Hollowsong: Thank you for the very interesting character! I have so many OCs now, I won't be needing more for a while. And to everyone who racked their brains for a character: you lifted me out of my writer's block, so thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Ember felt a nudge in her side, and reflexively sprang out of her bed. "Hey," said East. "We're leaving."
"Okay," said Ember. Finally, East jerked his head to a hole in the wall. "Over there." Ember nodded and followed him out of the den.
"I'm planning to see an old… friend," he said hesitantly. "If you don't mind?" Ember smiled.
"East, you should know by now that this is your journey, not mine." East looked concerned.
"Well, it's just around this corner. Everyone lives close together, for fear of smooth-pelts. Oh, and two twin dogs that come around occasionally. We named them Ripper and Reaper." He chuckled.
"Do you have a den?" inquired Ember.
"Well…this sector is my home, I suppose. But I don't have a den, no." East pushed aside a sheet of metal, revealing a hole in the wall.
He entered, Ember following closely behind. Ember scanned the dark Twoleg den. East started speaking.
"Anybody here?" He yowled. Behind a stack of empty cardboard boxes, a sleek white cat emerged. She had beautiful azure eyes and an innocent expression.
"Hello, Mink." said East, shuffling his paws.
"Hello, Eastbound." She replied, with a voice as sweet as her demeanor. "Why are you here?" Ember could hear the unspoken words.
Why are you here with her? "I, uh, just wanted to drop by," he muttered.
"Oh, really? Where are you headed?" East stared at the ceiling.
"Nowhere in particular." Mink smiled.
"Then would I be able to come along?"
"Of course," he replied.
