People sometimes say that decisions made on a whim can either bring you the greatest of satisfaction or the worst of disappointment and regret. On the former side, it's obvious that a surprise convenience can surely bring happiness to the benefactor because, yeah, it's a surprise. Of course the same could be said on the latter. For example, if you're playing basketball and there's just a few seconds remaining before the game ends but still enough to take a proper shot, with your team is behind by just a single point. If you throw a dumb miracle shot on a whim, You would be overjoyed if that dumb shot would enter the rim. However, if that shot was unsuccessful, you would be filled with insane amount of regret knowing that you may possibly win if you've just taken a proper shot.

With that, on the ideal standpoint, planning every decisions you make is the best thing to do. A high chance of achieving a miniscule amount of satisfaction due to planning is still better than an almost guaranteed chance of failure and regret due to deciding on a whim.

However, as much as I completely agree with the "think before you act" saying, my desicion of running for the student council presidency was actually completely on a whim. And no, my earlier refusals of Shiromeguri-senpai's request was just my immediate response to anything, refusing I mean.

With that being said, I'm now starting to regret everything as I saw my name posted on the bulletin board as the very first candidate for the student council presidency.

"There, all done. Now your victory is assured, Hikigaya-kun!" She exclaimed after postingnon the bulletin board.

"I think it's too early for us to celebrate. And i think it's not worth celebrating to begin with."

"Oh come on, I'm sure you'll like the position."

"Yeah yeah, whatever you say, senpai."

Shiromeguri-senpai then started walking towards the stairs that leads to the floor of the third years but she suddenly stopped.

"Um before I forget, meet me at the student council office after your club activities"

"Why?"

"Silly, we need to plan for your platforms. I'll be waiting for you there, okay."

"Yeah, I'll be there." I feel like Megu Megu Megurin power is starting to affect me.

Ah, club room is unusually silent due to me being the first one to arrive here. I didn't go here with Yuigahama because she's still with her clique and I don't want to disturb them and gain unnecessary attention. It's also unusual that our resident ice queen is not here yet but it's a good thing. With that, the obvious thing to do here is, of course, to sleep. Or I was about to when the door suddenly opened violently.

"Oi Hikki! Why you didn't wait for me?" Yuigahama shouted while panting heavily. She possibly ran all the way here.

"Eh? You didn't ask me to wait for you."

"*sighs* That's very you, Hikki." She then sat at her usual seat, fiddling with her phone. Now this is awkward.

A few minutes passed and the door once again opened again but now in a gentle manner. Yukinoshita, wearing an unusual facial expression of confusion, entered the room and sat on her seat at the opposite end of the table.

"Hikigaya-kun, what was that all about?" She suddenly spoke.

"What's what?" Though I have a clear idea what she's referring to.

"Why did you run for presidency?"

"Eh, seriously? You did, Hikki?" Yuigahama was visibly surprised too.

"Uh, Yeah, I did. What about it?"

"So why? What happened to "To work is to lose"?"

Yeah, why indeed did I accepted Shiromeguri-senpai's request? As far as I know, this only leads to more work. This is basically high-risk no-return situation. Could be that I unknowingly been hypnotized by senpai into doing her bidding? No, that couldn't be it since I know to myself that it's a decision fully made by myself but I still don't know why.

With that, I only need to tell them one thing. "Shiromeguri-senpai asked me to run for the position. That's all about it."

"As far as I remembered, she made the request to the service club, and it was to find a candidate for the position, not asking you to run yourself." Hah, trying to flex your memory capacity to me, implying that I didn't remember what her request to the club, huh?

"Of course I know that. It's just that senpai personally asked me later yesterday." With that, Yukinoshita's face expressed disbelief faster that her words did.

"Hikigaya-kun, your delusional tendencies are leaking. Do you really expect me to believe you?"

"Ask senpai yourself if you don't believe me."

The two of them became silent. Either they believe in me now or just given up on finding the answer that they want on me, it doesn't matter as long as they'll stop pestering me about it.

Come to think of it, I kinda wonder why Hiratsuka-sensei haven't asked me about me running for presidency yet. On normal circumstances, she would call me to the faculty office and either praise me for doing something right for once or scold me for doing an almost guaranteed failure stunt and embarrassing myself even more to the whole student body.

Then as usual, the club hours has ended with no clients asking for our help. I hope it will continue to be like this for the whole year.

"Hey Hikki, wanna come with us?" I'm suddenly startled by Yuigahama enthusiastically invited me to somewhere I don't know.

"Uh, no." I turned my back against them.

"You're not even asking where? As expected from a shut-in." You can easily identify who said that.

"I'm only being considerate here knowing that the place that usually interests people like Yuigahama are those fancy and crowded places. If I go with you, someone might mistake me for being a creepy sexual offender stalking two high school girls."

"Well, thank you for your consideration." Yukinoshita sarcastically replied.

"You're welcome."

With them now outside my line of sight, I followed what Shiromeguri-senpai told me this morning. Of course I would not be heading there without having a can of pure mana disguised as a sweetened coffee that's why I took a detour to the nearest vending machine.

With two cans of MAXX Coffee in hand, I'm now ready to enter to the student council office.

knock knock* "Shiromeguri-senpai, are you there."

Before I knew it, the door suddenly opened violently, causing me to drop my cans of coffee. I quickly ducked to pick them. However, while I was on the floor, what I saw the legs of someone wearing a slacks. I have a bad feeling about this.

"You're finally here, Hikigaya!"

"H-Hiratsuka-sensei?"
