Chapter 29: The Truth Comes Out

Miles watched Lucas and Artie as they laughed softly and fed one another popcorn. Across the room Layla and Erika were sitting together as well. They had their heads together and their hands were linked between them. They were having a sibling movie night, but somehow Artie and Erika had been invited over. Miles was a little surprised that Millie wasn't here with Layla as well. He didn't mind the other two. It just wasn't what he had expected for tonight.

If he was being honest with himself, he was a little jealous of the two couples. He wanted someone to hold and laugh with. To make stupid jokes with that nobody but them understood.

The more he thought about it, the more he realized that he had that, sort of. Kyle was that for him. They had stupid jokes that only they understood. Kyle always knew what he was thinking. He knew Kyle better than anyone too. Recently the two had taken another step in their relationship. Something rather unexpected.

Recently, Miles had realized he wasn't straight. After a few weeks of trying to figure things out he had settled on pansexual. He hadn't really told anyone other than Kyle and the guys. Kyle had accidentally let it slip to Noah that he was confused and Noah was actually the one who told him about pansexual. It had made so much sense. He wasn't attracted to gender really. Sara had been the catalyst for this realization. The more he had gotten to know Sara and how vapid and shallow she really was he got less attracted to her. Then New Years happened and Kyle kissed him. It wasn't bad, Miles had kind of liked it. After that he wanted to kiss Kyle again to see if he still felt something for his best friend or if it was a fluke. He wasn't in love with him or anything.

Over the last month the two had been testing the waters. It wasn't anything other than making out. Lots of making out. It usually left Miles frustrated as hell. He tried some groping once, but Kyle quickly shut him down. As long as Jared was in the picture that's all they would do. Kyle had fooled himself into thinking as long as they stayed above the belt it wasn't cheating. Miles didn't mind, it's not like he wanted to date Kyle, he just wanted to relieve some stress. it was bros helping bros that's all.

"Hello earth to Miles?" Lucas said, waving a hand in front of his face.

"Huh?" Miles asked confused.

"Space case much?" Layla asked, laughing.

"The movie is over. Wanna go get some food?" Lucas asked.

"Food yes, I'm always down for that," Miles said jumping up.

"Let's go," Layla said, jumping up, pulling Erika with her.

Lucas held a hand out to Miles. He took it and heaved himself out. Lucas gasped and Miles looked at him confused.

"Is that a hickey?" Lucas asked, pointing at Miles' neck.

Miles slapped a hand over his neck as Layla looked on interested.

"No," Miles said quickly, his ears heating up with embarrassment.

"It is," Artie laughed.

"What did you do? Give it to yourself?" Layla laughed.

"Who's the lucky girl?" Lucas asked, ignoring Layla's comment. He was interested in this now.

"There is no girl," Miles said shaking his head. it wasn't a lie.

"Is it a boy?" Layla asked arching a brow at him.

"Layla, he's straight," Lucas said, turning towards their sister.

"Am I?" MIles asked. Now was a pretty good time to at least clue them in a little bit. Lucas turned to Miles shocked.

"Miles?" Lucas asked.

"Oh my god are you coming out?" Layla asked.

"I've done something thinking and Kyle and Noah helped me realized that I am pansexual," Miles admitted.

"Pansexual?" Layla asked.

"I don't care for gender, I fall for people based on their personalities and how compatible we are. Like with Rion, I didn't care that she was a girl, I loved her for who she was, and then with Sara I couldn't stand her once she really showed her true colors and how vapid she was," Miles replied.

"What when? Why didn't you tell me?" Lucas asked shocked.

"Recently, it started after the wedding. When we went to the ski hill, this guy hit on me and I didn't exactly hate it. Kyle and I got to talking and I've come to realize that maybe I'm not as straight as I thought," Miles shrugged.

"I'm not really surprised, with the way you and Kyle act," Layla said.

"First of all, if you can't act a little gay with your best friend are you even best friends? And secondly I wouldn't talk, look at you and Maleficent," Miles said.

"Ok it's Millicent, and we do not," Layla said.

"Yeah you do," Erika said, making herself known to Layla. Layla turned and looked at her shocked.

"See, thank you Erika," Miles said.

"Ok let's get back on track here, who is this guy you are seeing?" Lucas asked.

"I'm not seeing anyone," Miles said, "I am single."

"Who did you hook up with then?" Lucas asked.

"Lu, don't be a pest," Artie said, cutting Miles off.

"Look it's nothing serious, if I were actually dating someone you would be the second person I told trust me," Miles said.

"Second?" Lucas asked.

"Kyle would obviously be the first person he told," Layla said, causing Lucas to nod his head.

"Ok, Are we done talking about my sex life or lack thereof, can we go get some food now? I am starving," Miles said.

