Alright folks, this is my first ever fanfiction! It's been sitting in my head for quite a while now and I am finally putting it out there. I have been a reader on this site for a long time and decided it was about time I returned the favor for all of those countless hours of entertainment.

This takes place during the Alvarez War Arc and the USJ Arc of My Hero Academia, so spoilers!

Don't get stingy with the comments, and let me know where I can improve. See you guys at the end!

"You brat, I'll kill you." Acnologia growled out between clenched teeth. He was hurting, that last blow had hit much harder than anything previous. What had changed? Magic didn't affect him and his body was strong enough to shrug off any physical attack. So what was this hatchling doing?

"Like you could!" Natsu roared as he charged forward with his fist cocked back, preparing to deliver another haymaker.

How long had this been going on? Seconds? Minutes? Hours? Days even? It certainly felt like it. Natsu's whole body ached. His arms felt like lead, his legs like bags of wet sand, even his eyelids were feeling heavy as the battle continued. Fighting like this with an arm burned almost beyond recognition couldn't have been helping either. It was a miracle in its own that he could move it at all. Zeref was too powerful for his own good and was more than able to injure him and push him to his breaking point. But if Natsu knew anything about breaking points, then he knew that they were meant to be surpassed.

"I'll take you down and protect everyone! I won't stop until you're defeated and Fairy Tail is safe again!" A brave declaration, but could he back it up? Yeah he felt that he could, but with every passing attack he felt his chances were getting further and further out of his reach. His hopes of seeing everyone becoming less and less likely.

"I am the Dragon King, you have no chance against me!" Those taunts and jeers were getting old though. And it was pissing him off to no end. With a roar Natsu surged forward with his left fist encased in an inferno of flame. Before he even knew what had happened he was being lifted off of his feet and he couldn't get air to his lungs. His mind was swimming. How the hell can anyone move that fast?

"If anything, I think you are the stupidest being I have ever met in all my years on this world. But I have grown bored of this." The dragon spoke with a deep voice that resonated power and dominance. Whether it had come with his strength or age Natsu wasn't sure, but it always seemed that the incredibly powerful mages had deep rumbling voices that carried their threats. Food for thought. Now was not the time to be getting lost in fleeting thoughts. His mind was beginning to cloud over with his windpipe being crushed so it was now or never. With minimal effort he brought forth his lightning enhanced flames, hoping to catch Acnologia off guard, allowing him a chance to slip out of his grasp.

His flames coated in lightning. It had been quite a while since he last used them. He and Gajeel had both activated their duel elemental modes to gain an upper hand during the whole Tartarus fiasco. Since then he briefly tampered with them during his year long training trip. Natsu didn't want to rely on that power, it was more of a trump card that he wanted to use only when he was in a pinch. Well right now was more than a pinch.

Slamming his palm forward in a compact movement he released enough lightning that would leave even Gajeel stunned. Acnologia was not Gajeel.

"What the hell was that? You are pissing me off more than I thought possible." His tone speaking volumes more than whatever he could have said. In truth, the very aura that he released was enough to make most fall to despair. It was something the king took great pride in. If the dragon really put some killing intent into it then he was sure that even some of the most powerful would crumble. But the term powerful is used rather loosely in this sense as Acnologia only deems himself a true being of power.

"It was a distraction you ass hole!" Cobra shouted as he dove in with his scaled arms cloaked with poison. Stabbing his clawed hands at Acnologia's exposed abdomen he sure as hell wasn't prepared for the sheer magical pressure that completely crushed him. The king had released a wave of his magic to ward off any damage he may have taken from the attack but it was overkill in hindsight. If Acnologia could hear Cobra's thoughts they would be along the lines of: "How could a being on this level exist?" Winning was a distant dream. He was but an ant before an elephant. There was no chance in hell there was even a glimmer of hope for them to come out on top. What even made them think they had a-

"I forgot you were there. It's easy to forget about things that are insignificant, don't you agree?" The question went unanswered by the frozen Cobra, his thoughts cut short. His whole body was shaking against his own will and there was nothing he could do about it! He was berating himself over and over in his mind, questioning how he could be so weak. How he could just let this guy throw him around like a ragdoll. How he could just sit back and watch one of the few people he actually respected just die.

