Chapter 41: Almost Loved You
Damien made his way across the quad towards Cooper. He sat down across from the other man.
"Hey Day," Cooper greeted him without looking up from his computer.
"Hey, how are you and Adam? Haven't seen you two in a while," Damien said as he pulled his own computer out.
"Good, just been busy. I am getting ready for the LSAT and it's so nerve wracking," Cooper said.
"You got this, you'll make a great lawyer too, dad says you're a great paralegal already," Damien said.
"Yeah, I am so thankful he got me that job too," Cooper said.
"Yeah, he's waiting for you to get into law school so he can take you on as his associate," Damien said.
"I know, I just have to pass this damn test," Cooper said with a frown.
"You can do it, just relax, you know all this," Damien said.
"Cooper!"
Cooper looked up as Rina crossed the quad excitedly. She was holding an ultrasound picture. She waved it at him. Cooper chuckled and took it from her.
"She's getting so big, and right on track," Rina said excitedly, "you have to show me your guys after your next appointment."
"What?" Damien asked, making himself known to Rina. She glanced up at him shocked. "Is Adam pregnant again?"
"What no! We're not that stupid," Cooper said quickly. "However, I am stupid enough to get pregnant because we were focusing on not getting Adam pregnant again I never considered it."
"How! Adam told me you guys were in a dry spell," Damien said.
"What doesn't he tell you?" Cooper asked, annoyed.
"That you're pregnant apparently," Damien said miffed. He pulled his phone out and called Adam on speaker.
"Hello?"
"Addaline Spencer Knight," Damien said simply.
"Cooper told you didn he?" Adam asked.
"No Rina did and I'm hurt," Damien said.
"Stop, I was gonna tell you tonight when I got off work. I need yours and Jake's help with something," Adam said. "Besides we've only known for like a week, Rina only knows because Blaine was there when we found out."
"You've known for a week and haven't told me? Are we even best friends anymore?" Damien asked dramatically, earning giggles from Rina.
"Shut up," Adam said.
"I told him not to tell anyone, and I'm surprised he hasn't told you yet," Cooper said.
"It's been killing me, but I haven't seen you in over a week either so it's been kinda hard to tell you," Adam said.
"Still, I should be the first person you tell," Damien said.
"Yes Day, I won't make that mistake again, I promise, you are right after Cooper," Adam laughed.
"Good, now get back to work, someone's gotta bring home the bacon for your kids," Damien said.
"I'm trying," Adam laughed. He hung up after that.
"You are so dramatic you know that," Cooper said.
"Oh, like Adam wouldn't do the same to him," Rina said.
"He would be worse, he's an actor," Damien said.
"Yeah he would," Cooper agreed.

Kyle was laying back on the couch with his head in Jared's lap. Jared had the day off and Kyle had ditched the studio today. If Kendall could ditch to be with James, then Kyle could ditch to be with Jared. They were just relaxing and watching trashy tv. Kyle was content to stay like this all evening.
"I am glad to have this place back to ourselves," Jared said as he ran a hand through Kyle's hair.
Kendall and James had moved into Logan and Carlos' condo taking Jenny and Leora with them while the house was being remodeled. Kyle was glad to have helped them out when they needed it, but it was nice to have some privacy again.
"Yeah, it's quiet again," Kyle said, his eyes slipping shut as Jared lightly scratched his scalp.
"So," Jared said slowly.
"Hmm?" Kyle hummed.
"I know you hate when I do this, but your dads are making me ask," Jared said.
"College again?" Kyle asked, not opening his eyes. Kendall had been hounding him about school again. "I've applied to UCLA. I was waitlisted."
"Oh, have you told your dads?" Jared asked
"No cause they will push me to apply elsewhere and I don't wanna do that. I only applied to appease them," Kyle said, finally opening his eyes as Jared's hand slipped from his head.
"Do you want to go to college?" Jared asked.
"I don't know, I'm already doing something I love," Kyle shrugged.
"I know you're doing me, but you can't just mooch off me for the rest of your life," Jared joked.
"Ha ha," Kyle said sarcastically. He sat up and turned to face the older man on his knees. "I meant making music, but I could totally mooch off you, unless you're gonna kick me out."
"I would never, I like you too much to get rid of you," Jared replied.
"Only like?" Kyle asked.
"You're kind of annoying sometimes," Jared teased. Kyle pouted and scooted away. Jared grabbed his wrist and pulled him close. "But you make me laugh, you feed me, you put up with my shit, you treat me like I'm special when I know I'm not. If that isn't love I don't know what is."
"Nice save," Kyle snorted, "and you are special to me."
"I do love you, even if you get on my last nerve sometimes," Jared said.
"Yeah?" Kyle asked, leaning in closer. "I love you too."
Jared grinned and pecked the blonde on the lips. Kyle smiled as he shifted so he was sitting beside the older man. He rested his head on his shoulder.
"So Prom is next weekend," Kyle said casually
"Wanna have a movie night instead?" Jared asked, "we could watch all those lame prom romcoms and make fun of them."
"As much as I would love to do that, Miles and Leora insist that I go," Kyle sighed.
"Ok, then how about Friday we have the marathon," Jared asked.
"Yes, get me in the mood for prom," Kyle laughed.
"It's a date then," Jared said.
