Chapter 4
That night Hermione and Ginny told Ron and Harry about their weekend. "Did they give any signs that he works for Voldemort?" Harry asked, earning a groan from the girls.
"My biological father is not a Death Eater Harry." Hermione scolded him.
"So nothing bad happened while you were there?" Ron asked.
"No, nothing bad happened. Now I do want to go to sleep so I will see you guys at breakfast." With that Hermione walked up to her room. "Where have you been?" A girl with long curly blond hair asked Hermione.
"I was with my parents Lavender." Hermione said, trying to ignore Lavender and the Indian girl as she changed.
"So are the rumors true?" The girl asked. "Are you really Theo Nott's twin sister?"
"Yes Pavarti," Hermione sighed. "I was born Tabitha Nott." Instantly Lavender and Pavarti started talking amongst themselves and Hermione groaned as she crawled into her bed. Across the castle Theo sat in his common room with his friends. "How did it go?" Daphne asked, from her place beside him.
"It was great until he invited himself to dinner Saturday." Theo said, accepting a glass from a dark skinned boy.
"That's why he was talking to Theodore after the meeting." Draco said. "I saw them talking before I left. Potter and Weasel must be freaking out."
"I doubt they know," Theo said with a shake of his head. "Hermione wanted to keep it from them, I'm not sure you six should know. Blaise what the bloody hell is this?"
"Special brew from Italy." The dark skinned boy responded with a shrug. "My mom sent it to me." Theo just rolled his eyes as he took another sip. "How did she take it?" Daphne asked.
"Surprisingly well, she seemed scared to death for a few moments then gathered her Gryffindor courage and actually spoke to him. I think he was impressed."
"She actually spoke to him?" Draco asked.
"Only a sentence but yeah," Theo said. "Granted he threatened to hex me but still. I was impressed."
"So was the Dark Lord." Snape said as he walked in, Blasie automatically hid the bottle he had. "I already saw it Zabini." Blaise gave a slight blush. "The Dark Lord came to me after being at your house Nott."
"What did he say?" Theo asked.
"He was impressed that she managed to gather the courage to speak to him, let alone a full sentence while Miss Weasley barely said a word to him. He wants me to see if I can use your family and her issues with Mister Weasley to get her to spy for him." Instantly five of the seven teens, two brunet boys not even listening to Snape, started laughing.
"Good luck with that Snape." Theo said.
"I doubt Granger, er Nott, will willingly do anything for him." Draco said.
"Yeah, the goody-goody will probably freak out at just the suggestion." Pansy laughed. Snape just shook his head.
"Either way, will you tell your sister to meet me in my office after breakfast." With that Snape walked out of the common room to laughter from the teens.
"Hey Hermione," Theo said, approaching Hermione and Ginny as they walked to breakfast the next morning. "Snape wants to see you after breakfast."
"Why?" Hermione asked.
"He went to Snape last night and I'll let him finish the explanation." With that Theo headed towards his table while Hermione and Ginny walked to theirs. During breakfast Hermione kept looking at Snape and when he left she excused herself from her friends and followed and went and met Snape in his office. Barely a second after knocking on his office door Hermione heard a quiet come in. "Professor Snape?" Hermione asked as she entered the office. "Theo said you wanted to see me."
"Yes, sit." Hermione obiendenty sat. "The Dark Lord has asked me to try and convert you." Hermione made a face and was about to protest before Snape held up a hand. "Don't worry, your brother and his friends have...explained why that would be a wasted effort. They actually laughed, well Zabini, Nott, Greengrass, Parkinson, and Malfoy did. Goyle and Crabbe were not even paying attention."
"They...laughed?" Hermione asked in confusion.
"Yes, they said there was no way you would betray your friends, no matter how strained your friendship with Mister Weasley gets."
"Wow, didn't know they knew me that well." Hermione said.
"Yes, well, I was wondering if you'd help me spy for the order." Snape offered. "We'd meet with Dumbledore after every Order meeting, discuss what to tell the Dark Lord, then we will go and tell him whatever we agreed with Dumbledore about."
"I can't," Hermione said. "I don't want Harry or Ron to know that I met him, they'd never let me out of their sight if they knew."
"Yes, Mister Nott was telling his friends something along that line." Snape said. "Now go to your first class, we will meet Dumbledore after dinner to make plans." Hermione nodded as she got up and left the office.
"You told your friends?" Hermione hissed at her brother as they sat down for Arithmancy.
"You said Potter and Weasley couldn't know, you didn't say anything about my friends." Theo retorted. "Besides, they would have found out eventually."
"How?" Hermione asked. "The only ones who knew are our parents, Ginny, us, and...oh."
"Yeah, we're not the only ones with a connection with Him. Most of my housemates either have a father or an uncle in the group."
"Still, if Ron or Harry find out…" Hermione started before Theo interrupted.
"They won't," He reassured his sister. "Now onto more pressing matters. I think it's time our friends meet."
"They already know each other." Hermione said.
"Yes, but I want to officially introduce you as my sister to them. Get it through their heads that you are officially off limits to make fun of."
"Please, I know how Parkinson and Greengrass talk about Greengrass' little sister, they don't care if we're siblings, they will still make fun of me." At Theo's look Hermione sighed. "Okay, we'll all meet in the library at lunch and officially introduce each other. But make sure your friends will be on their best behavior and I will do the same."
"Deal." With that Theo turned his attention to the professor and Hermione just groaned.
