"Meanie," Oro says.
"Enjoy your stay, I'm gonna sleep on my bed," Chris says, getting up and going to his room.
"Umm, do you have an extra mattress or not?" Kasli asks.
"You're on it right now." Chris closes the door, leaving her in silence.
"SILLY MAN, THIS IS A COUCH, NOT A BED," Oro says, appearing.
"No I think this is what he meant," Kasli says, pulling a lever on the couch and unfolding into a bed.
"WHAT, WHAT IS THIS TECHNOLOGY!"
"Shut up, go to sleep you black fog fiscus. I'm tired of hearing your shit," Kasli says, going to sleep and Oro going into her hair. Sleeping through the night, the atmosphere settling in place.
The next morning arrives, Kasli still sleeping on the sofa couch, drooling. Kane wakes up, stretches himself and gets out from the bed and goes to the bathroom to brush his teeth. He goes to the kitchen and opens cabinets below, looking up to see Kasli. Seeing her sleeping, he grabs some pots, some eggs, bacon, sausages. Turning on the stove and adding some cooking oil on it, first cooking the eggs scramble. Adding salt and pepper on it, putting the cooked eggs on a plate and adding bacon and sausages on it next. Cooking them to a good perfection, putting them on the same plate and taking a few of the three. Eating his food, scrolling through social media before heading off to the gym. Writing a note before leaving, leaving it near the plate and closing the door. An hour later, Kasli wakes up from her really good sleep last night. She sees Kane's door open, looking at the kitchen to see food. She gets up to go to the bathroom, pulling out her luggage and getting a toothbrush. Getting toothpaste too, brushing her teeth and finishing up as she goes to the kitchen. Seeing the note on the counter, grabbing it and reading it.
"I made some extra for you, I'll be outside of the apartment for some time. Do what you must to settle in, take care. Kane." She reads out loud, putting it aside and taking a piece of bacon.
She eats the piece of bacon, shocked there in place. Grabbing more of the food, chomping down on it. She ate all of it, thinking how delicious it was, finished the last piece and sat there happy. Pulling out her phone and looking through social media, scrolling for hours until she leaves the apartment. Going to the forest, passing trees of trees arriving at a part of the forest. Seeing how destroyed it was, she switched to her outfit and made a huge surge. Focusing on her quirk to train it up, while also training her close to close combat. More hours pass when she does this, getting tired and finishing her training.
"So this is where you train, huh" Kane says, hanging by a tree watching, " I was going to investigate this place, but I don't need to anymore."
"Oh, yeah." Kasli yawns, placing her hand over her mouth.
"Well, you're pretty tired. Come on, I'll be nice just this once," Kane says, making a portal and walking through.
She walks to the portal, arriving back at the apartment as she sits down on the sofa bed. Switching back to her neat clothes, watching Kane put on his outfit and leaving through the window. She yawns again, realizing she hasn't showered in a while, going to a store real quick to grab some. Getting her own shampoo too, heading back with her stuff and heading into the bathroom. Turning on the shower and washing herself in the bathroom, 45 minutes pass and she walks out the bathroom with her hair still being wet. Drying it with a towel as she walks around the apartment, looking around. Going into Kane's room, looking around seeing just a normal looking bedroom. She thought that he would be into something, but was surprised by the lack of decoration. Seeing something on a nightstand, she grabs a picture frame of Kane with two other people. His mom and dad, both smiling in the photo. Kane looks about his old teens, with two smaller people in the picture. His little brother had dark gray short hair, with tangerine-ish eyes. His little baby sister with black hair and green-ish eyes. Looking at this photo, it told her something. He misses them badly, and maybe she should ask how and why. Putting the photo down, drying her hair and lying on the sofa bed. Lying there, waiting for hours and Kane appears back through the portal. With a lot of bandages on him, surprising Kasli.
"Fucking hell, what happen to you?" She asks.
"Sigh, had a run in with Endeavor. He was really after me this time, of course to take me in. Had to really fight with him, although not killing him. Killing him would be more of a problem overall," Kane says, taking off his outfit.
"Oh," Kasli says, laying on the sofa bed.
"I got to do something next week, so I'll be here until I recover," Kane says.
"What would that be?" Kasli asks, confused, "Usually you appear almost every night."
"Busy with something that doesn't concern you right now," Kane says, putting his cloak on the armor stand.
"Jeez." Kasli sighs, switching her pillows side and lays on it.
-Next week-
Kane is putting on his outfit early in the morning, Kasli also preparing herself. Kasli comes out seeing him prepare, tapping him on the shoulder.
"Can you drop me off somewhere? I need to get there, by you," Kasli asks, looking at him dead in the face.
"Are you gonna tell me where, I need to know where." Kane turns around, looking at her with more of a deadly stare.
"Well, I need to be teleported to U.A," Kasli says, looking away in kinda embarrassment.
"You're working with Nezu huh," Kane says, Kasli froze there in place, "Don't worry, I'm in cahoots too."
"Fucking Christ, I was afraid you were gonna kill me." Kasli, holding her chest to breathe.
"It's fine, I wouldn't do that either way. Anyways, I presume we're gonna train the heroes?"
"Yep, I guess they call for the best. Either way, we're not going easy are we?"
"Nope, they'll learn how to control their quirk not by raw power alone."
"Okay welp, I'm ready when you are."
