"Hiratsuka-sensei?"
To be honest, I'm already anticipating anything of this but her showing up now and not just calling me on lunch break is not what I'm expecting. I completely know that this is all about me running for presidency.
"Whatever, come in first."
She moved to open the way for me to enter the office. I then entered and saw Shiromeguri-senpai waving at me, inviting me at the sofa that she's sitting. Hiratsuka-sensei followed me and sat on the sofa in front of where I and senpai were seated
"Well, some bold stunt you did there, Hikigaya." Sensei started.
"I'm aware, sensei."
"I'm pretty sure you already know how much of a hassle this position but I'm not here to scare you of it. In fact, I'm congratulating you. Even if this decision of yours is kinda unplanned but I'm amazed that you're now developing a good sense of responsibility. I really knew that entering you to the service club will help you function well in the society" she said with a weird look of hopefulness in her eyes.
Deep inside, I know that what she said is right. Service club is the main reason that I acquired the urge to do something concerning others. Though I'd like to deny that everything that I did was for others and constantly say to myself that those are just for self-satisfaction, in the end, they all still came down to me helping other people. If sensei didn't forced me to join the club, I would just turn my back on anything, thinking that I don't have the slightest reason to help.
"If you'd ever need help for this matter, don't hesitate to ask me." Sensei added.
"You're a bit too supportive on this matter, sensei." I replied.
"Of course I am. After all, it's my job to guide young people to the right path and support them all the way."
I'm thankful that she supports me on this matter but just for the sake of keeping my sanity intact from how different this 'Hiratsuka Shizuka' in front of me is from whom I'm used to, I need to add this remark. "Supporting young people, huh? So you admit that you're already o-oof!" There you go.
"It seems like you still need some guidance, Hikigaya." Sensei said while her fist was still buried on my stomach. "Well whatever, I've already said what I need to say. Good luck with your candidacy, Hikigaya." She then left the office. Seriously, that's all you need to say?
Looking at my side, I saw Shiromeguri-senpai with her worried expression. Of course she would be worried considering that she witnessed it firsthand how the guidance counselor just casually used violence on her kouhai.
"Are you okay, Hikigaya-kun?"
"Yeah, I'm used to it already." In return, her worry just gotten worse.
"Violence isn't something to get used to, you know? You shouldn't comment about a woman's age, especially to Hiratsuka-sensei." she said while patting my head. Honestly, receiving a little brother treatment from someone older than me feels kinda odd. Well, I've always been an older brother for as long as I could remember that's why this is so new to me that's enough to make me uncomfortable. Or should I say I'm too comfortable with it that I might die while smiling if this continues."Um senpai, you're too close."
"Ah sorry! I think I've gotten a bit overboard there." She then shyly retracted her hands from my head. "Now then, let's get started on the planning for your platforms."
Ah of course, I almost forgot about that. Being the only candidate for now doesn't guarantee my victory yet, I still need to have a good platforms to avoid a vote of no confidence. Actually, I already have something in mind that could be an ideal project; Every vending machines shouldn't run out of MAX Coffees. Unfortunately, that's not for the student council to decide that's why Shiromeguri-senpai will help me find some issues that's within the jurisdiction of the student council.
(A/N: Because I don't know anything about even the smallest form of politics, let's just say that their planning ended successfully and he's now ready if he really would be elected as the president.)
The planning ended without a hitch. From what I've noticed, everything that we've planned are all just the continuations or related to the current administration's projects while of course minding my own opinions on the matter. This is the first time I saw Shiromeguri-senpai in action and I'm honestly impressed. She actually managed to make her platforms during her time of running for the position a reality or at the very least nearly accomplished, of course because she didn't add those extravagant nothings on her platforms. Now, I'm convinced that senpai is really looking for a true successor that will continue her projects or even surpass her, and she chose me as the one who will do all of those. I'm the chosen one. Ugh, that chuuni title is too revolting.
"Thanks for your help, senpai." I said while opening the can of MAX Coffee that I bought earlier and took a sip on it.
"No problem. After all, I'm the one who asked you to run for presidency, it's my responsibility to help you this much."
Noticing that I actually bought two cans of coffee earlier, I decided to give it to senpai as I'm sure that she's also tired. And I also need to spread the power of MAX.
"Um senpai, please take this." I offered while pointing at the unopened can besides mine.
"Ah thank you." Wew, thankfully she didn't mind the sweetness of MAX Coffee as she's visibly enjoying the said drink. Or she's just too thirsty to mind the taste.
This maybe the first time that I was gonna say this but...I quite enjoyed our time together. Unlike in the service club where remarks on my creepiness are frequently being thrown on me, being with her gives me a good amount of comfort that's different from what I could get from any other person so far. I'm not saying that I'm going to quit being a member of the club, it's just that my comfortable places had just been updated into three. First is, of course, home. Second is the service club room. And now the third is...
Right beside Shiromeguri-senpai?
A/N: Thanks for sticking around with my short chapters.
