3 days.

It has been 3 days since Takashi's group reached the Takagi Estate and settled there in order to rest up. And during that whole time... there had been no work from Souichiro's search for Vincent Thorne.

Jack's short time ally before he became infected.

Saeko during this time never once left Jack's side while he remained bedridden with the infection flowing through his veins. Jack lay in pain every single day and night, however, the pain would only ease as long as Saeko was near him.

Kohta, Takashi, Saya, Alice, with Jack's jacket in her hands, Miss Shizuka and Yuriko all stood outside of the room feeling helpless to help the young man while Yuriko's husband, Souichiro Takagi, continued his search for Vincent.

Saeko, who was currently lying down beside Jack leaned near his ear and whispered to him. "Jack, I'm going to speak with the others. I won't be gone long. I promise." She said to him as he painfully nodded his head.

She places a kiss on his forehead before mustering up the strength to leave him and step outside the room to speak to her group.

She gently closes Jacks bedroom door and looks to Yuriko with tears building up in her eyes. "Yuriko-san, I don't know how much longer I can keep this up. I want to stay strong for him, but if anything happens to him, I don't know what I'll do. Has there been ANY word from Souichiro-san? Any word at all?" She asks the lady of the estate with a trembling voice.

The teenage group looks to the woman, whose lips were trembling, before she placed a hand on Saeko's shoulder with a shake of her head. "No, Saeko. There's been no word yet. If there were, I would gladly let you know. But..." She explained before trailing off as she didn't have the strength to finish her sentence.

Saeko nodded before turning back towards the door to walk back into Jacks room before Miss Shizuka stopped her. "Saeko-san, please. You haven't eaten much since you got here. You must eat something to keep your strength up." The woman says to her with concern.

Saeko pauses before turning her head slightly. "You're right, but I won't leave him. Not now, not ever. Make me something and bring it up to the room. I'll eat then, but I'm not leaving him. I won't leave him to suffer." She replied softly before opening the door and entered into the room.

As she closed the door Yuriko let out a trembling sigh and went downstairs with Saya to have the cooks in the kitchen make something for Saeko.

Miss Shizuka, Takashi, Kohta and Alice stood in silence before they all left except Alice.

She reached up with a trembling hand to turn the doorknob and slowly opened the door.

"U-Um... Saeko-san?" She asked timidly.

Saeko, who had returned to her spot near Jack on the bed, looked up at Alice. "Alice-chan? What are you doing in here?" She asked the little girl, who slowly made her way to the bed.

"I... I just wanted to return... Oniichan's jacket to him. He told me... that it brings good luck to whoever wears it. And... since he needs good luck right now, I thought that..." She explained her reason to Saeko, who smiled with trembling lips, before pausing.

"Do-Do you want me to go, Saeko-san?" The little girl asked her thinking that she had picked a bad time, but Saeko shook her head as tears gently flowed down her cheeks.

"No, Alice-chan. That's very sweet of you. Let me see the jacket." She said to her as Alice walked over to the bed and handed the jacket to her.

Saeko placed the jacket over Jack's waist and leaned down to whisper in his ear. "Jack... baby?" She whispered.

Jack struggled to open his right eye and looked at Saeko, but didn't speak a word.

Saeko smiled brightly at him as her tears fell before finally deciding to speak to him. "Baby, someone brought something back to you. I think you know her well." She explains to him making him look at her with a strained confused face before straining to look at who she was talking about.

Saeko looked at Alice and motioned her to the other side of the bed.

Jack, catching a glimpse of the bright pink hair, looked shocked for a moment before cringing in pain.

Alice, on the other side of the bed, peeked her head up to look at Jack. "O-Oniichan?" She asked, but got no response. Jack just continued to look at her with a single tear falling down his cheek.

Alice looked to Saeko for an explanation, but Saeko just shook her head. "Alice-chan, he can't speak right now. It's taking all his energy and strength to even keep himself from turning. The medicine is helping, but it won't be able to cure him. It's like... putting a band-aid on a cut from a knife." She began to explain before looking at him as she held his hand tightly.

