Hey y'all! How's everyone doing? Welcome to this idea that I had way back when (cough almost ten years cough) and am now finally getting back into it! Apologies for the long ass wait for those of you who've been with me since the beginning. I promise this is not some belated April Fool's joke. I meant what I said when I said I was going to update all the fics that I've put on the back burner until now. So please enjoy another fic that I am only now getting to completely rewrite and will definitely finish before the end of the year, promise. I swear. *nervous sweating*

I enjoy comments, in fact I thrive off of positive comments and love constructive critique ones cause it shows an author that their readers are actually paying attention and enjoying their work. Thanks for reading this story! Virtual hugs and cuddles to y'all.

Disclaimer: I do not own anything except any OC's that may come up, any world building that has not yet been officially stated by the books and any plot points/structures that have not been used in the books.

Also, Dragonwatch never happened because I never read the books nor do I plan to.

Also, also, it's been a while since I read either the Fablehaven and Harry Potter books so apologies if characters seem OOC. Then again, this is fanfiction so yeah, changes and differences are expected.

Warning: No beta, we die like Stingbulbs.

Prologue: Enchanted Lake Water is the Worst

XXXXXX

"This is the last time I ever let you drag me into your messes, Seth!"

Kendra Sorenson shouted in exasperated annoyance as she ducked under the dark purple flames being shot out of the mouth of a reanimated dragon's skeleton. She rolled into a crouch across the uneven rocky terrain with a grunt.

Seth glanced over at his sister, now a twenty three year old certified fairy kind badass. Her auburn hair was no longer as long as it was when she was thirteen. It was done up in a ponytail that barely reached the tops of her shoulders. There's a hair clip in the shape of an iris flower holding her bangs back. The flower seemed to glitter in the faint light of the cave and shift color with each movement.

She was dressed in her favorite acid wash jeans with a brown leather jacket worn over a light green floral patterned tank top. She'd grown and matured into a beautiful young woman with no shortage of suitors that he'd been beating back with a stick as was his duty as her little brother. She was currently looking highly peeved at the hint of a burn mark that appeared on her jacket.

He watched as she ducked under another jet of fire before brandishing her silver blade that glowed brightly from fairy magic. She swung down and cut off one of the dragon's rib bones.

"So what? You'd rather stay home and look pretty?" he shouted back at her as he ducked behind a large rock for cover from the blast of fire heading his way. The skeletal dragon roared angrily at his evasion.

Kendra growled at him before rolling out of the way as the skeletal dragon raised a sharp-clawed hand to swipe at her. "Anything's better than having to get you out of your own messes," she retorts.

Just then Bracken jumped out from behind her and brought his second horn sword down with a mighty battle cry. The strike managed to sever the clawed hand and the dragon released a cry as it reared back in outrage over its lost appendage.

"I'll have to agree with her on this one," Bracken called out as he dodged a swipe from the dragon's other clawed hand.

Seth peeked out from his cover to see Bracken looking unfairly heroic and attractive in the dim lighting of the cave. His soft, silver-white hair was artfully tousled with not a single hair out of place and his fair and flawless skin almost made his lean muscles shine in the light of the dragon's fire. In leather armor, tasteful black jeans, and study boots, he stood tall in the face of the dragon with his handsome features only enhancing the heroic look.

"I thought you were on my side, man! Best friends forever, bros before hos, and all that crap," Seth shouted back as he darted away from his cover and towards the dragon's right side while it glared menacingly at the others to its left.

"Language!" Both Kendra and Bracken scolded him before scattering away when the dragon brought its claws down towards them.

Seth grinned widely because even after ten years, some things never changed. Like the fact that there he was on another quest of his own making. Twenty one years old and standing just one inch shy of six feet tall with lean muscles that he'd gained through hardship and training.

He was wearing his own favorite pair of black jeans with a dark maroon short-sleeve v-neck and a comfortable black leather jacket. He was also wearing black combat boots to complete the shadow charmer aesthetic he'd been really leaning into these past few years. And while he liked to think he has matured handsomely over the years, the only real comparison he's got was Bracken and let's be real, Bracken was on a whole nother grading scale.

Back to the quest though, it was basically just him finally getting around to fulfilling the final favor he owed the Three Sisters that they were only now cashing in. What was that favor you might ask? Why it was for Seth to go get the legendary sword Excalibur from its resting place at the bottom of the enchanted lake of Avalon where it was being guarded by the skeleton of the Red Dragon.

