Back at his fortress, Andreas was busy working on another invention of his, practically scrambling around it with a wielding torch in hand. But as he did this, he was also wondering what was taking his son so long.
Andreas:"Where is Andrew? He's going to be late to contribute to my latest project."
But then, due to faulty wiring, a fuse is blown out as smoke emerges and Andreas quickly tries to clear it while coughing. Ticked at turn of events, Andreas then sees that his son arrives soon after, covered in bruises and cuts, not looking as happy as he is. Andrew could see that his father was obviously confused by why he was the way he is right now.
Andrew:"(groans) I met with some of the kids?"
Andreas:"You what?! What happened?!"
Andrew:"...They got some new friends now."
Andreas:"What to you mean? What new friends?"
Andrew:""One orange polo-wearing, timid albino and one purple hoodie-wearing, cowardly Latino with a dark-haired ponytail."
Andreas:"I see...and what happened to my precious robot?"
Andrew:"They got trashed."
Angry at this, Andreas grabs his son by the collar of his jacket and shakes him violently.
Andreas:"You lost 9 of my robot soldiers, and lost the kids?! Can't you do anything right?! At least tell me you got the fire wood..."
Andrew:"Uh…I was gathering some…but, after I got the robots, I kinda forgot about that."
Andreas was silent and wide-eyed, as outside the fortress, some loud slapping can be heard. Andreas was spanking his son, and then Andrew screaming.
Back at the cabin, the kids had just returned from their little hunting trip, and explained everything to the others, who were shocked by what they had been through.
Beth:"You guys fought WHAT!?"
Melody:"Robotic soldiers, leading by Andrew."
Stella:"Yeah, but we managed to hold out own against them. Especially Melody, with her sword skills."
Melody:"It was nothing."
Raine:"It would seem that Andreas is enhancing his hunting skills more than how we could've thought."
Ronnie Anne:"Kinda makes you wonder what else he's working on."
NJ:"We might have a few ideas. During our time as his prisoners, I did managed to spot a few blueprints and charts for some future plans of his. He may have also been working on other inventions. For instance, I saw what appeared to be the busted remains of a computer looking to have been in a state of repair. And a few other things like armor piecing. Specifically, gauntlets and what looked like rocket boots."
Beth:"We'll worry about that later, NJ. For now, why don't we try to relax in any way we can? Any of you guys want to see the passage way I used to get into here?"
Lincoln:"I'm in!"
Jordan:"Me too!"
Ronnie Anne:"Sure!"
Stella:"Count me in!"
With that, Beth takes them and places Jordan and Ronnie Anne on her shoulders, Stella on her head and keeps Lincoln in the palm of her hand.
Ronnie Anne:" How did you guys even managed to make this place?"
Beth:"It was technically already here. We just hollowed it out, installed the fence and it's been like this ever since."
The kids were amazed by the powered kids' ingenuity. As they reached the bottom of the steps, the found a second of the cavern which housed a few belongings of Beth. Obviously human size, as the clothes that were there, three white, pink and orange shirts, two brown and black jackets, and red, blue and white underwear, where all things they wore before she became a giant. Only other things that were normal in size were a couple of old wooden dolls and a picture of her family; her dad with the same color of red hair as hers, albeit short and with a beard, and his attire being a brown jacket over a green shirt and blue jeans, her mother was a straight haired brunette with her hair reaching her back as she wore a dark pink shirt with a white horse and blue jeans, her little brother, his name was Ricky, was also with red, short, messy hair, a green shirt and sand yellow shorts, and an uncle of hers, who's name was Brian, had brown short hair, hidden under a trucker hat that's in a swamp green color, and he was wearing a red button shirt over a light blue shirt that a truck in the middle and grey cargo shorts.
What really caught the attention of the kids thought was the giant pickaxe, perfect for Beth's current size, that was at the opposite side of the cave.
Stella:"Where the heck did you get that?!"
Beth:"It's an interesting story. About half a month ago, me and the rest of the gang were hunting for food..."
