Hello everyone! Yes, it has been a very long time since I have updated. I would like to give you a few reasons as to why!

So, number one: I got accepted to the college I have been wanting to go to for almost 2 years in January, so I have been in the process of getting my living arrangements set up and getting everything ready that I would need for my classes and such.

Number two: I recently graduated! I had a very nice ceremony and got to put on a very pretty dress.

Number three: I got a job… and then I quit…. and I got another job! I used to work at a cafe/eatery and I am now helping run the summer program for the kids in my town!

Number four: I also now have friends, so that takes up a lot of my free time as well.

Number five: I also had my eighteenth birthday! You guys now know how old I am.

Number six: I have been working on getting my licence, I'm not a fan of driving so that is why it has taken me so long. I had my first driving test today and failed. My next one is in a month so let's hope I pass next time since I'll be heading off to college in another province soon after.

Now, that may not sound like much, and maybe it isn't but it has been enough to make me feel pretty drained. I hope you guys are pleased with this chapter! I would like you guys to know that this is the last chapter! I will only be doing an epilogue after this (maybe… only if you want one) and hope to get it out as soon as possible. Anyway… thanks for coming back!

It was a cold afternoon. The wind blew, causing snowflakes to come at me at an angle. I pulled the collar of my coat up towards my chin with both of my gloved hands in the hopes of finding some more warmth.

I did not yet want to enter the diner, worried about embarrassing myself in front of the man I was already deeply infatuated with. I worried I would say something stupid, or fall on my face on the way to the table he sat at. I knew he was already there…I was ten minutes late. My stress over the situation was overriding me, possibly causing me to mess up something great in the making.

I took another deep breath and walked towards the diner doors. The hanging sign swung in the wind, creaking in unison with the squeak of the door as I pulled it open. Immediately I felt warmer, the breeze halting and the snowflakes disappearing. I shivered as my body adjusted to the new temperature.

I scanned the room, quite honestly, afraid to find him. I worried I would find him sitting at a table, all alone, fuming at my tardiness. I worried he would be sitting with another, much more attractive, woman who had happened to show up when I was supposed to be there and sat with him. I worried he would be flirting with a waitress since he no longer had to worry about my presence.

But as my eyes swept from left to right across the room, that is not what I found. My eyes came upon a booth along the right wall right next to a window. There I saw him, his hands clasped together on the table, his eyes trained on them, his shoulders slumped, and his face saddened. I immediately felt awful for waiting as long as I did. I should have reached into the deepest parts of myself to force myself inside to avoid his possible heart break at my absence.

I let out a harsh breath and forced myself forward, afraid of how he would react to seeing me. His head was down, so he did not notice me until I stood at the end of the table.

"I'll just have some more water, please." He said quietly, assuming I was a waitress.

A small smile rose to my lips as I said "Well, I'll be right back with that then."

At the sound of my voice his head lifted. When he saw me standing next to him his eyebrows rose, his mouth opened, and his eyes widened.

"I'm so sorry Edward . . . " I stated, hoping he would forgive me. I decided to try to give him a reason for my being late. "I was just . . . a little nervous I guess. I'm sorry I'm late."

His shoulders sagged in relief and he shook his head lightly while letting out a huff. "I thought you weren't going to show. Better late than never, right?" He smiled up at me, his eyes twinkling with humour.

"I guess so. It won't happen again . . . I promise." I said as I sat down, removing my purse and sliding off my jacket.

"Alright. Sounds good." He picked up the menu in front of him and opened it, scanning its contents. "What's good here?"

The afternoon continued smoothly. We ordered our food and while we ate we proceeded to get to know eachother better. He was charismatic and kind. He listened when I had a story to tell and asked me questions, really showing me that he was paying attention to me. And in return, I listened to him and paid all of my attention to him as well.

We discussed more songs, our favourite books, where we wished to travel in the future, where we wanted to go with our lives career wise and lifestyle wise.

It was great . . . and we both wanted to do it again. We stayed together for the rest of the day, walking around the city, going into small shops and browsing the items, and eventually we ended up sitting on a park bench.

The sun was beginning to set, giving the sky a beautiful pink and yellow hue. We sat close together, our slides almost touching. After a while of silence and looking out past the horizon line and up at the sky I felt him take my hand in his.

I smiled and looked over at him. He was smiling back at me.

"I would like to do this again sometime." I spoke softly, gazing at his face. His cheeks and nose were rosy from the cool temperatures. "I mean . . . if you would like to as well." I bit my lip, nervous he would say no.

His smile widened. "I would love to." My smile widened as well. "I would like to try one thing if that is okay with you."

I nodded but did not speak. He gazed down at my lips and then back up at my eyes. He then brought the hand that was not holding mine up to my face to place on my jaw.

He leaned in slowly and his eyes fluttered closed.

I knew what he wanted to try.

And I wanted to try it too.

So, I closed my eyes and leaned in slightly, letting our lips meet.

His lips were soft and smooth, not like my slightly chapped ones. His hand moved more towards my neck and pulled me closer. I breathed out through my nose, wanting to prolong the moment.

And all I could think in that one moment, in which I wanted to draw out as long as possible, was . . .

Finally

Well… I hope you guys liked it! Let me know if you guys want an epilogue. I'm sorry this ended so abruptly but I just could not for the life of me think of where to take this story next, so I thought this could be about a cute couple getting together and that being it.

Thank you to everyone who has reviewed, favourited, and followed this story. It is you that I think about when I realise that I have not updated in months. I am not sure when I will start another story, hopefully soon, but you guys can follow me so you are notified when I post something new.

One more time… thank you! You guys are so sweet and kind when reviewing my story. Even if you hated the plot, the writing, or just the story all together, thank you for clicking on it and giving it a chance. It means the world to me when someone says they like the writing style or like a specific part of a chapter.

So… farewell for now and I hope to see you again on my next venture (which will most likely be another BxE story since I love them so much).

By all!
