Glen glared at his phone. He was on speaker with Cooper and Kevin. The half Osmosian looked reproachful but Cooper held his ground.

"She's a criminal Glen. We can't trust her." Glen crossed his arms scoffing at Cooper.

"I am well aware that she's a criminal. I was under the impression that we were giving her the chance to be something better. We wouldn't know jack shit about what we're facing without her. Tailing her isn't really giving her that chance, is it?" Kevin frowned as they pulled up to the airfield they'd tracked Jay's car to. He had a bad feeling about leaving her alone after they interrupted her deal earlier. He still wasn't sure he trusted her, but they needed her help if they were going to get anywhere in finding his dad. She had already proved more than useful.

"We're already working on finding her to make sure she's ok." He hopped off the back of Cooper's motorcycle, clicking off the call, and quickstepped over to Jay's car. It was empty. Cooper frowned as Kevin stepped up to the fence into the airfield. It was broken open, large enough for a full grown man to walk through comfortably. He nodded to Cooper and they slipped into the airfield, silent as shadows. The door to the main hanger was open enough for them to hear what was happening inside as they carefully slipped in unnoticed.

"But I still want payback for that scam." The voice was low and gravely. Lights bloomed, white at first quickly turning pink as they spiked and a scream filled the air. Cooper and Kevin shared a look and Kevin spun the dial on the Omnitrix, selecting Big Chill.

"Do what you want to me, but Kevin Levin gets that holo-viewer." Kevin frowned at Cooper who swore under his breath.

"You are in no position to make demands little girl." Kevin growled lowly, frost chasing his breath as he glided through the crate in front of them and solidified.

"She would be, if she were alone." He hissed out. He was surprised to find that he recognized the being sitting in the large chair in front of him. He'd only run up against Vulkanus a few times when he was eleven and first found the Omnitrix but he hadn't changed much. Vulkanus's eyebrows shot up.

"She has friends?" He sounded genuinely surprised, glancing over that the glass cylinder. His only answer from Jay was the shadow of a hand beating weakly on the glass from the inside. "Had friends." Vulkanus stated eyes narrowing as he whistled. A large group of small creatures burst into the room brandishing glowing pickaxes. Kevin lunged at Vulkanus as several of the pickaxes fell to pieces. Cooper must have found a vantage point where he could work his own version of technological wizardry. That was the one major drawback to his powers, he couldn't move much while he was communicating with technology. Kevin attacked Vulkanus, quickly freezing his exo-suit. With the tiny Detrovite now without his power-suit Kevin turned to the machine that held Jay. He really wasn't sure how to deal with it. So instead he called out.

"Coop. I'll deal with the minions. You get down here and turn this thing off." The pickaxes stopped randomly exploding and instead the machine began to whirr and the lights in the cylinder began to die down. Jay was laying curled at the bottom of the machine twitching slightly. She groaned as the machine wound down and the cylinder cracked open. Kevin flew into what remained, carefully scooping her up and carrying her out. The minions scattered chirping and screeching. Cooper pulled himself out from between crates and hopped down to the floor frowning.

"Is she ok?" He asked and Kevin shrugged.

"How am I supposed to know? I don't know anything about magic. She's breathing." Cooper's phone rang as green lights flashed and Kevin returned to normal, still holding Jay. Cooper pulled his phone out of his pocket and answered the call without looking.

"Hello?"

"What the hell did you guys do?" It was Glen and he sounded in a slight amount of pain.

"What do you mean?"

"Look all I know is one second I'm fine the next there's this screaming in my head and now I have a migraine. What happened!" Cooper frowned.

"Let me put you on speaker." Cooper pulled the phone away from his ear and tapped the screen. "Ok what happened?"

"I have no fucking clue. Just a few minutes ago everything was fine and now my fucking head is pounding, there's an echo in my ears and…" He paused. "And all of my crystals are cracked. What the fuck!"

"Yeah anything nearby that's tied in to magic will probably have felt that." Jay's voice was rough and quiet. Her eyes were still closed.

"Felt what?" Glen asked from the phone but Jay shook her head. She turned out of Kevin's arms and was promptly sick on the floor. She grimaced wiping her mouth on her arm. Kevin frowned.

"Are you ok?" Jay turned over and looked up at him. Her normally green eyes were stained pink. "That doesn't look too good." Jay rolled her eyes.

"No shit?" The sarcasm dripped from her voice like venom but the hoarseness sort of kneecapped its effectiveness. Kevin frowned and carefully pulled her to her feet. He started to help her limp away but about halfway there she started to pull away.

"Hey, let me…"

"Fuck off we're getting what I came here for. I went through too much tonight not to end up with what I fucking paid for." Kevin shook his head and helped her limp over to a slightly shadowed corner. She stooped down and snagged a small device out of the shadows. He frowned.

"You really did all of this for a fucking holo-viewer?" Jay shrugged pressing it into Kevin's free hand.

"I hear this one's special." The look on Cooper's face was one of guilt that ran deep. He glanced over at Vulkanus who had given up on his suit and instead popped open a compartment attached to the machine he'd trapped Jay in. It looked like it was filled with little pink batteries, all glowing from the inside. He was laughing loudly. Cooper frowned.

"What about him?" The blonde asked and Jay glanced back at the alien. Her eyes narrowed but she shrugged.

"What about him we're even." She glanced at Kevin. "Are you gonna watch that or what?" He slipped it into his pocket.

"Not here." Jay didn't even object to him helping her out of the airfield, Cooper trailing behind them. She did object a little to Kevin driving her car but she was clearly in no shape to do it herself right now. Cooper followed behind on his motorcycle. For a moment Kevin thought about taking them to Glen's, since he knew more about both magic and medicine but he decided against remembering Jay's threat to hex her cousin into next week if her aunt and uncle found out she was on Earth. So instead he pulled up to his own house.
