CHAPTER 23!
Nerdy: yo people, got a new guest for you all. Go ahead and introduce yourself.
HelpingHand: Hello everyone, my name is HelpingHand. Nerdy and Bloody have asked me to act as their beta reader/editor for some of their stories. I'm a big fan of their work so I'm very happy I can help even in some small way. I will mostly be doing the story itself and not the AN or review replies.
Nerdy: Not to worry, everyone appreciates your help. And if anyone else wants to lend a hand, feel free to let us know.
HelpingHand takes a deep breath: Let me know if you can see a difference between the last chapter and this one, let me know if I'm doing a good job. I'm no professional but I'm trying my best. I'm open to hearing away I can improve so if you see a mistake drop a comment labeled for me or PM me. Nerdy and Bloody have told me I'm doing a good job but they might just be being nice and I'm not used to positive feedback but I'm sure comments on the internet will give me an honest opinion with no amount of hate in it.
PhantomKnightPercival: Thanks man, hope you like this one too. As for the moments from the comics, well, IDK. Maybe.
crossover-jojo-man -
Nerdy: pendragonZx - thanks, man.
Commandosquirrel: Well, here is the thing dude. How do you think demons are able to pass into the human realm and stay there? The answer is that a human contractor is needed, giving them an 'anchor' that keeps them in the human realm. Without Jaune as the HUMAN contractor, the original contract, received at the start of the series, which is the one allowing them into the human realm, would be rendered null if Jaune turned into a demon. A demon cannot make multiple contracts either, so they couldn't make Pyrrha the Contractor even if they wanted to prevent that. So long story short, although Jaune might end up in Hell at the end, him staying a human now is needed so they do not get yeeted by God's wrath back into Hell.
That should also be a final explanation as to why Jaune cannot become a demon.
The Fanfic Stealer: We ain't using ALL of the stuff from the comics, which is why that is not the case. However, I do another use for higher quality coffee.
Lucky Pickle: LOLOLOOL. Yeah man.
Nerdy: 8-bit pirate - we can try but it might be tricky.
246vili: Ah, yes. A decision one must take not with their mind, but with their heart.
Lewsx: Thanks man, really appreciate it.
Nerdy: Regarding the whole Arkos thing from a guest, as was said before, he will be sent to hell with the other girls if he becomes a demon. It's just the rules set by god. Would you want a million demons that could just come and go at will? Dear lord, the Grimm are already bad enough.
Also, to explain why Ignium was able to pass through with the boys, the reason was because of the other girls already there. The mansion where they live, although not visible, is drowned in demonic presence. Take it as an embassy of some sort, meaning that those grounds are seen as Hell's territory, allowing him and his pose to pass through. However, this is still tied to Jaune and the others, as the territory will remain for as long as he is there with the girls, a human, to act as the anchor keeping them there.
If he turns into a demon I already explained what will happen, but in addition, the mansion will also slowly become neutral, no-demons allowed ground again.
No sleep. That was the result of yesterday's events for Jaune, who was still on the sofa, three more cans of soda, and the TV running. He had some bags under his eyes, the events of last night having him shaken. Namely Azazel. He couldn't believe she was on her way to falling and becoming a demon.
He doesn't know if that is even a bad thing completely, but he guessed he should talk to someone about it. It was barely morning, the sun was barely rising outside, meaning that the girls were not yet awake and today he and Judgement were not training, so she was bound to be sleeping as well, so he decided to do something else.
He took the remote and typed in a triple six on the TV, watching the image change and bend, eventually stabilizing itself and the face of Ignium appearing on the screen. "Ah, Jaune - oh, my hells, boy, you look like shit!"
"A good day to you too, Ignium." Jaune replied tiredly and sarcastically, not feeling up to dealing with Ignium's usual antics and whatnot. "Listen, I won't bore you with stories, I just have a few questions about a certain subject."
"I mean, sure, depending on what you want to know."
"What can you tell me about falling?" Jaune asked.
