Chapter 12- Quidditch

It was finally the first Hogsmeade Saturday Harry had an optimistic look on the day for the first time since returning to Hogwarts he was finally going to be outside the school and away from Umbridge for the day. Another added bonus to the day was that they would finally be sticking it to the ministry as they would be organizing their own Defense Against the Dark Arts class. He knew that he had the support of Hermione and the Weasley's but, besides that they didn't know who else would be showing up.

James and Lily to be honest didn't really know what to do with all the free time they had on their hands now. It seemed like at Grimmauld place there was always something that needed cleaning and when they got back to Potter Manor, they were researching how they were able to come back to life. But now that they had found out they didn't have anything to do. They weren't even able to leave their house now unless there was an Order meeting which hadn't happened in a while. It felt like they were in hiding again which to be fair they basically are in hiding now. The only thing that they could do besides go to meetings were research things for the order however, there wasn't much to research now people were mostly doing field missions for the order right now. The highlights of their days were when Harry called though it was interesting to hear how his fifth year was going right now and how he was establishing his Defense class secretly.

"Hey, Harry how was your first Defence class go?" Lily asked as they saw Harry appear on the mirror.

"It went pretty well the students who come show a great interest in it." Harry responded.

"That's great Harry." James said. "How many kids showed up?"

"There were about twenty kids that showed up tonight." Harry answered. "Hermione was brilliant though she found a way to communicate through a coin about when our next meeting times will be."

"That's brilliant Harry. So, everything at school is going well?" Lily asked.

"Yep, and our first quidditch match will be this Saturday." Harry responded.

"We'll try our best to be there Harry but we'll either have to go as someone else with Polyjuice potion or we'll need to borrow your invisibility cloak." James said.

"Oh, you can't just come to the school as yourselves?" Harry asked a little disappointed.

"I'm so sorry Harry but Dumbledore still doesn't want anyone to know that we're alive again he feels like it will be a key advantage." Lily said.

Harry considered this for a moment thinking about the stir it would cause in the media and the distrust that had already been put in him and Dumbledore by the media. "Alright I'll mail you the cloak and then you'll be able to be there." Harry said.

"Alright we'll make sure to see you there." James said.

"Ok I'll see you guys on Saturday." Harry said.

"See you Saturday Harry." Lily and James said as the mirror went back to being just a mirror.

James and Lily were now heavily awaiting Saturday as it was the first time that they would be able to see Harry play. Lily wasn't really a big quidditch fan until James had been able to convert her to enjoying the game once they had started dating. James and Lily were also super excited because they would actually be able to leave the house and get outside, they were going a little crazy being stuck inside for most of the day. The next day Hedwig dropped by and delivered the cloak to James and Lily it felt weird to have the cloak back as James hadn't had it since Dumbledore asked for it all those years ago.

It was finally Saturday and James, and Lily were getting ready to go to Harry's quidditch game they would be apparating right outside the quidditch field Dumbledore had left two seats open on purpose as he knew that James and Lily would be watching from under the invisibility cloak. Dumbledore had to be very cautious of Umbridge however as if she found out about James and Lily the ministry would find out and then Voldemort would find out putting Harry and his parents in more danger then they already were. Normally Dumbledore would've not have allowed James and Lily to come but, he was already under enough fire from James, Lily, and Harry so he allowed it. Not to mention James and Lily would just disregard what Dumbledore would say and go do whatever they wanted anyway. Dumbledore had hoped that when they started dating back in seventh year that Lily would be able to reign James in and he would start following the rules a bit more. Much to Dumbledore's dismay however James had gotten Lily into a bit more rule breaking even though James breaking the rules saw a drop because of Lily.