"A date? You wanna take me on a date? Oh no what will I wear? Are we gonna have dinner? Do I have to get dressed up? Are we riding together or should I meet you there?" Kyle said, as he sat up in a fake panic.
"Shut up," Jared laughed, shoving the blonde.
"Oh, what if you don't like the way I eat, or my laugh is obnoxious during the movies, what if-" Kyle started.
Jared silenced him with a kiss. Kyle pulled back with a chuckle.
"Don't make me regret asking you on a date now," Jared said. Kyle laughed as he settled back against him.
"Sorry, I'll behave," Kyle chuckled.
"That's a lie and you know it," Jared laughed.
"Yeah, but can we focus, I need to know who called in on Teesha and why Rob wants a divorce from Karen when they've only been married for like two months," Kyle said gesturing to the TV and the trashy reality show they were watching.
"You know it was Rob who called in on Teesha. He wants the kids for himself, it's baseless," Jared said shaking his head. "Also Karen is a total Karen and it's about time Rob realized that."
"No way, he left Teesha for that trash. He should be miserable," Kyle said.
"Yeah but Karen's been threatening divorce this whole time. I doubt they actually will get divorced. They love the drama," Jared added.
"Jessica is the calm one this time, and that's saying something," Kyle said.
They settled together to watch the show. Soon, they were laughing and throwing popcorn at the TV. It was such a dumb show, but they were hooked on all the drama.
Kyle smiled as Jared wrapped an arm around him. He felt safe and content here with him. Nothing could ever compare to this.
—Happy Mistakes—
Miles watched as Leora and Lucas stood in line waiting for their food. He was currently sitting with Artie saving their seats. He watched Leora as she and Lucas laughed together.
His thoughts started to wander towards Kyle. They hadn't spoken much since career day. Kyle was spending more time with Jared. It almost felt like he was trying to pass off that they had a perfect relationship. Miles knew better. He knew all their problems, he was one of them after all. He also knew how perfect they were for one another. They complimented each other perfectly. Kyle and Jared were like day and night.
However, Kyle understood Miles like no one else did. They complimented each other perfectly too. Kyle was his other half. He always knew what Miles needed before he even knew himself. Miles could read Kyle like a book. He knew what the blonde was thinking and could anticipate his next move and be ready to help him before Kyle could ask. They were one brain cell. No one was better for him than Kyle.
The. They had to go and mess things up. Miles almost wished Kyle had never kissed him on New Years. Sure, it had been a joke, and something they had done hundreds of times before, but Miles had been starting to question his sexuality. Kyle had known that too.
"So," Artie said, getting Miles' attention. Miles turned back to him. He arched a brow in silent question. "What are your plans for the weekend?"
"Don't know, I'm more of a live in the moment kind of guy," Miles replied.
"Ok, how about if you're free Lucas and I are going to that Music Festival at the boardwalk if you and Leora wanna join us," Artie said.
"I mean I've spent every waking minute these last few months getting Inside Joke, Kyle, and even Aves ready to go on tour, I'm practically a Rocque Records employee," Miles replied.
"So you're in, cause you love music?" Artie asked with a chuckle.
"If I'm free, maybe I can learn a thing or two," Miles joked.
"Oh come on, it'll be fun, trust me," Artie said.
"Yeah, I'm sure I'll be free. Kyle seems to be back into that lovey dovey phase with Jared again. He's been blowing me off for the last week to spend time with his boyfriend," Miles said.
"Who? Kyle? Did You two get into a fight again?" Leora asked as she sat down next to him with their food. Lucas sat down next to Artie passing him his food.
"No, why would you think that?" Miles said.
"Because he's been avoiding you and spending more time with Jared. I don't think he's left Jared's other than to go to school and the studio latey. Dad said the only time he sees him is at the studio," Leora said.
"I didn't do anything, he's the one with a problem," Miles said before he could stop himself.
"I knew it, you two are so predictable," Leora said.
"I'm giving him space, if he wants to apologize to me, he knows where to find me," Miles said.
"Yeah, and until then I can keep you company," Leora said smiling at him.
"Good, you're probably better company than him right now anyways," Miles said.
"What did he do?" Lucas asked.
"Don't worry about it, I'll just avoid him too and in a week he'll come back groveling," Miles said waving a hand. "He can't live without me."
"I don't know about that," Lucas said.
"Somehow I don't think Kyle will be the one groveling," Artie said.
"Well it won't be me, not this time," Miles said looking away from the group. None of them knew what Kyle had done. they could never know, especially Leora. He didn't want to hurt her. "Anyways let's forget about Kyle right now as he is not here, and let's focus on this awesome food and the hilarious movie we are gonna go see."
"Yes, I'm so excited," Leora said.
"Me too, Kyle and I-" Miles started he paused and looked down at his food with a frown. He hadn't meant to do that. He wanted to steer the conversation away from Kyle. He had been planning to see this movie with Kyle for a while now. Ever since they first heard about it. It was all Kyle's fault that they weren't talking right now.
"Wow," Lucas said.
"Kyle and I have been waiting for this movie, but it's his loss and I don't care," Miles said, looking up at his brother.
"Let's eat, we don't want to miss the movie," Leora said, trying to lead them away from the topic of Kyle.