"Me too, let's go," Erika said, tugging on Layla's arm.

The five teens left the house and piled into Artie's car. The three Mitchell siblings arguing about where to eat. A vote was held and Miles' idea of In-N-Out won thanks to Erika and Artie siding with him.

As Layla, Erika, and Artie all ran inside to get food Lucas held Miles back for a minute. Miles arched a brow at him confused. He really did not want to talk about the hickey. Kyle was being careless, but he wasn't going to out his best friend like that. Besides it didn't mean anything.

"You don't have to tell me who you're seeing, but just know you are not worth being anyone's secret. You are amazing and deserve more than being a booty call," Lucas said.

"I am no booty call. I know my worth, it's just...its not like that," Miles said.

"Just be careful. I don't want you getting hurt," Lucas said.

"I will," Miles said. They headed inside together. Layla waved them over as they were next in line.

"Everything ok?" Artie asked.

"Yeah, Lucas is taking his job as a brother very seriously, but my lips are sealed. I don't kiss and tell," Miles said, "anymore." He added after Layla gave him a look.

Soon they ordered their food and sat down at a table. They were all talking and laughing when Miles' phone started ringing. He pulled it out and saw Kyle calling him.

"Speaking of booty calls." He said as he answered his phone and put it on speaker. "Hello you've reached Miles Mitchell, how can I and my booty be of service to you."

"Oh my god," Lucas said, his face turning red as people stared at them. A familiar laugh came through the phone.

"Kyle's your booty call?" Layla asked.

"Totally," Kyle said laughing again.

"I told you I wasn't anyone's booty call," Miles said.

"Why am I making a booty call?" Kyle asked.

"Lucas found out that I might kind of be seeing someone and he went all big brother on me and told me I am worth more than being a booty call," Miles explained.

"And then you called and it was perfect timing," Lucas added.

"So who am I talking to?" Kyle asked.

"Well you've got the Mitchell/King brood minus Lilly of course, and their significant others," Miles said.

"Why are you so weird?" Kyle asked.

"He was probably dropped on his head," Lucas said. "He means that Layla, Artie, and Erika are here too. Say hi guys."

"Hi guys!" Erika and Artie said at the same time. They shared and looked and laughed together.

"Well I was just calling to see if Miles was available to kill some zombies, but I can see he's busy," Kyle said.

"Yeah we decided to make a food run but maybe later," Miles said.

"You mean to tell me you are alone with your smokin hot boyfriend and you are bored?" Artie asked.

"I like your thinking, but like we already did that like four times," Kyle said.

"Ew no more," Layla said.

"I wanna hear more," Erika said.

"Oh I forgot you were there Layla," Kyle said surprised, "and this isn't freebies Erika, it's more a quid pro quo thing."

"I'm game," Erika said.

"I'm not," Layla said.

"Don't be such a stick in the mud Layla," Kyle said.

"What's got you all jumpy," Miles asked looking at Layla confused.

"Oh my god you two had sex!" Kyle exclaimed.

"Not exactly, but close," Erika said grinning.

"What?" Miles asked shocked.

"Stop!" Layla said, her face going red. She looked around at people. No one seemed to be paying them any mind right now.

"Are we talking second or third?" Kyle asked.

Layla shot Erika a glare. Erika looked torn as she thought about her next words carefully.

"Who are you talking to?" Jared was heard in the background.

"Miles and company," Kyle replied.

"And company?" Jared asked, "are you talking about our sex life?"

"No?" Kyle questioned.

"Oh my god, stop," Jared said.

"Sorry Erika, I'm not allowed to spill any more details. You can thank Jared for that. He's kind of a prude," Kyle said.

"I'm not a prude, you of all people should know that," Jared said.

"You Knights talk about sex so casually," Lucas said shaking his head.

"It's not the end of the world. We were raised in a sex positive environment and taught not to be scared of a saying penis and vagina," Kyle replied.

"Versus me, where Papi was scared to teach me those words at first," Layla said.

"Anyways I gotta go. Erika, we definitely need to hang out more. Miles, text me later and we can kill some zombies then," Kyle said.

"No you don't," Layla said, shaking her head causing Kyle and Erika to laugh.

"Say bye," Miles said to everyone. Everyone said goodbye to Kyle and he hung up.

Noah yawned as he watched another YouTube cooking video. He was trying to learn more about cooking so he and Roldy didn't have to order out so much. It had become his next mission in life.

Roldy was currently in bed. They had ordered out and had a silent dinner. Roldy had been quiet all night. He was still hurting over losing the baby. Noah didn't blame him. They had been so excited about starting a family only for it to be ripped away from them. Noah was hurting too.

A knock at the door interrupted his thoughts. He jumped up pausing his video. He answered the door and saw Matt standing there.

