Chapter 50: We're Young

At the hospital, three people sat around the bed, waiting for the girl to wake up. The boy beside her was a wreck. His face red, his head down low as his shoulders trembling from bawling his eyes out for hours.

The new year sucked. He thought family was always supposed to have each other back. When his uncle accused his girlfriend for being a slut, the blonde teen lashed out in fury. He lost his trust and respect for his mother's brother, his own uncle. Soon as the old man kicked him out, he immediately sped in his car to send his girlfriend to the hospital.

Her breathing was off. Her skin burning up out of nowhere. He was scared out of his mind when she kept crying. She seemed like she been drugged up. He knew it couldn't be the alcohol they had because they were sharing cups.

Marlon laid his forehead on Brody's arm, very exhausted from staying up since last year.

A wrinkled hand patted his back. His head sprung up, showing the two women in the room his sorrow face. The disconsolate boy took the bottle of water and banana from the elder woman.

"Mrs. Joyce, you sure you don't want it?" He asked her. The sweet woman smiled at him. Stroking the back of his head.

"My granddaughter can't wake up to see you like this. She'll be hurt." She grabbed a tissue to clean off Marlon's face. He silently let her have her way. The comfort of Brody's family soothed him a bit.

It wasn't the same feeling whenever he goes visits his mother. His mother would spread her arms out wide for a hug and he would lay his head on her chest like he always did as a kid. Snuggled in her warmth whenever his father goes off on a rampage, destroying anything in sight. Although him and his mother lived with fear, he always felt safe in her shaky arms.

Now his family is torn apart, he has no one else but Brody's family emotional support.

"Thank you, Mrs. Joyce." He forced a slanted smile. Joyce sighed. She went to her daughter, Brody's mother, Brie.

Brie didn't blink once. Her eyes focused on Brody's body. Her forehead crinkled, nervous and impatient. The doctor informed them that they pumped everything out of Brody.

Saying that she's fine and will be out soon as she wakes up for another checkup and eat something. Due to that, the drained girl slept for six hours at the hospital. All the mother wants is for her baby girl to wake up, so she can hug her.

"Brie, sweetheart. Do you want me to pick up anything from the cafeteria?" Joyce asked. Brie shook her head, fisting the hospital blanket against her nose. The room got cold while sitting there under the clock.

Joyce opened the door and in came Brody father, Pete. He rushed in with some snacks, which saved Joyce a trip.

"I had to rush out of work. How is Bro-Bro?" His brows scrunched up in a frown. Brie tear her eyes away to see her husband walking toward the bed. He leaned over the bed to kiss daughter's forehead.

"Doctor said she'll be fine. She just needs rest." Brie dapped the corner of her eyes with the blanket. Pete nodded his head. Sat next to her, rubbed her thigh in a comforting manner. He turned to Marlon.

"You're holding up okay, Marlon?" Pete asked the boy. Very concerned on how he is. By the looks of it, he just wanted to send him home to rest but Joyce warned him about his living situation. And Marlon refused to leave Brody's side.

"Yes, sir." Marlon sighed. He peeled the banana skin, taking a bite out of it.

"How was the party before all this?" He asked. One thing about Pete, he's a cool father. He can be uptight when it comes to his family but he's a chill guy. He used to be a party guy back then and listening to Brody's and Marlon's wild stories always entertain him. But this time, things went too far.

"It started out great. We dance, and I shared a cup with her through the night. Our friends were there. We caught up with an old friend. And then we went to my place, but she wasn't feeling good. It was...weird." He told them. He skipped over certain parts, but he didn't exactly lie to them.

.

What they don't know is that Marlon took tipsy Brody back to his place. He knew her parents going to scold her till the sun rises so his house was the best bet.

He piggy back carried her through the back door, sneaking his way in the living to see beer cans on the table and the TV illuminating the dark room. Two figures snorting like trucks on the couch.

He climbed the steps, shut his room door close. He sat her on bed, she was still awake but out of it at the same time. He placed her heels on the side of the bed and undressed himself.

She tugged on her purple dress. Mumbling unladylike words while struggling to remove her outfit. Marlon chuckled. He unzipped her dress from behind and slid it down her chest to her hips.

"Babe, stand up." He told her. She sluggishly got up, letting the dress dropped to her feet. She plopped her back against the bounce bed. Wrapping the warm sheets to mask her body with his musky scent.

