Harry woke up the next day on his birthday to be honest though he didn't actually get much sleep as he was thinking about what Dumbledore had told him yesterday, he couldn't stop thinking about how he was the one who was supposed to defeat Voldemort. He also wasn't excited that Snape was now going to be teaching his favourite class now. Harry decided that it was about time to get out of bed as he wasn't going to be getting any more sleep tonight anyways. Harry came down the stairs to James and Lily cooking breakfast for Harry while trying to calm down Emily.
"Hey mom, dad I can take care of Emily while you guys make breakfast." Harry said coming down the stairs.
"No, it's your birthday Harry you should be relaxing today." James said.
"It's ok I love spending time with Emily." Harry responded as he grabbed Emily from her highchair and started playing with her.
Breakfast was going much smoother now that Harry was playing with Emily Harry had a special way with Emily as he always seemed like he was able to get her to calm down a bit. James and Lily had made Harry waffles for his birthday, so they made ice cream with fresh fruit and waffles. While Harry was eating his breakfast James and Lily took Emily to play with. The Potter's were going to have everyone over for Harry's birthday. Normally they would love to take people out for Harry's birthday, but it wasn't exactly the safest thing to do anymore so they decided to have everyone at the safety of their home.
The Weasley's were the first ones to arrive at around noon time not a whole lot of people were coming but Neville and Hermione would also be coming over. Remus wasn't able to come due to being on an order mission though. James and Lily had a massive barbeque for everyone who had come over for Harry's birthday. It was a really fun time as the kids and James played quidditch after lunch and Harry also loved showing off Emily to his friends. For Ron, Ginny, Hermione, and Neville this was really their first time playing with a baby as Hermione and Neville were only children and Ron and Ginny were the youngest in their family so all four of them loved playing with Emily. As the night started coming the guest started to leave as Hermione had to go back to her parents as they were going to be taking a short vacation and they were leaving tomorrow Neville had to go back to his grandma's and the Weasley's were headed back to the burrow. It was just Harry and his parents for dinner, and it was just nice having just the four of them together for his birthday dinner.
The school year was quickly approaching and their Hogwarts letters had finally arrived with their O.W.L's scores Hermione and Ron were at Potter Manor when the letters had arrived Hermione had received 10 Outstanding and Harry had 8 and Ron got 7 Harry was able to get Outstanding in potions as his mom was a great help to Harry this year in potions. When Harry got his letter for the books that he needed for the upcoming year he was surprised to see that there was also a badge with his letter Harry couldn't believe it he was named the quidditch captain for the Gryffindor team.
"Harry congratulations!" Ron said as he saw the quidditch captain badge that Harry got.
"Harry, you got quidditch captain?" James asked as he walked by.
"Yeah, Dad I'm the new quidditch captain." Harry answered.
"Congrats Harry!" James said excitedly as he always wanted one of his kids to follow in his footsteps as being quidditch captain.
"What did Harry get?" Lily asked as she entered the room.
"Harry is the quidditch captain." James answered.
"That's great Harry." Lily said.
"Honestly Harry it's better then being a prefect because you basically get the same privileges you just don't get to take away points or give detentions but, you don't have to do patrols." James told Harry.
Harry knew that his dad was telling him this because he was disappointed that he didn't get prefect last year but as he thought about what his dad had told him the disappointment of not getting prefect last year seemed silly of him.
The Weasley's took them all to Diagon Alley to get their school supplies this year they made their usual stops at the bookstore and the supply shop. Harry got all of the books that he needed and also the supplies that he needed. They ended their shopping trip at Fred and George's new joke shop. Harry was really impressed with what they could do with the 1000 galleons that he gave them they really stretched out every last galleon and Fred and George had done really well now and had told him that he could have whatever he wanted for free since he was their primary investor. Harry thought of getting some pranking items for his dad but, his mom would probably never forgive him if he did because she was the only person at the moment that he could prank so he thought better of it. Harry though had seen Draco had escaped from his mother and he took Hermione and Ron with him to see what he was up to.
Harry couldn't believe what he had just seen even though Ron and Hermione didn't believe him that Draco was a death eater Harry knew that Draco had taken the dark mark and was indeed a death eater.
When Harry got back to Potter manor, he realized that he had forgotten to get his potions book. In previous years it would've been easy to go back to diagon alley to get the book but now that he needed security to wherever he was going he didn't want to get a full security detail to get one book and he couldn't order it either as he couldn't put down Potter Manor as his address without arising suspicion so he decided to hope that he could borrow one while he got one delivered to Hogwarts.
Harry wanted to see what his parents thought of it as they were in school during the first war, and they might've seen something that he was now seeing in school.
"Hey mom, dad." Harry said as he entered the dining room where Lily was feeding Emily and James was reading the paper.
"Hey what's up Harry?" James asked.
"Not much just getting ready for school." Harry answered. "I do have a question though."
"Sure, what is it, Harry?" Lily asked.
"Well, I think that this kid in my year took the dark mark, and I was wondering did anyone take the dark mark when you two were in school?" Harry asked.
"Well, unfortunately there were a few who took the dark mark well they were still in school." James answered. "So, it is possible that he did take the dark mark but highly unlikely that he did."
"The only students to take the dark mark were the ones who were really into blood purity." Lily added
Even though his parents had told him that it was unlikely that Draco had taken the dark mark he had gotten his answer Voldemort had been giving it to teenagers back them and he was doing it now as well.
