Dearest Arpita,
It was a rainy day. I was rushing to school with an upturned umbrella and nearly soaked books. After all we were in the twelfth class back then. The seriousness of board exams was what brought us to school everyday.
I never told you about this day. But it was special.
It was the day I fell in love for the first time.
I kept this secret deep in my heart.
As I was saying, or rather writing, on that day I was nearly overrun by a car. In my rush to reach the school, I crossed the road without waiting for the signal.
The car stopped suddenly. Just a hair breath away from me. And he stepped out. He rushed to me and I was sure he was going to give me an ear full. But to my surprise, he was kind and asked if I was alright? Do I have to go to the hospital?
It was the kindness that tugged at my heart. And in that moment, I fell in love with the hazel-eyed boy.
And I love him still.
But I soon realised he was in love with someone else.
Thus ended my love story.
It's alright, he married the woman he loved and they lived happily. I can't ask for more. He was happy. And that made me happier.
I shall tell you more about this later. I must go help Payal with her homework.
With love,
Aarti.
Yash closed the journal with a sigh. Marti was in love with someone else. Yet she married the piece of shit.
Why?
They all thought, hell even Arpita thought, that Aarti married Prashanth, because she loved him.
But this, this was a proof to the contrary.
Why marry that scumbag?
Now, he will have to read the journal entries till the end, to uncover the deep secrets of his wife.
Wife.
Holy Shit! His wife was in love with someone else.
Oh God! How is he going to compete with this? A phantom?!
God help him.
With that troubling thought, Yash switched off the light and laid down on the bed.
Tomorrow, he shall take the children to the hospital.
For now, he shall sleep.