Flashback to about half a month ago, where we find Beth and the crew hunting in the forest for anything big enough to feed them all, especially Beth. The forest had green grass, some birds chirping and butterflies flying over flowers...and then they quickly scarred away by a giant woman who was swinging from the trees while her friends stayed on the ground. Beth, despite being a giant now, was coming to grow attached to her new size and was making the most of it. Grabbing hold of the trunk of the tree, she jumps to one after the other, causing the trees to creak as she did so. The other watched as she went, and were a little bit concerned.
Melody:"Should we stop her? She's gonna break the trees."
NJ:"Good luck in trying to stop a giant."
And then, Beth lands right in front of them, hands on hips as she looks smug.
Beth:"You guys just don't understand how fun it is being giant."
But as she was about to continue, she felt a painful snag. Turns out that her ponytail was caught by a branch, forcing her to pull it free without harming herself. The others look at her, unamused.
Beth:"That was unfortunate timing."
Melody:"We tried to warn you."
Raine:"Let's just back to hunting for food."
Melody:"What are we looking for again?"
NJ:"Boar."
Beth:"I'll go out and look for some at an open field."
The way she ran, she was practically leaping as she each step went pretty far, separating from the rest of the group. Suddenly, she found a cave entrance, big enough for her to only crawl into like an igloo. Curiosity was getting the better of her as she gets down on her hands and knees and began to crawl through the entrance. It was a tight fit, and her hips nearly got stuck, but she managed to pull herself through. Continuing to crawl, her sides, arms, elbows and head kept bumping against the walls.
Beth:"Whatever's in here better be worth it."
After she climbs out the other end, Beth found herself in a large open space with just a small skylight, shining on a giant brown pickaxe being held in a giant skeleton hand. The hand was coming out of a pile of stone, indicating that the rest of the body is buried underneath. It would appear that she found herself within a tomb, and that pickaxe was starting to look like treasure to her.
Beth:"Wow. Now that's something you don't see everyday."
Walking towards it, she takes the pickaxe with both hands and slowly pulls it out of the skeleton's hands. Soon enough, she was holding it with both hands, examining it, testing its weight before getting a good feeling out of the weapon.
Beth:"This could definitely come in handy."
Heading by the nearest wall, she takes the pickaxe and smashes through it.
Beth:"Now this something I could get used to."
Back to the powered kids, they had managed to catch a boar, having it hogtied with it's legs tied up together...only for them to get caught off guard, jumping in surprise as the blade of the giant pickaxe hits the ground. Then Beth comes by and pulls the pickaxe out of the ground and shows it off.
Beth:"What do you guys think?"
Melody:"(shocked) Where the heck did you get that?!"
Beth:"Pried it off a skeleton hand."
Raine:"What do you mean by that? Where exactly did you find it?"
Beth:"Found this cave with the pickaxe and hand sticking out of this mound of dirt."
And then, the rest of the kids realized what Beth just did.
NJ:"Beth...that was a grave. You just desecrated it by taking that pickaxe!"
Beth:"Oh, come on. There was nothing even in there to respect."
Raine:"Beth, the pickaxe was left there as a grave marker. That's the thing of respect."
Beth:"(looks at the pickaxe) ...Well, crud."
Melody:"Well, I guess the harm is done so you might as well keep it."
Beth was left a little conflicted, but at least she got a new weapon.
Beth:"And, I've just kept this baby ever since."
Ronnie Anne:"That's...pretty awesome."
Stella:"But don't you feel bad about desecrating the resting place of a giant?"
Beth:"I didn't know. It seemed like a good idea at the time."
Jordan:"Don't you think anything from that cave will come back to haunt you?"
Beth:"Well, its been half a month since I got, so...no."
Lincoln:"You never know what might happen, Beth."
Beth:"Hey, I'm keeping the axe. It's done a good job in protecting me."
They decided to accept it, since there was no point in arguing. Next thing they decide to look at were the wooden dolls she had on display.
Lincoln:"Where did you get those dolls?"
Beth:"Me and the others made them a long time ago. Long before we even got our powers."
Flashback to when she and the others were finishing up, carving the dolls and putting some clothes. One had a red and white striped shirt, one had a white dress with minty green outlining, one had a pale yellow tunic, one wore brown, handmade leather, and the last one was dressed in white and grey rabbit fur. Each of them admired their handiwork on the dolls. Beth, especially...