—Happy Mistakes—
Noah yawned as he leaned against Roldy. They were having an at home date night. Roldy had made him dinner, with help from his mom through texts and even a short video chat. Noah had gone to get movie snacks while he cooked, so he could be surprised.
Dinner had been great. Roldy had made one of his mom's amazing Swedish dishes she had always made growing up. It was pretty close to hers. She had walked Roldy through all the steps. It wasn't too bad. After they cleaned up and had dessert, a pie Noah had bought on his shopping adventure, they settled into the living room to watch a movie.
Noah snuggled deeper into Roldy. He pressed his face into the older boy inhaling deeply. He just felt safe with Roldy. Roldy wrapped an arm around him. Noah turned his face and pressed his nose into his neck. Roldy squirmed with a soft chuckle.
"Sorry," Noah mumbled. He then pressed a gentle kiss to his neck in apology.
Noah readjusted himself. He wanted to be as close to Roldy as possible. He breathed in deep, taking in his natural scent. It was musky yet fruity, it was something just so naturally Roldy.
Noah pressed another kiss to his neck. His mouth trailing up towards his ear, the movie forgotten at his point. He nibbled at Roldy's ear as his hand snaked around him.
"Noah," Roldy said.
"Don't mind me, just watch your movie," Noah said softly as he kissed back down his neck.
Roldy's head fell aside to give Noah more room. "How can I focus with you doing that?"
"Don't know, don't understand why you're fighting my advances," Noah said, his hand coming to the hem of Roldy's shirt. He pulled it up and ran his palm across his taut stomach. He felt the muscle contract under his touch.
All the hours they spent dancing and working out was really lying off. Roldy was starting to get really toned, and his abs were more pronounced. Not that Noah really cared about that, he would love Roldy if he was overweight, this was just a bonus. Hell, he kind of missed Roldy's pudge a little, but this definitely wasn't a bad thing.
He inhaled deeply again. Roldy's scent was just intoxicating. He couldn't help but get a little turned on. He wanted this man so bad. He would never grow tired of this.
Noah tugged at Roldy's shirt. Roldy chuckled as he sat up and pulled it off. Noah returned to his abs and up his chest as he settled back. Noah started to kiss along his shoulder.
"Do you want something, No?" Roldy asked.
Noah nodded his head. His hand travelled lower, stopping at his fly. He nipped at Roldy's neck silently asking permission to continue. He knew it wasn't going to work. He knew Roldy wanted him to be vocal.
"What?" Roldy asked.
"May I?" Noah asked softly.
"I don't know, I don't feel convinced yet," Roldy replied.
"Please?" Noah asked.
"Convince me," Roldy chuckled. He turned and captured Noah's lips in a kiss.
"Ok I've got an argument to convince you," Noah said. He jumped up quickly. Roldy arched a brow at him confused. "If this doesn't convince you I don't know what will."
Noah started stripping. He stopped at his underwear. He bit his lip as he palmed his growing bulge. He swayed his hips as he stuck a thumb into the waistband. He slowly pulled it down just a little.
"Fuck Noah," Roldy said. He reached out and grabbed the brunette. He leaned forward pressing kisses to his stomach. "Yes, I'm convinced," he said. He brought his hands up to Noah's underwear and pushed them down freeing Noah's erection.
Noah grinned and he sank to his knees. He opened Roldy's jeans and quickly worked on pulling them down just enough to free Roldy's erection. He wasted no time in taking him in his mouth. Roldy cursed again as he tangled a hand into his hair.
"Fuck Noah," Roldy gasped as Noah started to deep throated him. He tugged gently on his hair, knowing how much Noah loved that.
Roldy leaned back into the couch. It was all he could do at the moment as Noah worked him over. He gripped Noah's hair tight as he took him deeper. Noah started gagging as he bobbed his head, but didn't stop. Roldy watched as his eyes started to water, but he was committed to getting Roldy off. Noah pulled off to catch his breath. His hand replaced his mouth. He looked up at Roldy with a grin as he gently tugged at his dick.
"Fuck No, get up here, let me fuck you," Roldy croaked.
Noah just leaned forward and took him in his mouth again. Roldy fought the urge to thrust his hips up. Noah was already working hard, he didn't need to choke him anymore. Noah however seemed to have different ideas.
"No," Roldy whined tugging at his hair. He never wanted this to end, but he needed to fuck the smaller man now. "Noah mere," he tugged again.
Noah pulled off him and looked up at him. His cheeks were rosy and his lips plump. His eyes were watering from all the extra effort he had put in.
"Now," Roldy asked, reaching out for him again.
Noah climbed into his lap. He smashed their lips together in a hungry kiss. Roldy groaned into the kiss, pulling Noah closer. He could never get enough of this man. He needed more. They parted and Noah set about unbuttoning Roldy's shirt and attaching his lips to his neck.
Roldy brought a spit slicked finger down to Noah's hole. He slipped it in quickly. Noah gasped and rocked back onto his finger.
"Ro," Noah mewled.
"Wanna fuck you," Roldy said turning his head and kissing the side of Noah's head. He slipped another finger in and started opening the smaller man.
"Please," Noah panted.
"Lube?" Roldy asked.
Noah jumped up and started digging in his pants pocket. He came back with a small bottle of lube.
