Beyond the stone door had been a very long hallway that gradually rose from the deep Ruins. It had been a quiet and somber trek towards whatever lay beyond. Near the end however, a familiar face had been patiently waiting.

"Clever." Flowey jeered, a cold cynical grin on his face. "Verrrryyy clever."

Fearia gave a slight start from the sudden appearance of the mean talking flower. A frown fell into place a moment later. "What do you want?" She demanded grumpily.

"You think you're really smart, don't you?" The yellow flower smirked. "In this world, it's kill or be killed." He reminded cheerfully. The little girl didn't reply to this, but her frown deepened in worry. Was she about to be attacked again? Ignoring the human's silence, the flower continued unfettered.

"So you were able to play by your own rules." The flower gave a slight shrug at this before his face became dubious and more monster-like. "You spared the life of a single person."

"Hee hee hee..."

"I bet you feel really great." Sarcasm practically dripped from his voice. "You haven't killed anybody yet."

"What are you even talking about?!" Fearia snapped. Bewildered by what she was hearing. "Of course I haven't killed anyone! Why would I do that?"

"Don't act all innocent." Flowey smiled sweetly. "You and I both know why you came down here." The distinct lack of a response made his smile grow even wider. "You wanted to prove yourself to your dear ol' dad... I wonder, how were you planning to do that?" Tilting his flowery head, he gave the child a crooked smile. "Let me guess. Were you planning on KILLING everyone with Kindness?"

Fearia covered her ears as wicked laughter poured from the evil yellow flower. Whatever he was implying, he was wrong! He WAS wrong. ...he was... wasn't he? She never wanted to kill anyone...

"That fool went easy on you." Flowey sneered. "But what will you do if you meet a relentless killer?" Smiling again, the flower swayed back and forth with barely contained glee. "You'll die and you'll die and you'll die." He giggled. "Until you tire of trying."

"What will you do then?" Flowey's face became monstrous. "Will you kill out of frustration? Or will you give up entirely on this world..." A hungry desperate look transformed his face once again. "...and let ME inherit the power to control it?"

Fearia felt a cold sweat form on the back of her neck and she took a step back without even realizing she had moved. This flower might as well be speaking a different language for all the sense it was making to her. What she did understand though was that this flower was dangerous and quite possibly unhinged. She had never felt such a murderous aura in all her life. Whatever power he was seeking, she hoped he never got it. Who knows what kind of nightmare would ensue?

"I am the prince of this world's future." Flowey declared. "Don't worry, my little monarch, my plan isn't regicide. This is SO much more interesting!"

Fearia was positively spooked when the flower's face grew in size and shape, resembling something utterly ghoulish. Before it had disappeared into the ground, Flowey released a stream of horrendous laughter loud enough to hurt the child's ears and caused her to jump in fright.

Now alone, Fearia released a shaky breath. She truly hoped she would never have to see that magical talking flower again.

I love how Flowey is always just out of sight but never really gone.

...

So... who's ready for Snowdin?