"Alice-chan... he's doing everything he can to keep himself from turning, but where he can't get much sleep, he's losing the fight. And so is his immune system, even with the medicine and antibiotics. He's... he's fighting a losing battle, Alice-chan." She finished explaining to the little girl with a trembling tone as she leaned down and kissed Jack's forehead.

Jack, with whatever strength he had, moved his left hand towards Alice and offered his hand to her.

Alice hopped up on the bed and took his hand in hers as she looks at him with tear filled eyes. "Onichan, I'm right here. I brought your jacket back to you. It kept me safe and brought me luck, just like you said. But you... you need it right now more than me. So, please, Oniichan, keep fighting. I lost mommy and daddy, but I don't want to lose you. So please, don't leave me too, Oniichan..." Alice pleaded as she placed her forehead against Jack's hand.

Jack squeezes both girls hands as tightly as he can before he closed his eye again to keep fighting against the virus that now plagued him and his body.

Saeko looked surprised at Alice for a moment before he lips trembled into a small smile before she lied down next to Jack again.

Outside the door, Yuriko stood with her lips trembling as she held Saeko's food plate having heard all of what was just said in the room. She nearly dropped it since she wanted to cover her face with her hands and cry silently against the door.

She had never felt so helpless before in her life. Not even when other people were in danger.

But here she was helpless to help her surrogate son while there was no word from her husband who was currently out looking for the one individual, the ONE individual who could help save him.

"Damn it, Souichiro, you know I have all the faith of the world in you, but where the hell are you? Jack is dying and we're running out of time!" She thinks angrily before taking a deep breath and quickly cleans herself up to make herself look more presentable.

She wasn't a prideful woman, but she had to make herself look strong for Saeko, Alice and Jack's sake.

She reaches for the doorknob and freezes before shaking her head with a trembling smile. "If only Jack and Natalie could see me now." She thinks to herself before grabbing the doorknob and enters Jack's room to give Saeko her food.

Meanwhile, with Souichiro in the city...

In the city, Souichiro looked through a pair of binoculars and scoped the city to spot the person Jack asked him to look for.

Vincent Thorne.

3 days and he had not seen one single sign of the individual that was supposed to be able to help the young man he viewed as the son he never had.

He lowered the binoculars and handed them to one of the guards. "Damn it, Vincent Thorne, where the hell are you? I'm running out of time and my wife is no doubt livid over having no word from me. I hate to say this, but maybe this Vincent is either dead or long gone." He thought as he thought back to when he first arrived at the now ruined JPD.

"Jack informed me to start at the JPD, so that's where we started. When we got there, there was clear evidence of a fight, but no bodies. Except of course a body of one ugly looking creature. We scoured the area for this Vincent Thorne, but found nothing. We decided to look in other parts of the city to find him, and still... nothing." He continued to think as he took a deep breath and let it out before continuing to back track through the events of the past few days.

"Oddly enough, during these past few days we have not run into a single undead corpse. Either they've all moved on to another part of the city, or something is taking them out. Or someone." He thought for a moment with his arms crossed.

After a moment, Souichiro just shook his head. "It doesn't matter at the moment. We have to keep looking. I can't let Jack-san die. Not if I have an opportunity to help him." He thought before turning his head towards one of his men. "You, round up the men. We're moving out." He ordered as the man nodded and left to gather the men.

Souichiro looked towards the sun as it was setting in the distance. "I'll bring this Vincent Thorne back and save our son, my love. I promise." He thought as the men were rounded up and got inside their vehicles.

"Alright men! We're moving out! We're going to find a safe spot for the night, once we do, fan out and keep a close eye out for the undead and also for our target! Vincent Thorne! If you see anything out of the ordinary or see a resemblance that matches our targets description, you IMMEDIATELY report to me! Understand?" He ordered.

"Yes, sir!" The men shouted as they packed up the equipment and headed in another direction to search and rest up for the night.

1 hour later...