"NO!" Against every instinct screaming at him to turn tail and run, he drove his hand at the being before him, begging for him to hit something that got Natsu out of his grip.

Maybe there was a god somewhere out there that just so happened to be smiling down upon him. In that moment of his desperate plea Gajeel moved in his Iron Shadow Dragon Mode, stabbing an iron sword into the stump of where Acnologia's left arm used to be. It was enough for Natsu to back away to a safe distance, but he would need time to catch his breath. Instead of a grunt of pain like the dragon slayers were expecting however, they only got an annoyed click of the tongue. Maybe that god had only smirked at them instead.

"You are all beginning to get on my nerves, your deaths are only a matter of time now. By some miracle, if you actually do manage to defeat me, there will be nothing to return to." His words carried a new weight to the dragon slayers in the Ravines of Time.

"What are you saying?" Wendy asked, mustering her courage to not buckle under the intense pressure that the dragon naturally exuded.

The smirk that flashed onto his features was enough to send chills down their spines. The crazy gleam in his eye became more pronounced and a rumbling could be felt in the ground beneath their feet. It took a moment to figure out that it was actually him chuckling and it didn't ease them in the slightest.

"I will humor you with a response, I mean that my physical body is wreaking havoc and chaos across Fiore, destroying everything in sight. I may not be in control of it but it knows to follow instincts, and they are saying 'Destroy everything, leave nothing behind'." The Dragon King finished with a dark chuckle as he could see the growing apprehension on the dragon slayers' faces.

It was only natural. They had all seen what he was capable of, was anyone even able to injure his dragon form? Was it even possible with his invulnerability to magic? Despair was already planted in them when the realization of Acnologia being there had been made public, and now that seed was sprouting and was threatening to come into full blossom as the seconds ticked by.

"Then we'll just defeat you here and save them all!" One pink haired dragon slayer shouted defiantly. If there was any seed of doubt in him then only ashes would remain. Natsu was dead set on getting back to the guild with everyone, sharing stories and taking jobs and making memories to last a lifetime. There was no way he was going to give in now after everything!

"Don't count us out yet either." Laxus stood tall, his lightning dancing across his skin. Natsu was right, strangely enough. Thinking of losing wasn't even an option at this point, they had all of Fiore's lives resting on their shoulders. Hell, all of Ishgar's lives were at risk. Glancing at his fellow dragon slayers, Wendy in particular, he passed on a message. All eyes met for a split second between them and the sky dragon slayer understood immediately.

"Natsu!" He heard her but kept his focus trained on the dragon before them all, his breathing had calmed and his eyes were now able to refocus again. "I'm going to enchant you with all of our remaining magic!" And before he could respond a new wave of power was forced into his body. Even when he had obtained Igneel's power it wasn't anywhere near this level. He felt… he felt… like a dragon. It was a strange feeling, but not entirely unwelcome. It was just like when he first began to feel his body changing as dragon slayer magic affected his body as a child. Then, it was as if a flame had been lit within his body. He could only assume that everyone else felt something similar when they were being taught, or for Cobra and Laxus when the lacrimas were implanted into their bodies. Well, in all honesty, it was probably more painful than anything for them.

Yet, when comparing that feeling to now, it was vastly different. Now it was more as if a flame had encompassed his whole being. It felt incredible in every sense of the word. A new kind of sensation tore through his nerves and set each one ablaze, and it wasn't his magic flaring up.

And suddenly he felt nothing.

Looking around now, it took only a glance to realize that he wasn't in the Ravines of Time anymore. It was still a place that Natsu recognized however. Why wouldn't he? The pink haired dragon slayer had been there only hours before. It was his inner world. The raging flames, flowing lava from the erupting volcanoes, the crimson glow from the ashen clouds above all still the same as last time, all that was missing was-

"I must say that I was hoping I would never have to see you in here again." A deep voice sounded from behind him. Natsu already knew who it was before he turned around, it was a voice that he heard daily while he was growing up. Fully facing his father, he could see the somber and sullen look on his scaly face. It was the same look as when they last spoke. The mighty dragon leaned forward so his snout was mere inches from his son's body.