"Mmmm... I can go for a new year quickie." She moaned. Rubbing her covered lower region with her energic fingers. Marlon smirked, leaning down to kiss her tenderly on the lips. She responded slowly, glided her free hand over his soft blonde hair. Pulling the strands between her fingers.

A whistling whimper interrupted them behind his door. Brody's hot body pushed him away. As much as she wanted him, Rosie's needs were more important.

Marlon gave her one last kiss. Headed to the door to open for his whimpering dog. Rosie's claws tap dancing the floor. That alerted the boy. He jolted, flew to his dresser to pull out sweats and two shirts. He threw the clothes on and helped Brody into the oversize shirt.

"Bathroom?" She smirked. Laid on her stomach, pressing her cheek in the pillow. Marlon sighed.

"You know it. William must had been too wasted and forgot about her. I'll be back babe." He threw on his wind breaker. Took the leash on door knob and the two left the room.

Leaving the door cracked open.

After walking through the cold to find her pee spot, they made it back home. Rosie shook off the snow, panting happily at her master. Marlon squatted, patting her head.

"I need to get you a dog jacket. Can't let you run around in the snow like that." Marlon chuckled. The dog wagged her thumb size tail with excitement.

Marlon took his time climbing the steps. Thinking about visiting his mother later today. The boy planning out his future after graduation. He wants to go to school, work, and find a place to call home. Sign his mother out of Hell and live with her again. He doesn't mind working at home to care for her. He just wants her there in his life again.

As for the love of his life-

A thumping sound was heard upstairs. Thinking that she's roaming around in his room. He finally made it to the top to hear whispering and low crying in his room. The door was crept open a bit wider than he left it.

The words weren't as clear, but he heard Brody sobbing.

Barging in, he saw Brody on the bed with Troy top of her. What made Marlon drag that man out his room and kick him down the flight of stairs was the sight of Troy's dirty ass dick smearing on Brody's cheek as she cried with her mouth closed tight.

The blonde skipped steps to throw his fist at Troy's face. Knuckles beating his face till it bruise up. Troy barely put up a fight against Marlon. Marlon held his grip on his neck, choking the perverted drunk as his fist collide anywhere on his blue swollen face.

Rosie bit Troy's arm when she saw a shiny object coming her masters way. Troy yelled in pain.

Marlon's body flung back against the stairs. Panting like he ran a marathon, he glared at his uncle. William threw a punch at Marlon's jaw. Sending the boy to the wall. Rosie ran to Marlon, whining and licking his injured cheek.

"You don't treat my guest like this boy. Who house do you think this is?" William helped Troy up.

"He fucking sexually harassed my girlfriend! That fucker deserves to die!" Marlon voice roared.

"Sexual harr- Boy, don't be disrespecting my friend, ol' Troy. A girl like her is a slut. Always fucking around with every man she sees. That's why she opens those damn legs to you all the time. She ain't innocent. She musta seduced Troy. Playing victim and shit. She aint shit. Just a cum bucket." He spit. Marlon stared at his uncle in shock. Especially, rage.

Unbelievable.

Brody at the top of the steps crying. Listening in the dark. She felt extremely sick and hot. Her insides are bubbling, and her legs gave out. Her back slid down on the wall, her legs trembling as she felt herself getting wet. She had no control over her body.

"You don't believe me!? Who fucking side are you on?!" Marlon stood up tall in front of his uncle. William dark eyes soullessly staring down at Marlon's. The older man pushed Marlon's shoulders. The boy wanted to bash his uncle head but he's his legal guardian.

"I want you out this house today. Don't come back until you respect me, my house, and apologize to Troy."

Guardian?! More like betrayer.

"Gladly. Just know that scumbag piece of shit ain't getting an apology for attempt rape!"

"You act just like your father! That's why Mariel is fucking closed up. Shit load scared of men like you. You take that whore and leave." William pointed at the door.

Marlon knocked his shoulder on William's when he went pass him. Reached the top of the stairs to see Brody limped on the floor.

"Brody...Brody...Baby...wake up! Wake up Bro! What the fuck!?" He picked her up. Brody's chest heaving rapidly and wheezing coming out her throat at the same time. He dressed her in his other sweat pants and her coat. Carried her down the stairs. He saw Troy smirking at him. Marlon cringed in disgust.

"Teach her to not use her teeth." He grinned.

This wasn't the time to whoop his ass again. Marlon took off, placed Brody in the passenger seat. She woke up.