"Hey Matty, what's up?" He stepped aside for him to enter the apartment.

"Penelope kicked me out and I'm not sure why. I figured I'd give her time to calm down before I head back," Matt said.

"Sounds smart," Noah said.

"Where's Ro?" Matt asked, looking around.

"He went to bed," Noah said.

The two walked over to the couch. Noah sat down and looked at his lap. Matt day down beside him.

"He's taking it really hard," Noah said softly.

"I can't imagine what he's going through. If Pen lost the baby, I can't even imagine," Matt said shaking his head. "Pen feels awful too. She said she feels like she's flaunting it in your faces."

"No, she's not. She can't help it," Noah said quickly.

"That's what I told her, but she still wants to apologize," Matt said.

"She's got nothing to apologize for. These things happen and Ro's mom had a hard time getting pregnant with Ro. It will happen when it's meant to happen," Noah said.

"I know that, but still she feels weird around you guys now," Matt sighed.

"I feel weird around her too," Noah admitted.

The two lapsed into silence. Noah looked down at the coffee table before him. Roldy's words from earlier ringing in his head right now.

"It's not fair. They didn't even want a baby, and we did. I did everything right, this is so unfair."

Noah couldn't get that thought out of his head all of a sudden. While it was somewhat true, he had no right to blame them for his misfortune. It's not like they had planned this. He needed to talk about something else, before he said something he would regret.

"So," Noah said trying to change the subject, "What did Penelope get mad at?"

"I'm not sure, we were talking about whether we wanted to move to a bigger apartment, or a small house," Matt said slowly.

"Let me guess you don't want to buy a house yet," Noah said, smirking.

"Not really no, I mean what if we break up or something?" Matt asked, panicking.

"Do you wanna break up?" Noah asked.

"What? No!" Matt said quickly, "but like what if I mess up and she breaks up with me?"

"You are self sabotaging again," Noah said.

"I am not," Matt protested. He paused and thought about it for a moment before he sighed. "Maybe I am," he admitted softly.

"I know you are, but you have nothing to be afraid of Matty," Noah said.

"What if we buy a house and then it ruins everything?" Matt asked.

"You'll never know if you never try," Noah said. "You have to stop living in fear. Penelope isn't going anywhere. She loves you and is having your baby."

"It's hard, when every other life experience I've had is screaming for me not to do this," Matt said.

"That is why you have to do this," Noah said quickly.

"I don't think that's how it works," Matt said.

"Yes it is, you can't base all your experience on your failed relationship with Gabby and your sisters mistakes," Noah said.

"I hate it when you're right," Matt sighed.

"It's hard being the smartest person in the room sometimes," Noah said. Matt smacked his arm playfully causing Noah to laugh at his own wit.

"You're so full of yourself Rodgers," Matt said.

"It's Harrison now," Noah reminded him.

"Oh shit that's right, sorry," Matt said quickly as he realized his mistake.

"It's ok, it's still new to me too," Noah admitted.

"Buy the house Matthew."

The pair turned as Roldy entered the room. He walked over to the couch and leaned over it.

"Hello to you too Ro," Matt said.

"Penelope is trying to tell you she's ready for the next step. She wants to make a life with you," Roldy said.

"I know, but I'm scared," Matt said.

"That's natural. I was scared to ask Noah to marry me, but look how that turned out. I was even scared to let Jared move out because then it would only be the two of us here, but so far things aren't too bad," Roldy said.

"Same, it's only been like a month and I'm just worried we are gonna mess this up," Noah said smiling up at Roldy. "But I am willing to try, because I love this man and I know we can make it through this and figure things out together."

"Don't go getting all sappy on me," Matt said.

"Go buy Penelope her favorite treat and t at least tell her that you are at least open to the idea," Roldy said.

"Fine," Matt said as he stood up. "But if I don't show up at the studio tomorrow she maimed me."

"We will keep that in mind," Noah laughed.

Matt said his goodbyes and left. Noah arched a brow at Roldy. Roldy walked around the couch. He sat down in front of Noah.

"I think I'm getting better at the whole put on a brave face thing," Roldy said.

Noah simply pulled Roldy close. He rested his head on top of his. Roldy just let him hold him.

-Happy Mistakes-

Jake looked around the waiting room. Camille was sitting in the corner with Steve trying to hold it together. She was a mess right now. She kept jumping to all the bad conclusions, just like Jake. Kendall and James were with them trying to convince her that everything was going to be ok, but they didn't sound sure. Adam was sitting beside Jake, trying to distract him. It was half working, but they would both stop talking to check the time. Adam was getting anxious and unable to sit completely still. Jake knew Adam was worried too. Damien was his best friend after all.