"Am I dying again?" Natsu half joked, but he wasn't stupid enough to not know that the situation was a serious one. The glint in Igneel's eyes was glaringly obvious that this was no laughing matter.

"Actually no, but what I most feared is coming to fruition." An eyebrow was raised at this.

"Igneel, just spit it out. I am not a child anymore, I can take it." He insisted.

"Wendy was too brash in her decision to enchant you with all of your fellow dragon slayers magic. There have been some… unexpected side effects." Igneel couldn't hide the disappointment from seeping into his voice and he knew that Natsu would pick up on it. So the Fire Dragon King was not surprised by his next question.

"So what do I do to make them unexpected good side effects?"

"First you need to understand what is happening to your body before you can even begin to alter it, if there is even a chance at this point." Without missing a beat, he jumped into the explanation.

"As you know I, along with the other remaining dragons, all remained dormant within you and the other dragon slayers' bodies. This was done so we could all produce the antibodies to prevent the process of dragonification from taking place. As it has with Eileen Belserion, Acnologia and countless others." He paused here to make sure his son was keeping up with everything that he had said so far. And just as when he was explaining the dragon and demon seeds, he was uncharacteristically serious.

"I understand so far, but that doesn't explain why I am back here again talking to you." Natsu gave a gesture that meant 'Get on with it.' It took all of the dragon's willpower to not smack him upside the head in that moment, but he knew it was just an attempt to lighten the mood. And in a stupid, laughable, Natsu-like way, it worked.

"Previously, you were here because the demon seed and the dragon seed were fighting over dominance in your body. Now if you think about it theoretically then the demon seed should have immediately won out and you would have become END."

"Yet here I am." Natsu wasn't comprehending what Igneel was alluding to, but he knew that it would all make sense sooner or later.

"Half of my reason for sealing myself in your body was to render that dragon seed almost completely useless in terms of turning you into a dragon. So it comes to reason that with it just sitting in your body, powerless, then you should be a demon right now. But if both sides were fighting then that also means that the antibodies I spent all that time making to fend off the dragonification process, were not enough." Igneel sounded more dejected than anything. His son was piecing it together in his head. It made sense. What he was saying was that if the antibodies had done their job properly then his demon side would have taken over as soon as it was activated, but the dragon seed was still strong enough to put up a fight. But now this raised a question.

"I thought they both crumbled to pieces… how is this happening now? Then what was the point of disappearing for all those years?" A slight edge had made its way into Natsu's voice, but could you really blame him? His father had just vanished off the face of the earth without even a hint as to what had happened to him. Seriously, what would it do if he had told him where he would be? At least that way he wouldn't feel the abandonment and loneliness when Igneel disappeared.

Igneel wasn't dumb enough to miss the sharp tone either. He also knew that what he had done was cruel. It was harsh and put Natsu through some of the worst psychological pain he could ever experience at such a young age. But it was all for the better. He wouldn't have met Fairy Tail, made so many friends, or become a part of a family; he wouldn't be smiling wider and wider everyday, and he wouldn't have found love.

"It was to make you strong." And strangely enough, Natsu understood. He wasn't even sure he could explain it, good thing he didn't have to.

"Back to why you are here again; that girl Wendy." Igneel began again.

"Yeah, I am really confused about that." He admitted. The dragon sighed, but nodded in understanding nonetheless.

"After your dragon and demon seeds destroyed each other, all danger of you turning into a dragon vanished… along with your magic." Natsu's eyes widened drastically at this. What the hell did that mean?

"The dragon seed was your origin for your dragon slayer magic. Unknown to all dragon slayers, that seed is what fuels your magic, so without it you are no longer a dragon slayer." His words were pummeling the pink haired… 'mage', each one heavier than the last. Denial instantly set in.

"But I fought Zeref with my magic, it was stronger than ever when we last clashed!" Tears could be seen threatening to spill over any second. It couldn't be true, it just wasn't possible.

"You know it's the truth, why else would your flames fail you when you needed them most? When you first began fighting Acnologia, your magic wasn't working. The only reason you were able to fight that beast is due to the last sparks of your magic being left behind as well as you being in the Ravines of Time. It is a place where anything can happen, even allowing for the remnants of your magic to be amplified several fold." Igneel had taken on a more strict tone now.

