Tali had already gotten dressed and was making her way down to CIC to head outside and say hello to everyone. John was still up in their room getting ready so since she was already dressed she figured she'd go ahead and go see the crew. Tali began thinking of everything that had happened during their stay here so far, from John proposing to her, to the cure for her immune system, and just finally being able to truly relax with the man she loves for the first time in what feels like forever.
Tali was extremely grateful that she had met John those years ago, she can still remember being so worried about who he was and why he would be so willing to help her, a quarian. But, looking back at those memories now, she can only laugh because now that she knows John she understands that he is just a helpful man and is willing to help anyone in need no matter their race. It's one of the reasons that she loves him so much as he was one of the only people willing to do so much for her people, especially in their time of need.
She made it outside the Normandy and noticed that almost all of the crew were already up and getting breakfast ready. She immediately saw Garrus standing and talking to some of the crew with a drink in his hand. "Garrus, drinking already?" she teased him as she walked up to him. The Turian turned and saw his quarian friend and gave her a smile, if you can call it that, "It's never a bad time to have some brandy,". Tali simply shook her head as she smiled back at him still getting used to not having her suit, mainly her helmet to cover her face.
"So where's the other half of you?" Garrus asked her looking around trying to spot if Shepard was anywhere nearby. "He was still getting dressed when I came down," Tali adjusted her shirt some as she could feel it slipping down and thought she might start showing off too much soon. "Well, hopefully, he hurries up otherwise the food is gonna be gone when he finally comes down," Tali nodded her head as she looked past Garrus finally noticing the food that was currently being made in the makeshift kitchen. She wasn't exactly sure what it was that they were making but she knew it smelled good.
When John finally came outside the food was already prepared and Tali was making herself a plate. John joined the line of the crew doing the same and when he had finally had his turn to get his own plate he found where Tali was sitting on a makeshift bench made from the trees around them. "Is the food good?" he asked as he sat down next to her, Tali felt a warmth in her chest when he sat next to her, she knows that they were already engaged and going to be getting married in the coming months but it always warmed her heart when he decided to sit next to her.
"Yes it's very good, I think that's only because Garrrus didn't help this time," she said not really trying to be quiet as Garrus was not far from them. "I heard that and I'll have you know I thought my cooking was amazing," John and Tali both softly laughed, "Well I'm glad at least someone liked it," John said smiling at his Turian best friend. Garrus just shook his head and kept eating his breakfast so Tali and John decided to do the same.
After breakfast everyone broke up, some people started getting their stuff together and started carrying it back to the ship. John told everyone just after breakfast that they were planning to leave in about three days so just so everyone had time to get their things together and spend their last days doing whatever they haven't done yet. He and Tali helped for a while carrying things to the ship and just helping everyone get their belongings together, but after a while they were tired and Tali suggested relaxing in the water for a while.
Tali just took her shirt off and went into the water with her sports bra and athletic shorts still on and John followed after her taking his shirt off as well and leaving his shorts on. The pair just relaxed and enjoyed each other's company for a few hours both of them being too tired to try and do anything it was one of their last days here and they had done just about everything they could think of to do except for sit and relax in the water together, not talking just being together.
After they were in the water for about two or three hours John was rested enough that he was ready to get out and do something again, Tali however just followed him to the beach and then laid on the sand with her feet and legs still in the water as it lightly washed over her feet and up her legs. John smiled as he saw her lay there and relax, 'I'm glad she's doing something for herself,' he then went off and helped Garrus and the other crew starts taking down some of the buildings they had made out of wood.
While Tali was laying on the sand it gave her some more time to think about her future with John and what she wanted to do with the rest of her life. As she was thinking suddenly the thought of kids somehow crossed her mind, 'But I can't give John any kids, we're not compatible,' it saddened her a little bit to think of this but then she realized that he must already know this and so she was not worried too much about it. She decided that she would discuss it with him and how they would want to go about doing the kids part of their family, whether they would just adopt kids or take some of John's DNA to one of the quarian scientists and see if they could somehow make it compatible with her, but she let the topic slip her mind before she worried herself about it too much more.
When she finally got up from laying down she felt so relaxed and had a smile on her face that she didn't think she could get rid of if she tried. She found John helping Garrus carry a Fridge back to the ship as the pair made it seem quite effortless, and when John noticed her looking at him he of course decided to show off for her and decided to start carrying his end one-handed which almost caused him to drop the thing entirely but he caught himself before it could fall out of his hands. Tali giggled when she saw him almost drop it but she secretly loved getting to see him show off his strength.
She went over and decided she would help carry some things inside as well, not quite a fridge but things that were more of her ability. After a couple more hours of carrying things back to the ship, the crew called it a night and decided they had carried enough inside for today. Everyone was either getting a shower or getting some dinner before they went to their beds to get some much-needed rest. Tali and John said their goodnights to everyone including Garrus before they retreated to their room.
Tali got her shower first as John answered more of his emails and continued working on some of the paperwork that he still had to finish. It didn't take too long and Tali came out of the bathroom in her oversized t-shirt, "Shower's open hun," she said as she leaned down and kissed his cheek before she let him work and walked to the bed to check her own emails and make sure the fleet hadn't messaged her about anything important.
Not long after she had gotten out of the shower John went in after grabbing his clothes and taking a towel with him. Tali hadn't gotten many important messages, a few from some of her friends back on the fleet that she responded to but most everything else was spam messages from most of the stores they had bought things from on the citadel. There was an email sent by the other admirals of the fleet informing her of the condition of the fleet and how they were getting set up on Rannoch with the Geth's help and they happily awaited her return to show her their progress.
She smiled when she read that as it was still somewhat new to hear about Rannoch and the entire quarian race having their homeworld back, her homeworld. Even though she wasn't born there and never lived there it just felt like home to her and she was so excited to be able to build a home there and live with John on her home planet. She would have to wait a little longer to have that dream come true though as the man in question came out of the bathroom at that moment in his usual shorts with no shirt.
He still had some light steam in his hair she could see that it was shiny in some spots where it wasn't fully dry, "Ready for bed hun?" he asked her as he walked to his side of the bed and set his omnitool on the bedside table before laying down and looking at his fiance. Tali nodded and put her datapad on her side table before she joined him in laying down facing him, "So who were we messaging tonight?" he asked as he gently pulled her close and gave her a soft kiss. "The usual friends and family, although the admirals messaged me and said that everything is going smoothly and they can't wait for our return," she said smiling at him as he listened to her closely.
He returned her smile, "Great, I'm glad everything is going well, I can't wait to be able to go through on my promise and build you a house there though," he said as he kissed her forehead and hugged her tightly but gently. "You better, otherwise I might just have to tell my aunt," she said playfully to which John laughed, "Oh don't do that I won't be allowed on the planet for a month,". Tali laughed at that and nodded in agreement as she thought of John having to sit in orbit trying to talk with her while her aunt did her damnest to stop them.
After they had both calmed down from that Tali snuggled into John putting her head against his chest and holding him to her as he was holding her to him. It didn't take long before the pair were both dead asleep in each others arms holding one another close, both hoping they never have to let go of one another.
