Clara's POV

I leaned a bit heavier against Dick, and his arm draped softly over my shoulders. I was starting to get used to physical touch, but it was a slow process. I barely let him hug me, and I couldn't even imagine being that close to anyone else. I shook the thoughts out of my head and trained my eyes on the television screen in front of us.

It was playing a blockbuster movie, one that I'd seen a thousand times over. I was sure that no one else was paying attention, either. Thank god it was almost over. Another 'team bonding' activity that Aqualad had come up with. And he wasn't even here!

Besides, the whole team was already more than familiar with each other. They were a family. It felt like a miracle when the movie finally ended. The bright lights flicked on, and I flinched from the fluorescence.

The whole team was sprawled out in the common room of the Cave. Dick and I took up the majority of the couch, and M'gann and Garfield sat on the floor in front of us. Wally and Artemis ate chips on the loveseat, Superboy leaned against the wall and Zatanna was curled up on another couch.

Aqualad stalked into the room. "Oh," he said with genuine surprise. "The movie's over." We all nodded. The room went silent for a moment.

"Can we talk about your powers?" Gar blurted, twisting to look at me. "They're so cool." He grinned widely.

"I... guess," I said nervously. I hated talking about myself.

"I've been meaning to ask you," Dick said. "What can you all do? What's the limit of your power?"

I sighed. "So far, it's been invisibility, though I can't see anything when I'm invisible, resurrecting, summoning and seeing the dead, causing pain, death or unconsciousness, healing, portals..." I counted off on my fingers. "That's about it." He nodded slowly.

"Who taught you how to use them?" Aqualad asked.

My muscles tensed. Not this part of my past. Not now. "Um... Is it okay if I don't answer that?"

"We are not compelling you to do anything."

Dick gently squeezed my arm with a gloved hand, and I took a deep breath. "Okay. Okay. Her name was Amelia. She... she was the one who taught me everything I know." But not soon enough. Not until after... "But she betrayed me. So I sent her to a mental asylum."

Beast Boy's jaw hit the floor. M'gann and Zatanna glanced at each other, horrified, and Aqualad and Superboy were looking at me with surprise. Before anyone could breathe another word, Batman's voice blared over the intercom, as monotonous as ever. "All members, please report to the mission briefing area."

Everyone got up and made their way to the mission briefing area, except for Dick and me. He followed me back to my room and stopped me outside the door.

"Are you going to tell them?" he asked.

"That's my decision to make."

"Secrets tear people apart, you know," he warned. I nodded. I knew better than anyone.

"Anyway, now that you're part of the Team, you're going to need a suit. And a name."

"I have it covered."

"Care to enlighten me?"

I leaned in and softly kissed him on the cheek, then turned around and quickly slammed the door so that he couldn't see the blush that had crept onto my face. What was this boy doing to me?

Night Wing's POV

I made it to the mission briefing area, and it seemed like the only person we were waiting for was Clara. Batman was quickly losing his patience, and we started without her.

He pulled up a holographic panel with an image of a girl on it. She was sixteen years old, with long, bleached blonde hair and chestnut eyes. "This girl," said Batman, pointing at the panel, "is Jesse Wells. She has been missing for fourteen days, and her father has been looking everywhere for her. Her father, Harrison Wells, is the founder and CEO of STAR Labs." He pulled up another panel.

I saw where he was going with this. A potential favour from Wells, for saving his precious daughter.

"You will find the girl, rescue her and return her to her father yourself."

"Do we have any leads?" The words were out of my mouth the second Batman stopped talking. Just the way he taught me.

"Yes. She stole the lab helicopter and it was tracked to the eastern coast of Mexico, northeast of Mexico City."

I nodded. I heard footsteps behind me and turned around to see Clara standing there timidly.

"Well then, let's... go!" she said semi-enthusiastically.

She was wearing black combat gear with thin purple lines running along the edges. Her face was concealed within a black hood, decorated with swirls and whorls of various shades of purple. The suit clung to her body tightly, following every curve and line exactly. A purple gem glittered at her throat.

I stared at her, my mouth nearly hanging open. She was beautiful.

Clara's POV

Dick was staring at me. I fidgeted with my necklace. Did I look bad? I shook my head and straightened, crossing my arms over my chest. Self-doubt was a weakness, and I was not weak.

"Go save the girl." Batman's voice dragged everyone's attention away from me and back to him.

We all made our way toward the hangar, where the bioship rested.

"What about your name?" Dick whispered against my ear.

"I don't see why I can't just call myself 'Clara,'" I said.

He groaned. "That's so lame!"

I punched him playfully. "Who's gonna tell Artemis that?"
