Eren felt funny. Even though he was sure he was in his own room, something felt different. He somehow felt lighter than usual.

'No matter' he thought as he grabbed a brush to comb his hair.

Wait. Where did that thought even come from?

As he stood in front of a mirror, he widened his eyes. Instead of his own face, he saw a young woman with beautiful, dark hair. The female seemed familiar to Eren. But was it even possible? Could it be…

"…Historia…"

"What is it?"

Eren suddenly opened his eyes. As he was slowly getting up, he looked at the girl in question, sitting at the table by his bed.

"Nothing" he replied "it was just a dream…"

"You dream about me?" Historia asked him with a sly smile.

"It wasn't you…" Eren responded holding his head. Only now did he realize the headache that the dream gave him.

Yesterday, they received a note from commander Erwin. He said that the military police caught onto their tracks and ordered them to change locations. It was a good call, since their previous hideout had been raided that night. Levi and his friends were doing some kind of operation in town, but Eren and Historia, along with Dina still under arrest, were supposed to stay here.

"Who was it then?" Historia asked him as he sat at the table with her.

"I don't know" he replied after some thought "she looked a bit like you, but with dark hair…"

"Huh" Historia exclaimed "could it be a memory?"

"Yeah..." Eren said "…probably. Would you happen to know a girl like that?"

Historia had been revealed to be important to the monarchy. She told them all about her previous life on the farm. About her mother who didn't seem to care about her and about her mysterious father.

"No…" she finally replied "…not in a long…"

She suddenly closed her eyes and winced in pain.

"Historia?" Eren asked worriedly as the girl grabbed her head.

"…I'm fine…" She replied "…it's just… I think I saw a memory…"

"What was it?" He asked her.

"…Maybe it was just your suggestion, but I thought I saw the girl you were talking about…"

Eren widened his eyes. Dina told them about how memories could be transferred with their power, but he didn't expect Historia to be able to see them as well.

"Do you know her?" He asked the girl.

"No…" Historia slowly said as she opened her eyes "…I'm sorry…"

She slouched over the table.

"I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help" the girl said sadly "I'm supposed to possess important knowledge, yet I can't remember any of it..."

"There you go" Eren exclaimed causing her to look up "acting like Krista all over again."

"What?"

"You don't have to apologize for everything" He told the girl "You started living under your own name. Might as well start living for yourself."

"…That sounds like something Dina would say…" the blonde exclaimed "…but you're right. I know I should."

"I have to admit" Eren suddenly said "I like Historia way more than I liked Krista."

"Huh?" The girl in question exclaimed with a slight blush.

"Krista was visibly fake" the boy explained unaware of the blonde's reaction "Historia is just a regular, honest girl…"

"That's what I like about you" Eren said as he finally turned to look at the girl.

Only now did he realize that she was blushing. He looked down, trying to hide his own blush.

"Hey, lovebirds" they suddenly heard Levi, who was standing in the open door "stop being all lovey dovey and come here."

Eren walked over with embarrassment, to hear the results of their operation. Levi managed to strike a deal with the Reeves company, which was previously trying to catch them. Dimo Reeves agreed to set up a trap for some of the MPs. Thanks to his help, they were able to catch two policemen from the interior first squad.

After a long interrogation, Levi and Hange managed to finally get some information.

To everyone's shock, it turned out that the true royal bloodline was the Reiss family.

Historia didn't know what to think about this. She wasn't sure about her role in the plan the survey corps was brewing along the Reeves company. The blonde had been thrown into this world of plots, coups, and politics against her will, but ultimately, she understood her place.

This was the night their plan was supposed to be put in motion.

"What are you doing?" Eren asked Dimo Reeves with annoyance as the man smeared some dirt over his face.

"You were supposed to be held here for two days" the trader responded, "it'll seem strange if you're totally clean."

Eren and Historia were waiting for the exchange between the MPs and the Reeves company inside an old mineshaft. They were already tied down.

"Hey, pops" asked the merchant's son "why do we have to listen to that midget? What was that guy's name? Levi…?"

"Listen, Flegel" Dimo replied "I hope you understand one day. Merchants have to be able to read people. That awkward yet kind man… is being true to his word when he says he'll protect us and the barely alive district of Trost."

"If you say so…" Flegel said as he started to walk off.

"Hey! Where are you going?" The old trader asked.

"To take a leak…"

Dimo shook his head at that. Suddenly he seemed to remember something.

"Oh" he said as rummaged in his pockets "before I forget…"

He took out a set of small blades and started handing them to Eren and Historia.

"They are small, but they will be able to hurt Eren, if the plan goes south."

The boy in question thought about his power. Recently, something seemed to be blocking his abilities. As if he somehow lost any will to fight. He wondered if all the revelations about the outside world were the cause of that.

"Boss! The MPs are already here!"

"They're a lot earlier than they said they'd be…" Dimo pondered.

After a moment a tall man walked in.

"Good job Reeves" he said and walked over to Historia "hello there."

As the girl tuned to face him, she widened her eyes in shock.

"Remember me?" He said "Krista Lenz. I was there the moment ya were given your new name."

This was the man who killed her mother.

"It's been five years…" The man turned towards the trader "Reeves, we need to talk. C'mon."

"What could that be?" The merchant asked mockingly "finally feel like paying me a proper fee?"

"Yes… This is quite good work. I'd like to speak to ya about it more."

As they were carried out, Eren noticed that something was off.

"What's that carriage?" Dimo asked.

"Hm? We came in it, of course."

"And what are we supposed to the wagon we brought those brats here in? It's better on the mountain roads."

The plan wasn't going how it was supposed to be.

"That's how ya get me to buy it, right?" The tall man exclaimed "ah, ya really can't trust a merchant."

"By the way Reeves. Do ya know a man named Levi Ackerman?"

Did the MPs know about their plans?

"Levi Ackerman…?" Dimo said, trying to act surprised "I'd never heard his full name, but you're talking about captain Levi of the survey corps, right? Yeah, I heard of him, but so did everyone. He's probably searching like mad for those two brats we kidnapped."

"I taught Levi a lot. That midget is my pride and joy. That's why…"

The man suddenly pulled out a knife and just as quickly, cut Dimo's throat.

"…It's really my fault that this is happening…"

Before Eren managed to do anything, he was knocked out.
