[A/N] Unlike the precious chapters of this compilation this scene is in no way related to my main story or it's sequel. It is very loosely based on the alternate story where Nick was the protagonist and had a much darker feel to it. This scene is a bit of a what-if so I hope you enjoy this dark bit of fluff.

"Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to join this todd and this doe in holy matrimony", the robed bear's voice echoed around the cathedral. Snow white robes that matched the color of his fur, flowed around his ankles while the long, golden trimmed stole hung down to his knees. In his huge white paws was a large, cedar bound book with numerous silk bookmarks that were placed tenderly between the pages.

Standing with the altar to his back, the priest towered over the small bride and groom like a giant furry, snow covered mountain peak. He looked out over the rows of crowded pews while reading from the ancient book. On one side of the great gilded hall were hundreds of rabbits and on the other the pews were filled with numerous predators.

The groom, a dashing red fox was dressed in a dark tuxedo. His coal black jacket covered a white shirt and held a white rose boutonnière over the right side lapel. A black bow tie was bound tightly around his neck covering a dark leather strap. Underneath the tuxedo's collar another, much darker collar was hidden. Attached to this tight collar was a small black box with a bright green light on the outside, that occasionally flashed orange while he stood in front of the altar and gazed down at his bride to be.

Paw in paw with the fox was a gray and white rabbit wearing a long, flowing white dress. The back and the shoulders of her dress were bare, showing off the rabbit's plush gray fur. Entwined around her ears was a clutch of thistle and orchids that held up the silken veil that flowed behind her head. A long train flowed from the back of the gorgeous dress and down the short steps that led up to the main altar.

Behind the bride and groom were two short lines of mammals. Judy had a line of her sisters wearing similar white dresses while Nick had the support of an oddly mixed group of predators of varying sizes. A very rotund cheetah stood directly behind the fox followed by a tiny desert fox and lastly a wild looking honey badger held up the rear of the line. All of the groomsmammals wore white shirts with matching black vests, ties and black leather collars with similar blinking boxes attached..

Lifting his great head to speak to the crowd, the priest's voice carried across the hall, "The couple will now deliver their vows." Closing the huge book with a single paw, he lowered his head and nodded towards the small fox, "Nick, will you give your vows to Judy?"

Releasing one of the white gowned rabbit's paws, Nick pulled a small car from his coat pocket and swallowed a lump in his throat. "Judy, ever since the day we met you have been chasing me. Even after you caught me, then rescued me from that river, and then we saved the city, the pursuit has never ended." A large tear formed in the fox's green eyes and he began to choke on the next few words, "I hope that the hunt never ends, that you will continue to chase me for the rest of our lives." Tears flowed freely down his cheeks and the words were so garbled that he had to cough and clear his throat before speaking his final vow, "Judy Hopps, I love you with all my heart."

It was clear on her muzzle that the small rabbit wanted to leap into the fox's arms and kiss away his tears but the best mammal stepped forward and placed a large yellow and black spotted paw on Nick's shoulder. After a loud sob and a few gulps of air the fox's tears slowly dried up.

The polar bear turned and nodded to the rabbit, "Go ahead, Judy."

Judy cleared her throat and spoke clearly, "Nick, you stood up for me like no one ever has before and you went out of your way to save my job." She rose up on her toes as her voice grew more confident, "You showed me a new and wonderful side of this city that I never even knew existed. Everyday we have spent together has been one great adventure after another, and you always bring out the best in me." The small rabbit's pleasant voice filled the huge cathedral while her muzzle began to glow with a vibrant smile, "Nicholas Wilde, I will love you till the end of our days."

"Nicely done you two," the great robed bear encouraged while he opened his book and began to read again from its pages. "Nicholas Piberius Wilde, do you take this doe to be your wife, to live together in holy matrimony, to love her, to honor her, to comfort and to keep her, in sickness and in health, forsaking all others as long as you both shall live?"

Taking a long slow breath, Nick looked deeply into Judy's purple eyes and paused for several seconds before answering with a clear and resolute, "I do."

Without pausing the bear turned to face the small rabbit in her flowing white gown, "And Judith Laverne Hopps, do you take this todd to be your husband, to live together in holy matrimony, to love him, to honor him, to comfort and keep him, in sickness and in health, forsaking all others, for as long as you both shall live?"

Judy gave a small hop as she unquestioningly declared, "I do."

Still looking down at the exuberant rabbit, the bear continued, "By this city's laws, a wife must be equal in all things to her husband. Since you are prey and he a predator this inequality cannot be allowed to stand, and thus from this day forth, Judith, you will be considered an honorary predator. Under this city's laws you will receive all the rights and obligations of a predator. Will you accept the legally binding terms of this marriage?"