Beth:"Let these dolls be something we can all remember ourselves by."
NJ:"You really think they're that special?"
Beth:"Yeah...I always wanted something like this dolls."
After the finished, each of them put their doll in a cabinet they made for them, and while they leave, Beth stares at the dolls for a minute...shedding a tear.
Beth:"I had the dolls made in memory of my family."
Jordan:"Do they really help you?"
Beth:"Yeah...See, when my family and I were on vacation, the trip back...didn't work out as well as we hoped...The plance crashed on an island in the middle of the Atlantic...later, I take me several days to find all their bodies and bury them...Another week to finally get rescued. I was the only one to have survived."
The kids felt sorry for her, with Lincoln, Jordan and Stella shedding tears for her.
Lincoln:"...We're really sorry, Beth."
Beth:"It's okay. I've only felt bad at least I met my friends. They made me feel like I had a new family."
After hearing that, the others began to feel happy for her.
Stella:"You're really happy with your new life after they accept you?"
Beth:"I could've be happier, knowing my old family would've wanted me to move on...too bad I'm too big to play with the dolls anymore."
Jordan:"Have you ever tried?"
Beth:"...Constantly."
Lincoln:"Hmm...How about we go and see what the others are doing?"
Beth:"I think I can hear them. Sounds like they're at the beach."
Jordan:"Good thing we're already on the shortcut for that."
Taking the pickaxe, Beth leads the kids over to where she heads to the beach. Heading over there, they could see that the rest of the gang was collecting seashells and other possibly valuable items that have washed up ashore. Other items, possibly good enough to make weapons as a few of the kids were collecting sticks to make handles. When Beth and the kids had come up, the powered kids were a little shocked to see her with her weapon.
Raine:"Beth, why the heck did you bring that thing?"
Beth:"What? You guys looked like you were digging. The pickaxe is the perfect job for that. Figured I use it today."
Raine:"...Whatever. Just be careful with it."
Beth:"Always."
Paige:"Hey guys! I found something."
They all turn to see Paige picking a generic paper in a bottle. Instead of popping open a cork like most people would do...she breaks the bottle over a rock to get to the paper easier. But the paper was no treasure, nor was it a message, it was a photograph, and the moment Paige saw what it was, her eyes went eyed and it made her want to hurl. It was a photo of a creature, with black slime-like skin, and had a set of sharp-teethed jaws for it's entire face. Not to mention that it had six legs, 2 to walk on, 4 to attack. The others gathered around it and almost had the same reaction.
Ronnie Anne:"What the heck is that thing?"
Beth:"...I've seen that thing before."
The others look towards her in surprise.
Lincoln:"You have?!"
Raine:"You never told us this! When?!"
Beth:"Remember when I crashed landed on that island and lost my family? Well...it wasn't the crash that killed him."
Flashback to when Beth was stranded on the Peninsula, exploring the vast forest that took up most of the island. She seemed all alone, for there was no sight of her family or other survivors. But she could swear that she was being watched. Soon, she found a downward cavern entrance with leading into it. Curiosity got the better of her as she headed down the cavern, discovering an underground tunnel. It was slightly tight, only about 10 feet tall and barely having enough space for her to maneuver properly. Not to mention that it got darker and darker the deeper she went. She had to go through side-step passages twice before reaching a wide open space, albeit completely shrouded in darkness.
Beth:"Please there be someone in here."
Fortunately, she brought some matches...unfortunately, She was not alone in the cavern. The moment a light shined the entire place, was the moment she came face to face with the monster. After screaming, she dropped the match and as everything when dark, a lot of smacking, hitting, slapping sound can be heard. Both Beth and the mutant were trying to kill each other. Then Beth feels something, which happens to be an old axe with a rusty blade and old wooden handle.
Beth:"I'm getting the hell out of here!"
With it, she was able to do more damage to the mutant, whacking it hard enough for her to get it off of her then getting back on her feet. The mutant was still alive, however, and wouldn't let Beth leave so easily as she squeeze through the side-step passageways yet again.
