"What is it, Oliver?"

Grace looked back in the direction of the party they'd just vacated, Oliver still tugging her further down the hallway.

"I think we've earned a moment away from the noise," he said with a suggestive smile.

She couldn't argue with that.

He led them to the library at the end of the hall. It wasn't used much these days, but it was closer and more discreet than his office. Within seconds of pulling her over the threshold, he scooped her up in his arms. Having anticipated this, Grace kissed back fervently, letting out a contented breath as she relaxed into him a minute later.

"It's going to be a long day," he said when they eventually broke apart.

She agreed. "I'm so happy about Annie, but I'm also happy about us."

"Me, too." He pecked her lips again. "No one batted an eye."

"I'm afraid that's my fault."

"Oh?" Oliver questioned. "Have you been telling people?"

Shyly, she sunk her head into her shoulders. "Not recently, but over the years it's been something the others have teased me about. I suppose I haven't hidden my feelings well."

"How have I never noticed?"

Touching his cheek, Grace said, "You've had other things on your mind. None of that's important now. What matters is that we're about to start something wonderful together."

He smiled. "That we are."

They leaned in again, only to be broken by Grace a few seconds later to Oliver's disappointment.

"I think we need to have an important discussion before we go back out there."

Nervously, he asked, "What's that?"

"I know we've been… distracted… but I couldn't help but notice Annie's friend Molly."

Oliver suppressed a chuckle, predicting her next words.

"The two girls seem so close. They haven't left each other's side all day."

"Yes, I noticed that, too."

She took a breath. "So, I've been thinking that, well, maybe… You know, we're so busy as it is, but now that we're… things are changing between us. We might not always be able to give Annie our undivided attention."

"Ah," he played along, "and what do you suggest we do to assure Annie isn't left on her own?"

"Maybe we – I mean you – could adopt Molly as well? Annie's used to having other kids around. She needs a sister."

Taking her hands in his, he raised them to his lips before correcting, "We. And I do agree, though initially, I assumed we'd give her siblings the old-fashioned way."

She blushed at this, having to lower her eyes though she squeezed his hands. "All the more reason she needs Molly."

"I agree," Oliver said, dropping their hands.

"You do?" She beamed, meeting his eye again.

"Absolutely."

Before he could see the tears beginning to form, she threw her arms around his neck and hugged him tightly. When she released him, she said, "Should we tell her today?"

He thought a moment before shaking his head. "This is Annie's day. We'll tell Molly tomorrow and have an additional set of adoption papers drawn up. Once that's done, we'll get Justice Brandeis back here to officiate both of them."

"I can hardly wait!"

Tugging at her hips, he finished, "And then I think you and I should go out to dinner and celebrate."

"Without the girls?" she questioned.

"Oh, of course we'll celebrate their adoptions with them, but I think we need to celebrate us, too. And that, I think, is best done alone."

With a grin, she nodded. "I'd love that."