"I see you've been planning this," Roldy chuckled.
"Since after my nap this afternoon, I've been planning my attack," Noah replied as he climbed back into his lap. He quickly coated Roldy with the lube, tossing the bottle aside and using his shirt to wipe his hand of the excess lube.
"You're so sneaky," Roldy chuckled.
"I know, and now I'm gonna ride you nice and hard," Noah said. He reached down and position himself above Roldy. He sank down onto the other man cutting off any witty reply Roldy had been trying to say.
"Fuck," Roldy said instead.
"Please," Noah said as he started bouncing in his lap.
Roldy groaned as he moved. His hands grabbed Noah's hips as he thrusted up into his right heat. Noah moaned and moved faster. Roldy reached between them and grabbed Noah's erection. Noah gasped shocked at the suddenness of it. Roldy grinned as he worked him over trying to get him off.
Noah came with a shudder and a groan of Roldy's name tumbling from his lips. Roldy wasn't very far behind. He clutched at Noah's hips as his own stuttered against the shorter man.
They both sat there trying to catch their breath. Noah had his face buried in Roldy's neck nuzzling the other man.
"What brought that on?" Roldy asked.
—Happy Mistakes—
Logan sighed as he sank into the couch. He had finally returned home from Minnesota. Carlos was working late, and Kendall and James were over with Jenny. Kendall was currently trying to talk Logan down while James got Jenny some juice.
"You did the right thing, Loges," Kendall insisted.
"I know, she's trying and I want to try, but this trial could kill her if the cancer doesn't," Logan said.
"And she knows that," Kendall said.
"But does she?" Logan asked.
"Yes, I know you and you are a very thorough doctor," Kendall said.
"You probably even tried to talk her out of it," James said as he entered the room with Jenny toddling behind him. He had three glasses in his hands as well. He handed one to Kendall and Logan each.
"Well yeah, it's scary how good you two know me, sometimes," Logan muted as he took a drink. He immeasurably started to cough. "That's wine."
"Oh yeah, it's wine, sorry, but you looked like you needed something to take the edge off," James said.
"Yeah, I need this, but a warning would have been nice," Logan said once his coughing subsided.
"I said sorry," James chuckled.
"So when can we anticipate her arrival?" Kendall asked.
"Three weeks, and mom and dad are coming too," Logan said, sitting back in his chair.
"So how did it go, did you guys talk about…" James trailed off.
"Yeah, we talked about that," Logan said looking down at his drink.
The three fell silent as Logan thought about his next words carefully. He and Presely had talked about everything. Nothing had been held back. They spent the week just talking and getting everything off their chests. They were learning how to be siblings again. It was so strange, after all these years.
"Are they staying here with you?" Kendall asked.
"Yeah, I'm not gonna make them rent a place when I've got room," Logan said.
"Do you want the condo back? I'm sure Jared wouldn't mind letting us stay with him again," James said.
"Kyle would mind," Kendall said.
"No, it's ok you guys can stay there as long as you need," Logan said.
"Speaking of Kyle, I better text him and see what his plans are if he's coming home tonight or not," James said.
"You know he's probably not, he's fighting with Miles so he's probably avoiding Leora too," Kendall said.
"Him and Miles are fighting?" Logan asked.
"I think so, miles hasn't been at the studio all week, which for a kid who wanted to be put on the payroll two weeks ago, he's not making a very good argument for it," Kendall said.
"Payroll?" Logan asked.
"Yeah, he's there often enough I was thinking about offering him a summer job actually," Kendal said.
"Aren't you going to be gone all summer," Logan asked.
"For work, on tour with the guys and no Penelope. Kyle is probably gonna make Miles stowaway, I might as well pay the kid to be there and get some job experience out of it," Kendall replied.
"What are they fighting about?" Logan asked.
"Not sure, I just know Miles hasn't been at the studio and spending more time with Leora. Kyle's been at the studio and barely coming home. They'll work it out eventually," Kendall said.
"They always do," Logan said.
"Usually with only minimal bloodshed," James laughed.
"Those two are so dramatic, I don't know where they get it from," Kendall said.
"Like father like son," James said, "those two are just like you both fighting all all. If I remember correctly you two got into a fight over Sharice Smart freshman year of high school and there was a broken nose and a black eye," he said looking from Kendall to Logan.
"Ok first of all, my nose was already broken from the hockey game the night before he just made it worse," Kendall said.
"He started it," Logan replied.
"Well you shouldn't have been encroaching on my dibs," Kendall said.
"Hey I saved you from her. She gave everyone in our class, except the four of us, crabs by the time we left Minnesota," Logan said.
"Yeah, but still, you broke the code and needed to be punished," Kendall said.
"Besides you found someone much better than her," James replied.
"Yes and we have three wonderful children together," Kendal said smiling at James.
"Kendall, we have five kids," James said.
"Yeah and only three of them are wonderful," Logan replied for the blonde.
"Exactly, he gets it," Kendall said.
"Yeah, two of mine are wonderful and one of them doesn't even live with me," Logan said, taking a sip of his wine.
"The other is Layla right?" James asked.
"No, she's being difficult, she's been sneaking Erika here when we're not home telling Justine and Tyke that we are here so she can come over," Logan sighed.