"Natsu, your dragon slayer magic has been returned to you. When young Wendy enchanted all of the dragon slayers' remaining magic to you, she accidentally gave you all of their dragon seeds as well, except for those two second generation dragon slayers. Barring them however, the reason that you have 'stolen' their seeds is due to you being a void."

"Void? What in the hell is that even supposed to mean!" Natsu's rage had reached a boiling point, he was a dragon slayer, he wasn't a dragon slayer, make up your mind!

"Without your dragon seed, you essentially became a husk of what you used to be. With the new magic being injected into your body, there was a vacuum-like effect. You practically robbed them of their seeds to take the place of your own, but with your body having long been adjusted to fire, the elements you would have absorbed were more or less infused into you and molded to your own fiery nature. Just like fuel. The strange thing is that without the demon's seed, the dragon seeds are able to flourish, and are easily doing so because you do not have enough antibodies to fight off so many seeds. And then your body did something else entirely unexpected, it merged the seeds into one." It all made sense in a twisted way. After everything he had gone through he was still going to end up a dragon. Life sure knew how to punch a guy in the face.

"So you didn't even make enough antibodies to fight off my own dragon seed, but we got lucky with it being destroyed. Yet now my body has the strength of multiple and the antibodies that I already have aren't enough to stop them, or it, I guess. Am I going to turn into a dragon or not?" Natsu was uncharacteristically serious, but it was understandable with what he was faced with. When you really broke it down to the basics, there was one thing that was practically screaming in their faces. Igneel didn't need to disappear to make those dragonification antibodies, and there was no doubt that Natsu had thoughts along the lines of his father being selfish to hide for so long to fight Acnologia.

"Yes." Beating around the bush was pointless by now. The other major problem was going to be avoided or ignored. Whatever left it alone longer.

"How long do I have?" Natsu was being surprisingly straightforward.

"We have been talking for a while, but time is different in here. It has maybe been a few seconds in the Ravines of Time so you do not need to worry about your physical body for the time being." The Fire Dragon King explained.

"There was one thing that you didn't explain. If without my dragon seed, I lost my dragon slayer magic, then haven't I basically just robbed the others of their magic?" Natsu was getting worried now. Just the thought that he had lost his magic was painful. Experiencing it would be devastating. He couldn't put that on anyone else.

"Sting, Rogue, Laxus and Cobra will be fine. The second generations will be fine but the third generation slayers will basically become just like Laxus and Cobra. Without the dragon seed, their power is limited and will no longer have the power that had been passed on through their dragon parents. As for Wendy and Gajeel, they will be more greatly affected. No longer will they be dragon slayers. Only mages with a very strong affinity to Iron and Sky Magic, somewhat akin to how Gray is with his Ice Make Magic. I am sorry, but there is nothing you can do." The answer hit Natsu hard. He had hoped that wouldn't be the case, but it was.

"How long?" Igneel didn't need further prompting.

"Three hours, at most."

"Then I will be sure to finish this in less than one. If I defeat Acnologia before their dragon slayer magic runs out then Wendy should be able to undo the enchantment with the dragon seeds and get them out of me and back into their original bodies." A fist slammed into an open palm as Natsu smirked at the idea he had come up with.

"That won't work." That smirk fizzled out in a second.

"Now what? What could possibly be wrong with that?!" His frustration was reaching a new high.

"I said that your body had merged the seeds into one, there would be no safe way to separate them. Gajeel and Wendy would die." The words were crisp and to the point, no sugarcoating it.

"Dammit! Why can't anything be easy?" His rage was giving way to how tired he felt. The heaviness that was overcoming him during his battle with Acnologia was suddenly back with a vengeance. Now of all times, really? Apparently Igneel knew exactly what was going on. He suddenly raised up on his back legs and spread his wings to their fullest. In all honesty, he looked pretty intimidating. At his full height he had to be at least 25 feet tall, the same size as Acnologia.

"It seems we are out of time. You are turning into a dragon Natsu." The dragon slayer had already come to accept that but why did he feel like this? Dragons were creatures of incredible power, right now he felt like a gentle breeze could knock him over.