"Pff. Well, if you trip or something you can end up busting your-"
"Angelic falling, Ignium." Jaune corrected himself and made it more clear. Ignium's expression immediately turned more serious and his eyes narrowed, his usual cocky grin vanishing as well.
"Why are you not asking Lucifer about it?" He asked.
"Because I want to keep it a secret...She asked me to." Jaune replied
"Azazel…" Ignium sighed, figuring it out. "She honestly lasted longer than I thought she would, considering who you got there. How bad is it?"
"She is dyeing her hair to hide it going white. I don't think she has been doing it for long, though." Jaune watched the Emperor of Hell think.
"Then it is likely she is not that far gone, yet. She can simply leave the presence of the others for the process to stop and her features to return to normal. However, I doubt that is something she has not thought about herself. She is a curious girl, after all, and that kind of person tends to be smart." Ignium said. "Let me guess: she wants to remain with everyone, but also doesn't want to fall? Tch. Such a mess, kid."
"Isn't there any other way?" Jaune asked, looking at Ignium. If there was anyone else other than the girls who knew a lot about falling then it was him, no one else.
"I am afraid not." And like that, Jaune's hopes were crushed. "Kid, you need to understand that Heaven's laws are strict, meaning there is barely any way to bend them or use loopholes. Azazel is only there thanks to her being your Guardian Angel, a position whose days are counted from the looks of things. But there is more." Ignium had Jaune's attention as he brought out an empty bottle, one Jaune recognized. "Remember the elixir I used on you? This used to be my venom before, a powerful ability to heal that I had when I was an angel, but when I fell it mutated. I managed to save a limited amount of it, which I used on you and gave your blood the same properties of it."
"What does that have to do with Azazel?" Jaune asked, feeling confused about the subject.
"Every ability Azazel has, including her healing, will be lost if she falls Jaune. That includes her ability to keep the demonic corruption of the girls in check." Ignium said, adding urgency to the matter. "She will become something else, Jaune, and even I cannot predict what abilities she might awaken when it happens. But that is a separate issue, your main one is that there is only one way to stop her falling…"
Jaune clenched his fist, feeling himself growing frustrated. This felt like before, back in Hell, when he couldn't do much for them without help. Even now, he was asking for help from Ignium, like last time. Did he even make any progress since he returned from Hell? He felt so...useless.
"But." Jaune's head shot up, hearing Ignium talk. "Although there is no way for YOU to stop her falling or HERSELF, there is no doubt in my mind and soul that HE can!"
"He?" Jaune echoed, then it struck him. "You mean God?!"
"Yes." Ignium confirmed. "He is usually a silent one, but your situation, Jaune, even if you have not realized it, has likely not gone unnoticed by his all-seeing eye. He will hear you pray to him, kid, but I do not know what he might do as an answer. If anything, I'd say you shouldn't try it. Praying is like inviting an angel into your home, like opening a gate. If you end up praying to him, know you might not get what you asked for."
"But there is a chance God might be able to do something for Azazel, correct?" Jaune asked, standing up from his seat. "Please, Ignium!"
"Of course!" The Emperor replied. "There is NOTHING God cannot do, but it is a risk. You are pretty buddy buddy with Lucifer, after all, among other demons. I remember him being pretty open-minded about things and forgiving, but this seems like a stretch. Besides praying to him to offer Azazel a solution, you should also consider making an offering to me out there. No goats, I prefer red meat. If you do, I should be able to expand my influence and protect you if some angelic squad of death comes about. I know for a fact Shade would not hold back if he found out they might hurt his little sister."
"I see…" Jaune said, feeling hopeful. "Thank you for the advice, Ignium."
"Anytime, Jaune. Now, I will leave you to your movie. This looks like a good one." And so, the TV went back to normal, allowing Jaune to see the movie play again. What Ignium told him had given him a lot to think about, but for now, he was finally starting to feel sleep overtake him. He yawned, picking up the cans and going to the kitchen to throw them in the trash before going up the stairs, passing the rooms of the girls on his way to his own room.
