Secret time (0-)(0-)

"What secrets?" Her partner had asked.

The Master smiled even wider, and bowed dramatically, before straightening back up. He looked her right in the eyes and said, "These secrets", before leading them away.

As she followed in his wake, she could almost recall how he used to be. There, her childhood friend, who would encourage her wild side, who would pocket the juicy red fruits from market stalls and then take her hand and tell her to run. Who would keep her close whilst they rain, ran and rain, through the bustling streets and nosy onlookers to a freer, wilder place of tall dusty-orange grass and share food and laughter and tears. The same child who swore they'd run together, through the stars, see all the universe had to offer together one day. The same person who- no, Doctor, don't think about that. That doesn't matter right now; all that matters is the woman walking behind her. The woman who was depending on her to get her out of here alive. She sighed, and let herself feel Yasmin's warmth as her hand settled inside her own.

"This, Doctor, this is your Chamber. The Time Lords built it to-"

"To, what, contain me? Haven't they learnt by now that they can't keep me, that you can't keep me here? This planet was always too small for me. I took matters into my own hands" She smiled triumphantly, thinking that she'd made a good point, but the Master soon proved her wrong.

He laughed. "What, you think this was built to contain you? Are you that self-obsessed Doctor, that you think the whole universe is after you? Well, I suppose it doesn't help that you're constantly being proved right. No, Doctor, not you. It was built to contain the great and terrible products of your life, Doctor. And I know what you're thinking- Which ones?" He laughed again. The Doctor tried not to flinch from the accusations.

"Most of the monsters you created- or at least, the ones Rassilon's cronies could round up- are in another chamber, like this one. However, this particular vault is the stronger of the two, and for good reason. Or haven't you figured it out yet, Doctor? I know the Testimony returned your memories of her, so you must have pieced it together by now. Otherwise, well, you must really be as dumb as I like to think you are"

The realisation dawned on the Doctor slowly, as her oldest friend looked on.

"Wait, you like to think I'm stupid? No wonder you're always underestimating me. Wait, wait no, Rassilon? The Testimony- are you talking about Clara?