Damien was still in surgery. It had been almost six hours now. He was starting to get worried. Camille has asked for information on Damien and a nurse had told her surgeries this long were pretty standard for internal injuries, that the surgeons were doing everything they could to help. They wouldn't say much else.

Adam shifted in his seat once more. Jake glanced over at him. Adam's unease made him feel uneasy. Jake took a deep breath and looked down at his lap. He had to calm down. Worrying wasn't doing anyone any good. He closed his eyes and tried to relax. All he could hear was the ticking of the clock above him. It seemed like it was getting louder and louder as the silence dragged on. This wasn't relaxing, the opposite actually.

"How long has it been?" Adam asked looking up at the clock, breaking the silence that had fallen over them.

"Ten minutes since you asked last time," Jake replied.

"Sorry," Adam said. He looked down at the ground. He bit his lip.

They had run out of things to talk about. Jake has been scared of that. That meant all they had time to think about was Damien. His mind was running to every worse case scenario. The silence in the room wasn't helping either. It allowed his imagination to run loose. There was nothing left to distract him.

"Jake," James said, walking over to him. "Let's go for a little walk."

"Pops-" Jake started. James gave him a look, that left no room for argument. "Sure."

The two exited the small waiting room. Jake didn't miss as Adam jumped up and moved over to sit next to Camille. It was no secret that he was closer with her than Jake was.

James led Jake down the hallway. He seemed unsure of what to say. Jake just followed him. He didn't want to talk right now. As they walked Jake felt calmer than he had before. He was able to think clearly. He knew that Logan was the surgeon working on Damien, and that he would never let anything bad happen to him. Suddenly Jake knew why James made him take a walk.

"Pops," Jake said as they approached a vending machine.

"Want some water?" James asked arching a brow in silent question.

"Yeah, and thanks," Jake said nodding his head.

"I could see you were driving yourself crazy," James said.

"Thanks for knowing what I needed before I even knew," Jake said as they bought a few more water bottles for the others.

"It's what dads are for," James said, placing a hand on Jake's shoulder. "I get that you are worried, but they've got amazing surgeons here, Damien is in good hands."

"I know," Jake said nodding his head. "Logan would never let anything bad happen if he could help it."

"Logan?" James asked confused.

"Oh yeah, Logan was the last available surgeon here when we got here," Jake said.

"Then you know he will do everything in his power to help Damien," James said.

The two headed back to the waiting room. Adam was hugging Camille who was crying again. Steve just looked defeated. Jake took a water bottle from James and walked over to Camille.

"Camille," Jake said, walking up to her. "Here, it will help replace what you put out." He said with a small smile.

Camille looked up at him surprised for a moment before she started laughing. She jumped up and hugged him being mindful of his ribs.

"Thank you," she said, taking the water. "I needed that."

"He's gonna be ok, Logan won't let anything bad happen," Jake said.

"Thanks Jake," Camille said.

"And you're right, I would never let anything happen to any of you kids."

Jake turned around. Logan was standing in the doorway. His scrubs were messy and he looked tired.

"Logan Mitchell you better have good news," Camille screeched as she ran up to him. Jake and Steve were close behind her.

"He's stable and on his way to the ICU," Logan said.

"But?" Steve asked sensing there was more to this.

"He's lost a lot of blood and he's gonna need a blood transfusion," Logan said.

"I'll do it!" Camille said quickly.

"You can't," Steve said, shaking his head.

"Like hell I can't. That's my baby-" Camille started.

"Camille you're anemic," Steve said he turned to Logan. "I'll do it."

"It's a little more complicated than that. Blood compatibility is complicated. What's your blood type? Anyone else willing to try?" Logan asked.

"A negative, that's my baby. I will help," Camille said.

"O neg, universal donor," Adam said, putting his hand up.

"AB positive," Steve said.

"Damien's O negative," Jake and Adam said together. Jake looked at Adam confused.

"Day and I are both O negative. That's why we call ourselves blood brothers," Adam explained. "I can totally do it."

"Dr. Mitchell!"

Logan turned as one of his colleagues ran up to him. Logan excused himself from the group. He told them to figure out who was gonna donate.

"Jess, what's wrong," Logan asked, making sure they were out of earshot of the others. He was half worried something was wrong with Damien.

"Your husband is here," She said lowly. "He's in the ER and he's looking for you."

"What? Is he ok?" Logan asked

"He got injured on set and now he's looking for you. He's kind of panicking," she said.

"Is Jacobi still here?" Logan asked. She nodded her head. "Tell him I'm cashing in on my favor. He will know what it means. Ask him to just keep Carlos busy for a few minutes, or bring him up here. I've got a patient I'm tending to."

"Got it."