Once there he didn't even bother taking his clothes off and just collapsed right on the bed, passing out within a second's notice.
Later, the girls were gathered in the kitchen where Lucifer and Monica were doing the cooking, Pyrrha coming down to see them there along with Malina, Beel, and Modeus as well. "Good morning, everyone." Pyrrha said, greeting them.
"Good morning, Pyrrha." Beel said, greeting her back. "Sleep well?"
"Yes." Pyrrha took a seat, noticing the girls cooking. "Where is Jaune? I thought he did the cooking usually."
"I went to him, but I found him passed out on his bed." Malina took a swig from her drink. "He looked like me after all-nighter playing games, but I could tell there was more. Something kept him up all night."
"Not to mention I also found several cans of soda when I went to take out the trash this morning," Beel said. "Any idea what could have happened to him, Pyrrha?" The redhead tensed up a little, thinking of what she saw Jaune doing last night. The brilliant golden light, the powerful Aura he displayed. But it wasn't probable that he trained all night for that, it just wasn't! He was smarter than that, smarter than just spending all night training like that after the day he had! It was too much, no matter who you asked, and wouldn't yield him any bonus results.
"Nothing comes to mind." Pyrrha replied.
Lucy scoffed. "Whatever it is, I will need to have a word with him about it. He is no good if he spends all night long moping about something."
"Maybe give him a bit, Lucy?" Monica suggested as she cooked. "As Malina said, he likely stayed up all night long, so we should let him sleep for now. We will make a plate for him as well and store it up, so he can warm up later."
"Wonder what kept him. Do you guys think Modeus got to him?" Malina asked, causing a slight reaction from them that Pyrrha didn't notice.
"Malina, I am pretty sure we would have noticed if Modeus did anything of such a devilish nature to him." Beel said, making sure to drop the right hints so Malina can pick them. True, they couldn't hump Jaune yet because of that. "Besides, he was likely in the living room all night, so proof would have been obvious."
Pyrrha blushed a bit. "Proof?"
"Don't worry about it." Beel said, defusing the situation. "Regardless, whatever made him like that must be pretty serious."
"I will ask Justice to talk to him, see what she can find out." Lucifer said, dropping her own hint there. "The two of them are pretty close, so I am sure she can get the truth from him."
"Hey, don't you think he is allowed to keep a secret or two for himself? I mean, I know all of us are." Malina said, earning herself a pinch from Beel. "Ouch! What the hell was that for?! I meant something like the fact Zdrada is wearing contacts!"
"Since when did you know?!" Zdrada shouted from the living room.
"See? I meant that KIND of secret." Malina finished, returning to her drink. "Fuck, not like any of us has a secret boyfriend or anything."
"Still, I am worried about him. Has this happened before?" Pyrrha asked.
"With his intense training? Yes, it has, but we usually know the cause, that being Judgement training him hard." Lucy said. "This is the first time it happened and we do not know the cause, though, and that is what has us uneasy."
"What if he is sick?" Pyrrha asked, feeling worried for him. "Maybe he has a fever or something that didn't let him sleep at night?"
"I am pretty sure Aza would've noticed it, she is pretty good being the little doctor of the house." Malina replied. "Speaking of, she has been acting kind of strange lately."
"How so?" Pyrrha asked.
"Well, for starters, she has started to spend more time in her room lately." Malina said. "She isn't getting out as much and she seems to be taking a liking to hoodies."
"I mean, when we met him, Jaune wore hoodies all the time." Beel said, dropping the little info. "Specifically, he had a Pumpkin' Pete's hoodie!"
"Oh my! I actually worked for them!" Pyrrha said. "The cereal is not that good, but the hoodies they did offer were very comfortable! I have one myself!"
"Huh. Maybe you can get Jaune a new one." Monica said. "His old one got damaged." She was referring to the fact he went with it in Hell, fought like a mad man, and it got kind of ripped. Although it was somewhat fixed, a new one didn't hurt. "But that aside, can one of you call the others down? Food is ready."
