Chapter 3

The quintet landed inside a lavish decorated drawing room. "I'm going to be sick." Hermione said sitting down on the couch.

"Side apparating is never easy for new people." Theo said, trying not to chuckle, Hermione just glared at him.

"Let me show you to your room, then you can rest until dinner." Adrianna said. With a groan Hermione got back up and with Ginny followed Adrianna through the manor. The two girls looked around as they walked, marveling at the elegance of the manor and how it was a mixture of honey and antique. "Right now the room is plain. White walls, hardwood floors, grey sheets and comforters. Right now there are two twin beds in there, one for each of you, but if you want to come more often you can decorate the room how you'd like and Miss Weasley will get her own room." Ginny's eyes widen.

"So I can spend time with Hermione without sharing a room with her?" Adrianna raised an eyebrow.

"Of course, we have plenty of rooms here, Misters Weasley and Potter could even have their own rooms if they desire. Though based on how they acted just now I doubt that will be anytime soon."

"They worry a lot, especially with the war brewing." Hermione said. "Right now Harry is convinced that Malfoy, Malfoy younger I guess I should say, is a death eater." Adrianna did not say anything as she paused at a door and opened it.

"Well, we are here, Theo will be here to help you find your way to dinner. See you later." With that she turned and left. Hermione looked at Ginny confused, she just shrugged in response.

"You got me." Ginny said walking into the room and placing her duffle bag on a bed.

Hermione laid on her bed flipping through decor magazines, Ginny laid on her own bed doing the same thing. "Do you think I'll be able to decorate my room here?"

"I don't see why not," Hermione answered. "We can ask Theo when he gets here." Just as she finished her sentence there was a knock on her door. "Speak of the devil." Hermione hopped off her bed and opened the door to reveal Theo.

"Ready for dinner?" He asked walking into the room.

"Yup, though I'm so nervous I'm not sure I'll be able to eat anything." Hermione said as she and Ginny followed Theo out of the room and down the hall.

"You'll be fine, when mum returned from showing you to your room she was talking about how excited she was that you were here and was freaking out about if you would like dinner as she doesn't know your favourites or anything."

"Guess it's a good thing I don't have any food allergies." Hermione jokes.

"Very true," Theo said as they entered a room to find Theodore and Adrianna sitting at a table waiting for them. Theo sat down beside his mother while Hermione sat beside her father and Ginny sat between the twins.

"So," Adrianna started as she got some food off her plate. "Do you have any questions for us?"

"Were you really in Ravenclaw?" Hermione asked. "Snape told me you were, but I was wondering."

"Yes, I was in Ravenclaw when I went to Hogwarts, we actually met, officially, through Professor Slughorn." Adrianna explained.

"You two were part of his slug club thing?" Hermione asked in surprise.

"Yes," Theodore answered. "Your mother was the only part of those meetings that I found enjoyable."

"Those meetings are...interesting." Ginny said.

"You go?" Adrianna asked.

"Yeah," Ginny said. "I was on the train to Hogwarts and Slughorn passed by as I sent a Bat-Bogey Hex to a student, he was impressed and invited me." Adrianna and Theodore laughed at that.

"You are going to be an interesting one Miss Weasley." Adrianna said before turning to her daughter. "Now Hermione, tell me about your classes." Hermione, as well as Theo, spent the rest of the meal talking about their classes. At the end of the meal Theo walked with Ginny and Hermione to their room. "In the morning after breakfast I'll give you an actual tour of the house." He said as they reached the room. "Will you be okay to get to the dining room by yourselves in the morning?"

"We should be," Hermione said. "Night Theo."

"Night." With that he left towards his room and the girls went into theirs and went to sleep.

The following morning, after getting lost only once, Hermione and Ginny made it to the dining room. Theo and Adrianna were already there, Adrianna sat reading The Daily Prophet while drinking tea while Theo, reading a different section of The Daily Prophet, was eating some toast. "Good morning." Hermione and Ginny chorused as they sat down and started eating. "Good morning." Adrianna said, giving the two girls a smile. "How did you sleep?"

"I don't remember it so it must have been good." Hermione said, earning a quizzical look from Adrianna and Theo. "It's a saying my adopted mother says."

"Muggles." Theo muttered with a shake of his head before returning to his paper.

"Excuse me?" Hermione asked her brother, giving him a look.

"You look like McGonagall when you make that face." Theo said, trying to avoid the anger that was brewing in his sister. After three years of shared classes and forced study groups he knew that look.

"I know your family has certain...views that I don't agree with. Mainly about muggles. But I would like you to treat my views with respect and keep your comments like that to yourself." Hermione said, her voice cold.

"It's not that we hate muggles." Theo tried and Ginny just shook her head.

"I'd stop," She whispered to him. "She's about to act even more like McGonagall if you don't stop."

"Never mind." Theo said looking down. Hermione continued to glare at him for a moment before returning to her breakfast.

"Okay then, I have to go, I am meeting Narcissa to discuss a charity event, I will see you three at lunch." With that Adrianna excused herself from the table and walked out of the room.

"Shall I show you the house?" Theo asked standing up. "We can start in the library."

"I guess." Hermione said, still a little annoyed with him about the muggles comment. Ginny just sighed as she followed the twins out of the room, this was going to be a long day.

