Thank you for all of the reviews. My take on Hinatas feelings is not a way of simply replacing Naruto with Sasuke. She's loved Naruto for most of her life and I don't think these emotions would just disappear when she met Sasuke. To me it's only natural that even though she is happy now she still goes back to the feeling that was never reciprocated. That's all I have to say in her defense otherwise judge on your own :)
This land was one of the most beautiful places to live in. The temperature was not too high but still warm and pleasant, there were a lot of fertile lands with access to water from the many rivers and small lakes forming from said rivers. It had access to the see and the only unstable border was it the north with one of the unnamed counties in which Village Hidden by Rain was located. But since the war has ended even there the peace was maintained. It was also not as populated as the other counties were so the land was still mostly untouched. The whole scenery made a person feel at peace. And this didn't help Hinata with her worries from the other night. She felt the urge to just stay there and live a life of a normal person that hasn't taken part in any war and was happy with what the life brought. Live day by day and be just simply happy.
They spent their first full day in the country lazily. They mostly wanted to delight in a lively nature that surrounded them. It was as if they were absorbing the views, scents and the feeling. There was nothing to be urgent about. This was a perfect day in the unknown forests. Maybe it was partly because the joyous memory of the previous day but they didn't second guess anything. He was in a spectacularly good mood and started asking her questions but they weren't about things that could be described as important.
„Favorite color?"
„Light lavender" obviously „yours?"
„Red" she grinned
„They don't go well together" she pointed out.
„Favorite flower?"
„Oddly cornflowers, do you have a favorite flower?" She raised her eyebrow in question. Do men like flowers?
„Never thought of it, maybe lilies. My mom liked these" she looked at him and smiled softly. „Book?" He asked before she could dig into this.
„Oh… Hundred and one tales from the south?"
„What's it about?"
„It's a compilation of legends from… well these lands as well. You know, spirits of the trees, mighty warriors and the beginning of the world. What's yours?"
„Whereabouts" and when he saw a question on her face he added „A fiction, crime. People from the village start to disappear and main character tries to find them because he doesn't believe they are dead. A good read. Tell me one of these legends" at the end he raised his voice so it sounded like a question. She had to think harder to remember one of the stories from the book.
„Okay" she cleared her throat and started the story. „So the world is full of mystical creatures. One of which are spirits of the nature. They lived in these lands long before fist human appeared and were keeping everything alive. So when people started coming into these lands the spirits were curious. The first person they've ever seen was a man. He was alone and lost. They observed him for a while but saw that he was getting weaker and weaker. The spirits've been taking care of the animals living among them and knew that this newcomer was hungry so they fed him and took care of him. When he woke up he knew that something strange's happened and was more curious about this land than before. He was the first there so he decided to make it his home. He brought his family there and started building a home. Spirits started to worry, they were scared of the changes that this man caused. He chopped trees and destroyed some of their land. They started to be more hostile to the family and caused a lot of trouble for them. But the man was becoming able to see them and he fought back. He managed to capture some of the spirits and the others started to desert the land. Years went by and there were more and more people coming to live there. Spirits were being chased away further and further away. And this is how the first village was built. The captured spirits started talking, they decided to teach humans how to grow food, how to care for the land. And people used this knowledge. But not only for good. They used schoolings of fire spirits to create not only warmth in their homes but also a weapon against other newly formed villages nearby. The things they learned from the spirits of the ground they used to get rich. So the spirits stopped talking. And now there still are spirits but they won't help another human, sometimes the spirits even attack the villages with mighty force but they never win. And that's the legend of the first village and the nature of humans" she smiled sadly at him. „But there are some fun ones as well. One about the love of water and the flora. But I don't remember them that good" He was looking at her and thought that the legend she just told him could be expanded even towards ninjas.
„What if shinobi who can control their chakra affiliation are linked to these spirits?"
„Well I imagine spirits wouldn't be happy. About some foolish humans using their elements to cause harm and destruction" she answered and he nodded.
„Happiest memory?" He asked to change the mood
„From before we met?" She blushed at the implications she's given.
„Mhm"
„Few years ago at my birthday. Neji and Hanabi took me outside of Konoha for a picnic. It was odd then but now it's one of the most cherished memories I've got. Yours?"
„Watching with my mother how my brother trained throwing kunais" and they went back to answering these questions. They got to know what the others favorite food was, what was their favorite past time activity and all kind of things that never came up in a normal conversation. They both tried to remember every thing from this long list to use in the future.
They didn't even realize when they got to the Village Hidden in Valleys. It was one of the sights Hinata was so desperate to see. There were three separate rivers barely missing one another. All of the buildings were build on platforms made out of stone and wood. It was meant to save them from the water when the rivers overflew with it. Right now the level of the water was not that high. There were countless bridges connecting the buildings. All around the village there were plantations with all kind of cultivations. Right now there were a lot of people out there working in the field. All of the were wearing large, straw hats to cover them from the sunlight which was intense outside of the forest. They both were here for the first time so the sight of the village took them by surprise. But they both like this view. The buildings were simple but enchanting. The wood they were build with was painted colorfully. Some had some floral design painted on them. It all gave the village a feeling of a fairytale.
It was the first village in which they had to ask for direction towards an inn or a hotel. Woman they asked this question was seemingly surprised but pointed towards a big building on the edge of the city. It was painted white and had blue flowers on the walls. When they came inside they found out that this was mainly a bar. There were only a few people sitting by the counter.
„Is it an Inn?" Sasuke asked a woman that was pouring beer for one of the customers. She smiled and nodded.
„Would you like to rent a room?"
The room she took them to was small but everything about it looked warm and welcoming. The furniture was wooden but painted green. The window was facing outside the village onto the fields and the forest. It was starting to get dark outside so they decided to eat downstairs. Food they served was simple but delicious. They caught people watching them but it wasn't because they were afraid of anything. They were simply curious about the visitors. But after the whole day of walking and talking they were oddly tired and went upstairs.
When they were in the room Sasuke decided to go shower. And she sat in the bed for a minute but when she heard the water she decided to go ti him. Grin formed on her lips and she blushed red. She quietly went into the bathroom and looked in his direction. He was facing the wall so he didn't see her and she blushed even more but decided to be bold. She took her clothes off and went into the shower. When she touched his shoulder he turned towards her quickly surprised. There was foam in his hair and he looked boyish. She smiled and put her hands in his har and started rubbing. Giggle escaped her mouth and he grinned as well. He put some shampoo on her head and while he was massaging her scalp he hissed her. They both didn't care about the bitter taste of the shampoo of the kiss. His hands started massaging her shoulders and shoulder blades. Then she bit his lip and he pinned her to the wet wall and was all over her. He felt the warmth of her skin on him and knew she wanted the exact same thing so he got straight to it. There was no need for a foreplay. Both of them were ready. It was difficult for her to stand so he wrapped her legs around his hips and hugged her with one hand, second supporting them on the wall. This intercourse was different than the others. They were both lost in their senses and the world disappeared. Apart from the water there was a feeling of lust. When she came for the first time he turned off the water and took her straight into bed.
When they were lying in bed afterwards the mood in the room was still dense with emotions and both of them were out of words. There was really not one thing they could say that the other didn't already know. He was stroking her hair that were still wet and smelled of his shampoo. She was holding onto him and her head was on his chest. She could hear his heart that was beating evenly and loudly. The day they've just had was one of the most peaceful days in both theirs lives. There was longing for a life full of only such days but both knew it was unlikely. That's why even though this day was as perfect as a day could be part of them felt sadness caused by the inevitability of the end. They didn't even realize when they drifted off to sleep.