Kane opens up a portal and goes through, Kasli walks behind him. Arriving at Nezu's office, Nezu looks up surprised to see the two right there. Greeting them and gesturing to them to sit down, both of them sit down in the chair.
"I wasn't expecting you two to know each other," Nezu says.
"We have our ways of knowing each other," Kane says.
"Well Lunar, Kasli. Can you wait outside in the training ground, class 1-A will be there," Nezu asks.
"Sure, but expect some to be injured," Kasli says, both of them getting up and going through the portal.
They teleport to the training ground, seeing nobody there as they wait. Kane unsheathes his sword, playing around with it by practicing swinging with it. Kasli dusts off the dust on her staff, slamming it to the ground to dust off a lot of it. Leaning on the staff, looking at Kane to talk.
"Hey, I've been meaning to ask you something," Kasli says.
"What, Is it something I should know?" Kane asks.
"Do you miss them?"
"What are you on?"
"The people in your photo, do you miss them?"
"Oh, I actually saw them yesterday."
"…."
"I have a photo of them, because I love my family. Not every hero has to have a sad story," Kane says, recollecting the memories from yesterday.
The door opens, Kane walking in and getting hugged by his little sister. Kane's dad looks up from the kitchen, smiling as he greets him.
"Welcome back Kane, how are you doing," his dad says.
"Doing good, these bandages itch, that's it," Kane says, putting her sister on his back.
"Is that Kane!" His mother says, looking around the corner in the bathroom, "Oh my gosh, It's so good to see you!"
"Hi mom, I'm glad you got discharged from the hospital." Kane hugged his mom, then she put her hands on his face.
"Look at you, what happened to you during your mercenary job?" She asks.
"Run in with Endeavor, just some scrap marks," He says, putting his hands on her.
"Well enjoy your stay, by the way. Have you heard that Juto got into U.A," she asks.
"He got in? Dad, is this true?" Kane asks, surprised.
"Yeah, he got in that boy. I hope he can live up to you,``he says.
"Good on him for making it, although wanting to be like me may not be the best thing. What I do isn't really inspiring," Kain responds to his comment.
"Not in that way, but he still looks at you like a hero," He says, putting a hand on his shoulder.
"He said he would come by for today later, so stay Kane," His mom says.
"I'll stay," Kane says.
Kane spends the evening with his family, playing games with his little sister. Hearing a door being knocked and Kane's dad goes up to the door to open it. Seeing Juto at the door, greeting him and giving him a hug.
"How was moving into your new dorm?" He asks.
"Got comfortable, but I'm excited to start U.A," He says, coming into the house, "Is that Kane."
"What's good little man," Kane says, getting up and rubbing his head, "I heard you got into U.A"
"Yeah, are you proud?" He asks.
"Yeah I am, you're gonna make a great hero with that void manipulation!" Kane says.
"I will, watch me I'll graduate and make you even prouder!" He says, smiling at Kane.
He smiled back, dinner was ready and everyone sat at the table to eat. They enjoy the rest of the time together, all of them talking about Juto getting into U.A. At the very most, Kane's glad to see his siblings grow up. Eating his rice and pork quietly, thankful, he has what most lost.
"I never knew, I thought you would be the opposite of that," Kasli says.
"You don't know a person, unless you know them personally. That was always my motto, my dad taught me that," Kane says, seeing Aizawa walking towards them.
"Yeah," Kasli says, seeing Aizawa as well.
"Morning you two, I thought there would be some problems." Aizawa walked towards them, not hearing the conversation.
"It's respect," She says.
"I see, anyway. Can you go over there, wait for my signal and teleport in front of them? Need to see fear in their eyes," Aizawa asks them.
"That works for us," Kane says, both of them go around the building in the shadows and wait.
Some of the students come out from the door, arriving at the place where Aizawa was. Kane and Kasli watch more of the kids come in and arrive, peeking around the corner. They observe the students that are outside and speculating what their quirks are. Soon all the students are outside, Aizawa explaining what's gonna happen. It was not audible to hear Kane and Kasli, seeing Aizawa hand a ball to a dark grayed hair kid. Kane looked closer, kinda shocked, it was Juto. Juto knows Kain's Lunar, but doesn't know that he's here right now. Both of them see the ball being tossed, a blast of the void launching the ball into the air. The ball goes flying, Aizawa showing something to the students. Talking more on some hero stuff that they wouldn't be interested in, seeing him snap his finger in the air. Taking that as the indication and making a portal, going through.
"You see, this class will be different. You'll be supervised by these people." Snapping his portal and a portal is created, Lunar and Kasli come out. "Lunar, the eminent shadow of heroes. Kasli, the Grandchild of the Oroborus. You'll be going through the deepest of hell, these two won't be easy."
All of the kids are frightened, including the ones with problems. Juto is surprised, but not for the same reason as the others. He's surprised that his brother is here, in the flesh in his outfit in front of the. Aizawa walked back and forth between them, explaining what they would be doing.
"For now, do your best to impress them with your physical test. Based on how you use your quirk and how you're doing in general. They'll take you in and do whatever they do to you, so be prepared mentally, physically, and spiritually," Aizawa says, pulling a whistle and blowing on it.
Everyone is scared, but they know this is what it takes to be a hero. They're more scared of Lunar, wanting to prove themselves to him. The atmosphere grows tense outside, the glowing eye of the White and Blue eyes watches them. Kane and Kasli, with their expectations high, watch. Another whistle blows, and the students are at the standing line. The trial begins.