"What the fu-" Was as far as Natsu got before he fell unconscious. Yet, while he was no longer in control of his body, it was writhing on the ground in pain. If he was awake and could begin to describe it, then he would say that it was like opening up his second origin again but it was coupled with a third and a fourth and a fifth origin being unlocked. Magic poured from every pore on his body, anything he had ever done before was like an ember compared to right now. To put it in perspective, it was like he had made a small fire but only used small sticks to keep it burning, but now he had unleashed it on a forest that hadn't seen rain in months and spanned beyond what the eye could see. In a sense, he had finally put what he had access to all this time to full use.

While his body writhed however his mind felt at ease. Like there was nothing to worry about anymore. Like everything was right with the world. Natsu knew that wasn't true but right now, in this moment, he could honestly say that nothing else mattered. Just laying back to watch the forest burn was making him more than content. It was a strange and foreign feeling for the pink haired dragon slayer. Even more foreign to him, he didn't feel anything. There was just an emptiness that he couldn't begin to describe. If he had to, it was comparable to sinking in an ocean. His limbs going numb as he kept sinking lower and lower. The further down he went the more comfortable he felt.

Natsu could never just sit still and do nothing. He was just like his magic in every way, always moving around and never doing any one thing for longer than a moment, except for eating and sleeping.

In all of the silence and nothingness Natsu began to wonder. About why he was where he was. About why everything sucked so much in the outside world. About how he could do nothing to help Gajeel or Wendy. About how he would become a dragon. The realization came crashing back down once again and then he blacked out.

A few moments later:

"Hey hey hey, who said you could sleep now?" Natsu didn't even flinch from his spot on the ground. He was still in his burning inner world, Igneel was no longer there and yet there was still someone there to keep him company.

"I said get off your lazy ass you sack of shit!" And without further adieu the dragon slayer was sent straight into a rock face with a solid kick from the man standing in front of where Natsu used to be lying down.

"Something happened, I hit my head wayyy too hard, because right now I am pretty sure I'm looking at me right now." Natsu stared intently at the him standing there, with the same attire as Natsu but without the crispy arm he had from before… come to think of it. When Natsu glanced back to his right arm the serious burns from his earlier fight were almost completely healed, all except for the scars that interlaced and spread along his arm.

In a different place in a different time…

An earth shattering boom was felt and heard for miles in every direction as the beautiful clear sky inexplicably had a gaping black hole in it. It was as if the sky itself was a giant balloon and someone decided to prick it with a pin. Before anyone could react an object could be seen leaving said tear. And whatever it was came fast and hard.

The figure appeared to be human but it was free falling head first into the middle of the top of the the Unforeseen Simulation Joint. The glass dome having spiderweb cracks branching out for a hundred feet from the epicenter of Natsu's body. It wasn't long after the pink haired dragon slayer opened his eyes that he realized he wasn't the only one to fall through the Ravines of Time.

"You thought you could get away from me? Me?! I am the King!" Mad laughter followed suit and the pure malicious intent behind it sent shivers down Natsu's spine. Smoke covered the immediate crash site but it was almost immediately blown away by a thunderous roar.

"Acnoooologiaaaaaaa!" He roared and shot a low kick out that sent Acnologia spinning before a flame encased fist slammed into his left side and sent him sliding along the dome of the USJ before he even managed to fall all the way down the glass dome.

The one that had come through first had pink colored hair that spiked up with intense black eyes. He wore an open black sleeveless vest with gold trimming and white knee-length baggy trousers. The open vest gave way to view his toned body packed with muscle that would make any woman swoon or any man jealous. His footwear consisted of sandals but the thing that stuck out the most was the red symbol on his right shoulder, as well as the numerous scars that laced their way along his right arm, and interweaved down to his hand.

The other man was slightly larger with dark skin and long dark blue hair that went down his back over the black cloak he wore. His chest was bare of any wounds along with the rest of his body, yet still equally toned as the first man. There were light blue markings running along his right arm and by this point it had become obvious that his left arm was missing.

"The hell, where am I?" Natsu asked, seeing the cityscape in the distance and all around. This raised too many questions though. He had no idea where he was. All he did know was that everyone was gone, he had no idea what he could possibly do to get back to them or if there even was a way to get back.

