3. Bryce's Conclusion.
"And that's what happened." Bryce said, concluding his story. "After we got back down on the ground, i paid a cab-driver to take me home so that i could see how my parents were doing in all this mess. I wanted to get home, 'cause i thought i'd be safe there. But at the same time, i had this eerie feeling that after this event, i would never see my Mom and Dad again. If i was right...i was completely on my own. Anyway, after dropping me off at my place, the cab-driver said "My you find what you're expecting" before driving off. And i said to myself "I hope i don't".
"But you did...didn't you?" Stine said.
"They were both gone...just like i feared." Bryce said, referring to his parents. "My Mom and Dad hadn't even gone to bed. I'm pretty sure they were calling around, looking for me. That's why i was riding around town on my bike today. I was trying to find them. I had this idea in my head that my parents were still around and hadn't vanished like the rest of the missing people. But i knew they had."
"So when you said you were looking for someone earlier, it was your parents." Stine said.
"Yeah. I thought they might be around town, looking for me. But they're not. They're just...they're just gone...like all the other missing people. They have to be. Their cars are still at home in the driveway...my Mom's purse, my Dad's wallet and their cellphones are still in the house. I knew they would never leave without those things, so...i figured they're gone." Bryce said.
Stine then noticed tears running down Charlotte's face. "Uh, are you okay there, Charlotte?"
Charlotte wiped the tears from her face. "That's kind of like what happened to me."
"Not me." Will said.
"Or me." Tommy added.
"You wanna tell us about it, Charlotte?" Stine asked.
"(Sniffs) No, you go." Charlotte said.
"Okay." Stine said before looking at the brown wavy-haired 10-year old boy. "Will, why don't you tell us your story then?"
"Uh...i don't know if i want to." Will said.
"Hey, we're all in the same boat here." Kyle reminded.
"I don't think so." Will said.
"Okay. How did you end up here?" Kyle asked.
"It's okay, you don't have to if you don't want to." Stine said to Will.
"No. It's okay, i will." Will said. "Uh, well...my name is Will Xander, as you all know by now...and, uh...i live in the suburbs of Los Angeles. My Dad travels a lot with his work, so...sometimes it's just my Mom and me. He was suppose to fly in from San Diego last night, so...i knew my Mom would be going to pick him up after i was in bed, but...i was surprised when i got up this morning and she still wasn't home."