"Mar...I'm...So hot...I'm burning up..." Her hands drifted in the sweats. Marlon shook his head, moved her hands away from her crotch area.

"I'm taking you to the hospital." He told her.

"...Hurry..." She sobbed. Marlon strapped her in. He sat on the driver side, started the car and left his betraying uncle's place.

He reached on the side for baby wipes. He handed it to Brody. She opened it, yanked a damped cloth out to clean her face. Wiping where Troy's filthy penis touched her.

"I...I brushed my teeth after ... thro-throwing up... I was scared... He was going to..." Marlon sulked. His hand gripped the stirring wheel tightly. His car swiftly past slow cars on the way.

"Shhhh... I'm here. I'm here." He caressed her thigh. Hearing her crying beside. It really hurt him to not be there on time.

"I...I love you, Marlon."

"I love you too, Brody."

.

.

"You two need to be very careful. The doctor said she had intake something that infected her immune system. Kids and alcohol..." Joyce warned him. Marlon nodded. They always drink though. Why now? Why couldn't it be him in bed? He'll take her place in a heartbeat.

"I know you guys are teenagers. But remember spiteful people hang around at parties too. Bad people will take advantage of nice people like her. She didn't deserve none of this. Brody have a great heart of gold." Joyce said warmly. Staring at Brody made the old woman think back. Seeing her baby grow into a lovely lady made her so proud. Brie and Pete done a wonderful job raising her.

"I promise I'll take better care for her." Marlon held Brody's still hand.

Thirty-five minutes went by and Brody finally woke up. Her eyes fluttered opened and the first person she saw was her boyfriend, his head resting against her belly. Sleep consumed him finally and she couldn't help to smile.

She looked up to see her parents and grandmother sitting on the other side of the bed. Her eyes roamed around, seeing that she's at the hospital.

"Hey, Bro-Bro." Her family gather up with soft smiles on their faces. Her mother tearing up, kissing Brody's face like she'll disappear instantly if she doesn't receive them.

"Guys, what happened?" Her voice croaked. Her grandmother gave her water to clear her throat.

"Marlon took you to his place but you weren't feeling too good." Brie told her. Sitting on the side of the bed, stroking Brody's cheek with her thumb. Brody dragged out a disappointment sigh. Embarrassed that her family had to see her in this condition.

"Sorry." She whispered. Marlon shifted his head to the other side. She run her fingers through his blonde locks that he decided to grow out. Thank God he left that mullet stage.

"No need to be sorry, honey. Just be aware of your surroundings. Teens goes through stupid thing and be caught up in them. Just be careful. You're our only flower." Joyce kissed Brody's cheek. She left the room, searching for the doctor.

The phone rang in Marlon's pocket. He groaned, his hand dug in his pocket for the annoying device. He placed the phone on his ear, forgetting he was at the hospital and dazed from his nap.

"Yeah?"

"You texted me that you needed a place to stay?" The hoarse voice said over the phone. Marlon almost didn't recognize the voice until he mentioned that text.

"Yeah. William kicked me out." Marlon told Louis. Louis sniffed over the phone. Marlon rise his head to look at Brody with worried eyes. Brody smiled but that dropped when she saw his face.

"Dude... Are you crying?" Brody pulled Marlon to her, setting the phone between them.

"...I'm at the hospital..." Brody squeezed Marlon's forearm, panicking.

"Brody and I are here too. What happened man?"

"...Clem...she..." He went silent after that. Then he started crying over the phone. Hearing him cry like that gave them anxiety. Brody choked on her own words. She tried to ask Marlon for the phone, but he stood up. He didn't want her to hear anymore. Brody's parents tried to calm Brody down, it wasn't working. She waited for Marlon to tell her the hell is going on.

"Marlon... Please tell me what he say...I want to know..."

"Clem emitted for surgery..."

"WHAT?!"

.

.

AJ crying in the waiting room. Rebecca holding him as he let all his emotions out. He was going on and off like a switch. Stopping to breathe and calm down for a bit. Then he goes back to tearing up, crying his eyes out.

Ava staring blankly at the wall. Don't know what to do. She cried enough, witnessing red all over the white ground. So much blood leaking out her best friend.

Duck slumped on Ava's side. His large hand linked with the brown girls. Gabe resting his forehead on his hand. Staring at his cellphone. He been reaching his sister since he left the party to the hospital. Worried about her whereabouts and condition.