She squeezed both of Nick's larger paws in her own and gently began to tug on them. Her ears dropped behind her head and for several heartbeats she stared deeply into his emerald eyes while she contemplated the polar bear's last statement.

Would she willingly choose to live the rest of her life as a predator? She, who had been raised as a rabbit, a prey mammal, all of her life, decide to give that up, to live with predators and to legally become a predator?

Predators were not well treated in this society. Making up less than ten percent of the population they were the minority and had very little say in how the city was run. The city was built by prey and run by prey, predators were mostly tolerated at best.

Was she willing to give up all the privileges that came with being prey in Zootopia, to marry this beautiful fox who stood before her? The fox with those bright green eyes that were so full of love and his charming smirk that made her weak in the knees. This was the mammal that filled her heart with joy whenever he was near. He brought her comfort with a single paw and gave her life purpose and meaning. There was only one choice she could make.

Judy placed both hind paws firmly on the ground and her ears rose straight into the air. She fiercely squeezed both of the fox's paws as she spoke the words that would change her life forever, "Yes. Yes I do!"

She would do anything for the mammal that stood before her. He meant everything to her, she would cross any bridge, take on any challenge to be with him, even if it meant living the rest of her life as a predator.

At Judy's final response, the priest stepped back with a nod, "Nick would you please do the honors?"

Nick released Judy's paws and turned to a small polar bear cub who approached bearing a silken pillow in his paws. Delicately mounted on top of the pillow was a small black leather band with a little black box attached. He lifted the collar from its resting place and presented it to the rabbit while the priest continued to speak."

In a well rehearsed tone, the polar bear spoke to Judy, "Please recite after me."

With determination, Judy nodded and lifted her head.

"With this collar, Zootopia welcomes me," stated the bear calmly.

"With this collar," Judy repeated, "Zootopia welcomes me."

Again the bear spoke in a monotone voice, "With this collar, Zootopia celebrates me."

And the rabbit again repeated the bear's words, "With this collar, Zootopia celebrates me."

"With this collar, Zootopia accepts me," the bear finished.

As Judy finished the taming rites with a glint in her eye, Nick placed the collar around her neck and snapped it close, "With this collar, Zootopia accepts me." A green light appeared on the side of the black box, quickly flashed to orange then changed back to green.

Raising a paw into the air the priest continued, "With this collar, Judith Laverne Hopps is now legally an adult predator and thus has the rights to marry her fellow predator, Nicholas Piberius Wilde."

A few cheers could be heard near the back of the great hall, but most of the crowd remained silent as the bear continued, "And thus I declare you Mr. and Mrs. Wilde-Hopps." Nodding to Nick he added, "You may kiss the bride."

Nick lifted both paws to Judy's cheeks and pulled her close as she lifted herself up on her long rabbit paws. The fox closed his eyes and puckered his lips as the rabbit's small pink nose neared.

Now the hall filled with the loud whoops and cheers as the fox and rabbit pressed their lips warmly together. After a few heartbeats the rabbit grabbed the fox's cheeks and pulled him closer as she hungrily tried to devour his lips.

Half of the crowd stopped cheering when Judy's new collar beeped and the light changed to orange.

Unaware of the collar's change, she continued to pull her husband closer in their very passionate kiss. The light continued to darken with each beep until it turned an angry shade of red and Judy suddenly pulled away from her mate.

"Ouch," she declared, rubbing her neck. "That really hurts."

Even to the ears of the fox before her, her words could not be heard over the cheering of hundreds of bunnies, while the predator guests looked on sadly.

Nick's muzzle was full of concern as he wrapped his paws around his bride. Well aware of what just happened he held her close and whispered into her large fluffy ears, "We will just have to take it easy in the bedroom."

[A/N] I thought I should point out that this is not an original idea, I got the main concept from a piece of art work I ran across recently. In fact I think I have seen it before. But today it sparked something in me and I just had to write it down. I also thought I would share it with you. No I don't agree with all of the ideas in this chapter but I did pull a few personal experiences for it.

Last summer I went to a wedding for the son of a family friend, and he was literally so choked up that he could not even read the vows from the card. I thought it was very cute.

For those of you who are following my main story, chapter 2 will post on Friday. The rough draft is complete and is going through the editing process so it will be up very soon.

And yes the polar bear priest is supposed to have a taming collar just like all the rest of the predators, but I could not find a good place to mention his without giving it away too soon.