After spending the morning showing Hermione and Ginny around, and Hermione making a map to help them until they get used to the house, the trio went into the library to work on their homework. After a while a house elf appeared informing them that lunch was ready and that Adrianna was sorry but she would not be joining them. Ginny groaned the minute she saw the house elf, and after spending all of lunch with Hermione ranting about house elf rights, Theo understood the groan. "They like to work," Theo tried to reason with Hermione as they walked back to the library. "You can ask any of our house elves, they like to work."

"Only because they don't know any better." Hermione argued.

"How does my essay sound?" Ginny interrupted hanging Hermione with her parchment. "I like it but the wording sounds weird to me." Hermione instantly fell silent as she read over Ginny's essay.

"Thank you." Theo whispered to Ginny who just shook her head.

"After her S.P.E.W. attempt in third year Ron, Harry, and I learned how to distract her when she got bad."

"I thought her S.P.E.W. thing was in fourth year?" Theo asked. "I remember the pin."

"I'm a year below you, remember? To me it was the third year."

"Here you go Gin," Hermione said, handing the parchment back to Ginny, red ink markings covering the page. "Most of it was good, just a few word changes and you'll be ready to give it to Flitwick."

"Thanks Hermione." Ginny said, taking out a fresh piece of parchment and starting writing.

"At least she knows how to do her work," Hermione whispered to Theo. "Ron and Harry wouldn't do their homework if I didn't look over their shoulder the entire time."

"Well my brother is an idiot," Ginny said. "And Harry seems to be as stupid as my brother, which sucks because I feel stupid for having a crush on him up til a few years ago."

"Try until last year when you finally started dating other people." Hermione said.

"Let's just do our homework." Ginny said returning to her homework causing Hermione and Theo to laugh.

At dinner Hermione looked at her father quizzically as he sat her beside him with Ginny beside Theo on the other side and Adrianna at one end of the table. "I am so sorry my dear." He said as he walked out of the room.

"What's going on?" Hermione asked her mother who just gave her a weak smile causing the three teens to share a confused look. A second later Theodore walked back in with a man with light brown hair and red eyes. Instantly Hermione and Ginny stiffened and shared a look of horror.

"Miss Nott, Miss Weasley." The man said as he took the seat at the end of the table opposite of Adrianna. "Sorry for the intrusion, but I needed to see the mysterious daughter one of my followers kept from me."

"Voldemort." Hermione said, shooting a glare at her father.

"Don't be mad at your father," Voldemort said. "He didn't exactly have a choice, either I joined you for dinner or your family would die." The group just sat in silence. "So tell me about yourself, how does it feel being raised a mudblood only to find out you're actually from a very pure blooded family?" Hermione just flinched but refused to say anything. "I remember you from last year, at the Ministry. Granted you look different, but when I was told who you were a few days ago I remembered. Potter's little mudblood, the brightest witch of her year." Theodore and Adrianna took both of Hermione's hands with a squeeze which Hermione returned quickly. "Speak to me or your darling twin will be hexed in a matter of seconds."

"I don't know what to say," Hermione said hesitantly. "It isn't often I meet the most powerful dark wizard in history." Voldemort smirked.

"Are you scared Miss Nott?" He asked, eyeing Hermione and Ginny. "What about you Miss Weasley? You're from a family of blood traitors right?" With a cackle Voldemort got up. "I'll be leaving, I will be seeing you again Miss Nott, hopefully I won't be seeing you again Miss Weasley. I do hate blood traitors." With that he walked out of the room and everyone gave a sigh of relief.

"I am so sorry." Theodore said. "He told me he was going to come one way or the other. I could either invite him or he could introduce himself to you as he killed all of you."

"I know," Hermione reassured her father. "But I am going to go call it a night, we will discuss everything in the morning." With that Hermione got up and walked out of the room, not missing the worried looks on everyone's faces.

The following morning Hermione beat everyone to the dinning room for breakfast so she sat in the dining room when Theodore and Adrianna walked in. "I am so sorry my dear." Theodore said as he sat down beside her. "Are you okay sweetie?" Adrianna asked Hermione a small hug.

"I don't know, I haven't really slept, just trying to process what happened last night." Hermione admitted

"We'd understand if you want to go back to Hogwarts after breakfast." Adrianna said placing her hand on top of Hermione's.

"No, I don't want Harry or Ron to find out about last night." Hermione said as Theo and Ginny walked in. "They already don't trust you two, if they find out He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named met me they'd never let me out of their sights."

"Very true," Ginny said, sitting between Adrianna and Theo. "They are very protective of me and Hermione, Ron said I was slut because I've had two boyfriends."

"How rude." Adrianna said. "I had already dated five guys before I married Theodore, there's nothing wrong with a little experience." Theo looked like he was going to throw up causing Hermione and Ginny to start laughing.

"What about you Hermione?" Adrianna asked. "Have you dated anyone?"

"I dated Victor Krum during fourth year." Hermione said. "And a little bit over the summer between fourth and fifth year."

"Victor Krum," Adrianna said. "The seeker for Bulgaria and the champion for Dumstrung?"

"That's the one." Hermione said. "He asked me to the ball and we dated for a little bit the rest of the school year." The rest of the morning the group spent in the living room learning more about each other and their history. After lunch Theo and Hermione apparated to Hogsmeade, with Ginny sideapparating with Hermione. "Now remember," Hermione whispered to her brother and friend. "Ron and Harry do not find out."

"Agreed." With that the trio walked to the castle, discussing what to tell Ron and Harry along the way.
