Author's Note: *Phew* my apologies for the absence, but this new worksite ain't conducive to cranking out chapters! I am slowly working on one and I hope to have to released in time for this story's anniversary in June. Until then, you'll pardon the less-frequent uploads.

Wraith's Log - Entry 35

"Mission complete. Beskar has been retrieved and... and..."

...

*sigh* "Death Watch showed up. Wasn't expecting them to. Just seeing them again, though, it reminded me of Carlac. And of... gah, and of everything that happened there."

...

"Even now, I'm haunted by what happened. I don't like to think of myself as insecure, but at the same time, I know I'm not an ideal choice for Ahsoka. I know there are others who would be far easier catches for her... men who would be better suited for her current lifestyle. I had hope that her love for me would trump those notions... but I'm starting to think that I've gone and blown my only chance of being with her. I had a chance with her love... and I think I've wasted it."

...

"I don't like to think like that. Hell, I don't want to. But the evidence doesn't lie. Kriffing Lux Bonteri's existence by her side doesn't lie."

...

"And... I suppose... gah, kriffin' hell! I don't wanna 'suppose' anything! I want her back! I want to know she loves me!"

...

"But... if that could happen... it could only happen on one condition. And that's one condition I cannot meet. I can't just... change. I've been doing this for so-... It's what everyone expects of me. To suddenly stop would draw unwanted attention."

...

"But... do I even want to stop? I don't know. This 'profession'... it's all I've ever known. I kill because I must."

...

"Who I kill? That's a different story... and I don't think I have a say in that. Some people simply have to die, that's a given. But so long as I am at the behest of superior officers, I must kill who they deem necessary of elimination. I cannot change that, the only way I could would be to escape from such confines by... becoming my own superior..."

...

"Damn you, Deiven Virlo. Once again your words prove true."

...

...

"I have to think about this."