Logan headed back to the others. They were all talking amongst themselves. Kendall noticed him first. Kendall arched a brow in silent questioning. Logan shook his head.

"Everything ok?" Kendall asked.

"Yeah, Carlos is down in the ER, I guess he got hurt," Logan said, "I asked her to send Dr. Jacobi after him."

"So back to Damien," Jake said, cutting off Kendall's next question about Carlos.

"I can do it, he is my son and I am gonna help," Camille said.

"Simmer down mama bear," Logan chuckled. "You're A negative right? A negative can only give to A blood types, sorry. Also Steve said you are anemic which rules you again."

"Steve, O negative," Logan said pointing to him.

"I'm O negative," Adam said, putting his hand up.

"AB positive," Steve reminded him.

"Right," Logan said slowly. He looked between Camille and Steve for a moment. Red flags were going off in his head. Something wasn't adding up correctly.

"What's with the look?" Steve asked.

"Damien is O negative?" Logan asked confused. It was like a red light went off in his head. He turned to Camille, who seemed to be on the same page as him. She opened her mouth to speak but was cut off.

"Logie!"

"Logan I am so sorry."

Logan turned as Dr. Jacobi entered the room with Carlos. He had a black eye, a taped up nose and stitches across his cheek. He looked high and confused.

"What happened?" Logan asked running up to his husband. Carlos seemed unsteady on his feet. James was with Logan as they took the Latino from Dr. Jacobi. He seemed to be in a daze. He eagerly greeted James with some giggles.

"I think I fell," Carlos slurred.

"I can see that," Logan said giving him a once over.

"I was looking for you but they kept telling me you were in surgery and I thought why is he in surgery? Is he hurt? But then I membered you did the slicing," Carlos giggled.

"What did they give you?" Logan asked, looking at Dr. Jacobi. James took Carlos over to a chair and distracted him.

"James? When did you get here?" Carlos asked as he sat down.

"Well, from what I gather he got injured on set doing a stunt. He doesn't remember exactly what happened. He's got the cuts, bruises, a broken nose, and possibly concussion by the looks of it. I didn't have time to look at his chart. By the time I got to him that had already given him Ativan for his panic attack, tramadol for the pain, and lidocaine for his cheek for the stitches, so he can't really feel his face," Dr. Jacobi said, "he is as legally high as he can be right now."

"Thanks," Logan said.

"I'm really sorry," Dr. Jacobi said.

"I mean if I had a patient having a panic attack and getting restless I would give ativan too," Logan said.

"I've got to get back down there, it's still chaos from that accident," Dr. Jacobi said as he made a hasty exit.

"Carlos, buddy what happened?" James asked.

Carlos looked up at James shocked. "James? When did you get here? Where did Logan go?"

"Kendall, get his phone and call Emily. She will know what happened. James, do not let him fall asleep. Adam, come with me," Logan said, turning back to him. He looked at Camille. She was staring at him, waiting for him to speak. "I'll deal with you later," he said, holding a finger up at her. He just shook his head and walked away with Adam.

Kendall and James set about trying to get Carlos to give them his phone. He put up a fight. Stave turned to Camille confused.

"What did he mean by that?" Steve asked.

"Pardon me if I'm wrong, but I was taught in biology that parents who are AB positive and A negative can't have a child with any O blood type," Jake said staring at Camille.

Steve stood there staring at Camille confused. Jake could see him working it out in his head. Suddenly, it all clicked. His jaw floundered as no words came out. Kendall and James watched in shock, having heard Jake's comment. Neither of them had successfully wrestled Carlos' phone from him.

"Camille?" He finally spoke.

"Ok look-" Camille started.

"Oh my god," Steve said, backing away from his wife.

"It's not what you think-" Camille said slowly.

"You lied," Steve cut her off. He opened his mouth and closed it. Anger coming off him in waves. Jake took a step back towards Kendall and James. "I need to take a walk." Without another word he left. Camille stood there a moment before she ran after him, tears in her eyes.

"Where are they going?" Carlos asked, confused.

"Oh buddy, you are lucky that you are not gonna remember any of this," James sighed.

"Did you know?" Jake asked, turning to Kendall and James.

"No," Kendall and James said quickly.

"Well when she first got pregnant we thought he might be," Kendall admitted.

"But they took a paternity test," James said.

"I guess she lied," Kendall said slowly. The news was still sinking in.

"Who lied?" Carlos asked.

"I'm gonna let Logan tell you that, when you're not concussed and high," James replied.

"Makes sense," Carlos said, nodding his head.

"Can I borrow your phone? Mine is dead," James said. Carlos dug his phone from his pocket and handed it over to James. James swiped up and turned to Carlos face and it unlocked.

"That was easy, why didn't you start with that?" Kendall asked, taking the phone from James.

