I woke up to my phone ringing. I groggily looked over at Hinata's alarm clock (this one being more mature than its predecessor): it read 5:00 pm.

Shit! We must've fallen asleep after..

My eyes widened.

Oh my god we... nononono.. Vanji, you idiot!! We aren't even together officially!! And I slept with him!!??

Hinata was still fast asleep so I hurriedly leaned over collecting my clothes off the floor and redressed myself. I grabbed my sneakers and rushed into the living room. I glanced at my phone:

15 missed calls

24 texts

5 voicemails

76 comments on your Page!

30 friend requests!

12 new stories on your Feed!

What the hell??

I looked through my missed calls. 5 from Yachi Hitoka, 3 from Tobio Kageyama, 2 from Kenma Kozume, 3 from Tadashi Yamaguchi, and 2 from... Kei Tsukishima.

I groaned reading his name. Then, I saw the alert for an unread voicemail:

1 Message from: Kei Tsukishima.

Reluctantly, I pressed 'Listen':

"We need to talk. Call me back.."

Voice Message Ended.

Oh hell...

I searched through my texts next.

All of them read the same.

"Did you see the photo Hinata posted?!!"

Photo?? What photo??

I opened my online profile. My entire page was blowing up with comments:

OMGGGG

IS THATTT WHO I THINK IT ISSSS?!!

THE KARASUNO POWER COUPLE IS BACKKK XDDDD

I scrolled hurriedly to the source of the comments. A picture of Hinata and I... in bed..

He must've taken that while I was asleep! Why would he?

My phone started ringing.

Incoming call Tobio Kageyama..

"Umm.. hello?"

"VANJI!!! You're on the news!!"

"What?!!"

I grabbed the remote and flipped on the screen:

"This just in! It looks like Ninja Shoyo has made it official with the recent outing with a girl we've now identified as, Vanji Kageyama. And yes folks! THE Kageyama. Miss Vanji is a relative of the great volleyball setter, Tobio Kageyama. We reached out to Kageyama, but, unfortunately, haven't gotten a reply. No matter! We're just happy to inform the public of this newly blooming love affair."

I quickly shut off the feed.

"Shit.. Tobio. I'm sorry I-"

"Vanji, I could care less about the press.. are you alright?"

I couldn't answer him. I felt so torn. Not only had I royally screwed things up by leading on Tsukishima, I'd also let myself get caught up in things with Shoyo. Was I really ready to resume a relationship with him?

"I'm.. okay .."

I could feel he wasn't convinced, "I'll be back in town in a couple days for a small break between travels. Pick me up from the airport? And we can talk about it?"

"Did you know?" I interjected.

"About what?"

"Tsukishima.." I sighed.

There was a pause.

"Tobio..."

"... yeah."

"TOBIO!" I screeched.

"I'm sorry!! I kinda suspected with how much he hung around you even after you and Hinata broke up. You know he doesn't stick around unless it means something to him," Kageyama emphasized.

"This is a big mess.." I groaned.

"I'll see you soon okay? Just.. take care of yourself."

"I will."

When the call ended, the photo was still pulled up on my screen. I could help but smile at the genuine emotion Hinata's expression held in it. I recalled the feelings that came flooding back during our time together. He knew how to make my heart skip a beat and bring out my most genuine smile and leave me reeling.

.. But, I had to know. And there was only one way to settle this.

I scrolled through my contacts and pressed 'Call Back'.

It only took one dial.

"Hello?"

"Hey it's me... you're right. We need to talk. Can you pick me up?"

"I'll be there in 20 minutes."

~~~
I gathered my things and leaned over Shoyo and pressed a kiss to his cheek. I felt awful abandoning him after we'd just shared an intimate moment. But, I knew there were things left unsaid that I had to sort out.
Once I made it downstairs, Tsukishima was waiting for me. I'd never really payed much attention to his looks since I'd never considered Tsukishima as anything other than a close friend. As I followed him outside and into his vehicle, I observed his features. Tsukishima had gotten much more muscular since high school as well.
His college sweatshirt did little to conceal his biceps. I looked over his outfit and smiled to myself. His pants, no matter how many shops he tried always we a bit too short thanks to his height. I always thought that was cute about him. I hadn't realized how long I'd been staring.
"Hey dummy," Tsukishima sighed as he thumped my forehead.
"Ow! Hey..." I whined rubbing my forehead.
"Have you eaten?" he asked ignoring my pout.
"Umm.. no." I replied.
"Hm.." he looked like he was deep in thought then he turned towards a street I wasn't familiar with.
"Where are we going?"
"Just a little place I know.." he said keeping his eyes fixed on the road.
I did my best to try and figure my surroundings. Before I knew it, we'd pulled up to a small bistro that had an outdoor seating area lit with strands of lights. It looked so warm and inviting.
"Well, let's get a move on." Tsukishima said bluntly as he exited the car.
I shrugged and followed him. I hadn't realized how busy the place was until we approached. I noticed I was falling behind thanks to my slight limping. I tried to rush forward but I couldn't catch up with Tsukishima. Suddenly, I felt a grip on my hand.
"Come on," Tsukishima taunted, "Can't go off losing you in a crowd, pipsqueak."
He gently squeezed and led me to a table that seemed to have already been set. I sat down and looked around confused.
"Did you-" I began.
"Figured I'd call ahead." he shrugged.
"So.. you called ahead at a nice restaurant, after somehow expecting me to call you back?" I raised a brow.
"Well.. usually when something disastrous happens, especially when it deals with Hinata, I expect a call from you within the next 10 minutes," he grinned smugly.
"What the hell is that supposed to mean?" I snapped.
"That maybe..." he leaned forward across the table, "I'm you're knight in shining armor."
I scoffed, "Ohhh please."
"Correct me if I'm wrong but you had your pick to go on a date with anyone.. but who did you call?" he winked, "Face it Vanji. You can't live without me."
I huffed and rolled my eyes, "Get over yourself."
"You wound me madame," he chuckled.
"Why am I even here?" I groaned rubbing my temples,
"You tell me."
" I don't even know. I thought I'd get some kind of answer. To what I don't know but.." I rambled.
"Vanji," Tsuki lowered his tone.
I glanced at him. His face had gone from his usual teasing expression to a serious inquiry:
"Why did you come?"