Finding a secluded area with no undead or any living thing around, Souichiro and the men settled in the first floor of a building that had been quickly abandoned during the outbreak. Most of the men sat down and let out deep sighs of exhaustion.

One of the younger men, who hadn't been with the Takagi Guard for very long, cautiously walked up with his head down behind Souichiro as he stood near the entrance of the building. "Sir... may I... may I speak freely?" The young man asked.

"Speak." Souichiro responded.

The young man cleared his throat before speaking. "Sir... what if... what if there is the slightest chance that this... Vincent Thorne is still alive? What chance does Valentine-san have at surviving? I mean, we've seen what this infection does to people. What chance does Valentine-san have to fight off the infection long enough for us to find our target?" He spoke as most of the men just looked at the younger man with concern, while the others were just waiting.

"I mean no disrespect, Lord Takagi, I'm just trying to understand." The man continued before pausing to look up at the man. "Why take the risk of saving a young man who may not survive long enough for us to return in time?" He asked Souichiro.

The men remained silent with baited breath as they waited to hear Souichiro's answer. Many of the men wanted to help the young Valentine since the young man treated them all with respect while others did not. The other men wanted to help as well, but didn't understand Souichiro taking the risk of leaving his home and his wife while Jack remained there infected and could turn at any time.

They wanted to understand themselves and waited for Souichiro's answer.

Souichiro let out a deep sigh before answering.

"Son, if you manage to live long enough through this Hell, meet a beautiful woman and have children with her, maybe then you'll understand my reasoning. I understand the risk of Jack-san turning into one of those... damned monsters while I'm away, but my wife also understands the risk. So I trust that she will make the right decision and do what is necessary to protect the people in the mansion as well as those kids and our daughter." He explained as the young man and the other men just listened.

"But... if you knew Jack-san, his mother, his aunt and the rest of his extended family, you would why there is something special when it comes to that young man and his family. They're survivors. Warriors. Warriors of which I respect greatly because they treat me and my family with the same respect I give them. They've earned it. After the incident in Raccoon City, Jack-san and his mother came here to start over with their lives." He continued as the men remained silent.

"It was difficult for them. They left behind everything and everyone they knew back in the states to stay safe from the Umbrella Corporation. Natalie-san and Jack-san both had it rough when they first got here. A new country, new people, a new job and new friends. It was difficult for them, but they adapted, they chose to survive and they thrived. Back when I met Natalie-san and Jack-san for the first time, Natalie-san just greeted my wife and I with a great bright smile that could've lit up the room, but when I looked down at little Jack-san, he looked at me with such uncertainty, defiance and ferocity that I just knew. I knew that no matter where life would take this boy, he would never falter. If Life and Death themselves got in his way, he would stand his ground and tell them both to move. He would rather fight and make his own destiny rather than wait for someone to make it for him. And even as he lies in a bed at my home in pain at this very moment, he will not stop fighting. He will not allow himself to turn and bring harm to those he loves. He will die first before that happens." Souichiro continued before pausing to turn his head and look at the younger man with a soft expression.

"That's why, until he loses his will to fight on, me, my wife, my daughter, and the rest of my family will continue to believe in him and the rest of the Valentine family. They're warriors. None of them will give up so easily." He finished his reasoning as the young man and the rest of the men nodded they're heads and went back to what they were doing as Souichiro looked back outside the building with his glare to continue to keep watch.

CRASH!!!

Souichiro grasped his sword hilt as the men ran up behind him with their weapons ready to protect themselves and their Lord.

They prepared themselves to face whatever made that sound, whether it be the undead or one of the giant fleshy monsters that lie dead back at the ruined JPD building.

But the thing, or person, that came walking out of the alleyway across the street was the one person that weren't expecting to find, no matter how much hope they had.

That person, was Vincent Thorne.

Narrowing his eyes, Souichiro examined the individual as closely as possible to match Jack's description of the person he said to look for. And this individual matched every description except one.

The eyes.

Souichiro couldn't see the persons eyes properly until they turned to see a bunch of armed men with their weapons drawn and pointed right at him.