"Do we have to go?" Ron groaned as he and Harry followed Ginny and Hermione up the stairs to the library.
"Yes, it is time you meet my brother and his friends." Hermione said. "He is my brother after all, you will be seeing a lot of him, and I'm sure the same goes for his friends."
"Besides, it gives me a chance to prove that Malfoy is a Death Eater." Harry said.
"Malfoy is not a bloody Death Eater!" Hermione snapped at Harry. "And I do not want you to make those kinds of accusations while we are getting to know them, understood."
"Yes ma'am." Harry said as the group went and sat at a table with Theo, Draco, Blaise, Daphne, and Pansy.
"Hey sis," Theo said, giving Hermione a hug. "May I officially introduce my friends. Guys this is my twin sister Hermione." The Slytherins all made a noncommunicable grunt. "Seriously guys?" Theo asked, giving Daphne a look. Daphne sighed as she got up and walked to Hermione.
"Nice to officially meet you Hermione, Theo has done nothing but talk about you since the discovery was made, if it wasn't for the fact you're his twin sister I would be worried."
"Daph." Theo said blushing, Hermione just looked between Daphne and Theo.
"I'm his girlfriend," Daphne explained. "We haven't broadcasted it across the school, you know how our classmates are, but we've been dating since Easter last year."
"Oh," Hermione said. "Congratulations, now Theo," Hermione turned to her brother. "These are my friends. Friends, this is Theo." Ginny just waved as Harry and Ron grunted. "Boys, say hi or your homework won't be checked for the next two weeks and you know how harsh Snape is on your homework grades already." Instantly both Ron and Harry muttered hellos.
"Damn Granger," Draco said. "Who knew you were so bossy."
"Drake…" Theo said as Ron and Harry jumped up.
"Well not all of us get special treatment Malfoy," Hermione said, giving Ron and Harry a glare. "I'm pretty sure you could not go to class and Snape still wouldn't fail you."
"Advantages of being his favourite godchild." Draco said.
"Actually," Pansy popped up. "Now that the truth is out, Granger might be his new favourite." Everyone just looked at her in shock. "Well, she has always been better than Drake in school."
"Which brings me to my idea," Theo said, gaining everyone's attention. "I was thinking, as we're trying to get everyone to know each other, that we could have an inter-house study group."
"That's a great idea." Hermione said. "I'm all for it, Ron, Harry, or Ginny?"
"Sounds good to me." Ginny said. "I can probably convince Dean too."
"I'll join too," Daphne said. "But class is going to start soon so we should probably go." With that the group dispersed and went off to their own classes.
After dinner, which both Dean, Nevielle, and Luna all agreed to join Hermione and Ginny in their study group, Hermione and Snape walked up to Dumbeldore's office. "So I understand you met Voldemort while you were at your parents Miss Nott." Dumbledore said as Hermione and Snape walked into the office and sat down.
"Yes sir," Hermione said. "I'm guessing Snape has already told you his plan?"
"Yes, and I agree with him. If both of you are telling Voldemort the same thing that would bring credients to both Severus and you. We could get him to believe one thing and do another."
"My only problem," Hermione said. "Is I don't want Harry or Ron to know that I met with him, they can be over protective on good days."
"They won't know," Dumbledore said. "You won't actually be going to meetings, you will just be joining me and Severus afterwards to plan what to tell Voldemort. I'm sure you can give reasons to be seeing me to Potter and Weasley."
"Yes, sir, I can." Hermione said. "Though I really should go right now, they have major concerns about my weekend with the Notts and were a little worried with my meeting with Snape this morning and now with you."
"Of course, have a great night, I will send for you after the next Order meeting." Hermione said her goodbyes and walked out of the office and returned to her common room.
"What did Dumbledore want?" Harry asked as Hermione picked up her bookbag.
"Just wanted to see how my weekend with my parents went. Now I am going to the library, do you want to join me?"
"No thank you, the Slytherins might be there." Ron said, pulling out his chessboard. "Let's play Harry."
"Dean and I will come," Ginny said. "I need to find books on this essay McGonagall wants my class to do anyway."
"Do I have to come?" Dean asked his girlfriend. Ginny just smirked as she whispered in his ear. "Okay, I'm game."
"Can I come?" Nevielle asked. "I'm having trouble with Snape's homework."
"Of course, come on." Hermione said and the four left the common room to headshakes from Ron and Harry.
"No wonder Nevielle," Hermione said looking over Nevielle's work. "You wrote down the wrong assignment."
"Oh," Neville said. "which one was I supposed to do."
"Hey sis," Theo said as he and Daphne sat down. "Longbottom." Neville just made a squeak.
"Neville this is my twin brother Theo and his girlfriend Daphne. And you were suppose to do this," Hermione handed Neville a piece of paper before turning to her brother. "Any other Slytherins planning on coming?"
"No," Daphne said. "They still feel weird about you being 'off-limits' so they are staying away."
"Is it just you and Longbottom?" Theo asked looking around the table.
"Ginny and Dean were here," Hermione said.
"I think they went to make out." Neville muttered. Hermione just rolled her eyes and returned to her work.
"Can't they do that in their own rooms?" Daphne asked with a look of disgust on her face.
"I don't know about Slytherins but Gryffindors have roommates and Ron would flip his shit if he saw her making out with someone." Hermione explained.
"With good reason." Theo muttered. Hermione and Daphne shared a look then both of them slapped Theo's arms. "Ow, devil women." Hermione and Daphne just laughed.