"Didn't think of it until now," James replied with a shrug.

-Happy Mistakes-

Kyle laughed as he tossed a handful of popcorn at Jared. They had been trying to catch popcorn from the other. Kyle had changed tactics and threw a handful at the older male causing him to duck and laugh as well.

"Did it work?" Kyle asked.

"A little," Jared said as he munched on the few pieces of popcorn in his mouth.

The two had finally ate their supper after a couple steamy round of sex in the bedroom and the shower. They were currently sitting in the living room watching a movie and eating popcorn. Kyle had grown bored with the movie. It had become his mission to get popcorn in Jared's mouth, but he was a terrible shot.

"I think we found the one thing you're bad at," Jared said.

"What's that?" Kyle asked.

"Throwing popcorn, you suck," Jared teased.

Kyle grabbed another handful and chucked it at him. Jared ducked as he laughed. Kyle then turned back to the movie, trying to ignore the older man. Jared leaned over and rested his chin on his shoulder.

"You can't be good at everything," Jared laughed, "don't be grumpy."

"Too late," Kyle said looking away from him.

Jared brought his hand up to Kyle's side and gently nudged the spot he knew was ticklish. Kyle squirmed away from the hand, fighting back a laugh. He turned on Jared and went for his knee, his ticklish spot. Soon the two were on the floor wrestling and laughing.

"Truce!" Jared wheezed as he scooted away from the young blonde, with his hands up.

"You started it," Kyle said, putting his hands up to show he agreed.

He scooted back over to Jared. They ended up sitting on the floor with their backs to the couch. Jared looked to the TV where the movie had ended. He didn't remember much of the movie. One glance at Kyle told him he was thinking the same thing.

"It's getting late, and you've got school in the morning," Jared said, checking the time on his phone.

"You sound like my dad," Kyle said.

"Shut your mouth," Jared said, smacking Kyle's arm playfully.

Kyle just threw his head back laughing. He loved how simple things were with Jared. He could be himself and not worry. He was comfortable with him. Things felt right. In the back of his mind was the nagging feeling about Miles and what they had been doing behind Jared's back.

Ever since New Years, they had kind of had a thing going on. Kyle wasn't sure what to call it. They made out a few times, once it had gone a little further to groping below the belt, but other than that it was strictly above the belt. It wasn't cheating. It was Miles, his best friend. It wasn't anything serious. They were just having fun.

"Come on let's go to bed," Jared said holding a hand out to the blonde.

Kyle looked up at him. He hadn't even realized that Jared had stood up. He allowed Jared to pull him to his feet. Kyle gathered the popcorn from the couch. He disposed of it as Jared shut everything off. They met up again at the bottom of the stairs. Jared led Kyle up to his bedroom.

Kyle watched Jared as he started to undress. Any thought he had about Miles was gone. He bit his lip as he watched him. Sure they had had sex earlier, but Kyle would never not get turned on when Jared stripped. Jared sensing eyes on him turned and looked at the blonde. He chuckled and shook his head at Kyle.

"Didn't you get enough earlier," Jared asked.

"Of you? Never," Kyle replied, walking up to him. He placed his hands on his hips. "You always turn me on. I can't help it," he said.

"Stop, I'm tired," Jared said.

"We don't have to, I just can't help it," Kyle said as he leaned in and pecked Jared on the lips.

"How did I get so lucky as to find someone like you?" Jared asked.

"You mean unlucky?" Kyle asked as he took a few steps away. He started to strip down to his underwear. "I'm super stubborn and selfish at times. I'm also very spacey and always busy except for tonight, so don't get used to it."

"I meant lucky, you're not perfect Kyle and that's what I love about you," Jared said smiling at the blonde. "Besides I can be selfish and stubborn too."

"You've got me so high up on this pedestal, I'm nothing special," Kyle said shaking his head.

"You're special to me," Jared replied, walking over to the blonde. He placed his arms on his shoulders. "Falling in love isn't about finding someone perfect. It's seeing someone who's imperfect perfectly."

"You're such a sap," Kyle said smiling. As content as he was with Jared, he didn't understand what the older man saw in him.

"Yeah, but I'm your sap," Jared said. Kyle laughed and shook his head. Jared leaned in and kissed him. Kyle sighed happily into the kiss. It just felt right.

-Happy Mistakes-

Camille sighed as she looked down at her feet. She was sitting on a bench outside the hospital with Steve. The yelling was over at least, mostly because Steve didn't know what to say anymore. He had yelled so much and cried. Camille cried too.