"I'll do it!" Malina offered, getting up from the table and going around the house, calling the girls. Until evening, the girls, including Pyrrha, have all simply talked at the table, Pyrrha exchanging a few words with them. They shared some stories about their time with Jaune since meeting him, making sure to leave out the demonic bits, and Pyrrha shared some of hers from Sanctum. It was a peaceful environment, not a hectic one like how Jaune was used to living with those girls.
Later, towards the evening, Jaune woke up and went downstairs where he found Lucifer in the kitchen. The demon Queen turned her head to him, showing a clear scowl on her lips. "Look who decides to wake up." She said, clearly not pleased with Jaune having slept in. "Care to explain what happened?"
Jaune sighed, simply going to her and making sure to whisper so no one else hears. "I know you will just have Justice draw the truth from me, so I will be frank; Azazel is falling." Lucifer scoffed.
"I know that already." She said, surprising him. "Oh, please, do you think something like that could go unnoticed by the likes of I? I knew from day one that the girl would lose her halo, but I must say she lasted longer than expected. A lot longer."
"I see…" he sighed, running a hand through his hair. He was clearly troubled by the situation, which Lucifer noticed and got closer to him, trying to comfort him. "Ignium suggested I pray to God." He said and Lucifer flinched, feeling her skin crawl just hearing the name being spoken in her presence. But she realized why he did so, knowing full well that the only being able to stop Azazel from falling was her creator himself, God. Even Lucifer didn't have that kind of power, but there was a whole 'nother issue on the line here.
"Jaune." Lucifer said, letting him turn to her. "If you pray, you would open a way for angels to possibly reach our home."
"I know, Ignium told me." He said. "But what options do we have? I just...I don't want Azazel to fall because of me, even if it becomes her choice, how do we know she won't regret it later?" He was getting angrier. "I refuse to let an angel fall because of me, Lucy!"
"Then don't let her!" Lucifer replied with equal passion, managing to surprise Jaune. "Go now, but not here. If you start praying all of the girls, except Pyrrha, will feel like their skin is crawling on their backs. Do it outside, somewhere far enough in the woods. Once you are done, return inside...And wait."
"Wait?" Jaune echoed.
"God doesn't work in visible ways, Jaune." Lucifer explained. "His methods have always been subtle, invisible to the naked eye. We won't know if he listened to you until the very decisive moment when Azazel sleeps with you."
Jaune remained silent for a bit, then he sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. "There is no other option then."
"Yes." Lucifer said. "However, before you go, eat. After that, I do not care what you get up to, but I won't have you starve." Jaune chuckled at Lucifer's words, finding them quite funny all things considered.
"Well, I guess I am already damned since the devil is concerned for my health." He joked lightly, earning a blush and a punch in the arm from Lucifer.
"Just go."
Listening to Lucifer, Jaune ventured deep into the woods with his weapons in case he encountered any Grimm, eventually being barely able to see his house from here. With a deep breath, Jaune got down on his knees on the snowy ground, ignoring the cold. Then he brought his hands together to pray to God, firmly believing he was listening.
"God, if you hear me, please hear my prayer." Jaune began, and certainly enough, the wind picked up a bit. Coincidence? Likely. "I pray not for me or my soul, but for another. Azazel, one of your angels. I know she has broken your laws, first by going to Hell and now by living with Hells' worst in what one could call a sinful situation. But I can tell that she deeply cares for all of us, and I mean all of us, despite the others being demons!"
The wind picked up a little bit more, the heavy clouds gathering above and showing the tell-tale signs of a blizzard cooking. "Please, do not let her fall!" He said, looking up. "She really wants to remain with us, but at the same time, she is torn between us and you. I hate to see her like this, Lord! I know I am possibly the last person you'd want to hear prayers from, considering my sins, but please! Do not punish Azazel for it! She only...She only loves us…"
"She loves us just as I am damn sure we all love her!" He continued. "Isn't love the ultimate virtue? That which pushes us to be diligent, which makes us kind, that grants us courage? If she loves us, then why punish her for it, God? Please!"