Lee and Carley stood up when the doctor called for them. Carley bickering about Clem's condition. Lee rubbed her arms to ease her down.

"Please come this way." Dr. Carlos ordered them. They left the waiting room to speak with the doctor.

.

.

"There ya go! Stitched and patched." The nurse chirped. Smiling softly at Louis. The boy thanked her with a low voice.

"Your guardian will be here soon." She told him. The last thing he want to see and hear. His father or mother blowing up in his face about risking his life.

.

.

When the gun went off, time moved slow motion. The gun sound deafened his ears. His eyes shut tight, waiting for the impact. More so his death.

Next thing he didn't expect is his body being shoved to the side on the orange jeep. He held in his breath. Frozen still in place. A figure collapsed on the snow with a thud.

"Clementine!" He dropped down on his knees. Blood gushing out through her left shoulder.

Clementine choked on her unsteady breath. Trying the call out Louis name. Her water eyes saw him adding pressure to where it hurts a lot. His eyes clouding with tears. His thoughts spinning wildly in his head. Driving him mad.

The weapon aimed from the back on his head. He didn't realize it. His concern was only Clem.

Clem hissed as she moved fast. Kicked Louis off her before the trigger pull. The bullet scraped the side of his upper left arm.

At that moment, Duck flew by, charging at Molly. Her body slammed against a car hood. Ava sucker punched Molly out, leaving her knocked out.

She crashed down on the floor where Louis used his blazer to stop her from bleeding more. Louis kept his hand on her shoulder and the other one on her cheek to keep her awake. Dull light brown eyes fluttering close and unclear words being said through her lips.

The police and ambulance arrived when they got a call from Gabe and the club manager. Gabe ran out to see Clem taken to the ambulance by a stretcher and Louis was pulled in afterwards.

The police cuffed Molly, reporting to the station that they found the girl. Forced her in the cop car back seats and took off. The rest of the police stayed to keep people away from the crime scene and have the party doers take their vehicles and go home.

Duck helped Ava up, she stuck on that fact that her friend got shot. Why did she do it?! Ava screamed in her head. She wished she didn't get too distracted with Minerva's arrival. This would never happen if she had watched Clem.

While being questioned by the police, Gabe took the time to inform Clementine's parents.

"Hey, Lee." Gabriel sighed. Ava and Duck eyed him after discussing with an officer.

"You need to come to the hospital. Clem is hurt." He told them. Tears swelling up in his eyes. Ava pulled him in a hug when he hung up the phone.

"We need to go, Gabe... Where's Mariana?" Duck asked. Tugging them to his car. Gabriel put the phone on his ear.

"I'm calling her now." He waited. Waited long enough after five calls to her voicemail.

"Shit. Just go to the hospital. I'll text her." Duck took no time, he sped off down the streets. Flying right behind the flashing lights and sirens from the ambulance.

In the ambulance, Clem gripped on Louis's hand while they examine her left fingers and the bullet on her shoulder. Her eyes grew heavy and mind spun. She just kept calling out to Louis. Repeating his name over and over, faintly.

Louis brushed her hair off her face, shushing her. She was burning up.

"I'm here, Clem. They got you." He smiled at her. Reassuring that everything is fine now. Clem's eyes fell. Drowsy caught up to her when they stuck a needle in her.

"She needs surgery." The paramedic said.

.

.

A knock on the door pulled Louis back to the present. He lifted his head to see a dark-skin woman with long dreads.

At first, he thought it was another nurse, but she had on casual clothes. She had on a red feminine trench coat and black heel boots. She walked up to him. Eyeing his entire body to see any injuries.

Louis took her wrist, glaring at her. Steadying her features up close, his jaw dropped.

"Who...You're that lady from the pictures...M. Dallas..." His eyes widened. She resembled the old photos beside some aging features.

"You're so handsome." She cupped his face. A bit confused by the contact, he awkwardly pulled away from her. The smile on her face never left, she was extremely happy.

"Thanks. Um...Do you know me? Are you...some fan of mine or my father?" He asked the woman. She frowned a tiny bit, but her face lit up. Laughing to herself as she wiped the tears on the corner of her eyes.

"Louis, you're probably going to be confused, but I'm you're-"

"Michonne?! What are you doing here?" Lance barged in the room.

"They called me. And I came to check on my son's health." She said to him with a serious tone.

"You shouldn't be here!" He glared at her.