She had never meant to hurt him. That was why she had told him he was the father. She remembered that day so perfectly. He had been so happy when she told him he was the father and not Logan. She hadn't even meant to do that, it had just slipped out. She had been planning on telling the truth, but when she saw how scared Logan was and how anxious Steve was, it just slipped out. There was no taking it back after that. She thought about it a lot during the early years, but after a certain point she just pushed it away and vowed to never tell anyone. There was only two people she had ever told and she had dirt on them

Steve was now looking anywhere but at her. She didn't blame him either. This was a big secret to keep. Over twenty one years and she had been in the clear. She had forgotten all about it until Logan had figured it our. Stupid blood types.

"I don't get it," Steve sighed. It was the first thing he had said in awhile. Camille glanced over at him. He was still looking away from her.

"I am so sorry," Camille said.

"I can't—I don't—I just," Steve sighed. He looked down at the ground. "After all these years Camille. Damien is all grown up."

"It doesn't change anything. He's still your son. You raised him," Camille said.

"You lied to Logan. You took his son away and for what? So we could be the perfect family? So you wouldn't have to share him with another couple? I didn't think you were that selfish," Steve accused.

"It's not like that," Camille said.

"Oh please, that's exactly it isn't it. You never wanted to share your baby with him. From the day you and I got together you were trying to spite Logan," Steve said shaking his head.

"At first yes," Camille admitted. She blinked back her tears. "That's why I broke up with you the first time. It wasn't fair to you for me to be pining after someone else, but when Logan and I tried again it was weird and awkward. It was then that I realized what I had with you was real."

"Was it? It doesn't feel real to me," Steve said.

"It is," Camille said, grabbing his hand. "I love you."

Steve jerked his hand away. Camille bit her lip as she watched him struggle with his next words.

"I don't know right now," Steve said.

"That's fair," Camille sighed. "I never wanted to hurt you, or Logan." She said.

"Where do we go from here?" Steve asked. He kept his gaze trained away from her.

She deserved this. She had to press on though. He needed to know why she did what she did. Maybe it might make things better, maybe it would make them worse, but she had to tell her side of the story.

"That day, when I got the results. I had accepted it. I so badly wanted you to be the father, but things happen. Then Logan showed up and he was a wreck, and you showed up so happy to be a dad. I don't know what came over me, but I said Saunders. I regretted it the second I said it, but the way you both reacted...I couldn't take it back. Logan was relieved and you were so happy," she said. Tears were slipping down her cheeks. "I knew I had to tell the truth, but everything happened so quickly and then Damien was six months old and like...every scenario I played out turned out bad. You leaving or Logan taking him from me. I just...I couldn't do it."

"You never should have lied in the first place. Now everything…it just feels wrong," Steve sighed.

"Yeah, we can't go back now," Camille said.

"You never told anyone," Steve asked as he watched cars drive by.

"Two people," Camille said, "Jo figured everything out right away, but I knew about Penelope and we agreed to keep the others secret."

"And?" Steve asked.

"And what, we knew each other's secrets. We weren't going to tell anyone," Camille said.

"I meant and who else knew," Steve asked, finally turning to look at her.

"Well you see…" Camille started slowly. There wasn't any easy way to say this.

-Happy Mistakes-

Logan was getting Damien and Adam set up for a direct transfusion. Jake had joined them once Logan made sure that Adam was able to donate. Logan had thought Camille would come with as well, but her and Steve were gone. No one would look at him either. They had to know what he knew. Damien still hadn't woken up from surgery, which was a good thing.

"So," Jake said slowly.

"What?" Adam asked, confused as he watched Logan work.

"Not you," Jake said. Logan glanced over at him. "Are we gonna address the elephant in the room?" he asked.

"What?" Adam asked.

"She told you?" Logan asked shocked. He was working on getting Damien ready for the transfusion.

"No, but it doesn't take a genius to figure it out," Jake said.

"Figure what out?" Adam asked confused.

"It's not really my place to say," Jake said, turning his attention to Damien. He was still oblivious to the world around him.

"No, no you can't do that and then leave me hanging," Adam said, moving to stand.

"Sit," Logan said, shoving him back down. "Needle in arm."

"Right sorry," Adam said looking down at the needle in his arm.

"Let's just say parents with AB positive, and A positive blood types can in no way whatsoever have a child with O negative blood type," Logan said once he finished setting everything up. He turned to Adam and waited for the piece to click. He saw the lightbulb go off. "Do not tell Damien. That is for Steve and Camille to decide," he said sternly.

"I would never-" Adam started.

"You would too," Logan said, "but I mean it. Do not say a word, either of you."

"Why not? He deserves to know the truth," Jake said.

"Yes, and it would be better coming from his parents, not you two," Logan said.

"He's right Jake," Adam said.

Jake looked down at Damien before nodding his head. He knew Logan was right.

"Now I have to go, I've been here for like sixteen hours and I'm tired. Adam, sit still, and don't pull on anything, another nurse will be in here soon to check on things," Logan said. Both boys nodded their heads.

