Angst, anyone?

Edit: If you want more, please comment! The comments would mean a lot to me. Even if it's just a quick 'hey'

Yaz sucked in a breath. She often felt she didn't know what the Doctor was talking about, but this was a whole other level of nonsensical jargon.

"Doctor, who's Clara?" Her voice was hesitant, almost scared, like she knew the answer. She tried to avoid letting jealousy creep into her voice, which she succeeded only because apprehension drove it away.

The Doctor looked down in shame, but before she could reply, the Master smirked.

"Clara? Your last little pet? Or wait, no, she was a few back, wasn't she? No, she doesn't matter, not her. I'm talking about your grave, Doctor. Trenzalore. Or have you already forgotten that, too?" The Master began to cackle at this point, releasing his signature mad hatter laugh. The Doctor felt herself begin to shake as the memories played through her head. 900 years on that battlefield, knowing it was a lost cause, knowing there was nothing she could have possibly done- nothing he could have possibly done- to save the planet from the fate she had already seen. It was always going to end like that. It was-

"A paradox" The Doctor finally looked up, tears staining her eyes. Yaz had never seen her cry before.

"Yes, Doctor. A paradox. And it was never resolved- Or did you not realise that? Were you too busy running, too busy going after every lost soul that ever cried for your help, your mercy? You did not die on Trenzalore, and yet how was your grave there? Doctor, oh my beloathed, you really are stupid sometimes. To give you life, an extra thirteen faces, something had to die".

"Maybe I was just in denial, all this time."

"That's certainly one way to put it- but then again, you must have been in denial all your lives. Running, running, always running. You ran from the truth for so long, I think it's time you faced it.
Let me guess- you assumed you'd have to die on Trenzalore eventually, that regenerating again and again was just delaying the inevitable. That it was still all in your future, except on a planet you had already seen burn. Well, you were wrong. It's like you always said Doctor, you could have changed the timeline once, once upon a time when there were still Time Lords. Well, for just a moment there were Time Lords"

The Doctor's eyes widened in horror. "No."

"Oh yes Doctor. Because a moment, well, a moment was all it took" The Master's grin widened once more as he tapped a button on the wall besides him, causing the adjacent wall to grind open. The room beyond was bathed in a low red light, which was cantering on each machine. They seemed to be emitting the colour, although a slightly different shade was coming from each one.

"Welcome!" The man in the pinstriped suit emitted a gleeful chuckle, "Welcome to the room of paradoxes!"

The Doctor looked on in horror as she slowly stepped forwards.

"How? How can these all be mine?" She turned back to her first friend, the man who brought them there as tears fell from her eyes. Yaz clenched her fists.

"Why don't you take a closer look?" Master, no longer smiling, gestured towards the machines.

Now now reader, I told you that this was a way to explain plot holes like Trenzalore. Don't be surprised when there's angsty Doctor past, plus a Clara mention. Yes I know I'm evil. Anyway, glad to see you're surviving the angst so far, because there's more to come...

Also I forgot to say it before now but YaWho is my ship name for Yasmin and the Doctor, because I think if you're doing something you should always make it as silly sounding as possible. Yasmin X (Doctor) Who
