moon rising
A/N: Can't believe we're almost to the end. As I can't see myself adding more than two chapters. But my predictions have been wrong before. Buutt... I do have an idea for a sequel (whether or not that idea will pan out remains to be seen). So this may not be the end end. Does that make sense? No? Anyway, hope you guys enjoy the chapter.
Disclaimer: I do not own Power Rangers.
Chapter Fifty-Two
It isn't long before questions start to be asked. Ms. Hall does her best to keep the uninformed students calm, but it doesn't work very well. And it took days for Ms. Hall to come up with a possible way to find the other teachers. The librarian calls the group to the library, and she locks the door behind them. Her hair is disheveled, and it looked like she hadn't been getting much sleep. If any at all. "There's a witch who might be able to help. But she's a little… hard to reach."
Ms. Hall produces a map from her jacket. "Here's a map of where you should be able to find her. Be safe. And get dressed for warm weather."
Kira takes the map. "Thank you. But are you okay?"
"I'll be okay when we find them. Now get going. I doubt McKayla and her new partner will give me much time to waste."
The group leaves the library, and go back to their rooms. After getting a few things to prepare, the five set off. Ms. Hall is waiting for them outside, and she teleports them to a dry desert. They land roughly on the ground, and stand from the ground. Kira says, "is everyone okay?"
"The landing could've been worse." Krista says.
Kira pulls the map out of her backpack. "According to the map, we have to go south."
And with that, they head south.
Lorelei wakes up. She groans, sitting up in bed. She showers and gets dressed for the day. Her phone dings, and she pulls it off. It's a school message, announcing that there was an assembly in the quad in five minutes. Which is the amount of time it would take for her to get from her room to the quad. She sighs, and leaves her room. She walks down to the quad, finding that most of the other students have between her there. The students there are gathered in a circle with a big hole in the middle. Lorelei cranes her neck, waiting impatiently for Ms. Hall to show herself. A group of fairies come to stand next to her.
They seem to be the last students as there's an explosion of purple dust in the middle of the circle. But Ms. Hall doesn't appear when the dust settles, instead McKayla and two men appear. One around McKayla's age with multicolored hair, and another younger man with dark brown hair. The younger man is the first one to speak, "we are taking over your school. Until you give us what we're looking for. But until then, you are all under our command."
Some students are confused, others try to fight and charge at the three. But the younger man sends their challengers flying. The remaining students run off in directions. The younger man can be heard shouting to his friends, "get them!"
Lorelei runs into one of the secret rooms. It would take a long time for the three to wrangle all of the students. And hopefully it would be enough time for Lorelei to come up with a game plan. There's rustling from another area of the room. And the same boy that she just couldn't seem to get away from, shows himself. She groans, still mindful that the three terrorizing their school could be right outside. "Just my luck, I get trapped in a room for who knows how long with a jinx."
"Would you rather be in here alone?"
"Yes. Yes I would." And judging by the look on his face, that was the answer he was expecting. "So what are we going to do?"
She walks over to the back wall, going to press her hand against it. But her hand goes through the wall instead. She feels something hard, and she grabs it. She pulls it out, and a sword is in her hand. She says, "well, that's… convenient."
She walks through the wall, into a room filled with weapons. The boy says from behind her, "what is this place?"
"I don't know. But we could use these." She walks around the room, touching the weapons. Careful not to touch anything with wood.
"We?"
"Even if I don't like you, jinx, we're going to have to work together to defeat these people. Even if other kids have hid out in the other secret rooms, we have no way of reaching them. Now grab those vampire weapons."
"Alright. And stop calling me jinx."
"Well, I don't care to know your name."
"It's Hunter." He says anyway.
"Just grab those weapons, jinx."
The group eventually comes across a house in the middle of the desert. Kira doesn't know how long they've been walking for, just that they had finally reached their desired destination. She says, "this is it. We should be careful. I doubt it's going to be this easy."
Just as she says that, snakes suddenly appear at their feet. Ethan speaks up, "you just had to say it wasn't going to be easy!"
They back away, and the snakes slither closer. Trent produces the medallion, and the snakes hiss. Then they turn to dust. But before they can acknowledge the far too easy victory, the ground disappears beneath their feet. They scream as they fall, until they hit a hard floor. They groan at the impact, slowly sitting up. Kira coughs, "what was that?"
She looks around the room, which has black tile floors and white walls. There's a balcony above their heads, with someone in a cloak standing behind the railing. The cloaked person says, "what are you doing here, children?"
It's the voice of a woman, and their voice is softer than Kira expected. Kira answers, "we were sent here by Hawkins Academy for the Supernaturally Gifted. Hayley Hall said there was a witch who might be able to help us find our missing teachers who were taken by McKayla Ford."
The woman pauses, before saying, "McKayla Ford is dead."
"Not anymore. Someone brought her back to life." Kira says.
The woman pauses again, before holding her arm. She points to the side, and the kids slide across the floor heading straight for the wall. But the wall lifts up at the last minute, and they stop in a hallway. Green arrows light up on the wall, leading them into another room. There's a table in the middle of the room, with just enough chairs to seat all of them. One of the walls lifts up, and a woman enters the room. But her cloak is gone, revealing her to be a black haired Asian woman. "Everyone take a seat."
Another chair appears at the head of the table, which she takes a seat in. When the kids don't take a seat, the woman waves her index and middle fingers, and the kids are pulled into their seats. Trent says, "I'm guessing you're the witch that Ms. Hall sent us to find."
"Yes I am. You can call me Trini."
"So are you going to help us?" Kira says.
"I would like to. But I don't think you need it."
"But we don't know what to do! And Ms. Hall's great, but she's killing herself to find the other teachers." Kira tries to argue.
"That may be so, but I can sense your power. The vessel, the medallion, the Artemis amulet, and Charles' locket's powers are all here. If you combine your power, you can defeat your mother and you can save your teachers." Trini says, before standing up from the table. "Now let's get you back to school."
She points at them, and they land outside of the school. Once the dust settles, they run towards the school.