"What?! Who are you to tell me? I gave birth to him. I have a right. Can't believe this. My own boy held at gun point? Are yo-" Lance raised hand stopped her from nagging. He walked up to Louis, seeing his arm is bandaged. He looked at his fingers. Unharmed.

"Can you move your arm?" He asked Louis. Louis lifted his arm. He dropped his arm once he felt a shocking pain. Hissing as he clung to his arm. Shaking his head. A nurse came in.

"Mr. Knight's parents, your boy would need to take some time to recover. And please sign these papers before you go." She handed them the papers. Louis and the two adults signed the papers.

After leaving the room, Louis phone rung.

"Where's Clem?"

"Room four seventeen." Duck hung up. He's voice was off. Louis rushed to the elevator but Michonne stopped him. Clinging onto his good arm.

"Can... Can we talk later. My friend is here. She needs me." He told them. He clicked the button. Overwhelmed with emotions and thoughts about his father and the lady who claimed to be his mother and Clem's condition.

His father stepped up to say something. Soon as the elevator opened in time, Louis went in and pressed the opinion to close the doors.

"LOU-!"

"I'm coming Clem." He whispered. Clicked on the fourth-floor button.

.

.

Mariana groaned. The vibration of her phone woken her up from her pleasant slumber. She tossed and turned, feeling for her phone. Triggered by an unfamiliar smell and a body beside her in a bed, she sat up quickly. Groaning again when she noticed how she's light headed.

She pushed the covers off her, revealing her naked figure. The arm around her pulled her closer. She sighed, the person next to her cuddled close to her hips. As she picked up her phone, multiple text messages and calls from her brother and friends filled up the notification.

She went over the messages, reading most of them. Eyes growing wide as she scrolled through her phone.

"Oh shit..." She hissed. She moved the arm off her waist. Jumped out the bed, searching for her clothes.

"Mariana?" A rough shallow voice called her from under the sheets. Pitch black hair poked out, squinting. The boy yawned, rubbing his eyes.

"Damn it... I'm so so so sorry James!" She panicked.

James sat up, the sheets covering him below. His chest and back covered in scratches and hickies due to last night activity.

"I have to go. I'm so sorry for...I-I can't believe this! This shouldn't had happened! Oh God. Oh God. Oh gooooddd!" She slipped on her panties.

James watched her dress up. Admiring her tan petite figure. She sat on the edge of the bed, tying her wavy hair up into a messy bun as she clipped on her strapless nude bra, twisted it around to adjust it.

Eyes exploring her back. The way it flexes when she moves gave James flash back when she performed reverse cowgirl. That night was something to remember forever.

Something on her grabbed his attention. Behind her upper back, written in ink on her right shoulder turned the boy whole world around. His mind blown away as he reread the words repeatedly.

Mariana sighed. Soon as she got up, an arm around the waist brought her back down. Her face clench from the harsh impact when body slammed on the mattress. Squinting at James who straddled her on top, holding her arms above her head.

"So you're Muerto. How fucking convenient." The atmosphere in the room grew intense and dark.

Mariana never witness sweet friendly James in this state. His dark brown eyes almost black screamed danger. Staring long enough, it might kill a person. But it didn't faze Mariana at all. She had no sign of fear on her face.

"Let go, James."

"What's those CDs for? Why trade the Whispers product with those idiots?" He asked. His hush voice whispered in her ear. She tried to wiggle out his grip, but his hold was unbelievably tight.

She groaned. Knowing there going to be a bruise on her wrist.

"James... You don't understand I need to leave-" She gasped when his free hand held her neck.

"Ack! Are you shitting me?! You'll get yourself killed if something happens to me!" She shouted.

"You don't fucking scare me." He hissed. Barely breathing, Mariana lifted her legs, closing them around his waist to press him against her.

"Ja-James! Plea-Please!" She choked out. Her eyes begged him with tears crawling down.

At her weakest, James lost his other ego and let her go. She coughed out loud, rubbing her sore neck.

"You better get the talking." He broke out of her leg cage. Stepped out of bed to throw on clothes.

Mariana, his crush, had to be the famous Muerto. Can't believe he fell for her. She was the most beautiful girl he ever met. Every time he's around her, his heart would pound his chest like a drum.

James checked his phone to see last night text from Travis. About Ben's team coming up with something.

Now James don't want to look at her. He felt used by the enemy. She distracted him from his phone the whole night.