"Well at least they can't get pregnant together," Kendal said.
"Silver lining I guess," Logan mumbled, "Why do kids gotta grow up so fast?"
"Because they know it annoys us," Kendall said.
"Yep, once they figure that out they try to grow up as fast as possible," James nodded his head in agreement.
"Why though? Being an adult sucks, I wish I could go back to like fifteen-sixteen and stay there, back when I thought I knew everything," Logan groaned.
"Same, I don't want to be an adult anymore. Can we go back?" Kendall asked.
"Unfortunately not," Logan said looking down at his empty glass.
James gathered his abs Kendall's glasses and left to get more. Kendall scooted closer on the couch to Logan. He rested his head on his shoulder. Logan rested his head on top of Kendall's head.
"Am I really doing the right thing bringing her out here for a drug trial that might not even work," Logan asked.
"Yes, you gotta try, she's your sister and as messed up as your relationship is, she still deserves the best treatment she can get to fight this. She's way too young for cancer, this sucks," Kendall said.
"I know, and we are trying to work things out. I just fear…it's too late and I lost so much time with her," Logan said.
"You can't make that up unfortunately, but you can make the most of what time you've got left," Kendall said.
"I know, but like we've lost a lot of time and we are never gonna get a chance to make that up now," Logan said.
"Well then you've got to make the most of the time you have left," Kendall replied, "you don't have to forgive her, but you can move on and build that relationship again. Spend time with your sister while you still can."
"When did you get so wise," Logan asked.
"Always have been, you just never listen," Kendall replied.
Logan laughed and shoved the blonde away. James returned, giving Logan and Kendall another glass of wine.
—Happy Mistakes—
Miles followed Leora up to the condo. The lights were all off and Kendall's car wasn't here meaning they probably weren't home yet. Leora entered the condo and called out to them just to be sure. He was also sure that Kyle was over at Jared's since he was avoiding everybody lately.
"Looks like we are alone," Leora said slowly.
"It would appear so," Miles said, nodding his head awkwardly.
"Come on," Leora said, grabbing his hand.
Soon they were in the guest room that had become hers for the time being. Leora was talking about the temporary move, miles wasn't really listening. His thoughts were still on Kyle. He hadn't been able to really focus on anything else all night, but Leora didn't seem to notice. She had been distracted with Lucas and Artie. She was bound to notice now that they were alone. Miles needed to distract himself from Kyle.
"Leora," Miles said, causing her to stop talking. "Did you really invite me up here just to talk?"
Leora's jaw floundered for a moment, her cheeks starting to tint pink. "No, but I uh-"
Miles scooted closer to her on the bed. He kissed her softly. Leora let out an eep and s Ike's as they parted.
"So are we gonna sit here talking or are we gonna take advantage of having this place all to ourselves," Miles asked.
"Talking is overrated anyways," Leora said. She smiled as she leaned in and kissed him again.
Miles pulled her into his lap. Leora gave another surprise squeak but followed his lead. Miles pulled her close as they kissed. His hand came up to cup her breast. If she wanted to fill around he was gonna give her that.
Leora gasped at that. She pulled back to look down at Miles. Her pupils were blown wide with lust and her breathing was labored. He could see her searching gaze. He met it with a confident smirk.
"Can I?" Miles asked, his hands coming down to the hem of her shirt.
Leora nodded her head. Miles lifted her shirt off and tossed it aside. He reached behind her and started to fumble with the clasp on her bra. It only took ten tries before he got it open. Leora giggled as she shrugged it off, tossing it aside. Miles wrapped his arms around her as he turned and laid her down on the bed in one swift motion.
"That was graceful," Leora said breathlessly.
"It's not my first time," Miles replied with a cocky smirk. He had surprised Kyle with that move before getting a similar response from the other blonde.
"Do you do this often?" Leora asked.
"Only with people I really like," Miles replied.
"So you like me?" Leora asked.
"Yeah," Miles nodded his head.
He leaned in and kissed her, silencing her next words. He didn't want her talking right now. She might not like some of his answers.
Miles slid into place between her thighs. He pressed his lips to hers feverishly as he pressed his body down into hers. His hands skimmed her sides and came up to her breasts. He rubbed his thumbs over her nipples earning more moans from her. He started trailing his lips down her neck. He sucked on the spot where her neck met her shoulder. Leora gasped and clutched at him.
'Same as Kyle.'
Miles tried to push that thought from his mind. He didn't need to be thinking about Kyle while he was with Leora. He was sure that Kyle didn't think about him when he was with Jared.
"Something wrong?" Leora asked.
Miles looked up at her.
"Sorry, I just…what are we doing here?" Miles asked. He wanted to know just where this was heading. Was he reading too much into things. Did she want to take that step with him, when they had only barely made out a couple times before this.
"I-I-" Leora started. She paused as she tried to gather her words.
"Yeah, I have that effect on people," Miles chuckled as he leaned in to kiss her again. Leora laughed into the kiss as well. She placed her arms around his shoulders.
"I want this," Leora said, "I want you."
"Ok, like that's a-" Miles started.
Leora kissed him again. She shook her head. It was like she knew what he had been going to say. She brought her hands down his back and started to tug at his shirt. He sat back and allowed her to take it off.