The wind howled strongly, but Jaune knelt unmoving even as the snow began to fall and a blizzard formed. But still, he just prayed, kneeling there without moving. "If you need to...Then smite me here." He whispered and the clouds above seemed to have torn a bit, letting just a small ray of sun hit the ground before him. "Punish me instead of her - smite me so she won't fall!"
"How dare he ask the Lord for-"
"No!"
"Gab-"
"Let him. His devotion to that one girl is strong and I can tell his love is true. Let the Lord decide."
The snow continued to fall, but as it did, Jaune looked at the spot where the sun was just a second ago, seeing it now barren of any light. The blizzard was getting worse and knowing what might happen if he got sick Jaune decided that he had to end it here. "God, if what Ignium says about you is true...Then please find the kindness and understanding to offer Azazel a way." He said before picking himself up and leaving, returning to the house before the blizzard got worse.
Once he got back to his house he closed the door behind himself, shaking himself of the snow. "Jaune?" Then he turned around, seeing Pyrrha there in another turtleneck sweater, but this one was yellow in color. "What were you doing outside in such weather?"
"Oh, nothing." He said, trying not to say anything that might worry her. "I just went to check around for any possible Grimm and take care of them before they became a problem." He replied, putting on his best smile to her as he went to the living room, Pyrrha following him. He put his weapons down next to the sofa and he let out a long sigh.
Pyrrha took a seat next to him. "So, what d-did you do last night? Malina said you pulled an all-nighter or something."
"Oh, that." He said, clearing his throat a bit. He had to come up with a good story. "Well, I went outside to train. " A truth. "I do those at times behind Judgement's back, helps me keep up better with her."
"She does seem like a pretty capable woman." Pyrrha said, agreeing with him on that front. "She would have been a great Huntress."
"Woe to the Grimm if she ever became a licensed one!" Jaune joked, earning a giggle from Pyrrha. "Seriously, she is insane! You should see her in action with those chains of hers!"
"Her Semblance?" Pyrrha asked.
"Yeah, they are really strong." Jaune said, reminding himself of the durability the chains had when she used them on him back in Hell. "To be honest, they seem to be made of Aura and I cannot really tell just HOW powerful they are. I think it depends on how much Aura she puts into them."
"That does make sense." Pyrrha muttered.
"Yeah. I usually go and work on some of my own moves." He said, and Pyrrha remembered him using the Aura technique. She still cannot believe he is capable of such things with the minimal amount of training received, as most would need years to reach that level. But she guessed that thanks to his Semblance and possible natural talent he had an edge. "But even then, I am not going to rest until I am fully prepared for Beacon!"
"That's the spirit!" Pyrrha said, encouraging him. "I was going to ask for that spar you promised me, but the weather is a bit...discouraging. Not to mention the time is not really good."
"I guess." It was already starting to get dark outside, meaning the evening was settling in. "Sorry about that, Pyrrha."
"It's fine, Jaune, truly. I got to talk with the others some more and discovered some very interesting things! I especially discovered that I and Monica have more in common than I imagined!" Somehow, that sends a bad chill down Jaune's spine. "Anyway, do you wish to turn on the television? I think the weather broadcast is on right now. "
"Sure, I'd like to know when this blizzard is going to stop." Jaune said and grabbed the remote, turning on the TV and immediately seeing the weather channel.
" - at least one week!" And right away, the bad news is thrown in his face. Go figure his shit luck strikes again! "The heavy clouds which have settled over the continent of Anima carry with them a fierce blizzard bound to last for at least one entire week! It is highly recommended not to get out of the house during this time and stay inside, as the Grimm are known to attack more during bad weather events! Not to mention we expect the wind to pick up greatly, and even receive reports of people getting stuck inside because of snow blocking their doors! So make sure you are well stocked!"