Mariana sat up. The way things between them changed.

"So... You're part of the Whispers?"

"Shut up and answer my questions." He zipped up his pants. Sat on the edge of the bed to put on his socks and boots.

"James... I..." Where to start? Why did it have to be James? Mariana thought. She got off the bed to find her dress and heels.

"I'm sorry." She muttered. Finally dressed in her clothes from the party.

"Sorry!? Fuck you. Fuck everything about you. You expect me to soften up because you're a girl. No...You're just a slut, working for that shit head, Ben."

Her eyes opened wide. She pushed James chest. Pushing him down on the bed.

"Are you loco!? I'm not fucking working for him! I'm not a slut either!" James pushed her off him. Backing her up at the far end of his room. She stumbled back, hitting the wall. His hands planted on the wall, arms blocking her sides.

"Then why have sex with me? Why use me? You must had known I was part of this fucked up gang shit."

"...Well shit. I guess I can't like you, huh?... I got carry away...Thinking you liked me..." She wiped off her face with her arm. Blinking away more tears.

"Ma-Mariana..." James frowned.

"Please James...Stay away from this. I'm warning you." She tried to push him, his strong body stayed in place. She gave up. Looking at his face to see him frowning.

"You...You like me?...Don't you know you can get yourself killed?!" He dropped his head on her shoulder. The boy can't comprehend what's going on. Can't figure out the pieces to the puzzle.

"I can't stop now, James." She mumbled.

"Why are you doing this?" He lifted his head, staring down at her.

"To save Brody's reputation and end this gang shit. Screw the Whispers, Ben, and his boys. You guys don't know what Ben is trying to do with those CDs. And I'm the only one who can stop them. I just need more time." Her eyes trembled. Tears rolling down her tan cheeks nonstop.

"What is he trying to do to them?" He narrowed his eyes.

"Sell them off to someone who would exploit it through the internet and make money off them... It's Brody's life I'm saving." She told him truthfully. James let go of wall, backing away to sit on the edge of the bed.

"How do you have connections to the Whispers to distribute the drug to Ben?"

"You can't know...You won't believe me." She sat next to him. James nodded. He had a change of heart.

"I do, Mariana... I can't hate you for the fact that you are risking your life out there for a friend. And... I... I really trust you...But!... I just can't allow this." He said. His words touched her deeply, she had a mission to complete though.

"I'm glad you care but I can't have you interfere." She frowned. James sighed.

"Tell me who is passing you the pills."

"Your dumb ass Russian friend. He's secretly trading with me for cash from Ben and Ben is passing the CDs one by one."

"Arvo?!" He jumped on his feet. Stormed in his dresser to throw on a shirt and his coat. Mariana grew worried.

"James? What are you doing?"

"They're screwing with me to do their dirty work. Arvo, fucking cheat is siding with Ben!" Mariana took his hand before he left out the door.

"James... His sister Natasha the head of the Russian gang. That's why he's secretly taking the role of a Whispers. Him and Ben are doing some sketchy shit and it's all about the money. Not the pills...soon there will be guns and blood involved."

"How do you kno-" She interrupted him. Point at her scar finger eye brow.

"I met Natasha and she's the one captivating the CDs to pass it to Ben to me if I give him the pills to revert them into a-a ...I don't really know...high tolerance, sex drug." She told him as she got up to put on her dress.

"Mariana... Are they-"

"Working together without others knowing. Yes."

"Shit!" He whisper shouted. Flabbergasted by how deep Mariana is in this mess.

They went out the door. James was about the hop on his dad's bike until Mariana pulled him down to her eye level.

"James. Take me to the hospital. Please." She begged. James nodded. Gave her his helmet.

Violet watches Minerva brush her red hair in place. Catching her blonde lover staring reflection, she turned around with a soft smile.

"I can't believe you ran away to see me. What about Sophie?"

"She's covering me." The perks for having a twin sibling. Minerva got up to crawl her way to Violet. She straddled the blonde, cupping her jaw with her hands.

"Don't get too much in trouble than you guys are." Violet looked to the side. Minerva tilted down, pressing her lips on Violet's nose.

"I won't."

"How are we going to work things out, Minnie? We can't call each other. See face to face. This long distance driving me insane."

"Babe. I have a plan. I'm getting Sophie and I out before my grandma send me to an all-girl university."

"What are you going to do?"

"You'll see." She smirked.