"Who cares, right now, you're the only one left." Acnologia couldn't care less about any of the insects around him. He did know that he would certainly have some fun later however.

"What? What do you mean I'm the only one left?!" Natsu shouted. Flames burst from his body and soared into the sky into a massive pillar of heat causing any clouds to instantly evaporate. Natsu was too focused on the King to even realize the fire power he just put out was practically melting the glass around them, causing holes to form in their foothold.

"I mean what I said! I finished the rest of the dragon slayers off and all that's left of the great continent of Ishgar is rubble! Did you think I wouldn't notice 4 missing seeds? I mean honestly, peeling through the eons to get here was probably the biggest pain in the ass, but when you're in there you don't age and I had all the time I needed to find exactly when you had been spit out." Acnologia's laughter racked his body when he saw the absolute defeat wash over Natsu's face. It was perfect. So perfect, the realization that there was nothing and no one to return to clear as day. The flames around the fire dragon slayer instantly died out as tears fell from his eyes. Doubt and guilt flooded his chest at that moment. He tried with all his heart to not believe his words, but if Acnologia was anything he wasn't a liar. Even then Natsu grit his teeth and stood to his full height in defiance of the monster before him. There was no time now for self pity and grief, he had to make actions.

"Then I will send them off with your death by my hands." And he surged forward with a precise in-step, forcing his way into the dragon's guard. There would be no telling the true results of his labors until he put his body to the test.

"As if your feeble hatchling body could-" His mouth was abruptly shut with a flame-covered fist uppercutting his jaw and sending him a couple feet into the air. Acnologia landed on his feet with clear astonishment spread across his features and further cracking the glass beneath both their feet. The disbelief in his eyes was enough to make Natsu smirk with vehement determination to follow through on his word.

"What changed? What have you done? What have you become?!" The king roared, his voice increasing in volume with every passing word.

"I decided that if I'm to kill the king of dragons, I have to be a dragon." Maybe not his words, but they fit the situation well enough.

"You bastard! I am the one dragon, the ONE KING!" Acnologia's anger flared around him along with his magic. Bloodlust leeched from his being in waves, enough to force anyone to their knees at the sheer magnitude of murderous intent he radiated.

"That's about to change." Natsu launched forward once more, fully planning to land another explosive blow, but a single hand clutching his fist halted all hints of that happening.

"Try using your true form if you truly mean to back that statement up." Acnologia smiled at the new challenge that lay before him. A dragon! A true dragon had finally arrived before him. Now… now he could let loose again!

Back during the Eclipse event he felt the change in the world with the emergence of the seven dragons from the gate but he had been too late, any chance of having some fun snuffed out for who knows how long. His greed was quenched when he was given the opportunity to face off against the king of the fire dragons, Igneel! While it had definitely been enough to entertain him for the foreseeable future, he knew that the child of Igneel would be more, more of a challenge than his weakened and decrepit father could have ever been. The great dissatisfaction he was met with in the Ravines of Time was nothing short of a gambler losing on a large sum but now things were different. He'd bet more, more time and patience, with every intention to collect. And NOW! Now was the time to collect on that investment. Oh how he would enjoy the fruits of his labor.

The two dragons became a flurry on constant blows, many landing and not. Each one explosive and titanic in their own right, but neither anywhere near damaging enough to cripple the other.

On Natsu's side he was more testing out his new limits and capabilities, further understanding just how much he could let loose, but then again maybe now would be the best time to release all of his anger and aggression. The fact that his whole family was dead, even Zeref at his own hand, were all dead. There would be no getting them back, no second chance, no seeing them again. That fact pissed him off more than he had previously thought possible.

"I am going to end you." Natsu reared his hands back encasing his arms in flames.

"There won't even be bones left when I'm done with you!" He shouted while sending two spiraling waves of flames from his now-outstretched arms. The flowing walls of flames crashed into Acnologia's guard and flew off not a moment later leaving some dark red marks on his arm. Leaving a gleaming smirk in place of the fire.

"Stop making empty promises hatchling!" Acnologia took a deep breath, air filling his lungs as he prepared a breath attack, uncaring of the surrounding city.

Well there you guys have the first chapter of this story. Any and all feedback is more than welcome!