Souichiro could then see the persons eyes as clear as the night sky and he could see much pain and rage behind the cold steel gray eyes. They also held a certain calmness within them, but Souichiro remained on guard.

"Souichiro Takagi." Vincent called out.

"Vincent Thorne." Souichiro replied back as he eases his grip on his sword and signaled for his men to stand down, but remain guarded.

Souichiro and Vincent walked towards each other before stopping in the middle of the street.

"You know my name?" Vincent asked him. Souichiro nodded his head. "Alright, you know my name, but what brings you all the way out here? Shouldn't you be back at the Takagi mansion?" Vincent continued to question the man as they just stared each other down.

The men were on edge. They knew their Lord Takagi could handle himself better they all could, but their instincts were telling them that something was off with this young man standing before Souichiro.

"I'm here looking for you, Thorne-san." Souichiro answer bluntly. The answer confused Vincent as he turned his head to the side, but he didn't take his eyes off Souichiro.

"Oh? Why me specifically?" He asked the tall brood man, but despite his fearless demeanor, the sadness and desperation was evident behind the older Takagi's eyes and Vincent could see it.

"What has happened during all this that has made this man, this fearless man, so desperate enough to come looking for me. And why me specifically?" Vincent wondered before Souichiro finally spoke.

"You and I... we have a mutual friend. One that I consider the closest thing to a son that I will ever get in my life." Souichiro answered with a trembling tone, but he hid it well. Vincent continued to look confused. "A mutual friend, you said, Takagi-san?" He asked.

Souichiro just nodded.

"Alright. Enlighten me. What is this persons name that we're both friends with?" He continued.

"Jack." Souichiro simply said before pausing as Vincent's eyes widened.

"Jack Valentine." Souichiro finished as Vincent just stared at him.

"Souichiro-san... what's happened to him? What happened to Jack?" Vincent asked causing Souichiro to take a deep breath and steel himself before answering.

"He's been infected. I don't know how, but he's been infected. That's why I'm out here looking for you. He sent me to find you." Souichiro's answer, once again, confused Vincent.

"What? Me? How can I help?" He asked.

Souichiro clenched his fists. "I hope I didn't find you for nothing, boy." He thought to himself before inhaling deeply to calm himself. "I don't know, but he sent me here to find you. Now that I've found you, I must ask you. Will you help him? You're his only hope, Thorne-san." Souichiro stated.

Vincent just looked down at the ground wondering how he could help. They didn't know each for very long. Could they even consider themselves friends? And why did Jack send Souichiro out to look for him?

Vincent inhaled deeply before looking back up at Souichiro Takagi. It didn't matter. Jack was dying and Vincent would do what he could to help.

He knew a way, but Souichiro, his family and no doubt Jack's friends and family themselves wouldn't like it either.

It may be the only way to save Jack.

Vincent nodded. "I'll help, but you might not like or even agree with how I must do it." He stated.

Souichiro just looked at him with cold narrowed eyes.

Meanwhile, back at Fujimi High School...

A man with protective gear and high-tech weapons stood in the middle of the parking lot of Fujimi High School examining the body of a, once again, dead corpse of a student that had been turned before whoever killed them gave them mercy.

The man stood up and looked around him to examine the carnage around him.

Teenagers.

Dead teenagers that should never have had to witness a nightmare like this.

The man closed his eyes and lowered his head before shaking it in sadness. "Not again." He whispered quietly. "Why does this keep happening?" He continued lowly.

"We've done everything, EVERYTHING, possible to keep this from happening again. But Umbrella, oh, Umbrella. You just HAVE to keep rearing your head back before you strike again, don't you?" The man whispered as his voice slowly began to rise.

"Well... even if I have to keep fighting you until the day I die, I... no... WE will put a stop to you. I don't know how we'll do it. I don't know how long it will take. But I swear to you, Umbrella, we WILL fucking stop you!" The man shouts at the night sky.

BeepBeepBeep!

The man looks down at his waist before he pulls out a small communication device and swipes up on it to reveal the face of a beautiful young woman.

"Hannigan, perfect timing."