James and Lily arrived right outside of the quidditch pitch under the invisibility cloak. When they got there was a sense of nostalgia between the two of them and all the great memories that they shared there. They saw the seats where Dumbledore had specifically assigned them right between McGonagall and Dumbledore. It was a smart decision as if the cloak accidently slipped off them McGonagall or Dumbledore could quickly throw it back on them. It was an intense match between Gryffindor and Slytherin as Ron wasn't playing his best game in net eventually Harry had caught the snitch and Gryffindor won the game. Lily and James were amazed by Harry's talent even for James who was an exceptional quidditch player Harry still amazed him. Things quickly went downhill for Harry after that as Malfoy had said some pretty rude remarks about his mother and also the Weasley's and Fred, George and Harry went after him. This of course got them into trouble with Umbridge and they got suspended from playing quidditch for the rest of the year. James and Lily missed this however as they were talking with Dumbledore about business surrounding the order.

Harry was really upset that he got suspended he tried to explain to Umbridge that he was provoked by Malfoy, but she was having none of that. Though he couldn't be too mad because if Malfoy ever came at his mom again, he would make sure to make his life the most miserable as possible. Harry was sitting outside as James and Lily would be returning the cloak before they went back to Potter Manor.

"Hey Harry." Lily said as they approached Harry

"Hey mom, dad." Harry responded

"That was a great game that you played." James told Harry as he handed him the cloak.

"Thanks dad." Harry said.

"So, when's your next game?" Lily asked.

"Actually, mom I got suspended from quidditch for the rest of the year." Harry said dejected.

"What did you do?" James asked.

"Well, I kind of beat the crap out of Malfoy after he said some pretty rude comments about the Weasley's and mom." Harry responded.

"You know what Harry, that's ok you stood up for what's right and that's what really counts." Lily said.

"Doesn't help that the head of the Slytherin house was begging for my suspension for the rest of the year." Harry said.

"Who's the head of the Slytherin house?" James asked.

"I am." James and Lily didn't even need to turn around to know who's voice it was.

Snape was out around the grounds retrieving some ingredients he needed for the potion that he was brewing. He was caught off guard however when he saw two people approach Harry and he went a bit closer and was shocked at who he saw. He saw Potter and Lily he longed to see Lily after the past 14 years and he hadn't talked to her in well over 16 years. He decided to go behind them and announce his presence.

James and Lily were shocked that Dumbledore would hire an ex- death eater at Hogwarts especially the one that was responsible for their deaths. They knew he switched sides at the end but, they still didn't fully trust him. James over his time in hiding had been able to keep his emotions better in check or else he would've socked Snape right then.

"Harry how about you go back to your common room." James told Harry. He didn't object and left Snape alone with his parents.

"Lily I can't believe you're here." Snape said as he reached out to grab Lily's hands. "I'm so happy to see you."

Lily was not able to keep her emotions in check as well as James had however, and once Harry was gone, and Snape had reached out to grab her hands Lily socked him real good in the nose.

"You think you can just say your glad to see me after all the pain you've caused my family." Lily screamed as she went in for another hit on Snape however, James held her from causing more damage to Snape. "How about at least an apology. James let me go." Lily screamed. James didn't let go of Lily as she started to sob into James' shoulder as she couldn't hold back her emotions.

"But Lily, I love you." Snape said. "I was the one who told Dumbledore to hid you guys."

Surprisingly James was the one to speak. "Look Snape Lily doesn't love you so just move on you deserve someone who will love you back. We know that you were the one to deliver the prophecy to Voldemort but, we know that you switched sides and that takes guts. But it can't be Lily move on Snape. James said as he apparated away with Lily back to Potter Manor leaving Snape with those thoughts to stew in his mind.

James took Lily home with her still sobbing into his shoulder he took Lily to the sitting rom and wrapped a blanket around her as he went off to put a pot of water to boil and bring Lily some tea. James just sat there waiting for Lily to be ready to talk to him.

"I can't believe he was the one to deliver the prophecy to Voldemort." Lily said at last.

"He probably didn't know that it was about us." James tried to reason.

"But after the fact he did, and he has the audacity to treat Harry the way he treats him and caused him to be an orphan for nearly 14 years." Lily responded.

James really couldn't come up to counter that as Lily did have a really good point. "Well maybe we'll give it a bit of time and you might be able to forgive him." James said.

Lily thought about this however, she knew she could never fully forgive Snape for what he took away from the two of them.