An hour went by, Minerva decided to head back to the boarding school. Violet hugged her dearly. Not wanting to let her go. In this case, she had to.

"I'll miss you." Minerva walked backwards with a smile on her face. Violet walking with her to her ride. It was Ruby.

"I'm missing you already." The blonde teared up. The ginger kissed the short skinny girl passionately.

"Let's go Minnie before they check for you." Ruby beeped the horn.

The girls hugged one last time.

"Don't let our love die out." Minerva whispered before sliding in the car, blowing her girlfriend kisses.

Violet waved as the car drove off.
.

Louis rushed around the corner to see AJ, his parents, Duck, Gabriel, Mariana, and Ava outside the room. The brunette's parents left out the room to tell AJ's parents something privately.

"Hey. Can we see Clem?" Louis asked his friends.

"Dude...She don't want to see anyone but her parents." Duck said, sulking on the chair. Mariana patted his thigh.

"She's just shaken up." Mariana told him. Louis shook his head.

"I want to see her." He marched up to the door. His body yanked back. He turned his head to see AJ with blood shot eyes.

"She kept crying about not wanting to see you. She ...She thinks you hate her." The young teen sniffled. Louis flinched his face. Why would he hate her? She did nothing wrong but saved him.

"Louis!" Carley hugged the boy. He winced in pain. She pulled back to see his arm bandaged.

"I can't believe you guys are alright. I didn't know what I'll do if something were to happen to you guys!" She wept on Louis, carefully hugging him. Lee exhale deeply.

"Thank God you're alright." Lee smiled.

"Yeah. How's Clem?"

"She's fine. The doctor said she going to stay one night... She's not taking it pretty well." Lee rubbed the back on his neck.

"What do you mean? What happened?!" Worried that she has a short time to live. Can't see anything but darkness. Unable to move any part of her body or paralyze throughout. Thinking of the worst.

"I want to see her."

"You sure?" Ava asked Louis. The dread headed boy nodded. He handed her his blazer and shirt.

"Yes! Why are you guys so freaked out?" Louis looked at them crazy. He invited himself inside, noticing the lights are off. Clem had her own private room. The curtains blinding any source of light in the cold room. Making the room creepily gloomy.

"I don't want you to see me like this. Just leave me, Louis." She said out loud.

Louis went over to her bed. She had her arm over her eyes. Lips quivering. Louis pulled a chair up, sitting next to her bed side.

The chair scraping the floor, moving very close to her. She turned, facing her back at him. Groaning in pain, her right arm clung to the left side. Louis got up quickly. Leaning over her, eyeing her bandages on her chest under her hospital gown. Clem nervously covered herself as she felt him staring too much.

"I'm so glad you're alive, Clem." He smiled. The girl sighed

"You're the hugest idiot I've ever met in my life." He told her. She opened her eyes to look up at him. Eyes watery and brows knitted to the point her forehead crinkling up.

"I-I know." She hiccuped. Trying her best to suck up her pain. Louis leaned down, angling his lips to her ear.

"Why don't you want me to see you?" He whispered. Clem started crying.

"I feel terrible! I look horrible!" She choked. Sobbing away on the bed. Louis gently pressed himself on. Using his body to hug her in an odd way. Breathing her in, reassuring himself that this is no dream. Clem turned her head to press her face on the croak of his neck.

"I'm so disgusting now." She said, snuggling close to him. Louis leaned up, brushing her wild hair back.

"All you need is to fix your hair and then you're good as new." He smiled. Wiping her face with his hand.

"Good as new? Louis! I fucking have nine fingers!" She lifted her arm, hissing in pain. Louis helped her bring her arm down on the bed. Her shoulder must hurt like a son of a bitch.

"Nine in the half."

"Louis... I'm serious." She sternly growled.

"No matter what. You're still beautiful to me. Even with nine in the half fingers." He tried to lift her spirit. Yet, the girl still sulk in bed.

"Louis, you don't understand. I'm sick and tired of watching the people that I love get hurt." She eyed him with sad eyes. Louis nodded.

"And I can't watch you get hurt. Clem, why would do such a thing? You should haven't gotten in the way." He scowled her. Clem stared deeply into his eyes. Wondering why he upset with her for that. He could had-

"For fuck sakes, you could had...Yo-You could ha-.." Her voice weakened. She crumbled under him. Crying her eyes out silently. Louis palmed her pale cheeks, kissing her chapped lips softly. Staying in place until she calmed down. He inched away from her lips.