"An entire week?" Pyrrha seemed nervous for some reason. "Oh my, I might have to give a few calls to let everyone know my little vacation might get extended."
"I wouldn't hurry with that, actually." Jaune said. "They said it was bound to last at least one week, not that it will last that long. So maybe it will calm itself just enough for you to leave when the time comes." Pyrrha frowned a bit at those words, Jaune not choosing them very wisely. Granted, he didn't notice.
"I guess." She said, then she switched the channels for a bit, occasionally looking outside. "Wait, weren't the triplets living out in a separate house?"
And suddenly, the realization hit Jaune. They were going to need to bring Cerberus inside the house, weren't they? Well, that was bound to get interesting really quick with the hyper-energetic triple demon. Granted, his hopes were also that everything will remain alright in the end and that his prayer landed on the listening ears. Hopefully, he won't wake up with an entire angelic inquisition at his doorstep any time soon.
The rest of the evening passed pretty well with everyone having dinner. They decided to huddle together in the living room to watch some movies, and in the end, Cerberus was brought in. The girls made a dash for Pyrrha, their energetic nature showing quite easily as they ran and jumped around. Granted, when it came time for the movie, one of them was peacefully watching, half-asleep, with Pyrrha patting her head. Another one was next to Judgement, watching the movie with glee and another was hiding behind the couch because of the strong noises coming from the TV.
Later, however, after both Jaune and Pyrrha went to sleep, the demon girls gathered in the living room, including Azazel, to discuss Pyrrha once again and their opinions on her. Judgement hated to admit that the blizzard put a dent in their plans, but she gave her ok for Pyrrha in the end based on her performance at the Selection. Malina also gave her ok, along with her sister, who didn't really care. In truth, however? She had been talking with Pyrrha about some stuff and she came to like her company. Pandemonica admitted that she seemed pretty responsible, so she gave her ok as well. Modeus gave hers afterward, followed by Cerberus, then Lucifer, and Beel. Azazel also gave her ok on the redheaded human girl. Justice said she really wanted to see more of Pyrrha as well, which is how she gave her own ok on the matter.
With the votes out of the way, Lucifer smirked. "Well girls, it looks like our ranks have increased by one." The Queen of Hell said.
"Woohoo!" Justice said, already celebrating. "Man, I cannot wait to break the news to Pyrrha!"
"Easy there, Justice, we still need to set up for us revealing our demonic nature to her." Monica said, being the voice of reason there. "We cannot walk up to and reveal ourselves as demons and ask her to join the harem."
"She is right, girls." Beel said, backing up Monica. "We need an opportunity. How is her attraction to Jaune, Mo?"
"She is attracted to him." Modeus said. "I picked up her lust whenever I brought up subjects like a shirtless Jaune, making sure to be detailed. I could tell she was getting naughty thoughts in her head. All she needs is a little push as I believe she is fairly shy to admit her own feelings."
"Or she thinks they are too young." Judgement argued. "It could be that she is unsure if she really likes him."
"That is a possibility, yes." Beel said.
"Well, how about we make her say it?" Malina suggested. "Not like it could be that hard to get a human to talk, right? We could always get her drunk to talk and maybe fuck Jaune so we can fuck him afterward."
"I agree with Malinka on that one!" Zdrada said.
"I doubt she'd appreciate us using her only so we can fuck Jaune without worry." Lucifer added, then she looked at Azazel. "What do you think, Azazel? What should we do in this situation?"
The angel shuffled nervously a bit, looking around. "Well, umm, we could always create an opportunity?"
"We like the sound of that!" Cerberus said.
"Create an opportunity, huh?" Beel said, thinking about the idea. "Not bad sounding. However, what kind of opportunity? It has to be something really good to have her confess."
"How about we trick Pyrrha into Jaune's bath while he's bathing?" Modeus suggested. "It could also lead to them doing the deed and opening the gate for us."
"Too obvious." Lucifer argued. "It has to be something more subtle, she has to WANT to go to him and confess."