They were kissing again. This time it wasn't as rushed as before. It was soft and full of emotion. It made a knot form in Miles' stomach. Leora cared about him, yet all he could think about how much like Kyle she was, yet not like Kyle.
"You're not a mistake Miles," Leora said softly as she pecked him on the lips. "You're amazing and special and I wanna help you see that. I want you to see you the way I do."
"I can't," Miles said, shaking his head. He wasn't special. If she knew what he had been doing with Kyle, she wouldn't want this.
"I'll do whatever it takes to help you see just how wonderful you really are," Leora said. She kissed him again. This time the heat was there again.
Miles took the distraction. He brought his hands back up to her chest. Leora's hand trailed down to his jeans. She quickly opened them and started to push them down.
Miles gasped as her hand brushed against him. His brain was getting foggy, but she needed to know what she was signing up for. He was a mess. She didn't really want him. He was nobody's first choice.
"Wait," Miles said, "there's something-"
He stopped as the bedroom door opened. Kyle entered the room talking, not paying attention.
"Le, dads making me come home tonight-oh," Kyle said as he realized what was going on. He paused and averted his gaze. "I am sorry I didn't realize you had company. I-I'm gonna go." He backed out of the room, closing the door.
"Well that definitely killed the mood," Miles said sitting back. Leora nodded her head as she grabbed a tshirt. She slipped it on silently.
"Miles," she said.
"I should probably go," Miles said as he grabbed his shirt and put it back on. He jumped up and bolted from the room. Leora followed him.
They found Kyle downstairs in the living room. He glanced up at them and then back down at the floor. Miles didn't miss the look of hurt in his eyes.
"Well this is awkward, I'm gonna go," Miles said, making a dash for the door. He didn't want to stick around for this one. Things would only get weird.

Jake bounced Kenny in his lap as he listened to Adam talk about his plans for a baby reveal. Cooper was beside him holding Eli and making the baby giggle. Miri was playing doctor with Jenny and Damien. She had her own doctor kit and was giving shots and stickers. Adam and Cooper had invited themselves over for dinner with the kids and Jenny, who they were babysitting. They had revealed they were expecting again.
"I still can't believe you guys are doing this again," Jake said.
"Yeah, I know we've been so careful and I've been taking my birth control religiously, but antibiotics can mess with birth control and when Coop and I had that one night, and him not on birth control," Adam said.
"All you two gotta do is look at one another," Damien laughed from his spot on the floor.
"This is it though, no more after this," Cooper said.
"I agree," Adam said.
"I don't know, you two claim to be being careful and yet you have two kids already and a third on the way," Damien said as he excused himself from the girls. They continued to play without him.
"Anyways, Jake can you help me with the pictures," Adam said ignoring Damien.
"Duh, and I think that's a cute way to do it too," Jake said.
"I told you," Adam said, sticking his tongue out at Cooper.
"Fine, fine go ahead," Cooper said, putting a hand up.
"Good, cause I already ordered everything I needed to do the photo shoot and it should be here by Friday," Adam said.
"Of course you did," Cooper laughed.
"Also I've got an audition next week for Carlos' show. He said the part is mine, all I gotta do is show up," Adam said.
"A part made just for you?" Damien asked.
"Basically, they are having like a flashback episode and Carlos told them I was an actor and I could totally play a younger version of pops," Adam said.
"Yeah, you are his double like Kyle is dads," Jake laughed.
"Yeah, I'm sure he's got Kyle in on this too," Adam said.
"Wouldn't surprise me, Kyle's already taking over the music industry, why not throw in acting," Jake said.
"If anyone could do it all, it would be him. I don't understand how he does it all," Adam said.
"Because he's probably taking pills," Cooper said. His eyes went wide as he realized he said it out loud.
"Shut up," Adam said, smacking Cooper's arm.
"What? Think about it. I mean he's going to school and working long hours at the studio. Suddenly he's a morning person? Kyle has never been a morning person. You can't tell me he's not taking something," Cooper said.
"Kyle would never," Adam said.
"I'm just saying he's around a lot of pop stars there at the studio. Who knows," Cooper shrugged.
"Adderall," Jake said slowly.
"What?" Adam asked, turning to look at him.
"Adderall, but he quit," Jake said, "at least that's what he told me," he added quickly.
"What? You didn't tell me because!" Adam asked, shocked.
"Well he said he was done and I trust him. Miles is keeping an eye on him too," Jake said slowly.
"Are you kidding me right now?" Adam asked.
"What dirt did he have on you?" Damien asked.
"It was back before I started talking about my postpartum. We promised to keep each other's secrets, and honestly I forgot all about it until now," Jake admitted.
"This isn't something you keep to yourself Jake," Adam started.
"Sorry, we talked about it a couple times, he even let me search his backpack once. He told me he quit and Miles confirmed it. I just pushed it to the back of my mind, you especially after my husband almost died," Jake said.
"Day, where's your dad," Adam asked suddenly.
"I don't know he was being all cryptic about his dinner plans," Damien shrugged.
"How do you think he'll take the news?" Adam asked.
"He's gonna scold you again about using protection and birth control," Damien laughed.
"But we were, I'm on birth control," Adam said quickly.
"Yeah, and Cooper's pregnant," Damien said.