Beth:"I wish these passages weren't so tight. That'd make escaping faster."
while it simply smashes right through them. Pretty soon, Beth managed to get back to the surface while the monster is not too far behind. And then, the battle takes place back on the surface.
Beth:"Alright...bring it on, you pasty-faced patsy!"
Seeing the monster out in the open, it was at least twice her size and menacing, but that didn't stop her from attack. Advancing upon the beast, Beth climbs on top and chops off one of its legs, but not before it grabs her and throws her off. Recovering as quickly as she could, Beth saw the monster slowly coming towards her, she decides to put an ends to this as she takes out another match, lights it and sets fire to her own axe. Sending into the flesh of the mutant, the fire spreads and causes the beast to burst into flames. Beth watches as the mutant burns before it goes limp.
Beth:"After killing the monster, I found the bodies of my family inside the cave. That freak dragged them in there and fed off of them."
They were all now scarred and saddened by Beth's story.
Christina:"That's the scariest story I've ever heard."
Beth:"At least I handled my own."
Lincoln:"Don't you think the creature will ever come back."
Beth:"Not unless it can swim across an ocean."
Stella:"This is probably gonna give me nightmares."
Raine:"(stares out into the sunset) Speaking of which, we should turn into for the day. It will be night soon."
Ronnie Anne:"But its pretty early."
Mollie:"Might as well get ready for shuteye now."
Later on, back at the cabin, everyone was trying to figure out who was gonna sleep where. Mollie was allowed to sleep with Melody, Raine and NJ, who all shared one room and the two boys having bunk beds. Before they went to sleep however, they decided to pass the times by playing a game of cards. When they were just finishing up, Mollie had been Melody for the third time in a row.
Mollie:"Ha, ha. Won again! In your face!"
But then, she was met with a slap to her face and getting knocked off the bed as Melody was one for being a sore loser. NJ then checks on Mollie and sees that she's unconscious. He scolds Melody for what she had done.
NJ:"Next time, try to go easy on our guests."
Then, Mollie regains consciousness and feels the red slap-mark on her left cheek. Feeling the soreness coming from it, she glares at Melody.
Mollie:"That is not how we play cards!"
Melody:"Maybe not. But that IS how you play cards with a showboater."
Raine:"Alright! Everyone, go to sleep now before you start ripping each other's heads off."
Reluctantly agreeing, Melody scoots over to allow some space for Mollie, who is now having second thoughts about sharing a bed. But just as she was about to get comfortable, Melody's hair gets in her face, and even in her mouth. Spitting it out some strands, Mollie glares at her bed-mate.
Mollie:"Mind moving your hair?"
But Melody was already out like a light, leaving Mollie to push her hair away so that she could get comfortable...But then, just as she was about to sleep, Melody begins to snore, leaving Mollie wide awake as she groans angrily, knowing she wasn't gonna sleep tonight.
In the living room, Christina and Paige were getting ready for bed themselves as they were preparing a pair of sleeping bags the powered kids had.
Paige:"This week has gone off to a crazy start, don't you think?"
Christina:"It's only been three days, but yeah, it's been kinda nuts."
Piage:"How do you think tomorrow will go?"
Christina:"We'll just have to wait and see."
And then, they fall to sleep. In Beth's cavern, Lincoln, Stella, Ronnie Anne and Jordan were getting to sleep themselves when they were surprised to see Beth actually changed into Pajamas her size, a two-piece set, handmade out of a grey cotton, of all things.
Jordan:"Beth, how in the world do you have pajamas your size."
Beth:"The others made this for me. It took an entire day to make."
Lincoln:"How do the others feel about this?"
Beth:"They were just happy to get me something to wear for the night."
Stella:"Did they make more for you?"
Beth:"I tried asking them, but they refused."
Ronnie Anne:"Oh, did they? I might need to have a chat with them tomorrow morning."
Beth:"Hey, relax. They don't expect me to be a giant forever. Plus, it was exhausting just to make this one."
Lincoln:"Let's just go to bed."
And with that, they all fell asleep. A few minutes later, however, Beth suddenly grabbed Lincoln in her sleep and drew him closer to her chest. Lincoln was surprised at first, but feeling that it was comfortable, he decided to go with as he fell asleep.