"I don't care if anything were to happen to me."

"Don't talk like that." She sniffled.

"We're here Clem. We're alive. Breathing. Talking. Moving. I'm so thankful that you're fine. As many times I saved and helped you. Thank you for saving my life. Thank you for accepting my flaws. Therefore, I'll accept yours too. Thank you for giving me a chance act fearless when there's trouble. Because I was never the one to do a courageous stunt like that. You're very inspiring and precious to me." Clem pale cheeks flushed red. Adding some color to her face.

"You're the hugest idiot, Louis."

"I know." He chuckled.

"I can't stop thinking about what could had happen." Her eyes quivered.

"Nothing happen. I'm still here because of you. I would kill myself if I and the other haven't made it in time."

"You're crazy, Louis."

"Yes. Just so you know, I'll do anything for you." He kissed her neck. Clem let out a sigh.

"Lou~"

"I don't care how crazy you look. How many limps you injure or lose. Or-" He kept going on and on. Kissing all over her neck with short pecks. The dark hole in her chest blossomed. Each kiss warming her heart.

"I'm not leaving you until you don't want me anymore. Let me be close to you as possible."

"Well, you're squishing me and it hurts." Clem narrowed her eyes at him. Louis gulped, lifting his body a bit.

"Oh! My bad!"

The look in his eyes made Clem laugh. It was hard to contain her giggles but it lightened the mood. Louis sighed, proud that he made her smile again.

Clem ran her good hand over her wild hair. Taming it down.

"You're so pretty." He confessed. Clem turned away, blushing again.

"Stop. I know I look horrible. I'm also exhausted...I have lame bags under my eye. My face is greasy, chest hurt, and..." She stared at her finger.

"Clem, I can stare at you all day. You will always be attractive to me. I'm so grateful to meet someone like you." He smiled down at her. Clementine sniffled, her fingers fiddled with the necklace on her neck.

"You sure like crusty girls. Especially with a wealth background." She said under her breath. Louis arched his brow, giving her that playful look.

"Can't deny it. Your appearance can't never push me away. I want to be with you. Right here. Right now. So, don't tell me to leave."

"Louis. You can pick any girl. Anyone who is much beautiful, less problematic, and not so bitchy. Why be with someone who's a hot mess?" Clem queried.

"Hot mess? Baby, you never a hot mess to me. I never had an exciting time of my life until I met you. You spark up my world." He answered, perking his brow high. Clem snorted, laughing at his corny phrases.

"Oh Louis. Stop searching up cheesy quotes from online."

"It's all from the source." He tapped his temple. Smirking while she giggled softly.

She study his face. Gawking in his brown eyes, trailing her eyes through his freckles, groomed brows, his large nose, irresistible lips, the bandage on his arm. He still wore his party out. He must had left his top with someone because he was rocking the white tank top. Exposing his lean fit body.

"Are you okay?" She reached out for his arm.

"Yeah. I won't be playing as much." He felt her touch his arm.

"I'm sorry that I kicked you."

"You can kick me all you want."

"Louis..."

"What?"

"I can't help falling for you." Clem said it fast. But Louis caught each word. Blood rushed to his face and his hands grew sweaty as he fidget in next to her in bed.

Clem smiled weakly. She took his hand and kissed it. What she said surprised the boy.

Louis gave her another long kiss. Taking both their breath away. Neither can't describe the passion and fire inside. It was no fire of lust or hate. They felt that radiant energy. Her words repeatedly echoing in his head. Not sure he felt so moved by it. But he knew he was deeply falling for her.

After that, everyone came in the room to checking on them. The couple smiles relieved the parents and friends. Carley pushed the curtains to the side to bring natural light into the room.

Lee helped Clem to sit up properly by reclining the bed. Soon as everyone took a seat, Lee glared at Clem and then suspiciously glanced at Louis.

"Clem... What's that on your neck?"

Carley and Lee crossed their arms. Ava and Duck smirking. Gabe stopped talking to Mariana, the sibling's eyes widened when they saw Clementine's neck. Rebecca shook her head. AJ rolled his eyes. Alvin came in the room last, brought in snacks for himself.

Louis coughed. Looking away from everyone. Clem sheepishly shield her chest a bit with her gown. Pulling of a clueless expression. Lifted her shoulders then dropped them.

"...I don't know."
