AN: PLEASE READ THE CHAPTER BEFORE, IT'S COMPLETELY DIFFERENT TO WHAT IT WAS LAST YEAR.
Sienna wasn't stupid. She knew what the boys were thinking. Sienna can barely look after herself, let alone the town. Owen's ploy to take control and leave her on the backseat was supposed to rile her up. He wanted that to happen. He wanted the feisty emotion that she once possessed to return again.
What both Owen and the family didn't realise was that the old Sienna was long gone.
Abuela, Camerón and Carisa went to bed whilst the reunited couple cleared the dishes from the dining table. It was late and all Sienna could think about was how tone-deaf her loved ones were.
'Do you think I'm stupid, Owen?' Sienna questioned putting down the plate and tea towel.
'No' Owen attested, snaking his hands around Sienna's waist. He felt her body twitch, subconsciously rejecting his actions of love. 'Why would you say that?' He pondered, ignoring the sinking feeling in his heart from her rejection. He pulled Sienna closer to him, to the point where his face was essentially in front of her. Sienna refused to look back at him, focusing on Carisa's swing set in the backyard that the wind was slowly moving.
'Did you honestly think I'd have no idea on what you and Camerón were planning with this whole strip thing?' Sienna remarked with a quiet yet unnerving tone.
Owen immediately stepped back and began to get frustrated, 'What do you mean?'
'All I've heard today is 'Sienna, you've lost your touch' 'It's all your fault, Sienna'' She turned around and looked him straight in the eye.
'Because it is!' Owen raised his voice as wrinkles began forming on his forehead. His eyes were full of anger and annoyance.
'Do you think I'm a robot?' Sienna maintained her impassive tone. She didn't move a muscle whilst Owen could barely keep a hair in the same place.
'Sienna, what are you on about?'
'I'm asking you a question'
'-No! You're not a robot!'
'Do you know what's happened to me in the last few years?'. That's when the penny dropped in Owen's mind. His anger misted away as he watched Sienna's face fall from being blank to remorseful. 'I don't think you do Owen' She stepped closer towards him. 'Let me tell you what I've been through seeing as you of all people have forgotten'
Owen regretted everything he said to Camerón. Every feeling of disdain. Every moment of frustration. Every second of confusion. The last time Sienna opened her heart to him was in London, and he could feel that she was going to exactly the same tonight. Fuck my life, he thought. He was so accustomed to the indestructability of Sienna that he didn't even consider the trauma she had gone through.
'The love of my life abandoned me for years with no phone calls, no contact, nothing…' Sienna began, her eyes starting to swell with emotion. Owen's heart sank as he knew exactly what was going to be coming. Sienna refused to let him look away as she grabbed his chin before he could turn away from her. 'I find him again…' she smiled, 'but he was on the other side…' her arms grabbed the island as her body leaned against it. 'His team even managed to shoot me'
'Baby please' Owen begged as he began to walk away from her.
'Stay and listen' Sienna commanded. He treaded back and placed his arms next to hers. The close proximity to Sienna made him want her to fall into his body. He wanted her to take solace in his arms and love him. Yet, she leaned as back as she could to keep her distance. 'I still found him, and I poured my heart out to him. Told him how much I loved him. How much I wanted to be with him. How I'd leave everything so I could have him back in my life…' a teardrop fell from her eye onto her cheek. 'He instead kidnapped my sister-in-law'
'Sienna you know why I had to do it!' Owen pleaded.
'He instead kidnapped my sister-in-law…' Sienna repeated. After all, Sienna only recently found out his true motive behind his actions. 'And because of all of the struggle. My best friend was killed by one of his team'
'Sienna. I never wanted anyone to die. Let alone Gisele'
Sienna ignored every single retaliation Owen had. This wasn't about blame. This was about understanding. 'The love of my life fell into a coma and I convinced myself he was gone so I could deal with his loss…' more tears fell before she dragged her hand across her face to wipe them all away. 'Her boyfriend and I decided to celebrate her life in Tokyo where I watched him burn to death because of the love of my life's brother wanting revenge'
'I understand Sienna. Please stop' Owen whispered as a tear fell from his eye.
'You expect me to be a fully functioning human whilst knowing what I've been through?' Sienna cried, emotions taking the best of her.
'No, baby'
'Owen, I haven't slept in so long. Every night I think about Han burning in front of me. Hearing him scream. I think about Gisele. I think about us. All I do is fucking think…' She sunk onto the kitchen floor. 'I wish and I wish that I could give a shit about the strip and Fernando and everything that I used to be able to deal with. I know I've become incompetent and quite frankly I just don't care…' He sat next to her. 'For you to waltz back here and take control because you and everyone else thinks I've lost my touch is ridiculous…'
'I'm sorry'
'When you first met me, you thought I could do with a bit of calm in my life. Throughout our relationship you wanted me to be more relaxed. You could just about handle my feistiness. Now that I have become calmer and less angry, you don't like it?'
'Sienna, that's not the case'
'It is the case, though. You all are hypocrites' she stood up. 'You wanted me to have emotions. You all called me a stone-cold bitch. And now look… you don't like it when I've changed' Sienna turned away from Owen and grabbed her phone from the dining table. She walked to the hallway mirror and dabbed her face from the moisture of her tears. clearing her throat, she picked up her house keys from the living room. 'I'm going out'
The door slammed shut whilst Owen sat there, with his head between his legs, wondering how he could make up years of damage and suffering.