"That's still so weird to hear, like it hasn't really sunk in yet," Cooper said, shaking his head.
They continued to talk and make plans for their pregnancy reveal. Miri and Jenny kept each other busy and eventually Kenny joined them.
Eventually Steve came home. He entered the apartment and paused when he saw Adam and Cooper. Adam greeted him with a smile and wave.
"Hello, I wasn't expecting you two to be here," Steve said slowly.
"Everything ok dad?" Damien asked.
"Actually not really," Steve said.
"Gampa Stee!" Miri shouted once she noticed him.
"Hi Miri, sweetie," Steve said, scooping the toddler up. "Why is she calling me grandpa?"
"Cause you are a grandpa," Damein said. Steve just glared at his son.
"She's probably heard Jake and Day saying that you're Eli's grandpa," Cooper replied
"That's fair," Steve said.
"Just accept it old man, you're now one of her grandpas too," Adam said with a grin. Earning himself a glare from Steve as well.
"So where were you?" Damein asked.
"Out," Steve replied vaguely as Miri started to wiggle in his arms. He set her down and she ran back to Jenny.
"You are aware mom calls me almost everyday now and tells me everything that's going on in her life," Damein said.
"If you knew why did you ask," Steve asked as he sat down on the couch.
"Can we not beat around the bush anymore? Are you and mom getting a divorce or not," Damein asked.
"I don't know, it's complicated," Steve sighed. "We talked tonight and I think it's best we stay separated right now, while we figure this out."
"Well you can stay here as long as you'd like," Jake said.
"Thanks, but I am looking for an apartment of my own for right now," Steve said.
"Dad you can stay," Damien said.
"I know, but if this becomes a permanent decision, I wanna be prepared," Steve said.
"Ok, but we are not rushing you," Damien said.
"You look like you could use a distraction," Adam said.
"Whatcha got kid?" Steve asked.
"How about adding another grand baby to the brood," Adam asked.
"Don't tell me you're pregnant again," Steve said.
"Not me, it's Cooper, blame him," Adam said pointing a finger at his boyfriend.
"Weren't you just saying you didn't need another baby," Steve asked.
"Yes, but life has a funny way of working out," Adam sighed. "I'm on birth control which stops me from getting pregnant, but Cooper is not on birth control as we don't switch things up that way usually, so he decided against it," Adam said.
"Cause I suck at remembering to take pills," Cooper whined.
"And look where it got you," Adam said.
"Don't birth control pills make you unable to get anyone else pregnant too?" Jake asked.
"Normally, but did you know if you take antibiotics they can negate the birth control," Adam said.
"When were you on antibiotics?" Cooper asked.
"How far along are you?" Damien asked sassily.
"Remember when Miri got strep throat and then we all got it," Adam asked.
"Oh yeah, that was right around my birthday," Cooper said.
"Yep, almost three months ago," Adam said, nodding his head.
"You two are something special," Damien said.
"Did you know antibiotics stopped birth control," Adam asked.
"How do you think Eli was conceived," Damien replied.
"Yeah, it's not something they warn you about," Jake said.
"But we love our little Eli," Adam said.
"And we will love this little one," Cooper said.
"Of course, our little Brooklyn," Adam replied with a grin.
"We don't even know the gender yet," Cooper said.
"But Grandma Brooke would flip and I'd be her favorite," Adam said, earning chuckles around the room.
"It's not off the table, but let's wait a little bit before making a decision," Cooper replied.
"By the way Steve, this is a secret. Dad and pops don't even know yet," Adam said.
"I'm honored I'm one of the first to know," Steve chuckled, "was Damein first?"
"No, and I'm hurt," Damien said, "I had to find out from Rina!"
"Adam how dare you," Steve chastised the younger Knight sibling.
"I said I was sorry, I was gonna tell you tonight and I didn't tell Rina and Blaine, Coop did," Adam said.
"Still you cut me real deep," Damein sighed dramatically.
"You'll get over it," Adam said.

Carlos made his way up to the house. He saw Miles sitting out on the porch swing. He seemed deep in thought. He hadn't even noticed Carlos yet. Carlos sat down next to him startling him from his thoughts.
"Oh, hey papi," Miles said slowly.
"You ok?" Carlos asked.
"No," Miles said looking down at the ground.
"What's wrong?" Carlos asked.
"I've been seeing two people, at the same time," Miles said without looking up. "Leora is not aware but he was aware of Leora and even told me to go for her since he was already seeing someone else too."
"He?" Carlos asked. Layla had told him about Miles being into guys now, but Miles hadn't told him yet.
"Yeah, I'm up pan, it's kind of a new development," Miles said looking up at Carlos. "I was with Leora tonight and he saw us and I think he got jealous, but he's the one who ended it because he had a boyfriend already."
"Oh," Carlos said.
"Yeah, I'm just so confused right now, because all throughout our date I couldn't focus on Leora and I felt so bad, but like he doesn't like me like that, and I just…I don't know what to do," Miles said tears welling in his eyes.
"This guy sounds like a real jerk."
Miles' head snapped up as Kyle walked up the porch. Carlos greeted the blonde with a smile. Kyle leaned back against the railing across from the two.
"Yeah, he can be," Miles agreed.
"Just my opinion, Mijo, but you gotta be honest with Leora. If you're not that into her you should tell her," Carlos said.
