"What the fuck were you guys doing? I come the scene and see some kid running towards that villain with none of you doing anything. Why are you ripping him a new one, just because he's done something, despite being quirkless? Shouldn't you guys be comforting him as a victim of this attack and lecture him later on?"
"Now, look here, Spots, our quirks-"
"It's not about quirk, especially since the one who did anything was quirkless to begin with! Your egos are wounded cause he spotted something you guys didn't. I'm not gonna name what you guys could have done, but your behavior right now is befitting for heroes. I'm going to get the kid checked over again from the medics. If there's any complaint, direct it towards me and I will deal with it. Leave the kid out of it."
"Come on, Greenie, we're getting out of here." She offered the wide-eyes kid a hand. He was most likely in shock from this whole situation.
"You're-"
"Yeah, I'm Spots, the spotting hero, nice to meet you, kid. What is your name?"
"I-I'm Midoriya Izuku, ma'am!" The kid was still staring wide-eyed at her but at least he had taken her hand and was moving now.
"Lay off with the "ma'am", kid. I'm not that old. Just address me by my hero name."
"Thank you, Spots...," Midoriya mumbled quietly, fidgeting besides her now that he wasn't being overloaded by mad heroes. The way that they had behaved came off as quirkist. It was honestly saddening how easy society succumbed to that kind of behavior now.
"But you hadn't had to do that... You will get in trouble for defending me."
Not believing her ears, she shriveled around.
"Midoriya-kun, what are you talking about? Of course, I had to do that. You don't deserve getting yelled at by heroes just because you're quirkless. You're just like any other person."
It broke her heart, seeing his lost expression at her words and the disbelief swimming in his eyes. She knew about the treatment quirkless people received but it was another thing witnessing the pure despair it installed into people after living a lifetime of practically being treated like a second class citizen.
"Midoriya-kun, I'm so sorry you have to go through all that treatment, but you deserve so much better. My quirk was diagnosed so much later in my life because it's part of the subtle quirks and it's just so dumb how differently you're treated because you don't do something stupid like firing light out of your ass." She held his shoulder to draw him up from his hunched position, trying to make him listen to her words.
A cough sounded from behind them, drawing their attention away from the conversation, basically preventing Midoriya from answering or even thinking about her statement.
"Ah, sorry, would it now be a bad time to interrupt this conversation?"
Standing at the end of the alley, was the thin and gaunt figure of the Symbol of Peace.