So there he was, fighting a magical dragon skeleton with his older sister and best bud for life (and nothing more, seriously Kendra stop looking at me like that) in an underground cave with the waters of the enchanted lake magically suspended above them and the sword in the stone positioned in the middle of said cave.

Seth made his way to the dragon's hind leg bones. He glanced over his shoulder to see Kendra and Bracken dodging yet another swipe from the dragon's claws.

"Whatever you're planning you better do it fast or else this dragon will be the least of your problems!" Kendra impatiently shouted at him.

"I'm working on it! Hold your goddamn horses!" he shouted back at her as he began his careful climb up the dragon's skeleton.

"Language!" she screeched as she swung her blade heavily in order to parry the dragon's snapping jaws. Its skull twisted to the side from the force of her blow.

Seth gulped at the display of yet another reason why he should never piss his sister off before returning his attention to scrambling his way across the spine towards the dragon's head. Once he managed to reach the point where the dragon's spine met its skull, he raised his blade up high. The sheen of his magical sword gleamed darkly as he brought it down in an arc and severed the dragon's skull from its neck.

The dragon's disembodied skull cried out in rage as its skeleton bucked and shook in response. Seth grabbed onto the bony prominence of one of its spinal bones as it reared back with a roar. The severed neck bone skimmed the bottom of the enchanted lake and the displaced water splashed onto him before the skeleton fell with a ground-shaking thud.

"Seth!" Kendra cried out in worry as dust rose up and covered the entirety of the skeleton after its fall.

Seth coughed as he carefully slid off the skeleton and down onto the ground. He waved the dust away from his face as he squinted and walked over to where he thought Kendra and Bracken were standing. A strange sensation passed over him and it felt like his clothes had grown a few sizes too large but he waved it off as adrenaline and the enchanted water doing crazy shit to his clothes.

Finally the dust cleared and Seth was met with the sight of Kendra and Bracken both gaping at him in shock. He also noticed that they both seemed to be taller than him but Bracken's always tall and Kendra was wearing boots with heels so he didn't think much of it.

He tilted his head in confusion and asked, "What's up guys? Something wrong with my face?"

And then the confusion grew when he heard how high his voice sounded, like it was back to its pre-puberty stages. "Whoa, why the hell does my voice sound like that?"

Kendra gave a long-suffering groan and dragged a hand down her face. "Of course. Of course something like this would happen, because my trouble magnet of a little brother literally cannot go on a single quest or a mission of any kind without being hit with some form of magic or curse or what have you."

Bracken's lips quirked up into a wry smile. "Well this is Seth we're talking about after all. He lives to cause as much chaos as he possibly can, whether he means to or not."

Kendra merely groaned again as she dropped her face into her hands.

Seth frowned. "Okay, what are you guys not telling me?" He asked before his eyes widened in realization. "Oh shit. Did I get cursed again?"

Instead of responding, Kendra lifted her head out of her hands and dug around in her ever present, yet always trusty bag. She pulled out a mirror and held it out to him. He took it with reluctant hands and slowly brought it up to his face.

What greeted him was the sight of his eleven-year-old face with not a single trace of puberty in sight. His jaw dropped as he quickly looked down at himself, realizing that the reason his clothes suddenly felt big wasn't because the water made it grow. It was because he'd been physically de-aged to the body of his eleven-year-old self.

He lifted his gaze back up to meet Kendra's long suffering expression and Bracken's reassuring but not really smile.

"It might not be permanent?" Bracken tentatively offered.

Kendra deadpanned at him. "Since when have we ever been that lucky?"

"Well shit," Seth finally said with whine, "Now Grandpa's definitely grounding me till the next century."

Kendra snorted and slapped Seth encouragingly on the back. "Good luck, bud. You're gonna need it."

And that's the start of another rewrite, redo, reboot, idk whatever. Just wanted to let y'all know that this is the next fic on my rewrite list though I'm also writing another new fic alongside it. Now I know what you're probably thinking, I should focus on my rewrites only cause you guys have been way too patient with me over the past decade and I'm thankful, I really am. But this is the way my motivation is going and I want to write where my motivation wills it cause no one wants to read a fic that the writer had to force into completion just cause they feel guilty about not making their readers happy.

Anyways, this fic, alongside the new one, will definitely be finished before the year is up and then I'll be getting to the rest of my rewrites while also writing new fics cause that's just apparently how I roll. So until next time, folks!