"I know, but I'm scared, I don't wanna hurt her," Miles said.
"It's gonna hurt her more the longer you string her along," Carlos said.
"Papi can-" Miles started.
"I'll be inside," Carlos said, putting his hands up.
He left the two alone. Something was up with those two. They had been acting strange lately. He would have to corner Miles once Kyle wasn't around.
He made his way to the kitchen first. He was slightly worried about what he was walking into. Logan and Kendall had sent him a few questionable texts. He was sure they had been drinking. Upon seeing two open wine bottles his suspicions were confirmed.
With a sigh he made his way to the living room. He saw Kendall and Logan sitting on the floor giggling at a video on Kendall's phone, and James watching them from the armchair across the room. The two on the floor were so engrossed in their video they hadn't noticed Carlos yet.
"What did I miss?" Carlos asked. James looked up at him with a shrug. Carlos crossed the room and sat down beside him.
"Logan looked like he needed to chill so we opened some wine and now we are three bottles in," James said pointing to the wine bottle on the coffee table.
"Where's Jenny?" Carlos asked
"Adam and Cooper picked her up and are keeping her overnight," James said.
"You good?" Carlos asked.
"I'm better than them," James replied.
"He's been so upset over all this with Presely, all the guilt over turning her away last fall when she tried to tell him," Carlos said.
"Yeah, he's been on it all night, but now Kendall is distracting him with animal videos, I think," James replied.
"I can't leave you guys unattended for a minute can I?" Carlos teased.
"Nope, we are troublemakers, always have been always will be," James replied.
"Are you good to drive or do you guys need a ride home?" Carlos asked.
"Honestly, I've only had two glasses, I should be good to go, but getting Kendall out to the car is a challenge all in itself," James replied.
"Right, I just have to get Logan upstairs, you've got a car ride and have to get him to bed," Carlos laughed. Kendall and Logan looked up at that.
"Los," Logan said, finally noticing him.
"Hey Logie, having fun?" Carlos asked as he stood and walked over to his husband. James stood and walked over to the blonde.
"I think I'm stuck on the floor," Logan said.
"Me too," Kendall said.
"That's ok," Carlos said as he sat down beside him. James sat down next to his husband taking his attention.
"I think we had juss bit too much wine," Logan said, his words slightly slurred.
"You think?" Carlos asked with a smile as he leaned back against the couch. Logan scooted closer to him. "It's ok, I probably would've done the same tonight if I had been here."
"Sorry, just stress," Logan said, laying his head on his shoulder.
"I understand," Carlos said, lacing their fingers together.
"I love you," Logan said.
"I love you too," Carlos replied. He brought their hand up to his mouth and kissed Logan's hand.

Kyle leaned back against the railing, watching Mikes who was sitting on the porch swing. Neither of them had spoken since Carlos left. Kyle didn't know what to say.
Walking in on Miles and Leora like that, it had ignited a burning rage inside him. He suddenly didn't want Miles with Leora. He wanted Miles. He knew Miles better than her. He had figured every little thing that drove Miles mad. He could reduce Miles to a puddle of goo with just a few well placed touches and kisses. Leora didn't know any of that. She didn't understand Miles like he did. She could never know him like Kyle did.
"So," Miles said, breaking the silence.
Kyle looked up from the ground, he had been staring at. Miles was leaning forward resting his arms on his knees as he looked down at the ground.
"I don't know why I came here," Kyle said softly.
"Me either, I thought we were done with this," Miles said.
"Me too, but when I…I mean…forget it," Kyle said shaking his head. He pushed himself off the rail. He turned to leave. Miles stopped him.
"I couldn't get you out of my head the entire time," Miles said.
"That shouldn't make me feel better," Kyle said softly. A small smile tugging at the corner of his plips.
"I don't want her," Miles said softly.
"It would be so much easier if you did," Kyle said.
Miles' head snapped up. He looked up at the blonde confused.
"I'm a mess, you don't want to be with me. I can't commit to anyone. Look at my history, I cheated with Jared and now I'm cheating with you. I don't know why I just can't-why am I…" Kyle trailed off. He didn't know what to say.
It seemed when things started going good, he had to mess it up. Things were going good with Lilly and then Jared entered the picture. He had been attracted to Jared almost the moment he laid eyes on him. Which had been confusing since he had never been into guys before. Then he kissed Miles on New Years. That changed everything between them. Suddenly he found himself turning to Miles more and more over the last few months. That's not to say he didn't want Jared either, he still had very strong feelings for the older man. He couldn't deny he had feelings for Miles too.
"Dude," Miles said.
"I can't choose," Kyle said quickly, "please don't make me choose."
"Well, you can't have it both ways; I mean, Jared is gonna find out sooner or later," Miles said.
"I know, but like…I can't choose. I love him and me-" Kyle stopped himself.
"What?" Miles asked, standing up.
"I love you," Kyle said, finally saying the words out loud.
"But you can't have us both," Miles said.
"I know, but like I can't choose, I don't want to lose either of you," Kyle said.
"By not choosing, I think you've made yourself pretty clear. I think you need to leave," Miles said. He stood and made his way to the door. He paused, giving him a moment to make a decision. When Kyle didn't speak, he walked inside.