"Well, not like we had been making him look bad to her all this time." Justice said. "I am pretty sure some of us exaggerated some things here and there to make him seem like a real adonis!"
"Oh please, how could you tell I was saying bullshit!" Zdrada said, giving herself up. "Besides, none of us know the size of his junk!"
"I would if they didn't stop me before." Modeus said, whining a bit as she remembered the wasted chance. "From what we know we might have just walked into a tiny trap."
Judgement and Justice both scoffed at that. "Girl, try seeing him in gym shorts!" Judgement said. "Believe me, we are good."
"I second that! I managed to cop a small feel once in the gym and I can tell you he seems pretty nicely equipped!"
"Regardless of Jaune's phallus!" Azazel changed the subject. "I think it is safe to say that this will be a team effort!"
"Indeed." Lucifer said, agreeing to the angel. "We will all need to put in some work to make sure this works. We cannot risk a disaster befalling our little operation."
"Like that one time, Baphomet charmed the captain of the Templars and caused the entire order to be killed?" Monica asked, to which Lucifer sighed.
"Yes, Monica, and please try to keep that...odd demoness out of discussion." Lucifer replied, trying not to remember that one demoness. Hell be praised she didn't meet Jaune or came into his path while down in Hell, or else everything would be several times more fur-filled around here.
"With that being said, let us all now return to our rooms to sleep!" Beel said, but she saw how a few of them seemed to look down with blushes on their faces. However, as they did, the blizzard outside raged on, the winds howled with strength and the trees, naked with no leaves, visibly shook from their might.
When Beelzebub set the barrier that kept Grimm out, she set multiple seals around the perimeter of the house to make sure they stayed out. Those seals carry with them a powerful enchantment preventing them from being removed by the Grimm or accidental human interaction, but that night, as the winds howled throughout the forest around, one of the seals was in a dire spot. Placed upon a tree sat a purplish pentagram, but the sound of wood creaking and breaking started to be heard.
The wind howled and the tree shook under its might, but then from beneath the carpet of snow below, a bulge grew with each gust of savage mid-winter blizzard wind. Slowly, the winds, so mighty, toppled the tree and from beneath the snow, its roots became visible. As nature commands, this tree will turn into a log and give space for a new tree to grow, but there is another issue.
Once the tree fell, the seal became damaged, the bark having cracked so violently that it no longer worked. As such, a hole formed in the mansion's defenses, and as soon as it did, the large steps of a Grimm were heard, attracted by the negativity produced by the household. Namely the sisters.
This Grimm had been traveling for miles away tracking this trail, its breath labored and slow, and body massive and littered with spikes coming from its back. It walked on four legs like heavy stumps, and bone-like plates covered them in sections, up even on his chest and his head was half-covered too. A part of its face looked ruined, burned even. It was a scar left by a Huntsman whom it overpowered and killed in the end, with its red glowing eye shining through the half-open eyelashes. The other part of its face was still covered in the usual bone-like plating, but there was a detail setting this Grimm apart from the normal ones.
On the pikes on its back lay the skulls of multiple humans whom it attacked and killed over the years, be they Huntsman or not. This was an Ursa, but not a normal one. It was no Ursa Major, but an older, fiercer Grimm. The Ursanus, a rare variety of Ursa that has lived for at least one entire century, is feared for its great size and constitution. In legends known as Grimm who can tank rockets, who can go through steel walls without problem, and that can crush the head of a Goliath in one bite.
A Grimm worthy of the most horrific of stories, and now, it was marching upon Jaune's household, where he and the girls lived. The demons may be powerful, but they have yet to face a Grimm of this caliber so far. They are likely to prevail, but...What about the two humans and the angel living there?
Done! Sorry for the long wait and the shorter chapter guys, but as always, stuff's been hectic the chapter was short, there was a lot of things that had been set up here for future chapters, and the next couple of chapters are bound to be the most thrilling ones yet as we reach the middle point of our journey to Beacon and the end of Jaune's virgin saga draws near.
