Anakin was walking through the Jedi Temple when he felt the Force tugging at him and following that pull, he found himself watching a group of Initiate's practicing their sparring skills.
He found himself watching a Togrutan girl with blue striped Lekku and Montals, she was skilled with her green lightsaber and used Ataru, she looked to be around fourteen.
He found himself standing watching the Initiate's mostly the Togruta all day.
Master Yoda noticed him watching, Ahsoka Tano would make a good Padawan to him, he may have just joined the Order, but he was plenty qualified to receive a Padawan.
"Looking for a Padawan are you?" Yoda asked him bringing him out of his thoughts startling him.
"No, Master" Anakin answered startled "the Force called me here."
"Perhaps, the Force thinks you a Padawan you should take" Yoda pointed out, he could felt the Force moving around him saying that Ahsoka Tano should be his Padawan.
"You may be right, Master Yoda, but do you think I'm ready for a Padawan?" Anakin inquired of the Grand Master, he'd just joined the Order, he wasn't even sure he should be a Jedi Knight let alone take a Padawan Learner.
"If the Force thinks you're ready, then ready you are," Master Yoda told him.
"Yes, Master" Anakin replied still not sure he was ready for the responsibility of a Padawan, but perhaps the Force was right his whole time trapped with Sidious he'd always listened to the Force and this wasn't the time to stop that habit.

Ahsoka Tano walked towards the Council Chambers, had she finally been chosen as a Padawan learner, or was she going to be assigned to the Agri-Corps or something else, she hoped not, she was never could with agriculture and things like that, she was better at dueling and mechanics and piloting were interesting.
The Council admitted her immediately.
"Ahsoka Tano, you have been chosen by Anakin Skywalker to be his Padawan learner," Mace said, he smiled, he believed that Anakin was ready for this challenge, and the Force was making it very clear he was ready.
Ahsoka looked in surprise and joy and then looked at the Jedi Knight behind her, she'd never seen him before in her life and she'd never heard of him before he'd been sent to help Jedi Masters Jinn and Kenobi and Knight Nind protect Senator Amidala, she'd heard he fought Count Dooku and held him off but in the end, he'd lost his arm to the former Jedi Master and Separatist leader.
Hopefully, she would learn more about him soon.

Ahsoka followed her new Master out of the Council Chambers when the meeting had ended, she was curious he was a skilled duelist if he'd held of Count Dooku for a substantial amount of time but other than that he was a complete mystery to her and she wanted to know more.
"What are you thinking about, youngling?" Anakin asked her.
"I'm not a youngling" Ahsoka answered vehemently, she may be small but she was no youngling, she was fourteen.
"Ok, youngling" Anakin teased, they were going to be a good pair, the Force was telling him it.
"I was wondering why you picked me as your Padawan, Skyguy" She snipped back, the nickname came to her mind, she didn't even think about it, and it suits him she could tell.
"Sure Snips, I picked you for your snippiness, Snips" he teased her a smile on his face, they were already teasing each other.
"Thank you for the very honest answer, Skyguy," Ahsoka said sarcastically, maybe he would tell her the real reason soon.
"The real answer is that the Force called me to pick you, Snips, the Force was telling me that you were supposed to be my Padawan and I listened," Anakin answered her question.
"Master, what do you think about the Jedi changing the Code on attachments?" Ahsoka asked him, she was curious until very recently the Council and been so strict on attachments and then suddenly the Code had changed without any reason given from the Council.
"I think it's a very good thing they changed the Code, attachments are not what is bad it's fear of losing the one you love, you must accept that death is a part of life and not fear losing those you love and attachments are quite healthy, they say that Compassion is key to life as a Jedi, well I believe that Compassion can be defined as Unconditional love," Anakin told her explaining his beliefs carefully as not to misuse them, he hoped Ahsoka would understand otherwise their relationship probably wouldn't work very well.
"I never thought about it that way, Master," Ahsoka told him with a thoughtful expression on her face as they walked towards his quarters.
"Sometimes you have to look at it a different way for it to make sense, Padawan" Anakin replied, he'd used the concept many times in his life.
"Thank you, Master," Ahsoka said as they settled into silence as they both thought about what he had said.

The next morning Anakin was sparring with Ahsoka.
"You like reverse-grip, don't you?" Anakin asked as she flew into another series of strikes that he blocked and evaded.
"Yep, I do, I find it more natural and easy then the forward grip," she answered as she attacked again and then blocked his attack.
She attacked him on one side but when she did, so she left her other side open allowing Anakin to take advantage and push her to the floor and win.
"Good job, Padawan" Anakin complimented as she rose, and they walked back towards their quarters.
"You defeated me so easily when I attacked you though," Ahsoka told him, how if he had defeated her so easily was she supposed to fight in the war?
"Yes, but now you know what not do to next time you spar or get in a fight, you think I won every fight when I was trained?" Anakin told her as he thought about his brutal training with Sidious and Tyrannus.
"I guess not" Ahsoka replied, her spirits lifting.
"That is why you are trained, so you can learn what to do and what not to do, if you already knew how l to do everything, then there would be no need for Padawan's we'd all just become knights right away, as Master Yoda would say Failure is the Greatest Teacher" Anakin explained, if you knew everything then there would be no point in learning.

"Hi Shia" Anakin said when they entered Obi-Wan's quarters after they had showered after sparring.
"Where is Obi-Wan?" Anakin asked her.
"I think Qui-Gon and him were meditating in the Garden of a thousand fountains, they should be back soon, do you want to play a game well we wait?" Shia asked smiling hopefully, she was bored sitting in here, she'd tried meditating but she was not in the mood.
"Yeah sure why not," Anakin said as Ahsoka and he sat down.
They were in a nice game of Sabacc when Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon as they arrived back at the quarters.
"I never thought you would end up taking a Padawan this soon," Qui-Gon said as they watched them finish their game.
"Well, I'm just full of surprises, aren't I?" Anakin asked teasingly.
"You never cease to surprise me, Anakin" Qui-Gon replied without a twinge of amusement in his voice, it was true, he'd survived so much surprising Qui-Gon at every turn.
"That's just the way I am" Anakin replied laughing as he won the round of Sabacc.
"Master, seriously how do you win this game so much?" Ahsoka asked exasperated, every game of this she'd played he'd won and it was very exasperating.
"Natural talent, Padawan, Natural Talent," Anakin said with a superior tone in his voice, he knew it wasn't that, the game was mostly luck and he just happened to be very lucky.
"Bah, that is not true, not true at all" Ahsoka replied.
"And why not?" Anakin asked trying to sound offended and failing miserably by laughing the whole time.
"You are a whole bunch of younglings," Obi-Wan told them.
"And you're a stuck-up old man" Anakin teased him.
"Don't insult your elders, youngling" Obi-Wan said dryly.
"I am not a youngling" Anakin pretended to whine.
"You sure are acting as one" Obi-Wan told him a smirk on his face.
"Are you going to have an opinion on this Master Qui-Gon?" Shia asked she was used to this arguing she often took part in it.
"Nope, if they are all going to act like younglings including Obi-Wan I'm just going to ignore them," Qui-Gon said, he enjoyed their arguing playfully, it was very refreshing.
"Hey" The three of them protested in unison well Qui-Gon just looked at them a smug expression on his face.
Ahsoka is Anakin's Padawan finally! Because this is an AU I decided to change how she became his Padawan and I hope you liked, hopefully, this chapter made you happy, it was mostly fluff, and the War will start in a couple of chapters, but you'll have to wait a little bit yet! Thanks so much for reading, and I beg you to review it! I beg you.