Logan left and headed to the nurses station. He stopped to give off a report on Damien to the doctor on the floor. He also told him he was leaving since he had been there all day.

Logan looked in the direction of the waiting room. He then turned and walked to the elevator. He wanted to go change and leave. He also didn't want to deal with Camille right now.

Once he was in the locker room he fell onto a bench. He suddenly realized just how tired he was. His body ached and his head hurt. He wanted nothing more than to crawl into bed and sleep for a week. That wasn't going to happen anytime soon. He still had to go get Carlos and bring him home. He wasn't sure how Carlos was handling the news, or if he knew. The real question was would he remember this all tomorrow.

It took all of his will power, but he managed to change from his scrubs. He was about to leave when Dr. Jacobi walked in. He looked at Logan shocked.

"Still here?"

"Just leaving," Logan said, holding up his bag.

"Fee free to take tomorrow off, you did enough today. You saved that boy and got him a blood donation I heard," Dr. Jacobi said.

"Well he's the son of a family friend," Logan said slowly.

"Why do I feel like there's something more to it," Dr. Jacobi asked.

"It's complicated, but he's my nephew's husband and he might actually be my son but like I'm still in denial and Camille hasn't said it out loud yet, so I'm pretending it's not real," Logan admitted.

"Your son?" Jacobi asked.

"Camille and I had a thing before Carlos and I started dating and she and Steve got together. Soon she was pregnant and the timeline was iffy and we took a paternity test when Damien was born and she swore up and down that Damien was Steve's," Logan explained.

"But?" Dr. Jacobi asked.

"But Camille is A negative and Steve is AB positive and Damien it O negative," Logan said slowly.

"Wow, sounds complicated. Feel free to take a day or two as needed," Dr. Jacobi said.

Logan nodded his head. He said his goodbyes before heading back up to the ICU. He took a deep breath before he entered the waiting room. Steve and Camille were nowhere to be seen. Maybe that was a good thing. Kendall and James were sitting with Carlos trying to keep him awake and occupied. Kendall jumped up once he saw him. Logan didn't like the look he was giving him.

"Did you know?" Kendall asked.

"Seriously? You think I knew?" Logan asked incredulously.

"I don't know, maybe," Kendall said.

"No, I am just as shocked as you are. She swore up and down that he was Steve's son," Logan said.

"Does Carlos know?" Logan asked.

"Hard to tell, he's too out of his mind right now. Besides I don't think he would remember anyways," Kendall said glancing over at the Latino.

"Did you get a hold of Emily?" Logan asked.

"Yeah, she said he was doing a bike stunt and on the last take he lost control and hit the ground hard," Kendall said.

"Let me guess, no helmet," Logan said.

"Nope, the scene was specifically worded for him to not wear one, or was his last take and they needed him to take his helmet off," Kendall said.

"Figures the last fall is the worst," Logan replied, shaking his head.

"Yeah, so are you going? I haven't seen or heard from Camille and Steve in awhile," Kendall said.

"Oh I'm sure they have a lot they need to talk about," Logan said. He paused as he looked over at Carlos. He wondered what tomorrow was gonna be like. He knew that he had to tell Carlos, but right now he wouldn't remember. This was a conversation they were going to have to have tomorrow. "I know he probably won't wake up tonight but…"

"Don't worry it's not our place to say anything," Kendall assured him. "That is up to Camille and Steve."

"Exactly," Logan said nodding his head.

Logan walked over to Carlos who was leaning on James. James nudged the Latino. Carlos looked up with a smile.

"What happened, are you ok?" Logan asked.

"I fell, I think," Carlos replied.

"Yeah Kendall told me," Logan said as he took a seat next to Carlos. He was exhausted and wanted to rest for a minute.

"How long have you been working?" Carlos asked as Logan leaned against him.

"Too long," Logan replied tired.

Kendall and James joined them. The four sat in silence, which was unusual for them. Logan did not mind the silence right now. He was still in shock over everything. He had not been expecting that at all. Camille had sworn up and down that day that Steve was the father. He had asked her a few times and her answer never changed, and he never got the impression that she was lying.

"So," Kendall said slowly.

"Not right now Kendall," Logan said, not opening his eyes. He didn't want to talk. He wanted to sleep.

"Logie," Carlos said softly.

"Yes Carlos," Logan said, still not sitting up. He was resting for the first time all day. He was sure Carlos wanted to go home, but he needed a minute.

"Why is everyone so surprised about Damien being your son? Didn't Camille tell you? Cause she told me," Carlos said slowly.

Logan sat up and turned to face his husband. Kendall and James looked on equally shocked. Logan's mouth floundered. Kendall and James were equally at a loss for words.
