"Erwin."

The blonde commander turned away from his horse to face Dina.

"Can we talk?" She asked him, looking down.

"Okay" Erwin responded, "if you have anything else to tell me, now would be the perfect chance."

"Actually" Dina started "I have to ask you something."

The man just smiled at that.

"You're under arrest and you want to make demands?" He asked, "I don't think that's the correct way."

"Please, let me help you…"

Erwin looked her in the eyes, deep in thought.

"I support Hange's decision" he finally said "you possess too much valuable information. Right now, we can't afford to lose you."

"Please…" She pleaded once again "…Eren's in danger. He needs me…"

The commander closed his eyes for a moment.

"You know" he started "right after you approached me, I ordered a background check to be conducted, regarding you."

Dina widened her eyes when she heard that.

"What surprised me the most, was that there was little to no information about you."

She didn't expect that someone would actually go looking so far into the past.

"The most interesting thing" he continued "was that prior to the attack in Shiganshina, there was literally zero confirmable data about a person named Dina Fritz. Nobody from your district seemed to know you. There were neither records of you ever getting married nor the ones about you owning that house you claim you'd lost."

The scouts did their digging in regards to her.

"Not every information shortcoming can be attributed to the events from five years ago" Erwin exclaimed "therefore, I have a theory."

He looked her in the eyes.

"I think that before the attack on Shiganshina, you didn't live within these walls."

Dina knew that once Erwin came up with a theory, no force on earth could make him drop it. She sighed heavily. Seeing that she was staying silent, Erwin continued:

"If you possess…" he suddenly paused "…certain abilities that could help Eren, I will let you come."

Right now, she really wanted to just tell him everything. After five long years of living under a cover, she was tired. Yet, she knew that she had to wait with revealing her secret until Eren was rescued.

"Right now," Dina slowly said "I can't confirm that for sure…"

The man however seemed to take her answer as a yes. He smiled at her.

"Okay" Erwin finally said, "I hope I can count on you…"

BOOOM!

A loud noise ripped through the air. The bones and muscles surrounded Dina's form, as her titan body formed rapidly.

She could already see that the approaching titans focused on her. Dina quickly hardened her fist and threw a powerful punch right at the bigger one. The beast had been launched in the air from the sheer force of the hit. For the second titan, Dina hardened her shin and after a split second, she kicked it right in the head.

As the defeated titans laid on the ground, she took a moment to assert her surroundings. Behind her, Hannes was watching her with wide eyes. He ran over to help Eren and Historia, but after she transformed right in front of them, he seemed to be in shock.

Dina nodded towards him, which seemed to bring him out of his stupor. He quickly grabbed the kids by their hands and ran towards the horses. Seeing that Eren was safe for now, Dina looked towards Reiner and Bertholdt. The warriors seemed just as shocked as everyone else, hence all of their actions had been temporarily halted.

'This is a good moment to use female titan's ability' she thought as her titan body took a deep breath.

ROAAAAR!

As the roar echoed around, she noticed that it worked perfectly. All the surrounding titans suddenly stopped fighting the scouts and started running towards her instead.

Realizing that she needed to move, Dina stepped back, and launched herself at full speed towards the armoured titan.

'All I need is some distraction, so the survey corps can run away.'

Nevertheless, she steeled herself for the possibility of a fight.

ROAAAAAAR!

Dina roared even louder right before she threw a powerful punch straight at Reiner's raised guard. Her hardened fist seemed to easily break through the armour, as the titan, along with Bertholdt on his arm, was thrown in the air. All other titans which were crowding him before, fell to the ground along with the strong shifter.

She thought about what to do next. The horde of titans she summoned was rapidly approaching them. Her ability could make them focus on her only for a brief period of time, and she still needed to get away. Reiner was starting to get up, but Dina decided not to attack him for the second time. She didn't know how long Bertholdt would keep his patience and if he transformed as well, she wouldn't make out of there alive.

"Dina!" Someone on horse yelled at her.

She looked to the ground to see the small form of Mikasa.

"Jump down!" The dark-haired girl cried out.

Dina didn't need another second. She momentarily exited her titan body and fell right onto the horse Mikasa brought for her. Just as the running horde of titans reached her previous spot, the two females rode their horses away.

'We're safe' the blonde woman thought to herself 'Eren's safe.'

As they reached the rest of the scouts, she finally saw Erwin. To her shock, he seemed to be missing an arm.

Even though he seemed to be in a lot of pain, he still found the energy to smile at Dina.

"Thanks that I could count on you…" He spoke.

As they all rode forward, they took one final look at their enemies.

"Seems like they won't be getting out of this one…" Dina said.

"WATCH OUT!" She heard someone shout in fear.

They looked to see what caused all the ruckus.

To their surprise, the jaw titan was running right at them. However, when he was in attacking distance, Marcel took a different route. He passed them over and ran to save his friends from their grim fate.

"Do not engage the jaw titan!" Erwin commanded.

'Looks like they got lucky' Dina thought as they slowly neared wall Rose.
