Thank you for all of the wonderful reviews!
I love to see it when people take interest in the small details. :)
This chapter is super short, so to be fair, I'm going to be updating again within the next three days.

Run Rabbit Run

Yawning, the small child uncurled herself from around Poff and sat up. She felt a little bit better now. Her clothes were finally almost dry and she wasn't as cold as she had been before. Above her, the magical healing star floated patiently as its soft glow bathed the young girl in light.
Rubbing at her eyes, Fearia stretched. How long had she slept? It was impossible to say. She was literally in a cave within a cave. Looking around, she realized something. She was still alone. Kind of. Where was the yellow lizard boy? Had he found a way through somewhere else? Was he looking for her?
Getting back to her feet, Fearia put on a brave face as she looked to the small fluffy dog. "Come, Poff. Let's go."
Poff yipped excitedly and wagged his tail.
Leaving the healing star behind, the little girl emerged from the small cave she had napped in. Before her wide eyes, a massive room stretched out into the shadows. As far as she could tell, it had no bottom! It was an endless pit of darkness! The millions of gems on the ceiling illuminated the area from overhead, making it easy for her to see the webbing of wooden bridges that spanned over the drop. They seemed to have no rhyme nor reason to their design. Whoever had build them didn't look like they knew where they were going. What if they didn't go anywhere?
A small whimper came from the previously courageous child as she looked down. More twisting bridges could be seen far below, the darkness nearly devouring them. With a harsh gust, a cool draft blew back up at her, displacing her bunny hood and ruffling her messy hair.
Why did this place have to exist?!
Fearia steeled herself as she cautiously stepped out onto the wooden planks. Nobody was going to help her right now. She had to do this herself. The sooner she got to the end of wherever this winding path led, the sooner she could put this place behind her. Forever, she hoped.
Poff happily padded ahead of his small person as he confidently led the way. It had taken a while for her to gather up the nerve to walk at a normal pace, but now she seemed to be okay. More than ten minutes had already past, so they had to be getting close to the other side. How much farther could it be?
A strange clanking noise came from below causing both human and dog monster to stop walking. What was that? Looking over the side, Fearia spotted a shadowed figure standing on the bridge a few stories below them. "Huh...? Who's tha-!"
Grabbing the small child by her hood, Poff pulled her back just in time. Fearia gasped loudly as a glowing blue spear shot up, barely missing her face. What was that?! Shocked, she quickly moved away from the side. Were they attacking her?
Urgent barking caught Fearia's attention as Poff took a few quick steps forward as the wooden planks began to glow in spots all around them. Confused, the little girl stumbled backwards just as a cluster of blue spears shot up right in front of her. Poff barked again as he ran in a tight circle trying to get her to run.
It wasn't working!
Rushing back, the small white dog took hold of the little girl's sweater and tugged. The terrified child seemed to finally get the message and took off running while the fluffy monster quickly followed after her. They needed to get out of here fast!
Dodging spears left and right, the duo weaved their way across the wooden bridge in hopes of finding the exit. This place was like a maze! Just when they thought they were getting somewhere, the bridge stopped and they had to backtrack. They seemed to be finally getting close now though, the path they were on was going in a straight line and hadn't stopped yet.
The cavern wall appeared so suddenly, the small child almost didn't have time to slow down. They had reached the other side. Finally! But... where was the exist? The wooden planks ended right in front of a stone wall. Had they taken a wrong turn?
Panting, both dog and child looked back. The spears had stopped for some reason. Maybe whoever was chasing them had finally given up. They could only hope. After catching her breath, Fearia decided on her only option. They needed to go back...
At a much slower pace, the two quietly made their way back the way they had come. Not before too long though, a heavy clanging sound froze them both in place as an armored person stepped out of the darkness, blocking their way. Whoever they were, they were impressive looking. Dark armor covered them from head to toe, concealing their identity completely. Caught in the updraft, a long red ponytail flowed from their helmet.
Fearia took a trembling step back as Poff bristled in front of her, a small growl coming from his throat. It wasn't that intimidating...
Holding out an armored hand, the person materialized another glowing blue spear and arched their arm. The intention was clear. In what seemed like the blink of an eye, the next few seconds happened way too fast.
Perceiving the imminent threat, Poff had charged at the armored person with all of his tiny fluffy fury, growl barking as he did so. The small dog was ignored completely as the person threw the glowing spear. It sunk into the wooden planks at the child's feet causing her to fall backwards onto her bottom.
Fearia's eyes widened as a loud wood splintering crack echoed throughout the darkness. A moment later, she felt the boards beneath her give way. The little girl only had time to gasp as gravity grabbed a hold of her and dragged her down into the bottomless pit below.
Abandoning his useless assault, Poff yipped out in alarm and rushed back over to the end of the broken bridge. He must have barked for a solid minute before his fluffy tail began to droop in despair. The armored person had vanished back into the darkness seeing as their horrible task had been accomplished. Now Poff was all alone...
Whining, the small dog took one last look down to where the child had fallen. He then turned and sprinted away. If there was anyone who could help, he was certain he knew who it was. Filled with determination, or what past for it in monster standards, the little white dog set out to find his skeleton friend.
