Chapter One:

The Nation of Falmieor: Imperial City Ramshorn (Outer Neighborhood)

War had came to this land, actually ravaged it, shaking it to it's very core. My father a stubborn man, yet wise and fair did all he could to broker peace with the people of Aftokrator. But they couldn't be reasoned with. Our home is a Nation of harvest and plentiful bounty. Our agricultural prowess is the envy of many, our resources are nearly boundless. But beneath that lies a formidable commodity. Ramshorn the Imperial City, is home to a guild of master craftsman. Yet my father did all he could to evade war. But when you have the numbers and strength. Nothing can be kept from you for too long.

Aftokrator knew this, knew it well…

"They've nearly breached the outer perimeter." A trusted family guardian said, pushing me down the flight of stairs towards the basement.

"Eyule I have to stand and fight, my father needs me!"

"What he needs is for you to remain safe." He insisted as we reached the sub basement.

"Eyule! Running won't help our Nation!" I shouted.

"Neither you dying either! Thefle is the Zansabrenth ready?"

"Should be shortly. Hopefully we won't miss our opportunity at orbit. Should of done this when Meeden was in our complete Nexus." Another guardian said.

"Thefle, talk some sense into Eyule, I need to be here to the end."

"You don't need to be here, you want to be here. Huge difference. Beside a drop ship and ten combatants, has all of much destroyed our best force's." Suddenly the foundation shook violently, lights flickering in the aftermath. Dust and chunk's of the ceiling began falling down on us.

"They've breached the inner perimeter, we haven't got much time, Thefle hurry to the basement and get him situated inside the Zansabrenth. There's something I must retrieve." Eyule directed before running off.

"You six with us now!" Thefle shouted at the soldiers as we rush down more steps till finally the large empty space of the basement was infront of us. Station in the middle platform the ship known as the Zansabrenth. She was parked but primed as a man holding device did work on the ship. Climbing aboard, the small but livable ship, I sat down and strap in passenger area. A small floating cube was docked in there steering apparatus.

"Thefle Fournier, rank Captain. I am at your command," the robotic voice spoke.

"Access Code- 7ZI291C- Transfer Command, Rank Shift Captain to Razazel Culnasis."

"Confirmed, transfer complete."

I sat with fear chocking my throat, being forced to flee. To leave behind my home for somewhere I dreamed never came true. Even if I was prepared all my life to be ready at a moments notice. I belong here. Aftokrator be damned, our Nation never step out of it's place. It isn't fair. It isn't fair.. It isn't fair…!" My fists pound the arm rest as I argued in my mind.

"There inside, I barely made it back without being seen." Eyule was holding a few things in his hand as he stepped in. But as I face him his left eye was missing. Yanked out of it's very own socket.

"What's the meaning of this, your eye is gone. Clearly you've encountered the enemy?" Thefle question.

"Actually the opposite, in the event of a emergency of this level my true and final role comes into play. Only his father can open the vault, but their was always another. Me! Something of a birthright has been locked away, and without his father to open the vault. I am the contingency plan.

"What are you saying?" I finally ask baffled to this revelation.

"The King is only one who can access the vault without issue. In his absence, I his retainer are allowed entryway. But this does not come with out sacrifice. My left eye for the contents of vault. Which brings me to this." He says placing the clothed wrapped items on the ships meeting table. "Come, we have much to discuss and not enough time. Thefle begin the departure initiation."

Thefle rushed over to the cockpit with his assistant. I stood up and walked over to the table as he undid the wrapping. Inside was old paperwork and on top was a…

"Black trigger, why was a Black Trigger locked away?"

"It's your's, a birthright. You're mother was the catalyst of it's design. She gave her body, mind and soul to create this inheritance. It's a ritual going back to dark day's of our Nation perhaps a millenia ago. Your father has his own Black Trigger, forged by his mother and so on and so forth." Eyule explains while trying to hide the fact he is in pain.

"Lie's my mother died when I was just nine years old. A sickness took her. That what's dad and everyone one else told me." I argued slowly backing away.

"Yes to the people, she passed in her sleep from an illness but I and you're father know the truth. But we're nearly out of time, we can't argue. I need you to listen carefully." Eyule said with the utmost seriousness in his voice. "Meeden is the only place where you'll be safe, Aftokrator isn't likely to chase after you there. There are preventive measures Meeden has in place that would keep invaders from having their way."

"Meeden is primitive from last I heard, what can they do to keep Aftokrator at bay, let alone the rest of the Neighborhood? Don't be preposterous Eyule, I'm safe nowhere. I will always have a target on my back as long as I drew breath."

"I assure you, Meeden will surprise you. But heed this warning, Boarder is an armed forces meant to combat Neighbors from invading. But they aren't all bad, once you land, seek out Takumi Rindō of Tamakoma Branch, their a Neighbor friendly group within Border. Show them this letter and emblem. Keep your true identity a secret untill you speak with Rindō." Eyule said sternly.

"Everything is prepared, count down is set for five-" Before Thefle could finish an explosion went off in the sub basement.

"Find him, and end him!" A gruff voice echoes out reaching us down below.

"Battle station's, defend the Prince. No matter what give them hell, we need four minutes tops." Eyule drew his trigger and Thefle and assistance grab a normal blade as the soldiers readied themselves in a defensive line. Thefle exited the ship with his aid.

"Eyule come with me, I can't do this alone."

Eyule looked into my eyes with his last remaining eye with fiery determination and sorrow. It was a look of farewell. One final glance for memory sake.

"Ship, defensive measures activate." Eyule commanded, before rushing out the ship ready to fight.

"Yes Royal Protector." The robotic voice spoke through the ships speakers. The door all shut and became locked, the windows tinted black, so I could see but not be seen. Two men in black uniforms, signature Trion horns atop their head, the guards began flanking them. "Prince Razazel please strap in for transit."

Quickly I strapped myself in to the copilot seat, as I watch the countdown read 90 second's remaining, the battle was going in the favor of Aftokrator. It was up to a soldier and Eyule aside from Thefle. The ship rattled from the ensuing battle. I can see from the monitor. Thefle cut off the legs of one of the horned bastards. Sadly he was killed by a last ditch sneak attack. Then the Zansabrenth began hovering, space around us began to part and become fluid.

Ten seconds remain, as the engines began for the journey. Outside the still standing Aftokrator soldier sent a huge orb like attack toward the ship in hope to disable it.. But by some miracle, Eyule counters the attack at the price of his arm. Then all of the sudden the ship burts forward into the void of dimensional space. In a instant my home was gone…
